Office web apps is working in Chrome not in IE
When I attempt to open a document using office web apps in IE, its throwing error like "sorry there was a problem and we can't open this document", I I open the same document using google Chrome I can able to open and edit the document too?
Any help please?
Thanks,
-SendilHi,
I understand that you fail to open a document using office web apps in IE, but the document can be opened in Google Chrome.
I can suggest you to reset Internet Explorer settings. If system is Windows 8, we can
follow these steps:
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap or click
Search. Enter Internet options in the search box, and then tap or click
Settings.
In the search results, tap or click Internet Options. Tap or click the Advanced tab and then tap or click
Reset
In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings window tap or click Reset
Close and then restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.
If system is Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP, we can reset Internet Explorer automatically.

TouchSmart web apps not working
The web apps are not working. I have tried resetting printer by unplugging and re connecting. I have turned off the wireless connection and I have removed web services and re initiated nothing works. They worked before and thing has changed I do not understand?
hp photosmart premium c310
error message is: touchsmart web app not responding. Please retry later. ( I have)
I am using windows 7
printer is connected wireless
I installed the software and drivers
I had a customized email till I removed and re added now its generic.Hi Big_Will,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that the printable apps on the front panel of your Photosmart Premium C310 printer are unresponsive.
Are you still having the same issue? If yes, please try setting a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screen shots, on how to do this. Don’t worry that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.
If after setting the manual IP address and DNS servers and the apps are still unresponsive, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

I recent did a database restore of SP 2013 production databases to SP 2013 Dev environment
Created blank databases in Dev environment restored production databases
Created web applications removed default database and mounted the web app database to respective web apps
My web app name is SPlist with host header splist and I created a host header DevSplist for the same web app in Development environment devsplist
Created DNS record and disabled loopback and I can browse devsplist with production content database attached to it in development environment.
Issue:
I did the same this with thing with second web splis2 attached the content database and created the web app with same name and host header devsplist2 , when I try to access the site I am prompted for authentication and then I gent an error
file not found.
I am confused same procedure worked for the first web app and not for the second
Thanks
ZatangWhy do we have devintranet.comapnayname.local. This is totally incorrect
Are you able to browse
devintranet.local/_layouts/viewlsts.aspx
Something on the page might be redirecting the site
Also remove devintranet.companyname.local
Keep it either devintranet.companyname.local
or devintranet.local

Google Maps web app not working??
I have not (for obvious reasons) bothered much with web apps since the original iPhone but given the current (and in my view, somewhat overblown) furore over Apple Maps, I thought I would put try out the Google Maps web app on my recently purchase iPhone 5. Weirdly, however, it doesn't work. The app itself loads but I am presented with a blank page and nothing happens when I click the target icon. This happens in both 3G and wifi. Location Services is on (and I am using O2 in the UK). Anyone got any ideas? I'm scratching my head over this.... Thanks in anticipation
Presumably you have already tried un-installing this application and re-installing prior to posting?

Outlook web app not working properly in Safari since switching to Yosemite
I have installed/upgraded to Yosemite first on my MacBook Air (13-inch, 2011) and then on my IMac 13.2 (27inch, 2012). In both cases I have experienced the same thing: when trying to attach a file to the message written using the Outlook Web App, I get only upper part of this window and while I can browse for the file, I cannot attach it as I cannot reach and click the "attach file" button. Needless to say this is really annoying!
I did not have this problem before upgrading to Yosemite and Safari 8. The same function still works if I use Firefox or Opera.
Anyone had similar problems and any suggestions how to go around it without switching back to the old OS X?

OSX 10.6.8
Safari 5.1 (6534.50)
I could zoom in once and then it wouldn't work anymore by using the pinching on the Magic Trackpad.
Pressing Command and +/- still worked.
I deleted Safari 5.1 and reinstalled the Combo Update to get 5.0.5 back and it worked properly again.
Then I installed 5.1 another time and had the same error again.
I guess I got to roll back to 5.0.5 -
Simple Web App NOT working with JBoss on IDEA IntelliJ
Hi Experts:
I am using TOMCAT_4.0.3 (bundled with JBOSS_3.0.0) and using IntelliJ-IDEA as my IDE environment.
On one of my machine I created a WEB-APP kithany.war. It was working fine on this machine.
Later when I copied this kithany.war to other machine and put under server/default/deploy directory and then ran Jboss on which I get following error - wonder why?

THANKS!Hello, manojkithany!
Did you find out what was wrong? I am experiencing this problem with the jboss http-invoker.sar and the jmx-console.war...
Both machines have the same environment. I found this exception with jobss3.04-tomcat bundle as well as with jobss3.06-tomcat bundle.

Exchange Office Web Apps Preview Does not work in OWA (web)
I have setup Exchange 2013, Lync 2013, SharePoint 2013, IIS as a Reverse Proxy Server, an Office Web Apps Server, etc, etc. Everything is setup to use SSl (https) and everything works great EXCEPT... Office Web Apps... and ONLY via Exchange and OWA (exchange
browser-based access).
I can login via the intranet or Internet for everything (SharePoint, Outlook, and Lync) and Office Web apps functionality works flawlessly for all... except for Exchange and OWA.
If I login in to a web-based Exchange seeion, everything works right and I can see the various attachments.
For all other scenarios, Office Web Apps works (SharePoint, Outlook, Lync, etc), but in owa (web version of Outlook) I see that Office Web Apps is triggered (I see the Office Web Apps text and the dots that indicate something is loading)... However, it just
crashes and eventually times out (see image):
If I look in the error logs for the Web Apps Server I see this:
Essentially, it looks like that owa uses a distinctly different path to load the attachments into the Web Apps Server such that the file is not found!
What is happening? Why does Exchange OWA (web version of Outlook) somehow use a different path that fails to locate attachments in Office Web Apps, but Lync, Outlook, and SharePoint (both in Intranet and Internet) work perfectly?
This is VERY frustrating. Can anyone help?
Please?
Clearly, the reverse proxy is working, the certificates are working, OAuth is working, etc. It seems there must be some variable/path that is only defined in Exchange for OWA that uses a different path for Office Web App attachments and that path is WRONG!
Please, help!

Office Web Apps 2013: SSLOffLoad, Cannot connect Sharepoint.
Hi,
Background.
We have a 2 machine SharePoint 2013 farm and a 2 machine Office Web Apps Farm, both of which are behind a load balancer. Our public DNS holds the records for the two farms: webapps.company.com and sharepoint.company.com. However these domains are not in
the internal DNS and cannot be resolved internally. I've put these in the hosts file on the respective machines, so they can talk to each other.
I'm now at the point where I need to connect SharePoint to the OWA farm. I've followed the guide here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219455%28v=office.15%29.aspx
and setup the OWA farm by the specification under the heading "Deploy a multi-server, load balanced, office web apps server farm that uses HTTPS".
My creation string
New-OfficeWebAppsFarm -InternalUrl https://machinename.domain.com -ExternalUrl https://webapps.comapny.com -SSLOffloaded -EditingEnabled
That went ok and the farm is created. I then added the second machine
New-OfficeWebAppsMachine -MachineToJoin "machinename.domain.com"
Now that the farm is created i went ahead and ran
New-SPWOPIBinding -ServerName machinename.company.com
But that just gave me "WARNING: The Server did not respond. Trying again"
Adding the -AllowHttp flag let me continue, but that ended up giving me error when i created or opened a document in Sharepoint.
So my guess is that i need to figure out why i cannot use New-SPWOPIBinding -ServerName machinename.company.com without -AllowHTTP.
It was my understanding that we don't have to setup SSL on the individual farm server as the load balanser woudl take care of that.
Any ideas as to why New-SPWOPIBinding -ServerName machinename.company.com won't work?
Thank you for taking the time to read my post
Regards.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/19039.sharepoint-2013-how-to-enable-office-web-apps-to-work-in-both-internal-and-external-environments.aspx
Because I’ve not configured my OWA machine to be published to the Internet so I have to use its Internet-public IP. It’s not a recommended best practice. In your case, the external URL would be http://owa.abc.com
. Above I’m not using SSL certificate
to encrypt data over the Internet. Just add CertificateName parameter if you want to use whether CA-issued certificate
or self-signed certificate. Finally, check both internal URL (http://app03/hosting/discovery
) and external URL (http://198.xxx.xxx.xxx/hosting/discovery
) to confirm everything is working
well. Your screen should display XML structure.
Now you need to re-bind all SharePoint machines to WAC farm using New-SPWOPIBinding (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219441.aspx
). Next, you just need to set the WOPI
zone for external use even there is an internal use in your SharePoint environment.
1
Set-SPWOPIZone –zone “external-http”
Finally, configure Excel service and then upload an Excel workbook into a document library and check it. Below are the screenshots of OWA working on both internal and external environment.

Exchange and Office Web Apps Integration - Wrong Url to Outlook Web App port 444
Hi,
I'm trying to setup Office Web Apps integration with Exchange 2013. Office Web Apps are working fine with SharePoint 2013 and the WAC servers are listed as in a healthy state.
When trying to open an office document from OWA I get the usual "Sorry...we ran into a problem. Please try again"
However I have noticed that the URL that OWA is passing WAC is in the format: https://exchangeservername.domain.com:444/owa/[email protected]/wopi/files...
This is the backend server address! All the internal and external urls for owa, ecp, ews etc are set to https://mail.domain.com and they all seem to be working fine. Client Access and Mailbox roles are on the same server.
If I change the url to https://mail.domain.com/owa/[email protected]/wopi/files... then the office file opens correctly in Office Web Apps
How do I correct the URL that OWA is sending Office Web Apps?
Thanks!Hi DJL,
If everything works well except open document via OWA, it seems Exchange server 2013 has been configured correctly.
Please follow me to check Office Web Apps Server settings and Integration.
OWAS settings
1. Certificate:
Come from a trusted CA, include FQDN of OWAS farm in SAN field.
Exportable private key.
Friendly name must be unique within Trusted Root Certificate Authorities store.
2. Farm:
New-OfficeWebAppsFarm with following parameters
-InternalURL is the FQDN of the server that runs OWAS
-ExternalURL is the FQDN so that OWAS can be access on the Internet
-CertificateName is the friendly name of the certificate to be used for HTTPS
3. Explore this URL https://mail.domain.com/hosting/discovery
If OWAS works well, you can see a WOPI-discovery XML file in web browser.
Integration
1. Configure OWAS URL via EMS,
Set-OrganizationConfig –WACDiscoveryEndpoint https://mail.domain.com/hosting/discovery
2. WAC stands for Web Access Components.
Check App Log the 140 and 142 Event IDs for MSExchange OWA.
142 means the discovery of the OWAS was successful, 141 means something went wrong.
3. Enable OWAS.
By default, OWA Virtual Directory is already enable WAC Viewing on both public and private computer.
Please run "Get-OwaVirtualDirectory | FL *wac* "to check whether both “WacViewingOnPublicComputersEnabled” and “WacViewingOnPrivateComputersEnabled” parameter is True.
4. Method to collect logs on OWAS.
Run following command in OWAS powershell prompt:
Get-OfficeWebAppsFarm | FL *log*

Hi,
I found a thread in this forum With an answere to a similiar question here:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/28bc1e27-4a65-4c61-9b3e-cb9dad17f779/office-web-apps-preview-sharepoint-2010-documents-in-sharepoint-2013-search-results?forum=sharepointsearch&prof=required
...With the answere:
"OWA uses an access token to talk to SharePoint 2013. It cannot use this when talking to 2010. In order to work with 2010, you have to create a custom display template that converts the file url to an openurl link. "
BUT...
may anyone give more information how to do this?
Links to articles? Links to description and samples?
jikHi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to preview documents from SharePoint 2010 in search results in SharePoint 2013.
Per my knowledge, the Office Web Apps is configured to work with SharePoint 2013, so it will not work with documents in SharePoint 2010.
I recommend to configure Office Web Apps to work with SharePoint 2010
and make sure that documents can be previewed in SharePoint 2010 using Office Web Apps to see if the documents can be previewed in SharePoint 2013 search result.

Sharepoitn 2013 - Office Web Apps Licensing
Dears,
I do have the license key with me for the office web apps 2013. The office web apps are working with our SharePoint 2013 portal without any issues. We were able to view the documents but couldn't edit the documents which are hosted in our portal.
How can i apply the license key for office web apps? do i need to execute any power shell commands? please advice.
thanks in advance,
Ammarthanks Steven for your reply and appreciate the same.
but i need to know where exactly i should pass the licensing value as a parameter or the exact way to apply the license.
when i was searching i found the below link:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/microsoft_press/archive/2013/02/04/from-the-mvps-installing-office-web-apps.aspx
under licensing it was mentioned like below:
Licensing
So the Office web apps farm is up and running and you have enabled editing. There is though another step before your users will be able to actually edit documents with Office Web Apps; you need to license the users for editing.
This is achieved by running a series of PowerShell commands on the SharePoint 2013 Central Administration server:
Get-SPUserLicense
$x = New-SPUserLicenseMapping -SecurityGroup <ADsecuritygroup> –License OfficeWebAppsEdit
$x | Add-SPUserLicenseMapping
Enable-SPUserLicensing
Is that correct? is anyone executed the above command?
please advice.
thanks in advance,

Office Web Apps is not working
Hi,
We have tried to deploy Office Web Apps Server but, after a number of tests, we haven't been able to view PowerPoint presentations. We tested "everything" but it didn't work.
Finally, to simplify and focus the problem, we just deployed Office Web Apps Server "on its own", that is: just Internal URL, HTTP, Open From URL Enabled and sharing docs from a shared folder in the same server. So we have:
\\wacserver\share\<Docs> (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
http://wacserver
They work both "/hosting/discovery" and "/op/generate.aspx".
If we try to view Excel doc, it works. If we try to view Word or PowerPoint, id doesn't work.
For PowerPoint, it appears the PowerPoint Web Apps frame (FILE, START SLIDE SHOW, SLIDE - OF -, NOTES...) and, in the center, an animation
"PowerPoint Web App .....". After a couple of minutes, it stops with "Either you've lost network connectivity or our server is to busy to handle your request".
What we have seen from different sources:
FIDDLER
======
/op/view.aspx?... Response 200
/p/PowerPointFrame.aspx?... Response 200
/p/imagehandler.ashx?... Response 202
13 petitions to /p/ppt/view.svc/jsonAnonymous/GetPresentation Response 200
PROCESS MONITOR
==============
There were some folders and registry keys Network Service was trying to access with ACCESS DENIED response. We gave it permissions and they disappeared.
SYSTEM is trying to access some registry keys (SpellingWcfprovider.exe => HKU\S-1-5-18, ImagingService.exe => HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options, and 2 or 3 more). It gets an ACCESS DENIED
but SYSTEM, we have checked, has "Full control" permissions in those keys or folders.
These errors appear by Office Web Server running itself, although we are not making a PowrPoint file request.

Several times, it tries to find the PowerPoint presentation in the caché, doesn't find it, manage to get it but, when trying to put it in the cache, it receives a disk space error:

Not enough disk space to write. Giving up.
PutCacheData Response: [False]
The cache folder has enough disk size and PowerPoint.pptx file is just 30 KB.
It repeats this flow 3 times (as for the first HTTP requests).
During the 2 minutes test (until it fails) there are 14 traces like:
Failed to create process object for pid 7780 with exception System.ArgumentException: Process with an Id of 7780 is not running. at System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcessById(Int32 processId) at Microsoft.Office.Web.Common.RequestPipe.ProcessManager.TryGetProcessObject(Int32
pid).
We have tried a number of things but none has worked. The farm has just one server and it says ist's unhealthy. We have Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. We have read some ways to fix the health, like HTTP Activation feature, but it only works
for Windows Server 2012 as fas as we know.
Has anybody experienced something like this or have a posible solution? Office Web Apps Server should be so easy to deploy but we have spent a lot of time with this.
Thank you very much. Your help will be very appreciated.
Kind regards.Hi John,
According to your description, my understanding is that you cannot view the PowerPoint files in Office Web Apps in SharePoint.
Was there any error when you view the PowerPoint files in Office Web Apps?
You can troubleshoot the error following the link below:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431687.aspx#tshoot
I also recommend to re-configure SharePoint to use the Office Web Apps Server to see if the issue still occurs.

Best regards.
