OIM 10G hide resources from standard request wizard

We have created 65 resources in OIM 10G which must be requested by a custom request page in OIM. This is working fine, now we neet to hide those resources from the standard resourcer self-request page in OIM.
How can we do that ?
is there some kind of fixed filter we can use? (we added a new OBJ field named OBJ_UDF_CATEGORY and this field could be used as a filter)
Thank you.

Found the answer ... mark change the resource type from Application to System .. voila !

  • How to hide subtypes from standard infotype 21 in ECC6.0 ?

    Hi All,
    I encounter the following problem : we've upgraded our customer's SAP HR system from 4.6c to ECC6.0 and new standard subtypes for infotype 21 appear (especially when you press F4 or use the entry help button in transaction PA30) ...
    And our customer askes us to remove these new one ... so I made my research and finded in the IMG : 'BAdI: Set Up Entry Help for Subtypes' ... Then I clicked on it, a window appear and I choose the corresponding line for IT0021 ... but I don't know what to do after that ? I tried to create a new implementation with name terminated by 0021 (like proposed in SAP standard help) but I encountered a blocking message about the Filter type (defaulted at INFTYPA and not modifiable).
    Before that, I found the view V_T591A but it doesn't seems to be indicated to remove line from this table to solve my problem, that's why I continued to investigating and finally find the 'BAdI: Set Up Entry Help for Subtypes'.
    Then I desactivated the Badi and the system asked me a transport request ... now I try to re-enable it and the system ask me a repair key At this time, I didn't make any change in the system.
    I really don't know what to do ... Could you help me ?
    Only one thing makes me happy : I did this in the sandbox system and our other landscape's system are not impacted by my research ... Ouf !
    Have a nice day / afternoon / night !
    Sincerely yours,
    Alexandre.

    I would go more along the way of using a search help exit. In fact for field FAMSA the search help used is the generic H_PAD_T591A_SUBTY so there is a search help exit for that one, HR_H_PAD_T591A_SUBTY_EXIT. I haven't used it still, but there is some documents on how to use and restrict the values you want for a specific Infotype.
    There could be another way, but in the case of the Infotype 0021 i don't think it's possible which is using implicit enhancements in the PAI modules of the screen. Some infotypes are possible to enhance, some aren't i think that 21 is one of the "aren't" ...
    Either way, hope this can be another way to go. Good luck.

  • OIM 10g to 11g upgrade error

    Hi experts,
    While doing upgrade from OIM 10g to OIM 11g, I am not able to upgrade OIM Middletier.
    Steps performed till now
    1. Run OSI Upgrade Utility in OIM 10g.
    2. Export OIM 10g DB Schema from Oracle database version 10.2.0.2.
    3. Run prepare_xl_db.sh and import the OIM 10g Schema to Oracle Database 11.2
    4. Run RCU to create schemas for MDS and SOA in Oracle database 11.2
    5. Install WLS 10.3.5, SOA 11.1.1.5 and IAM 11.1.1.5
    6. Upgrade OIM Schema using Upgrade Assistant Utility
    7. Create WLS Domain for OIM and SOA
    8. Configure OIM(copied .xldatabasekey to config/fmwconfig folder)
    9. Upgrade OIM Middle Tier using Upgrade Assistant Utility
    Upgrade Assistant is failing at step 9 when it is trying to initilize scheduler properties.
    In logs, it says invalid username and password but I am sure I entered correct password for all schemas.

  • Replicating the app functionality from OIM 10g to OIM 11gR2

    Hi,
    I have a resource object with an object form and a process form and approval, provisioning configured in OIM 10g design console. Provisioning is manual provisioning assigned to a particular group based on a task assignment adapter. For replicating the same in OIM 11gR2 i followed the following steps.
    1. Created a Resource object in Design console.
    2. Created a dummy IT Resource ( Since while creating app instance it is having IT Resource as Mandatory field. * Is there any way to skip this as i do not have any IT resource in my original app as it is going for manual provisioning?)*
    3. Created a process form in Design Console with the same fields as present in my 10g app process form.
    4. Now i need to Create an app instance and select the created resource object and IT resoource. Also i need to create a form associated with the app instance in which i will add the fields as present in the object form in my 10g app. ( Here i am not understanding how data will flow from object form to process form since there is no data flow mapping here)
    5. Other steps like creating the SOA composite with human tasks and deploying it and after that creating approval policies is pretty much clear.
    Please clarify whether the steps are correct and also the queries which i have posted in between. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Gyanprakash. Wll disconnected resource trigger our custom approval process if we select the resource name properly in scope in operational level approval policy. Have you tried a disconnected resource with your custom approval process. Because i read the following lines in admin guide
    Oracle Identity Manager supports provisioning of disconnected resources by using the SOA worklist for manual provisioning of disconnected resources. After the role-based provisioning decision or SOA request approval is complete and the corresponding application instance is determined to be a disconnected application instance, a new SOA workflow is started. This new SOA workflow is assigned to the manual provisioning administrator.
    So i thought disconnected app instance will have its own approval process configured during the creation and it will route accordingly. So just wanted to clarify how to make disconnected app instance to trigger our approval. will approval policay take care of it as i am going to select the name of the disconnected app in the scope field.

  • OIM 10g: Requests Track Doesn't show any requests status

    Hello,
    OIM 10g BP15:
    I've created a group "oim-admin-group" ("admuser" is the member of this group).
    I've assigned quite a few "Menu Items" access required for "oim-admin-group" group including:
    * Track Requests menu item
    Also, assigned "permissions" on all objects to this group.
    However, when "admuser" logs in and perform a search on Requests > Track > Search:
    he don't see any results but the message:
    "Your search did not return any results. Try again. "
    I added "oim-admin-group" with "read" permissions to
    * Organization > Xellerate User > Administrative Group >
    * Organization > ABC (User's org) > Administrative Group >
    Also, in (with "read" permissions)
    * Resource > "Request" > Resource Administrators
    * Resource > "Xellerate users" > Resource Administrators
    * Resource > "Xellerate Organizations" > Resource Administrators
    However, "admuser" still not able to track requests and sees same response.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks,

    Looks like the "Administrative queues" implementation could have been planned around design time. Then the requests could be assigned and managed by different roles(groups) member with different access levels in OIM.
    However, in my current setup - all workflows follows this rule 1) Route the request for manager approval 2) After successful manager approval, route it for application group approval (2nd step of approval). Implementation of "Administrative queues" in this setup looks difficult to me.
    Any comment?
    Thanks,

    Anyone encountered this before in the clustered setup ?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    But if you see the trace, it is coming from the OOTB library. Isn't it ? It doesn't indicate if there is any issue in any custom beans.
    java.io.NotSerializableException: com.thortech.xl.webclient.workflowutil.ImageGenerator$FieldMoreover, i see this error in the log with case 2: ("configure" data flow). However, it is working and the the UI is showing me the data flow with this error in the log.
    My major concern is case 1: ("edit" workflow) which is not showing me anything on the UI ?
    Ideally, it should trigger Nexaweb client to populate the workflows in the UI.
    *1 interesting observation:*
    If i go to "Design console" -> process definition -> "Render workflow",
    then it opens the workflow in the default explorer and the url which is opened in the browser is same as the previous case. It is working here as expected. Does this means the problem is with Nexaweb client load in the UI in case 1. How to fix this ?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,

  • OIM 10g - custom connector - modify user

    Hi
    I am writing a custom connector for OIM 10g and looking out for modify request format. My application has roles which are managed by OIM. When I call 'modify user' to update user's role in the application, I want to have the information of old role and new role in the connector. Please let me know how can I get the information of old role for the provisioned resource. I want to log the information that at the time of 'modify user' which role was newly added and which role was deleted.
    Does anybody has information about how this can be implemented.
    Thanks

    Well , When you write a process task for adding/ removing the child table , you specify in the task configuration the child table name and trigger type (insert OR delete)..
    So when you add or remove operation from child process form in OIM, OIM know which task it has to trigger and you can put the logic to add /remove the role in the adapter attached to the task .
    Thanks
    Suren

    1.     Users of group A have the permission to provision a resource to “Dummy1”.
    2.     Users of group B have the permission to deprovision resource from “Dummy1”.
    I have one admin user which belongs to both group that A and B, now suppose this admin user try to deprovision multiple resources by selection the corresponding check box . Say resource “Dummy1” and “Dummy2”, then in OIM we are getting error message “You do not have permission to perform this activity”, and none of process task is triggered in OIM and status is still showing as Provisioned. But at the resource “Dummy1” user is getting deleted.
    Request you please help me on this.
    Thanks

    Thanks Kavin,
    It is working fine with positive testing and failing during the negative testing.
    Can I put an entity adapter for validating this ? if yes what would the steps.

  • OIM 10G : UIX Not found error

    Hello,
    I've moved OIM 10G 9102 to application server Weblogic in cluster (version 10.3.5.0 - 11g).
    All the workflows and provisioning pieces are working as expected.
    However, when a manager user is trying to set his proxy by selecting calender dates. He is not able to select any dates (calender is not opening on button click) and the bottom of the IE page says - Error on Page.
    When i click on "Error on page" it says - Object expected : MyProxy.do... i copied the error details and here it is:

    This link confused me to the version of Weblogic 11g (10.3.5.0) for OIM 9102 BP15.
    UIX on Weblogic (AS 11G)
    Any help would be deeply appreciated.
    Thanks,

    I've moved OIM 10G 9102 to application server Weblogic in cluster (version 10.3.5.0 - 11g).I don' know how did you move it.
    But it is expecting cabo files. Generally you'll find cabo directory in the ear file parallel to WEB-INF folder.
    It seems that that folder or its content are missing from your ear file. Can you redeploy your ear file or you can also try with copy paste the folder/content from older directory to */opt/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oim_domain/servers/OIM_SERVER1/stage/Xellerate/WLXellerateFull.ear/xlWebApp.war/* and restart

  • OIM 10g provision takes long and gives DOBJ UPDATE FAILED

    Hi.
    We Recently added a resource but it´s provisioning process takes about 1 minute to complete.
    When a user makes a request for lets say 10 users, when the request is approved, the web page tries to wait until all the 10 user provisioning process is finished but that means 10 minutes waiting and OIM gives DOBJ.UPDATE_FAILED. I assume this is a timeout.
    How can I configure OIM (10G) to do all the provisioning process in background so there will not be needed to wait a lot of time watching a stall page when the (last approval step) approve button is pressed ?
    Thanks.

    It´s a Webservice which makes a LOT of transactions and takes a lot doing them, we cannot change its behavior because it was built by someone else.
    Offline Provisioning Explains a lot!
    Even fixes a Rollback problem we were having caused by conectivity problems with some target Systems.
    Thank YOU!

  • OIM 10g data migration

    Hi,
    We have an existing OIM server with the below configuration
    OIM- 9.1.0.2 + BP11
    Weblogic server: 10.3.2.0
    OIM DB: 10g
    Target resources: AD, ACF2, Lotus Notes, Remedy, Novell- e directory
    Trusted resource: ODS
    We have to replicate this enviroment(with data) to a entirely new server.(different host name and db)
    We have already installed the OIM on new server with the same configuration as above.
    Can anyone help us with the proper sequence of migration
    We have below entities in existing OIM
    Adapters, UDFs, Process Tasks, Resource Objects, Scheduled task, etc.
    Thanks,
    Garima

    run in below sequence at day 1
    1. disable access policy if any just remove the access policy from role.
    2. run trusted recon so that user will be created in OIM
    3. run manager mapping scheduler if you have else ignore it.
    3. run target recon for all the target systems so the existing account will be reconciled and linked with OIM->users.
    4. enable access policy if exist. I mean attach access policy to that role.
    better approach, don't take import of Lookup.ADGroupReconciliation.Lookup and Lookup.OrganizationReconciliation.Lookup. create manually. Else you can drop all the content on dev machine of lookup and then export as well
    Hope you understand

  • Oracle forms 10g Parameter passing from forms to reports

    Hello Room,
    Please let me know what is wrong with this code. It is not passing parameter at all to the reports 10g parameter form from forms 10g, no matter what. I tried to delete the parameter from reports parameter form, I also tried to enable/disable restricted values from reports, I tried to hide the parameter from reports, but it is just not doing it.

    Hello Inol,
    Greetings !
    There seems to be a syntax error when I run your code:-
    REP-52251: Cannot get output of job ID 272 you requested on Fri Apr 08 02:37:25 GMT 2011.<P>REP-51026: No output for job 272
    when I run then command:-
    http://local-pc:8889/reports/rwservlet/showjobs
    Terminated with error: <br>REP-159: Syntax error on command line.
    Is there a error on your statement ?
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1) ||'?server=repsrv );
    it should be
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1) ||'?server=repsrv ' );
    then only it is getting compiled properly. A single quote in the end !
    And finally I changed this line
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,'paramform=no p_1='||:SP_USERCODE 'p_my_second_parameter='||:block.my_second_parameter);
    to this line
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,'paramform=no p_1='||:SP_USERCODE|| *'p*mysecond_parameter='||:block.my_second_parameter);
    as it is giving error where highlighted in bold Is it necessary to change and add a concatenation there ?_
    But... But... even though I compile it properly the code is getting executed and it is giving the above error. Please note the same.
    Also please tell me what should be the status of the following things in report builder 10g.
    1. Shall I remove the parameters vcompany and vlocname from the parameter form and keep it just in parameters of report , There is a third parameter which I want the user to input while running the report other than these 2 parameters ?
    2. Shall I restrict the parameter to predetermined values ?
    3. Shall I hide the first column of the parameter in report builder.
    I have also tried to simulate the execution parameters from batch to runtime and comm mode to synchronous and asynchronous and vice versa. I have also given command rwserver server = repsrv on my pc and also server pc. please let me know about this also whether I need to give this command every time ? I mean for every booting ?
    As this problem is faced by many people. I think it should work across the fly as given by you or rather corrected by you. I would also like to know is there any patch available for the same released by oracle, as I have read somewhere in the forum here which I cannot locate the thread now. I do not mind paying for support if I find the need ?
    Please help me further. Thank you.

  • "insufficient existing resources to complete requested service" IO problem?

    Hi, my application reads from a repository of 1 million documents and then do some processing (very simple and requires little memory or computation) then outputs to another repository, where output files are placed in a flat structure, i.e., 1 million files in a single folder, not organised into any subfolders. I know this is a bad design and Im about to change it, but not sure if this is the cause of my problem (see following).
    My program haulted and threw exception *"insufficent existing resources to complete requested service"* every time it reached about 800k documents. And after I got this exception, my WinXP OS starts to misbehave, like sometimes I cannot open applications properly, and sometimes memory reference address issues, and once I tried to run JAVA IDE (intellij 7.0) again and I got this message:
    "ERROR: transport error 202: recv failed during handshake: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?)"
    Also I tried to list all open files in a console, but the command hangs and without responding, looks like there are too many things to list or too little resources available to complete the operation.
    All these problems go away if I restart system.
    I have confirmed the following possible causes and they do not apply:
    - unclosed IO's , I checked the code and all IO operations properly instantiated and closed;
    - memory leak, java profiler shows memory consumption well below allocated max, and very stable (test on 100k documents, not whole of 1million though)
    I do not have any clue now as how this problem happend and how I can solve it. I wonder if placing all 800k documetns in a single folder causes problem? I know that if I try to call File.listFiles() on a folder with too many files that will cause memory problem. But I didnt have this kind of method call at all, but simply writing a particular file to that folder. Does this cause problem too? I am about to change this and to organise the output folder to subfolders, but is this the right dirrection to take?
    I am sorry that my description may be insufficient to truely debug the problem, but that is all I can get and it does look strange to myself too. Please could you throw in your ideas - any thoughts about the exception message, even any guess on what would be causes to this etc...
    Any thoughts are very much appreciated!
    Thanks so much inadvance!

    Hi Paul, thanks. I have did as you suggested, implemented a standalone program to test the issue. What I did is, I wrote a simple program which extends Thread, and creates 1 million files and write empty content and store to disk. Then I tested with 4 instances of such class, i.e., 4 threads writing 4 milllion files in total to disk - but to different locations, so there's no writing-to-same-file issues. And the system crashes at certain point.
    I then did another test to make the problem clearer. instead of running the 4 threads in parallel, I only create a new thread after previous one has completed. and this time still it crashes for the same reason, and at about 2.5million files have been created.
    The crash looks severe, as it simply crashes the system and I cannot do anything but to force shut down my pc. Then a restart asks to check disk integrity, and reported alot messages like :
    "deleting orphaned file xyx.xml ......" from drive X where X is the drive that the files are written to.
    Here I attach my testing code:
    public class TestClass extends Thread{
    public void process (String inputPath, String outputRootPath){
    FileStoreProxy p=new FileStoreProxy(outputRootPath);   // a FileStoreProxy keeps record of a root directory where files are created and
    // written to. It also creates subfolder (File.mkdirs()) such that every 10000 files
    //are stored in a subfolder under the root directory. The class doesnt do any IO
    List<File> folders = FileLoader.getFolderRecursive(new File(inputPath)); // this method loads all folders from inputPath. InputPath is a disk
    // directory that contains more than 1million xml files
    for (File folder : folders) {
      File[] files = folder.listFiles();
        for (File f : files) {
          if (f.isFile()) {
             FileOutputStream stream = null;
             try {
                  File newFile = new File(p.nextBestLocation()+"/"+f.getName());  //basically this line creates a new file whose path is composed by
    //the directory returned by FileStoreProxy, plus the filename as the input filename.
                  stream = new FileOutputStream(newFile, false);          // create an outputstream
                  stream.write("test".getBytes());                                  //write to the file
             catch (IOException ioe) {
                e.printStackTrace()
             finally {
                if (stream != null) {
                   try {
                      stream.close();
                      stream = null;
                   } catch (IOException ioe) {
                     e.printStackTrace();
    }And here is the class which creates four threads
    TestClass tc1 = new TesetClass;
    tc1.process("input_file_repository","f:/temp/outputpath1");
    while (!tc1.isFinished()){        // isFinished() is a method in TestClass, which tells whehter the thread has finished running.
    TestClass tc2 = new TesetClass;
    tc2.process("input_file_repository","f:/temp/outputpath2");
    while (!tc2.isFinished()){        // isFinished() is a method in TestClass, which tells whehter the thread has finished running.
    TestClass tc3 = new TesetClass;
    tc3.process("input_file_repository","f:/temp/outputpath3");
    while (!tc3.isFinished()){        // isFinished() is a method in TestClass, which tells whehter the thread has finished running.
    TestClass tc4 = new TesetClass;
    tc4.process("input_file_repository","f:/temp/outputpath4");
    while (!tc4.isFinished()){        // isFinished() is a method in TestClass, which tells whehter the thread has finished running.
    }Hope this helps... I had a feeling that the cause of the problem is that File IO is doing too fast such that some resources (file handle for example?) are not released in time and are floating somewhere, as a result, after some point it crashes. And later on the OS disk check reports that there are orphan files which are created by the program.
    Any ideas much appreciated! thanks!
