OIM 11.1.1.5.4, Lotus Notes 8.5.1 update AlternativeName/Language error

Hello experts!
We have faced issue with OIM and Lotus Notes integration.
Here is configuration:
OIM host:
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
Weblogic: 10.3.5.0
SOA: 11.1.1.5.0
OIM: 11.1.1.5.4
Lotus Notes host:
OS: SUSE Linux 2.6.16.60-0.21-default
Lotus Notes: 8.5.1
For integration, we used OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 9.0.4.12.0 because:
1. In OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 9.0.4.14.0 documentation described bug 11693279, that provisioning fails if you update the Alternate Full Name, Alternate Full Name Language.
2. In OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 11.1.1.5.0 documentation there is nothing about provisioning or updating user's the Alternate Full Name, Alternate Full Name Language fields.
So, we have configured Lotus connector according to documentation, but when we trying to update the Alternate Full Name, Alternate Full Name Language fields of provisioned user's account, update Alternate Full Name or Alternate Full Name Language task failed with the following error:

We can't figure out why we get "Notes error: An improperly formed name was encountered" error, so experts, please adwise!
P.S. As said before, in OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 9.0.4.14.0 documentation described bug 11693279, which is matching exactly to our problem, could it be that documentation for previous connector version (9.04.12.0) lacks information about this bug?

Hello, my email is connected to Lotus Notes. When I updated my iPad to iOS 6, it REQUIRED that I have a password for the iPad or else my email wouldn't work or synchronize with Lotus Notes (on my work laptop). This is really frustrating, because I cannot disable the password under General<Passcode. Thanks!

This would almost certainly be a setting that is being enforced by your company. You'll need to talk to them about this.
    Regards.

  • When using Lotus Notes with the latest version of firefox notes will not allow me to attach files?

Uner firefox version I was able to attach muliple doc within my Lotus notes, after upgrading I now get an error message. Program error. What else can I do to fix the problem other than going back to the old version?

I only have an HSA account with USbank, and my screen looks fine.
If the website is okay, you can try goto options->advanced->network, and clear the web cache and try again.

  • N82 lotus notes traveller

    Hi,
I am using N82, while i downlaod the lotus notes traveller, after downloading i recieve an error as " file corrupted"  kindly suggest what to do.

It is IBM that's responsible for the Lotus Notes Traveler, not Nokia, so you'd need to convince IBM that it is worth their while to keep updating/supporting/developing it for Symbian.

  • OIM connector for Lotus Notes

    Hi,
I had a Problem, I need to configure OIM connection with Lotus Notes,
I am able to find Jar files and XML files, but only thing is I need to move mail boxes from one server to another server in Lotus notes,
If any one worked in configuring OIM with Lotus Notes and performed moving mail boxes from one server to another server in Lotus Notes,
can anyone provide the steps invloved in it.
It will be helpfull for me

    User 619664,
I guess that I was not clear in my previous post. I don't know how to implement a process to move mail boxes between servers using the OOTB Lotus Notes Connector. The configuration that I described above is to create Lotus users in a Lotus Domino Server (Server A) and create their mail boxes in another predefined Lotus Server (Server B), when you do a user provisioning through OIM.
    Chii,
the certifier ID file should be located on the target system computer and you must specify its path in CertPath parameter in Lotus Notes IT Resource in Design Console. This certifier ID file is generated as "cert.id" when you deploy the first Domino Server of your environment.
I'm not so sure, but I guess that in Lotus Notes version 6 and above you can grant to a user (for example OIMaccount user) the ability to re-certify IDs, then you could use the OIMaccount.id as your certifier ID, but I didn’t test this configuration at all.
Anyway, this parameter is required to create users in Domino Directory because it keeps the public key used to generate private keys of user accounts and I guess that is used in password cryptography also.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
    Regards.

  • Does OIM Connector for Lotus Notes support Domino certification authority?

Lotus Notes allows an Organization to register servers and users without stamping each server ID and user ID if you have migrated the certifier to a Domino server-based certification authority (CA).
A Customer has done such a migration to a server-based certification authority (CA), and therefore they have set up Notes and Internet certifiers to use the CA process.
So, now this Customer does not require access to the certifier ID and ID password.
Having enabled certifiers for the CA process, they can now assign the registration authority role to administrators, who can then register users and manage certificate requests without having to provide the certifier ID and password.
My question is: is this compatible with the requirements of Oracle Identity Manager Connector for IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Release 9.0.4, that, among other parameters, requires to specify CertPath (Complete file specification of the certifier ID to be used when creating certifier ID files) and CertPwd (Password of the certifier ID file)?

I quite new with OIM, but not at all... For sure, I need to configure a connector for Lotus Notes / Domino.
The main points in my question are (USING A connector for Lotus Notes / Domino):
    - How can I create 1 user account (and related data), on different servers (IT Resources), with different "mail templates", when the data should be the same, and the user mail database, should only be a replica on the the 2nd server
    - Maybe, I need to configure 2 distincts IT Resources, and run both (through Provisioning Policies), when I need to provision a user, as described in my scenario (above), right?
    - In the 2nd server, I dont want the user to be created with a new mail database (neither new user data, as shortName, IDfile... ).
I want that same data, and a replicated mail DB is generated on the 2nd server (webmail server)
Is it possible, how can I configure this within OIM connector for Lotus Notes / Domino?

  • Updates from OIM to Lotus Notes via Lotus User policy

    Hi Guys,
    OIM - Version 11.1.1.5 (Bp03)
    Lotus Notes connector -v 11.1.1.5
    Connector Server - v11.1.1.5
Currently we execute a trusted recon from AD to OIM to create and update users. We have the Lotus Notes connector deployed and 'Lotus User' provisioning policy implemented.
I can create and delete users in Domino via this policy in OIM but I'm having an issue with user updates such as renames from AD, being new to OIM I may be missing a few steps but I believe all the config to manage updates is correct. When we reconcile changes from AD - the OIM user's entry gets updated successfully but their lotus provisioning form/policy doesn't - is this what should happen or should I have to run a target recon? Reading the documentation it seems that the target recon job is not the proper process to update user entries in Domino and should be completed via "provisioning"
I've confirmed that within the Process definition adpLNUPDATEDUSERINFO is configured for the required fields but is there a trick to this config to trigger updates within the provisioning policy and update the user's lotus provisioning form? If I manually enter the new details in the user's lotus provisioning form - the user's domino entry is updated successfuly.
    Thanks guys,

To update user attributes you need to add two process tasks for each attribute in process definition. First tasks is change tasks. It should named like "Change <Attribute name>". This task will use a transfer value adapter. Transfer value adapter will read attribute from user profile whenever that attribute changed and copy it into your process form. Add entry for respective attributes and their change tasks in Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGER lookup.
Second task will be update task. It should be named like "<Attribute Name> updated". This task will use adpLNUPDATEDUSERINFO adapter. Attribute name and its value will be passed as parameter to this adapter which in turn will modify it in your target system.

  • Lotus Notes password change not working

    Hi,
I'm integrating Lotus Notus and currently we are able to create users in the Domino server, so we have many doubts:
Lotus Notes Id Files are created in the Domino server, but this Id Files needs to be copied in the users own laptops or desktop pc's. What is the best way we can give the user the Id File?
For password changes: I have test password change from OIM self-service, I mean, I create a user, then I provision the user account to Lotus and finally I login with the user account to OIM user self-service interface and try to change password, connector log says everything is ok and the user Id file is correctly modified but, in Domino's server, Lotus internet/http password is not modified, so it is correct? I expect the http/internet password to be changed too. For test purposes I have to copy the new Id file from the Domino server and paste it in the client pc where Lotus Notes client is installed, I put the new password and I'm able to login, but http/internet password is not changed.
So I don't know if this is a limitation from the connector or if I miss something in order to be able to perform password changes, I have read many times connector documentation but this is not clear for me. I also have read oracle waveset Domino connector documentations but seems to work in a different way OIM do.
    Please help me
    Regards.

    Hi SaikatDas,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Since this forum is to discuss: Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation
Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.
Based on your issue, it is related to the IIS, so I’m afraid that it is not the correct forum for this issue. therefore, I suggest you can post this issue directly to the IIS forum:http://forums.iis.net/
, maybe you will get better support.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • IDK for Lotus Notes/Domino

A customer has asked us if we can build an IDK for Lotus Notes/Domino in Lotus Script.
We've validated that it's technically possible and now it's time to figure out how to approach the problem from the business side, i.e. do we do it as a consulting project, a closed-source/for-profit product or as an open source product.
I'm leaning toward open source, but first I want to see if anyone out there would benefit from a Lotus Notes/Domino IDK (aside from this one customer of ours).
    Thoughts?

  • Encryption bit of Lotus Notes ID files

    Hello All
Prior to implementing OIM, the user.id files were being created with an encryption rate of 630 bit (compatible with all releases).
However after OIM the ID files are now being created with an encryption rate of 1024 (compatible with only certain version of Notes).
Is this a setting within the Lotus Notes connector? If so, where can I find that?
If not, any ideas as to where this setting is located?

Have you checked the connector documentation?
The logical place to keep this setting would be the IT resource but it is likely this is hard coded in the connector code or potentiall just set by default on the Lotus side. Jad will help you with finding out if it is in the connector.
    Hope this helps

  • Lotus Notes Connector: Resource is provisioned but the Create User task...

    Hi,
I am getting some problems with the Lotus Notes Connector. The resource is provisioned but the Create User task is rejected. In the Lotus Notes server log, there is no problem and the account was created successfully.
Below is the response OIM has set to the task:

    Sunny,
I figured out the problem... Wrong configurations. See what I did:
    a) Reviewed the explanation below about the paramater certifierOU of Lotus Notes ITRes, so I set it to empty.
certifierOU Specifies the OU of the certifier to be used when creating user accounts If you use a certifier on the target system, then you must specify the certifier OU value. If
you do not have a certifier on the target system, then leave this parameter field empty.
If there are multiple certifiers on the target system, then you must create one IT resource (of the Lotus Notes IT resource type) for each certifier. Refer to Oracle Identity Manager
Design Console Guide for information about creating IT resources. If you specify a value for the certifierOU parameter, then the user OU value that you specify on the process form is ignored during the creation of a DN for a new user account.
If you do not specify a value for the certifierOU parameter, then the user OU value that you specify on the process form is used in the DN. This feature ensures that only one OU value
    is included in the DN.
If you specify a value for the certifierOU IT resource parameter, then user records for which the certifier OU value in the DN does not match the certifierOU parameter value are not
reconciled. This is because the user DN is used to match records in the target system and Oracle Identity Manager, and a difference in the certifier OU value would lead to a
mismatch in DN values. The following example illustrates this type of scenario:
Suppose a user account on Lotus Notes has the following DN:
    CN=John Doe/OU=testcertou/O=test/C=US
If testcertou has not been assigned as the value of the certifierOU parameter for any of the IT resources created on this Oracle Identity Manager installation, then the records of this
user cannot be reconciled into Oracle Identity Manager.
    Sample value: NY
    b) The MailServer paramater was win2k3base/oimdev and I've changed it to CN=win2k3base/O=oimdev.
    c) As the certifierOU is clear now, so I have to inform the Orgnation Unit field in the process form.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I'm integrating Lotus Notes 8.0.5, my issue is about changin passwords, actually I can change password from OIM 11g user self-service and the Lotus Connector update the Id File in the server, but the Lotus Internet password is not updated. Could you please share your experiences with Lotus?. I've already faced many issues with this connector but the most were solved in the Domino's side.
    regards
