Update 6/18: I have directed this thread to a manager of Palm's technical team, he advised me that many of these suggestions were forwarded to the development team and most are being worked on/considered. He also confirmed that an update is coming over the next couple weeks that will fix a few issues including the SSL issue with EAS... and there is another update that will fix the MSFP issues (security policies) with EAS email (in around 60 days) It's good to hear that Palm is very responisive to our needs and suggestions.
Update 7/11: Since this thread has received so much attention and ideas I have not been able to post all the different suggestions on this front page. I have put this forum thread in front of several sprint/Palm employees that do have a say in future updates... so please keep posting suggstions! Please also use the link below. Thanks!

  • Adobe flash player 10.1 for Palm Pre mobile

    Hi
Can anyone please tell me when the flash player is available in the UK for the Palm Pre mobile
    thanks

It seems any post or forum that Adobe doesn't like gets "frozen" out when discussing Flash for the Palm Pre.  The missing Palm Pre Flash and the "shift of blame" by Adobe to Palm has been a common theme  (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/2748422#2748422 as an example) is becoming tiresome.
Yet if you ask Palm they tell you its nothing to do with them, why would it be?  That is such a silly dead-end statement that I suspect Adobe are far to embarrassed by what's actually happened.  If they want to prove me wrong then how about they release the flash to me rather than Palm?  LOL now, there's a novel idea!
I suspect this has something to do the popular rise of Android, an operating system for mobiles that was still in design when webOS for Palm Pre was already established.  It appears, and no one denies, that the demo on the Palm Pre, you know the one, the one that made us all go out and get the Palm instead of the iPhone, was an iphoney.
    We have been duped.
While much of the web relies on Adobe technology at the moment the end of their business cycle is in site, not just HTML 5, but sentiment in general.  The lack of respect, clarity, accountability and honesty in the main to blame.

  • Adobe Flash Reader for Palm Pre

there are some web sites that you need the adobe Flash Reader to watch video, is there anyone that knows how to get it on the palm pre? it shows up saying that i need the latest download, can anyone help me?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

The Flash plugin for the Pre is not ready yet. I found a blog post dated today that reports this:
It’s official: Adobe’s CEO, Shantanu Narayen, announced in the Q2 audio press release that a version of Flash Player 10 beta will be available for Smartphone’s browsers starting this October (during Adobe MAX) . The FP10 will be available on Google Android, Nokia Symbian OS, Window Mobile and Palm Web OS Pre browsers.

  • Need Support for Palm Pre Call Waiting

I've had my palm pre for a month about now and notice a number of issues with its call waiting feature that need to be addressed.  Here is the list:
    1) I can't drop 1 call without dropping the other call: this means that if I'm on the phone with person "A" and receive a call from person "B", though I can switch between the two easily enough, I can't end the call between person "A" to talk to person "B".  What's even worse, even if person "A" hangs up, the pre still keeps the call connected until I hang up my phone.  This is a serious issue when you're calling outside of any promotional time, nights, or weekends.
    2) in a conference call, I can't end one conversation without ending both conversation.  So again, if I have both person "A" and person "B" on a call and I connect them through a conference call on my pre, I can't end the conversation with one without ending it with the other.  A real pain in the butt.
I just want to know two things asap since I know this is something that'll take time to resolve (if it can be resolved)
    1) is this a hardware issue or a operating system issue?
    2) does conference calling really kill my minutes the way it look like it does?  I'm leaning toward yes from evidence I have, but I'd like to hear it from the pre reps.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

    1.  This functionality sometimes works and sometimes it does not.  But can you answer the other part of the post.  The PALM pre give the user no one to drop the other call.  Mine is worse.  If the other user hangs up CONFERENCE is still there; If they hang up I'm not in a CONFERENCE but the PRE does not recognize this state at all.  Therefore you can't add another person to the call again.
    2.  This one does not affect me as much since I have the simply everything plan.  But I would def. pay attentiont my bill and complain to SPRINT every time this occurs.
    3.  HAS ANYONE OPENED A TICKET WITH PALM FOR THE CONFERENCE CALL / CALL WAITING ISSUE?

  • [New Game] 3D RPG for Palm Pre - Crusade Of Destiny

    (50% off sale ends TODAY!)
    Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know my new game is now live in the palm catalog.
Crusade Of Destiny is the first ever full scale 3D role playing game for Palm WebOS!
I worked really hard on the game and I was the only developer. I did not have a team or anything so I did everything myself like making the 3d models and animation, drawing all the art, making the music and sound fxs, writing the code, everything except making the logo, which my best friend designed  So I really hope you like it.
If you like the game please leave a 5 star comment to show your support and let me know what you think. It would help a lot, thanks
    Screenshots:
Oh, and yes that's me performing the theme song in the game trailer too. I worked hard y'all

Even if you don't download the game please let me know what you think of the gameplay video. I'm going to be doing an update soon and any feedback will help

I got this game last week and I am still playing it. There is a lot of stuff to do. Worth every penny if you ask me

  • Barcode Reader for Palm Pre

Are there any Barcode Reader apps for the Palm Pre? Thanks!

None yet, because Palm hasn't released support for the camera in the software development kit (SDK). This support (along with support for the microphone and a number of other important capabilities) will be provided in a major update to be released by/in the fall.

  • SHAZAM for PALM PRE

Does the Palm Pre have an APP similar to the Shazam App found on the IPhone?
If so what is the APP called so I can find it in the APP STORE as I have tried to find it there already and am not having any luck!
    Thxs.
BTW......this APP identifies songs that one hears at parties and such but one doesn't know who sings them and/or even the name of the song/songs!
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Another option: if you use an RSS reader, then you can subscribe to the Palm App Catalog, beta, and Web feeds:
There are three different application feeds available.
    Description
    URL
All applications in the Palm App Catalog
    http://developer.palm.com/rss/D/appcatalog.rss.xml
All applications available through web distribution
    http://developer.palm.com/rss/W/appcatalog.rss.xml
    All beta applications
    http://developer.palm.com/rss/B/appcatalog.rss.xml
The feeds are updated every 24 hours at 12:00 midnight GMT; there is no need to consume them more than once a day.
This is taken from this page. Note that sometimes the feed is ahead of the actual distribution of the app; if you click on an app in your RSS reader and get a message that it's not a WebOS application, then just wait for a bit and it will eventually become available.
Also, you can send the app to your phone from the page that the feed links to. You'll get an SMS on your phone with a link to the app.

  • Cases for Palm Pre

Hey guys, sorry if this is in the wrong subforum, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it.
I've been trying to find a good case for my Pre, and I'm really not having any luck.  When I got my first Pre (back in October) I bought the clip-on case sold at Sprint, and it litterally broke within a week.  Then I got another case I found fairly cheap off of Amazon that wore out pretty quickly.  It wasn't anything great, but it got the job done.  In fact, if I could find the same out I'd buy it again.  But, all I'm finding now are very cheap cases with horrible reviews.
Has anyone had any luck with cases?  I would even be willing to spend a little more money on something if I knew it was decent.  I'm not looking for any sort of holdster or clip.. just a clip-on case that I don't have to remove to use the keyboard.  Something with a rubberized feel would be a plus.
    Thanks.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
Sorry to hear about your luck in finding a good Pre Case. I find a lot of different cases on PreCentral's website; here's the link http://store.precentral.net/palm-pre-cases.htm.
I hope this helps you in finding a case you like (and lasts a while).

  • Msn messenger for palm pre?

    Hi
I just bought my palm pre yesterday and I realized it doesn't have any I'm apps. Can I download msn messnger or aold on it? Or what can I do?
Excuse my confusion but this phone is hard to figure out lol
    Thank you for ur help
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

If you just can't wait until Palm gets their act together, go to Precentral.net.
Over there, you can get a plugin that will provide you with MSN Messenger and several other IM Clients.
It's not a website IM, it's truly incorporated into the Pre.
This is totally unoffical and you will not get support from Palm.
But the people there provide excellent help.
These are the developers that are designing and testing out their beta software before it gets to the Palm App Catalog.
I hope this helps anyone that just can't wait for Palm.
    Rob
Remember, it's unoffical, and not supported by Palm!

  • Equivalent To MyPhoneExplorer For Palm Pre?

    Hello all
I've just upgraded to a Palm Pre from a Sony Ericsson K850i. For all its flaws, the ability to use it with MyPhoneExplorer for syncing, as well as sending SMS text messages via my actual computer when the phone is plugged in via USB, made it a fantastic phone.
Although I realise that the Pre will keep itself synced quite happily online or something like that, I'd still like a local program to store the data too in case of a massive system crash or whatnot. I'd also like to have a program which, like MyPhoneExplorer, lets me send SMS text messages from the computer whilst the Pre is plugged in via USB.
Does such software exist or is this currently just a pipedream / unexplored avenue?
Please do let me know. Also, if this is the wrong section, my apologies.
    Kind regards
Post relates to: Pre p100ueu (O2)

This subject has been discussed hundreds of times in the Synergy section of the Forum.  The Pre was not designed to sync with a local computer, but with "The Cloud".
Several third-party authors are trying to supply a local sync solution.  Please see this post:

  • Bluetooth keyboard and support for palm pre

Has anyone heard any word on when and if the palm bluetooth keyboard will be usable on the palm pre.  I have been a palm user since the first device.  I am an attorney and switched from my Treo 650 to the pre.  I love the pre but many of the applications that I used in business with the treo, are now either not supported or not available for the pre.  The two most important of these would be bluetooth keyboard support & memo support and syncing with the pre.  Does anyone have any thoughts?  I have heard no discussion regarding use of the bluetooth keyboard witht the pre.  I also don't understand why any of the current pre sync third party solutions have not addressed the syncing of memos/notes from outlook to the pre.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Just bought a Palm Pre Plus (Verizon) and tried to connect it w/ my Palm Bluetooth Keyboard but with no luck. The Pre did find the Bluetooth Keyboard and tried to Pair the two devices, but the pairing failed.  I do hope that Palm allows this pairing to occur, as I won't purchase Word to Go (which has been a mainstay of mine on all my previous Palm devices) until I know that I can use the keyboard.

  • Extended Life Battery for Palm Pre

I apologize if this has already been cussed and discussed. I searched for an answer but didn't find it.
If I were to buy and install an extended life battery for my Pre, will that void or otherwise affect my warranty. I've had my Pre about 2 months and like except for constantly recharging the battery. I found a battery that supposedly has 126% capacity of the standard phone.
I called customer service but I'm not convinced he understood my question.
    Thanks
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

yeah....i'm sure it would work, but 1750 won't get you that much more life. this is what i got:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-BATTERY-CHARGER-VERIZON-HTC-DROID-INCREDIBLE-/250637825293?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5b2db50d
15 bucks and you'll never have to plug in the phone again. you'll have 3 batteries to rotate. i jus chage the battery when i get up each morning.
