  • System is not coming up in MSCS environment after offline backup from DB13

    Hi All,
    SAP system is not coming up after DB offline backup from DB13.
    Here are the details of system. SAP XI 3.0 SR1 NW04 running on Microsoft clustered environment windows 2003 and Oracle 9.2.0.6.
    My observations:-
    1. All the services of cluster admin was up except XE1.World when DB offline backup completed (executed through DB13).
    2. services.msc entry OracleXE1920TNSListener (automatic start) and OracleServiceXE1 (automatic start) was down.
    and sqlplus "/as sysdba" was failing with ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.
    Please note gw/netstat_once parameter is alredy there with value 0.
    Further I would like to add, when I started cluster admin service XE1.World by right click - bring online, services.msc entry OracleServiceXE1 came up, but OracleXE1920TNSListener was still down, then I started listener from cmd mode lsnrctl start.
    Kindly suggest.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Portege R500 with XP: Offline files from server do not work

    I have a strange problem with a brand new R500 with XP installed. Offline files does not work: I can copy files down from servers, but when I attempt to copy back, I get an error
    "Offline Files (XXX on YYY): Access to ZZZ is denied on ZZZ."
    where XXX is either a samba share or a normal windows share. I have all the permissions to access those files, and can edit them if I go online without synchronising offline changes.
    I would ask this on the XP group, but I've +never+ seen this on any other laptops I've used (including Toshiba). Offline files to these servers still works for me on an older laptop (running an up to date XP), using the same account details and even using the roaming profile. Its also not related to any of the standard Offline files problems that are turned up on Microsoft's Knowledge Base.
    What more can I test - this problem seems specific to this laptop, and if I can't use offline files, the machine is practically useless to me (modulo paying for, and then setting up an equivalent piece of software).
    Should I try uninstalling TrueSuite for example?
    Anthony

    I have disabled the TrueSuite File Protection and now offline files work.
    This would seem to be really important limitation to the software, and I can't find any supporting documentation about TrueSuite, nor any updates for it.

  • Offline Backup in DB13? or UNIX?

    Hi Everyone,
    I will be running BRBACKUP offline the first time. I wish to get opinions from experts that have perform this before.
    1. If I run this in DB13, is there any potential problem? BR*Tools is 6.40(42) on R/3 46C.
    2. If I run this in DB13, will SAP be started automatically, be it failure or success? This is a single SAP system, does RECONNECT work automatically? Or I have to do some settings?
    3. Is this BRBACKUP command good enough? My database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode
    >> brbackup -u / -c force -t offline_force -m all -p initPRD.sap.tsm -v T
    4. Where can I find more information on RECONNECT?
    My preference is performing it thru DB13, however I am not too sure how good this method is.

    Hi Anne,
    1. If I run this in DB13, is there any potential problem? BR*Tools is 6.40(42) on R/3 46C.
    DB13 drives brbackup at the kernel level, there is no problem running your backups using DB13. SAP has provided you the interface to manage the backups.
    2. If I run this in DB13, will SAP be started automatically, be it failure or success? This is a single SAP system, does RECONNECT work automatically? Or I have to do some settings?
    If you are running offline backups from DB13, then the database will shutdown, you will be disconnected from SAPGui after the backup starts running and the SAP work processes will be in reconnect status, waiting for database to be open.
    It will work automatically, once the backup is complete, the SAP will come up.
    3. Is this BRBACKUP command good enough? My database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode
    >> brbackup -u / -c force -t offline_force -m all -p initPRD.sap.tsm -v T
    The command is:
    brbackup -u / -c force -t offline_force -m all -p init<SID>.sap
    Where init<SID>.sap is your SAP profile used to drive the brbackup.
    4. Where can I find more information on RECONNECT?
    You can monitor your backup logs in the backup directory:
    /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup
    and the work process status in SAP Work directory:
    /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSNN/work
    Once the application comes up, you can look at SM21 to check the status that the work processes were when the backup was running.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Nisch

  • OFFLINE backup and DB13 jobs configuratins error in MSCS cluster with OFS

    Hello,
    We have recently installed SAP ERP 6.0 EhP4 SR1 in MSCS cluster using Oracle Fail Safe.
    The installation is successful and all the failover scenarios work fine.
    I need to schedule offline backups and DB13 jobs, which is not possible in current scenario as once the database shuts down it fails over to node2.
    I am following sapnote 657999 to install standalone gateway on both the nodes of the cluster and assigned the service to ORACLE<SID> group. the gw<SID> is different from the ERP<SID>.
    However, the  service SAP<gwSID>_<gwSN> fail to come up with the following error.
    The service SAPSGA_30 cannot be started on local computer
    error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly.
    The ../SapCluster/sapgw and associated directories have full permission.
    Following are the contents of the profiles in ../SapCluster/sapgw
    default.pfl
    SAPDBHOST = ORACLEPRD
    gw30.pfl
    SAPSYSTEMNAME = SGA
    INSTANCE_NAME = GW30
    SAPSYSTEM = 30
    DIR_PROFILE=C:\WINDOWS\SapCluster\sapgw
    DIR_EXECUTABLE=C:\WINDOWS\SapCluster\sapgw
    DIR_INSTANCE=C:\WINDOWS\SapCluster\sapgw
    SAPLOCALHOST = ORACLEPRD
    SAPLOCALHOSTFULL = ORACLEPRD
    startgw.pfl
    SAPSYSTEMNAME = SGA
    INSTANCE_NAME = GW30
    SAPSYSTEM = 30
    DIR_EXECUTABLE = C:\WINDOWS\SapCluster\sapgw
    DIR_PROFILE = C:\WINDOWS\SapCluster\sapgw
    DIR_INSTANCE = C:\WINDOWS\SapCluster\sapgw
    _GW=gwrd.exe
    Start_Program_00 = local $(DIR_EXECUTABLE)\$(_GW) pf=$(DIR_PROFILE)\gw30.pfl
    Now as the service is a part of my ORACLE<ERP SID> group, everytime I try to bring the group online, it fails due to the gw service and toggles many times in the two nodes before coming to rest on one node withfailed gw service and database in the  up condition.
    Any insight in this regard will be really helpful.
    Thanks
    Nischal

    Hello,
    Yes we were able to configure offline backups.
    We opted to install standalone gateway on both nodes and added it to the DB group. That provides the essential shell console.
    You need to follow the SAP Note 657999 and then 378648 for setting the necessary environment variables.
    One piece of advice, use the SID and system no. for the independent gateway, different from any of your SAP installations.
    Thanks
    Nischal

    Not able to sign into Blackberry Protect.  Backup and Restore function not working. Message is: "Your device isn't associated with a Blackberry ID."  My Blackberry Messenger and Blackberry World is working fine so I am sure its not an ID issue on the phone.  I can sign into Link, Blackberry.com and Protect.  I see my device in Protect but cannot send messages or view it on a map.  Times out with cannot reach device message.  BB Protect on Device has a swirling circle beside the on/of switch.  Cannot turn off.
    I have deleted Link and re-installed.
    I have reset phone to default(factory) and signed in.
    OS level is 10.2.1.3062
    BB Link is 1.2.3.56
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I managed to figure this out myself. I had to delete the device from the Blackberry Protect website.  protect.blackberry.com.  I wiped my device again and signed in with my Blackberry ID.  I dont know if the step of wiping was necessary as I did not try my backup with the current configuration on the device following the delete.  Restore is in progress for me!

    just got an iPad 2 and neither Keynote nor Pages were compatible. when I updated iOS as requisited, the backup from iTunes didn't work. the iPad doesn't connect to iTunes. what do I do?

    Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.
    Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
    iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Consuming PI Webservice from Webdynpro Java Not working

    Hello SAP,
    Environment: CE 7.2.
    Resolution expected immediately, Helpful answer is highly appreciated.
    Is the namespace should not exceed 60char for PI Webservice, for executing the webservice from Webdynpro Java.
    I tried with all the options in executing the PI Service from Webdynpro Java, None of the options worked. I am facing the below error while I was calling the PI Webservice.
    I don't see any problem from Webdynpro Java, what ever the procedure I have followed is the standard procedure.
    Fortunately when I execute the service from Webservice Navigator, it is working as expected. The same webservice when I consume it from Webdynpro Java it is not working
    Options tried so far:
    1) Published the Services to Service Registry and there by consuming the PI Service from Service Registry - Not worked
    2) Tweaked the URL with few options - Not worked (Tweaking the URL, ex: portType, Binding)
    3) Changing the Business Systems in PI and there after calling the service - Not worked
    4) Initializing the code, instead of creating Service Controller and calling the PI Service - Not worked.
    5) Created a Provider System and tried to call the PI Webservice from Provider System - Not Worked
    For all the Options, I am facing the same error which is provided in the screenshot.
    Below procedure which I have followed for calling the PI Webservice:
    1) Created Adaptive Webservice Model
    2) Provided PI Webservice URL (It prompts for PI System UserId and Password)
    3) Selected Option - No Service Group Configuration
    4) Provided Logical Destination
    6) Completed creation of Model
    7) Added the model as a UsedModel
    8) Right Click on Comp Contr. and selected Apply Template and Created a ServiceController for the model (Entire mapping to comp contr, Initializing the nodes is taken care by Service Contr.)
    9) Created an Template Action button and there by calling execute method which is auto rendered from CompContr..
    10) Build the project.
    11) Activated the code and Run the Application.
    12) Getting the below error which is showed in the message.
    ERROR MESSAGE:
    Exception on execution of web service on destination 'GetPIHRPeopleData' for operation 'SI_CreateHRPeopleData_OS' in interface 'SI_CreatePeopleCompany_OS'

    Hi Sankar,
    If the webservice is working fine in the Wsnavigator then there is some problem with importing the webservice in webdynpro for Java. Please check the required parameter for creating the Adaptive Webservice Model. After adding in the used model and compoent controller binding, you need to write code for to execute the webservice model.
    Please check the code for initialization and execution for the webservice and then test it.
    Best Regards,
    Arun Jaiswal

    When I unplug Apple headphones from my MacBook Pro sond from internal speakers not work, and system soud preferences displayed: Output: optical digital out port only

    If you see a red light in the audio output port, then the internal switch is stuck.  Insert the earphone plug a few times and see if you can trip the switch.  If that fails, insert a cocktail stirrer and the like and jiggle it around inside.  If that fails, take it to an Apple store and have the technicians at the genius bar do it for you.
    Ciao.

  • Get-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration Set-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration From Only (still) not working

    Hello,
    I would like to ask a question, hopeing it is resolved in some way and i missed it.
    I have installed SP3 Rollup 4 on our Exchange 2010 server.
    This added 2 new Powershell commands
    Get-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration
    Set-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration
    This can be used to manipulate where mail is stored in the send items.
    Sender - e-mails sent using SendAs or Send-on-Behalf-of permissions are saved only in the Sent Items folder of the Sender (UserA);
    SenderAndFrom – e-mails sent using SendAs or Send-on-Behalf-of permissions are saved in the Sent Items folder of the Sender and the mailbox on which the permissions are assigned (in our example, both UserA and UserB);
    From – e-mails sent using SendAs or Send-on-Behalf-of permissions are saved in the Sent Items folder of only the mailbox on which the permissions are assigned (in our example, UserB)
    What we really want it to use the From only way.
    We use a shared team mailbox and use that as primary, as a second mailbox users get a trusted non shared mailbox. Mail sent from the trusted mailbox should only be in the send items from the actual sender, not both.
    2 sites report that the From field is reserved for Future Use, or bugged and does not work is intened.
    Here is is stated on 1 July 2013
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj884078(v=exchg.141).aspx
    From Reserved for future use. To save the messages sent as this mailbox in the Sent Items folder of this mailbox, use SenderAndFrom value.
    That was on 26 March 2013
    http://www.msexchange.org/kbase/ExchangeServerTips/ExchangeServer2010/OutlookOWA/sent-items-behavior-shared-mailboxes-update.html
    NOTE 1: the From value does not work as expected... It basically performs the same action as the SenderAndFromvalue, meaning it saves the e-mail in both mailboxes. This is still the case in Rollup 5 v2.
    We are on 3 March 2014 now, is this still bugged, did i miss something, or is there an ETA when this will be fixed ?
    Looking foward to any replies.
    Kind regards,
    Jeroen van Velzen

    I am using a shared mailbox (with a disabled account) where I get sent items and also deleted items placed in the right folders.
    I think it’s just a matter of how you configure Outlook. It works well for me in both Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, cached mode and also online mode. You can add a shared mailbox to your Outlook profile in at least two ways where one of them doesn’t work
    but the other does.
    If you add the shared mailbox via the File tab/Account settings/New/ and just enter the e-mail address of the shared mailbox in the Auto Account Setup page. No name, no password, just the e-mail address and click Next and voila “Your e-mail account is successfully
    configured”. After restarting Outlook you will find the shared mailbox below your own in the left pane.
    If you click the inbox ones in the shared mailbox and then open a new mail you will see the shared mailbox display name in the From field. After sending the mail you will see the mail in the Sent Items folder of the shared mailbox. If you delete a mail in
    the shared mailbox you will see it in Deleted items folder of the shared mailbox.
    The prerequisits for this is that you have “full access” and “send as” rights of the shared mailbox.
    This was accomplished without using the Set-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration command.
    We are running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU4.

    And also i have checked with the permissions as suggested by  Mishra, i dont see a great difference among the file permissions.
    Can you be more precise about which files have the s-bit in the bin and lib directories.I see a lot of files and i did verify to an extent and saw that there are no changes in the file permissions, yet again i might have missed on few things.
    I have also logged in as sid<adm> user and ran br stats which was completed successfully and i have also logged into SQL and ran few select queries, which fetch me the results.
    I request all to kindly further help me on this.
    Thanks and regards

  • DB13 jobs not working

    Hi,
    We are not able to execute any jobs from DB13.
    The same can be run from the O.S. level without any issues.
    SAPXPG is working fine.
    Its a 4.7 system on Unix, with Oracle 9.2.0.5.0.
    Pls help.
    Thanks,
    Saba.

    Hi
    You can try these options:
    1. try to connect with <SID>adm in Windows/Unix, execute : brconnect -u / -c -f check  , if you have always the same problem, try to execute sapdba_role.sql with sql
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect /as sysdba
    sql>@sapdba_role SID NT/UNIX
    2. When you configure the backup in db13 that will create the background jb you can see it in sm37, so go to sm37 change the user name on which the ob is running and rerun the job this is because the user at r3 level doesn have the authorization you can do it like this.
    3. But if the user name and password is incorrect with the database user yu can you can check it in st04    -->detail analysis menu -->oracle session. b which user the SAP is running the backup command then check the user exiss in database if exists reset it.
