Office 2013 document with Czech spell check lags by save and close on Windows Server 2012R2 RDS session host

On our Win Srv 2012R2 RDS session host server (terminal server) I have bad problem. Office 2013 documents with Czech spell checking lags (1-2 min) when I close and save document. When I change spell checking on English everything works OK. On Windows 8.1
works OK both spell checking.
I tried to investigate with process explorer, and when winword.exe lags, active thread is wwlib.dll!DllGetClassObject with Stack:
KERNELBASE.dll!ReadFile+0x3
MSGR2CZ.DLL!GramGetError+0x3ffeb

Any idea?

Hi,
It seems to be an Office related issue, I suggest asking the question in Office forums for help.

    Hi,
As the log, MSGR2CZ.DLL and wwlib.dll were both of the Microsoft libraries, not the third-party libraries. Thus, we need to analysis what happened with the dump file. But, it is beyond what we can do in the forum. I recommend you open a ticket with Microsoft
    engineer.

  • Windows Server 2012R2 Failover Cluster error with mounted volumes

    Hi all,
I've a problem with mounted volume on a WSFC build on top of Windows Server 2012R2, the situation is:
M: is the volume hosting mounting points
    disk-1, disk-2, disk-3 are volume mounted on M:\SomeFolder
Theese volumes are used by a SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance, but my problem is related to WSFC. I've set dependencies so disk-1, disk-2, disk-3 depend upon H:
If I try a failover of the role "SQL Server" I observe that when the disk come online in the other node they fail with this error:
Cluster resource 'disk-1' of type 'Physical Disk' in clustered role 'SQL Server (ISQL2014A)' failed. The error code was '0xaa' ('The requested resource is in use.').
Based on the failure policies for the resource and role, the cluster service may try to bring the resource online on this node or move the group to another node of the cluster and then restart it.  Check the resource and group state using Failover Cluster
Manager or the Get-ClusterResource Windows PowerShell cmdlet.
If I manually take offline H: and than bring it online and then manually take online all disk (1 to 3) they come online with no error.
    I'm going crazy!

I've found the root of the problem: the servers are virtual machine on a VMware ESX 5.5 infrastructure, VMware claims that on 5.5 multipath is supported for raw device mapping disks but disabling multipath (I've set to fixed path) the Windows Server Failover
    Cluster stops to get problems.
Now we have opened a support call with VMware.

  • Problem with Office 2013 documents after PC resumes from sleep

Have a number of PCs in a work environment that exhibit the following error messages when they are woken from a sleep state and the user was working on a Word or PowerPoint document via a network share.
PowerPoint error: The file you were working with was modified during suspend mode, and the original version is no longer available. <file path and name.ppt> must be re-saved.
Word error: Word cannot establish a network connection with this document after the system resumed from suspend mode. Save the document into a different file to keep any changes.
Having searched the error message I can see that hot fixes were created to fix the issue in Word 2007 and 2010, but nothing seems to relate to Office 2013.
All the PCs have the latest OS and Office updates.
I tried the NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds reg fix from this link - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2626998/en-gb , and obviously applied it to the Office 2013 key, but to no avail. The additional steps talk about applying the available hot fix, but this
is not applicable to Office 2013.
    Information:
All PCs Windows 8.1 Enterprise and Office Professional Plus 2013
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I have the same issue with 8.1 and Office 2013, and yes, Office is at SP1 (15.0.4631.1002). I've likewise done the Reg fixes suggested for 2007/2010, but still have the issue. Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Office 2013 installed with KB2817430, windowsupdate still finds KB2850036. difference between KB2817430 and KB2850036

    Hi,
I've made a silent Office 2013 installer with /admin and put SP1 MSP's in the updates folder.
After deployment under installed updates it shows: Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2817430) 32-Bit Edition
But when I check for new updates, "ServicePack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 (KB2850036) 32-Bit Edition" is ready for download and install.
What is the difference between KB2817430 and KB2850036?
It seems that I cannot download KB2850036 and also integrate it in the silent installation.
Another question: Is the updates folder from Office only for servicepacks? or can I put also updates and patches MSP files in here? If yes then i've got a lot of files with the same name and different files sizes. For example After extracting SP1 I've got
the file "proofsp-en-us.msp" which is 10MB and when extracting another patch also i've got a proof-en-us.msp and is 8MB.
So which one need to go in the updates folder?
    Can anyone help me out?
    thanks

    Hi,
As can be seen from below KB articles, KB2817430 only contains Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Office 2013, whereas KB2850036 also contains Service Pack 1 (SP1) updates for other Office 2013 related desktop products. For example, Microsoft Office 2013
Language Pack, Project 2013, SharePoint Designer 2013, Office Proofing Tools 2013, etc.:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2850036
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2817430
So if you have any of these products on your computer, Windows Update might offer related updates to you.
Regarding the Updates folder issue, you can put any Office software updates in it during the initial installation, such as service packs or hotfixes. A newer patch might make changes to a specific file, you can check the version number of that file, and keep
the newer one in the folder.
Here is the reference you will need:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2011/05/05/using-the-updates-folder-to-deploy-software-updates-with-an-office-2010-installation.aspx
(Note, it was created against Office 2010, however the steps should hold good for Office 2013)

after doing an 'archive and install', the apple spell check doesn't work no more. whatever program i use with the spell check activated will give me a failure notice as soon as i start typing "spell check could not be detected" (or sthg similar, i get the message in german). the result is a close-to-freeze of that program until i 'okay' the notification.
anybody an idea how to properly (re-)instal the spell check so that my OS recognizes it?

  • Error Message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am
    getting an error message.
Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?
I am getting the following error message:
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

    Hi bucaroov,
The error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found." means the ReportServerURL configured in the ReportViewer control is invalid.
Please follow these steps to solve the issue:
    Logon the Report Server machine.
Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
Copy the Report Server URL from 'Web Services URL'.
Logon the application server(in this case, it is the server that host the web page), check if we can use the URL we got from step 3 to access the Report Server. If so, please replace the ReportServerURL in the ReportViewer control with this URL. If it is
not available, could you please post the error message.
Additionaly, we don't need to provide the extension for a server report. The ReportPath should be like: /<reports folder>/<report name>

  • Save and Close button issue in CRM 2013 for Activity Type Appointment

    Hi All,
Have come across a strange behavior in CRM 2013 and would like  to be sure that it really is an issue which others have encountered too.
Open a Case record, and click on Activity navigation link to see the Open Activity Associated View. Then try creating an Activity of type Meeting and click on
Save & Close button (not just Save). When you refresh the view, the activity might show up. But repeat the same steps and create another Activity of Type Meeting and this activity will not show up. It doesnt show up even in the All Activities
view. Seems like the activity does not get created when using Save and Close button.
This behavior is replicated even on online 30 day trial version. Any inputs?
    Regards,
    Yogesh

The problem only occurs when your appointment times clash.   "Save and close" just throws the appointment away.  "Save" tells you about clash (or perhaps it's just unavailability) and allows you to ignore and continue with the
    save.

  • Windows Server 2012R2 kerberos authetication failure with IBM iSeries

    Hi all,
I've an IBM iSeries in my environment configured to use kerberos authentication, this type of SSO works fine from 2 years. Every client Windows 7 or Windows 8 works fine.
Now I'm planning to deploy Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012R2.
I've made a lot of attempts:
    Windows 2012 -> works
    Windows 8 -> works
Windows 2012R2 -> does not works
Windows 8.1 -> does not works
All the server and workstation involved in thees attempts belong to the same OU and the same user are utilized.
It seems clear to me that Windows 8.1 / 2012R2 has a different behaviour with kerberos authentication but I don't found anything on the technet.
Please note that all DC are Windows server 2008R2 by two years.

Hi, any news for your problem ?
This setup should work ok.. Any firewall running on the 2012R2 or 8.1 ? did you checked the security log on the DC to see why the ticket was refused ? etc..

This issue occurs if the URL under the Group Policy setting 'Specify intranet Microsoft update service location' is invalid.

  • CRM 2013 - "Save and Close" button behavnig like "Save and New"

    Hi,
I am working in CRM 2013. I have a scenario in which I am saving new opportunity product record through javascript and preventing original save of CRM. Save is working fine. After save, I need to refresh the screen. So I have used "Xrm.Utility.openEntityForm"
to open newly created item in edit mode. When I click on "Save and Close" button on this new form in edit mode, instead of closing the opportunity product screen, it opens new entity form. So in short, after saving the record, if I click on "Save
and Close", it behaves like "Save and New".
    Any one facing such issue?

Save & Close seems to behave like the Save & "Back" Button, so the form tries to return to the new form, that was opened before.
But I have no solution for this behavior...

  • Server 2012R2 -- RDS Farm with XP and Windows Vista Clients

    Hi There,
My team has been having some fun in getting our Server 2012R2 farm operational, annoyingly MS documentation is severely lacking on how to correctly configure a 2012R2 Farm correctly.
We have an RDG1-TCC server, which is the RDGateway, RDConnection Broker and RDWeb Server. We have two session host servers RDS1-TCC and RDS2-TCC.
It took us some time and much online research to figure out exactly how we needed to configure the RDS server as a lot of information online for 2012R2 was apparently incorrect(was based on 2008R2 practices). We started off with using a DNS Round Robin for
the RDS Session hosts servers and after a number of certificate issues, we later found this was incorrect. We're now using RDWeb exclusively, which appears to be the correct way to have the Connection Broker working?
We've ran into a number of issues with certificates too, we have an external certificate for remote.domain.com. Installing this on all 4 options in the certificate manager has made internally work correctly via RDWeb, however externally we are getting a
certificate mismatch as it's trying to connected to RDG1-TCC with a certificate for remote.domain.com. I'm pretty sure I can resolve this with a replacement remote.domain.com certificate that includes a SAN for *.domain.internal. Testing with a self signed
certificate seemed to resolve this issue.
Now providing i've configured everything the correct way, we have an issue where RDWEb RDP files do not work internally or externally for XP, Vista or Windows 7 (With RDP7.1). Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 with RDP 8/8.1 updates work perfectly fine. Unfortunately
this new client has a few XP machines that they are not willing to update just yet.
Is there a known fix/workaround to get these older clients working correctly?
Sorry for the extremely long post, but I'm sick of banging my head against the wall trying to get something that we assumed would have been fairly simple to get up and running.
    Cheers,
    Ben

Thanks for the assistance so fat, now I have all clients connecting, I need to tackle the certificate issues.
The UC SAN certificate is going to cost much more than the current certificate, currently that idea is on the back burner as the client does not wish to pay a few hundred extra.
    To quickly sum things up:
AD DNS(internal DNS) override in place for remote.domain.com.au pointing it to the internal IP of the gateway/connection broker/RDWeb server.
Connecting Internally its working perfectly fine under all circumstances (I'm guessing this is because of Kerberos Auth)
When users connect externally via RDWeb they get a certificate missmatch as the cert is for remote.domain.com.au and the server is RDG1-TCC.domain.com.net
When users connect externally via MSTSC using the Gateway option, they get a certificate missmatch as per the above, however they also receive a second "certificate is not trusted" error for whatever RDS server they hit.
I have tried the below previously and they broke other things:
"Change published FQDN for Server 2012 or 2012 R2 RDS Deployment."
This resolved the external certificate issue. However then internal connections stopped working. When connecting via RDWeb, you would get asked for credentials instantly and no matter what you entered, it just asked for credentials again.
There did not seem to be ANY event logs for this connection.
"Changing RDP-Tcp listener on RDSH to use external certificate."
I can't recall the exact error we had when we did this, but I know we had to roll back the change. I have a feeling we then started getting certificate missmatch errors on the Session Hosts.
I'm half thinking that when the farm is free(Currently being used for application UAT), I'm going to try and reconfigure the RDP-Tcp listener on the RDSH servers again and see if that resolves one or more of our issues.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can use the correct published FQDN name without breaking internal access? Or any other ideas on getting this entire thing working both internally and externally?
Also, Dharmesh, I've tried clearing out the certificate cache as suggested, but to no avail.
