Office 2007 Plugin

Since installing the Office 2007 plugin for Livecycle Rights Management we have been experinecing a few issues.
Users who when using EXCEL 2007 and scrolling with their mouse it crashes, closes and recovers document. .
Also users trying to save word documents are unable to choose netowrk drives it just freezes. they have to save locally and copy to netowork.
Please note when plugin is removed both issues are resolved.
Any ideas?
Chad

HI Steve,
This is a weird one where it doesn't seem to be all PC's but we are getting more and more reports as the days go by.
Once the plugin is removed things return to normal.  The Excel problem occurs with documents that are not protected and happens most frequently when a user is scrolling through the document using the scroll wheel on the mouse.  It doesn't seem to happen when users use the page up or page down options.
The word doc issue I has so far only been reported by approximately 3 users but each one I personally investigated.  I remove the plugin and the user has no issue saving the file to the network.  I re-install as administrator and the un-configured plugin does not cause the issue,  but as soon as i configure and point it to the policy server the issue immediatley re-appears.
I am continuing to investigate  but was hoping someone has already experienced and resolved or can point me the right direction.
Thanks,
Chad

  • Problem with Office 2007 whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows

Sadly I have a Win7 laptop as my work hack and am using Office 2007.  Outside of work I use iCloud to sync calenders between various iOS/OS X devices however whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows Plugin my email no longer loads. Outlook starts fine and just sits there with an empty inbox waiting for mail to load.  I can't even open the iCloud Panel from within Control Panel either to set preferences!
Unistalling the iCloud plug-in resolves this but I really want to sync my iCloud calender with Outlook and can't see any other way to do it, plus it worked before and then just stopped.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

I tired everything that was suggested in the forum.  Tried IE and firefox to no avail. When I tried computers in stores both worked.  A friend of mine who has the 32 bit setup got it to work. Several folks have stated it is the compatability issue with 64 bit.  As a last resort, I loaded safari on my home computer, and yep, it works.  Go figure, apple product.

  • Adobe Reader 9.x crashes when opening PDF's created using Office 2007

I work on the helpdesk side for a big corporation and many of our users are reporting that when they try to open a PDF, it locks up their Internet Explorer or Reader 9.x
We noticed that the problems were only caused by PDFs that were presentations created in PowerPoint, then saved as a PDF with the Office 2007 Save as PDF plugin. So what we did was engaged an engineer at Microsoft to look into the issue.  They did a lot of troubleshooting and narrowed it down.
They think that if the presentation was created using PP 2003 then opened in PP 2007 then saved as a PDF then this causes AR 9.x to crash.  So what they did was remove the slide number, and added a new slide number using PP 2007, save it as a PDF then it opens in AR 9.x
All other versions of AR can open the PDF under the same scenario.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks

It's almost identical to what you posted. I think the difference was that I was trying on a machine with complete install of Acrobat which has the font packs and hence there was no hang/crash. Your file doesn't hang on that machine either.
If you look at the fonts panel in your document: File>Properties>Fonts, you'll notice that it uses MS-PGothic font which is a Japanese fonts, and hence the Japanese font pack might fix this.
Also, since you mentioned ACE.dll, the other possibility might be that there are conflicting DLLs on the system, commonly referred to as DLL Hell. Another thing to try would be to search the system for ACE.dll and see which all software install it.

  • Extentions for Microsoft Office 2007

The instructions for configuring the desktop say....
"The plug-in requires Microsoft Office 2003 for Windows (or later) versions of Excel and Word."
The (or later) can only be Microsoft Office 2007, which I have installed.
The actual download page for the extension install file does not say "or later).
I tried to install and it failed saying the I did not have Office 2003 installed. That is correct, I have Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007. So the information in the disk configuration instructions must be wrong.
Does anyone know whether the extentions will be made available for Word and Excel 2007, or even if they are needed?

    Hi,
There is a new version of the Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management for Microsoft Office which works with Microsoft Office 2007. You can download the new version of the plugin from http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/rightsmanagement/extension/downloads.html.
Before installing the plugin you have to uninstall the previous installed version and also quit any running Microsoft Office programs.
After the installation is complete, you will have to manually configure the plugin to work with the Adobe Document Center. To do this:
    * Launch one of the Microsoft Office applications.
    * Click on the newly installed tab called "Adobe Rights Management".
    * Click on the "Choose Server" button in the tab. You will see there is an existing pre-configured server.
    * Select the pre-configured server and click on the Edit button. In the name field enter "Adobe Document Center", in the Server Address Field enter "pdf-policy.adobe.com" and in the Port field enter "443"
    * Next click on the "Connect to this Server" button. This will prompt you to login to the server. Enter your Adobe Document Center username and password in this field.
    * Once login is successful there will be a message that the server has been successfully configured. Select the new Adobe Document Center entry in the Server Configuration dialog and make this entry the default by clicking on the "Set Default" button. This will complete the configuration.
You can now use the Adobe Document Center to secure Office 2007 file formats using the Secure button on the Adobe Rights Management tab.
Please let me know if you have any trouble.
    Thanks

  • Problem Embedding 3d objects in Microsoft office 2007 applications

    Dear Experts-
I'm currently using adobe X professional with the 3d pdf converter from Tetra4d to embed 3d cad models into a pdf file. Maybe i am wrong to say this but i notice one missing feature if it is to be compared with Adobe Professional Extended 9.
In Adobe professional extended 9 version, i was able to embed 3d cad/object into a microsoft word 2007 by clicking the "embed 3d" on the Acrobat ribbon. However when I recently upgraded to adobe X pro, i cant find this button on the acrobat ribbon.
Am i having some settings problem or does Adobe Pro X cancelled out the ability to embed 3d object in microsoft office 2007?? Are there any work around methods that enable me to do the same?

Correct, Updates to Acrobat X Pro to support MS 2010 have occured and they do not support embedding 3D Objects. Curently the level of effort required to develop our own 3D plugin for MS products is quite large and has been out prioritized by other enhancements request by our customers.
That said, I have personally tried a free Powerpoint plugin that has successfully allowed a PDF to be embeded as a link into a Powerpoint document. Feedback from several customers is that it is also successful.
The product can be found here -

Tetra 4D is in no way associated to this product, and any questions should be directed to the developer.

  • Acrobat 8.1 and Office 2007/2010 Professional

I have a user stating she can't create PDF's from within Acrobat 8.1 Professional. When she selects Create pdf -> From File and selects a word document from her desktop, it gives her the following message: "Unable to open document...Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file". I was able to create the pdf by using Word's save as function. Her machine is Windows 7 with Office 2007. A similiar situation happened to another user who has Windows XP/Office 2010, when he attempts to create pdf using the same method above, he gets the following message: "Missing PDFMaker files". The Acrobat plugin is not disabled. Anyone have any ideas?

Big difference between 2007 and 2010 verisons of WORD. Also, you need to update AA8 to have hope of getting Acrobat to work in Win 7. Adobe will tell you to upgrade to AA X with Win 7 (they do not support AA8 with Win 7, but several folks have gotten it to work in the 32-bit version of Win 7). Any operations for AA8 in Win 7 are always a potential for failure. However, first try to print to the Adobe PDF printer from WORD. That should work with either 2007 or 2010. With AA8, that is ALL you can do with OFFICE 2010, nothing more.
With OFFICE 2007 you may be able to get things to work. You need to insure PDF Maker is active in WORD -- it shows as an Adobe menu item. If that does not show, then you will have to activate the macro in WORD. If you get the macro working, you may be able to use that menu to create a PDF. If that works, then you have a chance of opening a DOC file in Acrobat. If PDF Maker does not work, then you can not open a DOC file in Acrobat.

  • Problems with Downloading BI Reports to Excel  in Office 2007

    Hi,
I've created reports using the BI Publisher plugin for Word 2007 and deployed these through Apex. Users that have Office 2003 installed get to download the file without any compatibility issues. Those users on Office 2007 get a warning as follows:
"The file you are trying to open. 'filename.xls' , is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? "
The file will open and save, it's just annoying getting this message each time. There aren't any problems when downloading the report in other formats.

This is a known issue.. It is a "Fix" from Microsoft, to make sure folks know that the file is NOT a true Blue XLS style file.. My office just went through this and it can be adjusted, but involves a registry setting that they DID NOT want to impliment..

  • EMET and Office 2007/2010

What is the EMET support team's position on EMET for all Office 2007 applications?
Will this ever be a "supported" configuration (maybe on 2010?) or will these techniques be incorporated natively into Office?
This is an exciting product and I thank Microsoft for investing in it.
My idea of a party is a virtualization server and a room of TechNet DVDs

Thanks Daniel for your words on EMET.
We have been successfully enabled EMET for Office 2007/2010 without problems. Having said this, depends on the
scenario where you are using Office 2007/2010 and the plugins/macros you use on the daily basis.
As always, I encourage you to test it in your specific scenario and tweak the mitigations that could affect your
    normal usage of such applications.

  • HT4759 How to Completely Uninstall iCloud? Office 2007 Save As Crashes

I can no longer use "Save As" in Office 2007 since I enabled ICloud.  Word and Excel Crash. And Outlook does not seem to be about to send more than one email at a time.  I have to select the Send/Receive button right after I create a new email.  If I wait and create a second email, the first email in the outbox changes status from ready to send to cannot send.  And even if I open it and try to send it, it will not send.  I have to re-create it.
I want to know how to thoroughly uninstall ICloud.  Other posters on Microsoft (Girish M) and Apple (SkinnyNick) have indicated that the problem is related to ICloud.  And I can confirm that I started having problems right after enabling ICloud.  Here are the references:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-excel/excel-2007-clo sing-unexpectedly-when-trying-to/69705682-06ca-4e39-b17e-56d4bacc3452
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4607859?start=0&tstart=0
I spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot this problem.  I ran the Office install to repair.  This did not work.  I uninstalled all Office 2007 related products.  I then manually purged all directories relating to office including the Common Shared Directories.  Then, I ran Microsoft's FixIt to uninstall Office to make sure everything was uninstalled.  Then, I reinstalled Office 2007 and it still failed.  I thought about installing Office 2010, but the second post (above SkinnyNick) indicates that this would not work.
So, I am looking for a way to uninstall iCloud including that parts that is causing this problem.  Now, the second post (above) from
SkinnyNick) says that he tried to uninstall iCloud but this did not fix the problem.  He finally reconfigured iCloud by de-selecting Outlook, but I would rather completely remove iCloud.
Can anyone provide instructions on how to completely remove iCloud so that my Office 2007 products will function again using Save As?
    Thanks,
    Rob

As a Windows Application Developer who has more than 28 years of professional development experience, I can tell you that anything is possible in terms of how developers implement their applications. I have seen just about everything under the sun, and it would not surprise me if Apple's iCloud not only places files in key Windows directories, but it may use configuration information in a file as opposed to the Window Registry to control how their application behaves. And this would prevent “System Restore" from fixing the problem. Configuration information can be stored in many places. And, even if you do use the Windows Registry to control how your application works, you can key off of new files (like a user profile file) to control how your application to behaves. Csound1, you have been very generous with your time, and I am very grateful for your advice. Thank you.

  • Hot Synch with Windows XP and MS Office 2007

I can not synchronize my Palm Treo 680 Unlocked with Windows XP Home and MS Office 2007.
I see several comments regarding Outlook 2007. Is resolving the synchronization of Outlook 2007 the same solution as Office 2007?
If so what is the solution?
Post relates to: Treo 680 (Unlocked GSM)

I also cannot synch my Palm Treo 680 unlocked with Outlook 07 using Vista.  It says "Hot Synch Operation Completed Successfully", but nothing did synch.  I downloaded palmoutlook07conduits.zip and there was no change.  I was synching wirelessly using Microsoft Exchange Active Synch without problems, but when I cancelled my 'data' package on my cell phone, it no longer was synching.  I tried reloading my original Palm CD, but it doesn't allow me to select 'Outlook' as my connectivity.  Please help.  And please don't provide me with a bunch of acronyms as I won't understand them!!!!

  • OneDrive for Business sync client with Office 2007

We have 700 people organisation using Sharepoint 2013. One of the key features for us is the OneDrive for business that allows us to sync document libraries. BUT there seems to be a big problem with Office 2007 clients, after installing the separate client
opening and creating documents get's broken. Same thing is described here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2014/02/06/you-cannot-open-or-create-office-documents-in-sharepoint-2013-with-office-2010-and-office-2013-products-installed.aspx
Office customization tool cannot be used with standalone client and there is no way to disable Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation support. Technet states that Office 2007 is supported but it surely doesn't feel like it. SP2 fixes this for Office 2010, but that
doesn't help with Office 2007. Is there any solution for this?
    Regards,
    Sampsa

    Hi,
It’s a known issue with Office 2007 or 2010 (without the latest Service Pack) along with SharePoint 2013.
To resolve the issue, you can install Service Pack 2 for Office
2010 and Service Pack 3 for Office 2007.
Or disable the IE Add On - "SharePoint OpenDocuments Class" .
    Thanks,

The Report Generation Toolkit does probably not support Office 2007 yet. This is because the Office ActiveX interface used to change with each version and the Report Generation Toolkit comes with specific libraries for each of the Office versions it supports. With the wrong office version the Report Generation Toolkit VIs are normally broken and can't run without some more or less involved modifications.
