OIM 11gR2: GTC logical cancellation

Hi all,
in our OIM environment (OIM 11gR2) we have installed and configured a GTC that provisions and reconciliates to and from an Oracle Database Application Table.
The GTC works fine and when we try to revoke an account, it deletes the account from target system.
What we would like to implement is the "logical cancellation" functionality. Upon account revocation, the GTC should sets the value "1" to one of the target system fields (named "IS_DELETED") instead deletes it from target system.
Is it possible to achieve this?

Is it possible to achieve this?You can modify the process definition at any point of time. Remove the existing adapter and attach your own adapter which will do the logical cancellation.
If you are looking for some configuration in GTC itself then I don't think it is possible.

Date format mismatch between OIM 11gR2 GTC and backend custom database table (Oracle 11g R2)

Hi,
We have an OIM 11g R2 version running that has a GTC installed and configured. The GTC is used to provision to a 11g R2 database table via the DBAT 9.1.0.5.0 connector. Now the requirement is that the timestamp be recorded in the backend DB when a new record is provisioned to it using the GTC.
During the setup of the GTC, the target system date format is asked for should be one from among the values allowed by the following predefined formats:
Customizing Formats (The Java&trade; Tutorials &gt; Internationalization &gt; Formatting)
Now our problem is that the target DB to which the provisioning is supposed to happen, isn't under our control and hence we cannot change its schema, and the date format in that table is of the type "01-JAN-10 12.00.00.000000000 AM", which translates to "dd-MMM-yy hh.mm.ss.fffffffff (AM/PM)".
On the other hand, as you can see from the above link, none of the values that OIM allows to be passed through the GTC allow for that format to be used.
Does anyone know of any way in which we can intercept the GTC provisioning request and convert the date on the fly, after OIM has passed on the control, but before the values are written into the DB table, or does anyone know of any workarounds to this issue?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could provide a solution to this.

See 26.6 for the plugin.zip directory structure, and as I said, I used the same method on a previous task in the same OIM instance.

OIM 11gR2 : GTC working but no entry in USR

Hi,
I am running a GTC for recon with the ODS. I am getting no errors in the error log, the scheduler runs the GTC job absolutely fine but i am not getting the recon entry in the USR table. Kindly help.

Yes, I have tried that but that didn't work as in AD you just have a name of an element in CN. Beside that OU doesn't have a CN.

OIM 11gR2 : recon matching multi-value attribute

The basic recon matching rule works very well, but business want to matching against users multi-value attribute, for example, one of the multiple AD accounts of user.
Can anyone tell me how this can be done in OIM 11gR2 BP7.

Rajiv, you are right. I choose the "Reconciliation Create/Update/Delete Received" tasks as I could not make Kevin's suggestion work. Here is what I did and failed to trigger the custom adapter.
(1) I created a task called "Child Table UD_MYAuth row updated" and attach my custom-adapter to it.
(2) I found "Reconciliation Update Received" task is called whenever there is a change in multi value attributes and is called by "Target Recon", which update the multivalue in child table UD_MYAuth.
In this task I mentioned the child table (UD_MYAuth) and trigger type as 'update'. The idea was to trigger the exclusive child-table related task created in step-1 from this "recon update Rcvd" task.
(3) To test this setup, I changes the multi-valued data of a user in LDAP and ran the "Target Recon". I found that adapter code was not executed, that means "Child Table UDMYAuth row updated" task was not called.
Since I have mentioned the child table and trigger type in "Recon Update Rcvd" task, should not it trigger "child table xxx row updated" task ? I could not make it work.

OIM Restarting automatically during GTC Recon

Hi,
While doing a GTC recon for 100 users, the OIM Server (9102 BP12) is restarting on its own in the middle of recon work - after "event linking" around 40 users.
Is there anything incorrect with the setting? Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Yes, just make it false and see whether you are recieving any mails.
Also, OOTB notifications can be made disabled after exporting->modifying->importing few files from MDS. You can check it with oracle support.

Approvals during trusted recon in OIM 11gr2

Folks,
I have a requirement to send create user approvals to a user during trusted reconciliation from a file . Is it feasible to achieve .?
i.e we dont want to directly create users in OIM on trusted recon rather send them for approval and after successfull approval the user should be created in OIM.

I would also suggest using one of the APIs to perform a search user based on your user id value and if it returns a user, then just use the recon api. This way you only have to use the Create User api on new users. The issue you might encounter with this though is if the user is in a pending approval state, then if you get more events for them, they still not be found and you will end up with 2 requests. So before you perform the create, you might have to search the existing requests, or store the user id in a lookup, but store it somewhere so you dont create multiples. Depending on how long your approval is going to take, you could create a recon event for the user if they are still pending approval so once they are created, the retry of the recon events will process it again and update the user. You just need to account for all these things.

OIM 11GR2 UNIX Connector Reconcile users from UNIX inquiry

Good Day!
I would like to ask whether there is a way in OIM that when I reconcile all new users from my UNIX server, OIM will also create the resource which this user is provisioned upon?
Here is my scenario:
1.) Freshly installed OIM 11GR2.
2.) Installed UNIX connector on OIM 11GR2.
3.) Configured UNIX TRUSTED Resource
4.) Reconciled all the UNIX users into OIM. (New users are created since my OIM doesn't have any user)
5.) The problem is when the new users are now created in OIM, they don't have entitlements or accounts linked to the UNIX server which they have been pulled upon.
I would like to ask whether I need to configure something to have the entitlements/accounts linking possible?
If not, what are the ways I can achieve this?
The only way I can think of is have the UNIX users be created in a flat file first then load via GTC then have reconciliation to have OIM to link these users to UNIX which I believe should be able to do the scenario I am asking upon.

By the way, checking target resource recon by default will not create new users when OIM is not able to establish a link.
In my case, OIM doesn't have any users since this is a fresh install hence even running target resource at start will won't create the new users in OIM right?
based from this:
"You configure application (AD, OID, OVD, HR) etc in Target Resource Mode if that OIM is source of truth for user provisioning (All users are created in OIM and OIM then provision accounts in Application. Any changes in Application are reconciled back to OIM)."

OIM 11gR2 user not provisioning to Active Directory (11.1.1.5 connector)

Hello all,
I'm trying to set up an OIM 11gR2 instance to work with Active Directory with the Active Directory 11.1.1.5.0 connector. I've full installed both OIM and AD on separate servers, and I've installed the AD 11.1.1.5 connector on OIM. I have configured Active Directory properly (connector on OIM and the connector server on the AD server-side), and have set up the two IT Resources on OIM. I can run, for example, the Active Directory Organization Lookup Recon job and have it return results in the Lookup window.
My problem is that I cannot get it to provision to a user. I've created an Application Instance and Form for Active Directory, attached the Form, associated them with the appropriate resources (AD User), and added them to the Catalog, and then gone through the process of adding an account to the user, selecting the Application Instance, adding it to the cart, checking out, filling out the fields (Password, User ID, UPN, First Name, Last Name, Common Name, and Organization Name), and then submitting the request. This is all done as the xelsysadm admin user, but it still results with the account stuck on "Provisioning" because the "Create User" task failed due to a Connector Error (the reason stated is just a repeat of "Create Object" failed).
Anyone know what I'm missing here?

The organization field attribute is filled in correctly, in that the OU I selected exists in AD.

I'm not sure why the username/password error could be occurring, as those fields in the AD IT Resource are correct (I've run AD recon jobs that have connected properly). Is there something I'm missing?

Pre populate adapter in OIM 11gr2 not triggered in database

Steps
· Installed GTC connector for Database Web App 9.*
· Created new user and Table in Database
· Created IT resource for Database
· Created Sandbox, App Instance and Form, published sandbox
· Started catalog synchronization job scheduler
· Created user and and request account to app instance.

Now we have done with all the steps and now we have created one User submit the user
we have click on request acounts ---> search the catalog and select the application instance (select the app instance "database provisioning") ---> add to cart ---> and check out ---> fill the form leaving email field --> ready to submit ---> submit
now we have check this user in database but still pre populated fields are not reflected. since this not working so we have found the other three links

Validation Event Handler Not working with GTC Recon???

We have implemented a Validation Event Handler on user entity.
In the code we have implemented both the execute methods i.e. Orchestration andf Bulk Orchestration. We have created a UDF for Manager field and our validation handler checks whether the user in Manager UDF field is an Active user in OIM or not. In case the user is not an Active user, code will throw a Validation Failed Exception.
At the time of changing the Manager UDF value from the Console directly Validation Event Handler is getting triggered but with GTC Recon Validation Handler is not Working.
Previously i faced the same issue with the post process event handler but the problem get resoved when i implemented execute method with Bulk Orchestration. As per my understanding Bulk Orchestration exceute method gets called with GTC Recon and execute method with Orchestration gets called when changing the attribute value directly from the console.
In case of Validation Event Handler i have implemented both but still validation Event handler is not working with GTC.

Replicating the app functionality from OIM 10g to OIM 11gR2

Hi,
I have a resource object with an object form and a process form and approval, provisioning configured in OIM 10g design console. Provisioning is manual provisioning assigned to a particular group based on a task assignment adapter. For replicating the same in OIM 11gR2 i followed the following steps.
1. Created a Resource object in Design console.
2. Created a dummy IT Resource ( Since while creating app instance it is having IT Resource as Mandatory field. * Is there any way to skip this as i do not have any IT resource in my original app as it is going for manual provisioning?)*
3. Created a process form in Design Console with the same fields as present in my 10g app process form.
4. Now i need to Create an app instance and select the created resource object and IT resoource. Also i need to create a form associated with the app instance in which i will add the fields as present in the object form in my 10g app. ( Here i am not understanding how data will flow from object form to process form since there is no data flow mapping here)
5. Other steps like creating the SOA composite with human tasks and deploying it and after that creating approval policies is pretty much clear.
Please clarify whether the steps are correct and also the queries which i have posted in between. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Gyanprakash. Wll disconnected resource trigger our custom approval process if we select the resource name properly in scope in operational level approval policy. Have you tried a disconnected resource with your custom approval process. Because i read the following lines in admin guide
Oracle Identity Manager supports provisioning of disconnected resources by using the SOA worklist for manual provisioning of disconnected resources. After the role-based provisioning decision or SOA request approval is complete and the corresponding application instance is determined to be a disconnected application instance, a new SOA workflow is started. This new SOA workflow is assigned to the manual provisioning administrator.
So i thought disconnected app instance will have its own approval process configured during the creation and it will route accordingly. So just wanted to clarify how to make disconnected app instance to trigger our approval. will approval policay take care of it as i am going to select the name of the disconnected app in the scope field.

OIM 11gR2 Active Directory integration issue

I am trying to install AD connector on OIM 11gR2 and have successfully performed all the necessary and relevant steps according to the deployment guide.
When i am trying to test the connector though, by running the "Active Directory Organization Lookup Recon" scheduled job i am getting the following error:
Exception Message oracle.iam.connectors.icfcommon.exceptions.Integration
Exception: The value for a key [Host] is not defined in the provided map.

Hi,
i hope you are using the AD New connector(i.e. ICF based ) and your connector server key is not set properly. Most of the cases this is arises because of connector parameters. So verify the connector parameters and also have you put the AD connector jars on connector server side.

OIM11gr2 PS1 Postprocess eventhandler for GTC recon

Hi All,
I Created PostProcess eventhandler which is working fine for the user created via identity console. but it is failing for user created via GTC(Trusted resource) i don't see any error in the logs but in Eventmanagement it just say "Failed in PostProcessing". and even it is not fetching the user password in GTC recon .
i tried order FIRST,LAST,1000,1002 etc...but same issue.
