Office deploy to users in Building (A) but not in Building (B)!

We're trying to deploy Office to 60 users, some are in building
A and some are in building B, both are on our network (One Domain) and they can access all of our share folders and our Group
Policy is applied for both, they can ping each other, when we deploy office all of the Users/Computers in building
A gets the upgrade which is uninstalling old version of Office and install Office 2010 32bit, but none in building B gets
the upgrade, already checked building B Users/Computers they can see the Office_Deployment
share and they can read and write, already checked the Resultant Set of Policy
on some Computers in building B,
I can see that the Policy is applied and the
office.bat file is in the startup folder,
but still nothing is installing for all users in building B?
The building B is connected to Building A by a Fiber
Optic and they have very fast internet.
Both building have same Subnet, Gateway.
Any idea why?

I did run the Script manually .. Not running,
I started the setup.exe manually .. installed fine!
FYI .. I was wrong .. some computers in building B got the upgrade fine.
Maybe a Firewall Rules?, I verified that the Firewall is OFF .. but maybe I need to change someting in the Inbound or Outbound Rules?

Goto t-code SCOT; double-click SMTP and specify the mail-host and mail-port for the respective mail server.
Make the ‘Node in use’ check box as checked.
Click on the ‘Internet->set’ button under ‘Supported address types’ to specify the email-address of the recipient
Specify the email-address of the recipient who is going to receive the alert mails.
Specify ‘*’ in case of multiple email-ids.
Goto Menu->Settings->Default Domain and specify the domain id of the company.
Save the settings done in SCOT.
Next you need to define the Alert rools.

Super users able to approve but not receive the alerts.

Hello,
When our customer logs into SAP Business One they get loads of alerts regarding approvals as they are in the approval list.
The customer was asking, if they remove themselves from the list of approvals so that they do not get the alerts. As a super user could they still be able to go into approvals to approve. The user was a super user.
This was tested, the result of which showed that if they were to take off their approvals they would not get the message but also they would not be able to approve either.
The customer suggested that this would be a useful addition to SAP if super users could go in to approve but not get all the alerts related to approvals.

Account to your description, one your test Exchange account
with POP mode cannot receive emails. If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.
If yes, I’d like to confirm if the issue happens internally or externally. And I also recommend the following troubleshooting:
Check if it can receive emails when you configure the account without POP or IMAP mode.\
Restart your IIS.
Check if the issue happens on others.

Office Web Apps - working in other browsers but not Internet Explorer

Hi there,
I have office web apps on my SharePoint 2013 environment. The previews work file when hovering next to a document but if I try to open it, I get "Sorry, we ran into a problem". It looks as though Excel files open okay but I
have tested Word and Powerpoint documents and I get this error. Also, it only appears to happen in Internet Explorer - Google Chrome and Firefox are okay. Any ideas?

Thanks for the advice. I installed the hoftix (on the OWA server) and now it appears to really be broken - nothing is opening using office web apps anymore.

Windows 8 and User Rights - Access store but not install other programs

Hi, I wonder if someone can help,
I am trying to find out if it is possible through Active Directory to set up a group policy so that a user will be able to install apps from the windows store but be unable to install any other applications. I have seen that the store can be enabled or disabled
from windows server 2012, but have yet to find out if this is sufficient to allow store installs but no other external applications.

Deploying web dynpro java application successfully but not working

Hi all,
I have a web dynpro java application. When I deployed in my local portal (7.10 SP6) it is working fine. But when I deployed in another portal (7.10 SP2) it is not working totally. In system default trace I saw below exception:
Failed to create deployable object 'sap.com/a1sbicbc~unv' since it is not a Web Dynpro object.
It seems that the web dynpro application was not deployed anymore, but in deployment UI I can see the package was deployed without any errors.
In this situation, is there any other portal/java engine configuration which may prevent the web dynpro application being deployed? For example deployment or security policy, etc?
Looking forward for replies.

I'm having timeline playback issues on one user on an iMac but not on another

Ok, I'm stumped. The iMacs we have here at the high school are set up through active directory and on the Admin account, premiere performs fantastic. On the student accounts however, it has this weird playback issue where it will play for about a second and then stop. You can keep pushing play but it keeps stopping. The app doesn't crash but playback is really bad.

Read logged in user-works in Delphi7 but not in Delphi 2010

I have some code I wrote a while back in Delphi 7 - simple program to read a currently logged in user IDs, read available class definitions, read some user attributes - relatively simple stuff. I am now trying to move to Delphi 2010 and the very same code that works on Delphi 7 does NOT work on Delphi 2010. The code was updated to compile and run on Delphi 2010, so it executes with no errors.
I am using NWDSWhoAmI to get the currently logged in user name and NWDSRead to retrieve user attribute values. On Delphi 7, the code works, all API return "Success" and return correct values. In Delphi 2010, all APIs return "Success" but the code act as if I am not logged in - the username returned is "[Public]" and when I try reading attribute values I get $8884 - RESOLVE SVC FAILED (also may mean I am not authenticated to the NDS tree).
The environment is XP and Novell Client 4.91 on the workstation, NW6.5 on the server (one sever tree). The code runs under the currently logged in user with full admin rights in the tree and Novell Client configuration on both workstations is identical. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

since both Delphi versions go through the same DLLs it must be a difference
in the code - possibly different variable implementation as 16/32 bit or
signed/unsigned vars
It is good practice to use the NWLibrary defined variable types instead of
native Delphi types.

CMC: user must update save but not modify report with webi

Hi experts,
I'm on BO platform 4.0SP2 fp10.
I would like to know if it is possible to enable a user a user to update data in a report, save report but disable it to modify report structure and query.
In a folder the user must be able to update the report and prompt, then he must save it, but I don't want him to modify report with webi.

By not modifying the report with WebI, do you mean that the user shouldn't have access to WebI Rich Client?
What kind of update would the user have to do on a report once the report is available in a folder?

User Discovery attribute added but not showing up in v_R_User

Hi - working in 2007 here. I added two attributes for user discovery, mail and telephoneNumber. v_r_User.mail0 column came in fine but tel # did not show up. Can someone point me to where I should troubleshoot this? Thanks.

Yea, I didn't mention that. The log only said it failed to get the optional attributes. It ended up being right under my nose. The container set was the root and was set to exclude groups. So that attribute was not available
in the location it was searching. As soon as I set to include groups I kicked off a discovery, re-ran the select for v_r_user and the column was there and starting to populate.

Orphan users and deleting logins but not users

First off I'm sorry if this was already posted. I've researched for the last two hours and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.
So its to my understanding then when you delete a Server Login, if you have a user that uses that Login and THAT LOGIN only, once you delete the login the user is now an orphan user.
I've been running the orphan user sp (

but recently I've deleted a login, the user still exists on the database, but it should now be an orphan user right? I know for a fact this user is not in any other group, and it should be an orphan user. So why isn't it? :(

Your question may be that sp_change_users_login didn't detect an orphan user scenario? If so, I would recommend checking sys.server_principals and sys.database_principals to verify for certain (and if you have a reproduction of the exact issue, please post
here).
Here is a demo that walks through the by-design behavior (dropping login will not equate to dropping a user, and that user will be an orphaned user).

Why does Proxy Authentication prompt for user/pass on Win7 but not XP?

Trying to use NTLM authentication for our proxy through Firefox 7.0.1. It works great in Windows XP - the user doesn't ever get prompted for his username or password when going to the internet. However, when using the same settings with Windows 7 machines going to the same internet sites, they always get prompted for username and password. Is there a workaround for this? Is this a bug?

Beta user on one computer but not on another

I have Beta version 16.0 on one computer on one computer but on another computer its regular version 15.0.1. Bookmarks are not synching. How do i get both versions the same?
