Ok Guys Pleease Help With This H/d And Udma
HI ALL
for some reason my mobo or win xp decided to make my cd drives and h/d into pio mode instead of ultra dma
after finding a fix for this which involves removing a couple of registry entries ,they both went to normal or so i thought.
until i was told my hard drive should be running ultra dma 5 mode and not really mode 2
i have got the latest drivers from via
i have also unistalled the primary ide driver and rebooted to see if that helps but nope still says ultra dma 2
is there anything on the mobo that i could change
my hard drive is a ibm deskstar 40 gig 7200
i am using ata 100/133 cables
when booting up though the boot up screen shows my hard drive and ultra dma 5
SO WHY IS THIS not going through to windows

I do drafting as well. That's how we coame in contact with each other. This guy had an idea for the clean up, and I just want to help him out. The discloser is just so nobody steels his idea when they see it. It would basically be the discloser and the button under it would say I agree to the discloser. When clicked they would be directed to the pdf. None of this is a problem, I have it covered.
I would like to display the viewers IP address, and location just so they feel we know where they are and who they are. Mainly to keep them honest. I want their info to display on the page next to the discloser agreement. That's all.
This guy has a great idea and I want to help him get it out there without feeling vulnerable. I know it doesn't stop anything from being stolen. I just feel it would be a little deterrent. Chances are that anybody that knows the internet in depth would not do anything with the idea, and anybody that could do something with the idea, would not know the internet as well. So, they would feel obligated to contact him about the idea rather than steel it.
He’s not really concerned with making money off of it, but he doesn’t want anybody else to take the credit, or money.

I need help with this Time Capsule and External HD problem!
my time capsule is working perfectly and i decided to hook up a seagate 500 external hd thru the usb on the back of the time capsule!
well i can see both drives on my macbook and i can transfer files from my mac to both hd with a breeze
one major problem i cannot extract files from my external hd only put files in! i tried checking the setting and everything but with no avail! anyone have this problem and how did they fix it? thank you!
Message was edited by: aphextwin007Try connecting another USB storage device to the TC - HDD or memory stick. Format the device while it's connected to the TC, then try writing and reading to it.
It does seem very odd that you can write to the HDD but not read from it. Presumably when you copy files to it they appear in Finder - you can see them OK? Do they appear to be the right size ("get info", or click in "columns" view). What exactly happens if you try to drag them back to the desktop?
I can only think that you may have a hardware or formatting problem, hence trying a different, freshly formatted, drive. -

Help with this acoustic guitar sound.

Having a break from recording vox for a bit. So now on to recording acoustic guitars
I need some help with this acoustic guitar i recored today, it sound ok? but needs help. I'v messed about with EQ but still not happy .
I'v put the recording up as a quicktime movie so you can see mic positions. Processing so far is a bit of compression and a dab of EQ cutting 500 Hz and reverb. Mic is a SE-Z5600.
The performance is far from perfect as this was a once through take for sound tests. Also the sync goes out between the audio and video no idea why
Any help would be great.

Hearing it back from a compressed file obviously is going to "skew" things a bit, but I actually fail to see what you don't like about it.
Here's the thing...
When the guitar is good (sounds like yours is), and the player is good (which you are), THAT"S the sound of the guitar.
Yes, mic choice, mic placement, mic pre-amps, size of the room, etc, all play a part, but here's the best kept secret in the biz...
All those things I just mentioned play the smallest part. Don't believe me?
Record that guitar with you playing, with 5 different mic, 5 different mic pres, in 5 different rooms, and you'll be stunned at how similar they all sound. Sure there will be various sonic differences, but those differences would be pale in comparison to a different player playing a different guitar.
Hmm, why not move the mic a bit more to the center hole of the guitar and >get a bit closer.
I would suggest NOT doing this, because of the proximity effect of placing a mic to close to the sound source, unless the mic was set in an omni pattern, and even then, I suggest against it, because a guitar is made to project tone, and when you stick a mic within an inch or two of it, you "choke" all that tone, and it's a very microscopic view of a intended bigger picture.
The "safest" place to place a single mic on an acoustic guitar, is out about 7 or 8 inches, from the 12th or 14th fret. You'll find a very balanced tone here. It's certainly not the only place to out a single mic, but it's the "tried and true" method, that will produce predictable and useable results everytime.
Other than that, a small diaphragm condenser mic will generally sound better on an acoustic guitar than a large diaphragm mic, like the one you're using. Again, that's a safe generalization... not to be written in stone, but will always produce good results.
I think you're recording sounds good. It sounds like you, playing your guitar. Isn't that the goal? -
I need advise and help with this problem .
First , I have been with Mac for many years ( 14 to be exact ) I do have some knowledge and understanding of Apple product .
At the present time I'm having lots of problems with the router so I was looking in to some info , and come across one web site regarding : port forwarding , IP addresses .
In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp

If the thief enabled activation lock on the device, then there is nothing that can be done. Only the password for the Apple ID that it is locked with can disable activation lock.

Hi can anyone help with this issue regarding my wireless magic mouse? When im on google chrome and scrolling down the page i always have youtube running in the background but the audio cuts/spits/pops can anyone help me with this?
The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet. Are you still using the same wireless router. The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace. For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio. I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

I just bought a new iPhone and accidentally backed it up with my old iPhone backup, I do not want this. I lost everything on my new phone and I need it back. PLEASE HELP! This includes pictures and texts, etc.
So just to be clear, when you say "just bought" how long ago was that? Is it on this new iPhone that you had pictures, texts, etc that you want? Were you backing up to iCloud or onto iTunes?
This may not help for everything but if you go to iCloud.com and log in, are you able to find your pictures there? -
I need to use my iMac to run some Windows software not available for Mac and was thinking of obtaining Parrallels Desktop 9 to help with this. If I use Parrallels do you still have to partitian your drive and does this leave you open to viruses?
You do not have to partition your drive - Parallels creates a disk image which contains your Windows installation. You do have to exercise anti-virus measures in the Windows partition, although such malware cannot affect the Mac filesystem.

Hello there!
I wanted to get an advice on how to get in touch with the appropriate person at BT that could help with my situation.
I have tried telephone help, complaints by email and unfortunately still waiting for somebody from the customer services to help me out.
I have recently moved home. I contacted BT on 26th June to organise the line transfer to the new address. The date was set for 18th July. I also ordered line rental saver and paid for it over the phone. All went smooth, telephone and broadband was working fine at the new place, but on the 23rd July I was sent an email that "BT is sorry that I am leaving".
I thought it was a mistake, but the lady in the on-line chat said somebody stopped my service. Later she rang and left a message saying that I must have requested to move to another provider. Did not manage to speak to her again, but phoned the help line this time.
There a gentleman was trying to convince me that I called BT and cancelled my service on the 18th July and to him I was not a BT customer anymore. The truth is that I did not request to stop my service, anyway - why would I do that after paying for a year in advance. This has no logic, but because computer says so then he thinks I did it.
He also added that my account is a 'mess'. He then promised that somebody would get in touch to sort it out as my line rental was gone and my phone and internet could go off any minute.
I did not get any help. After that I wrote to them 3 email complaints to request assistance. They called and aknowledge they will help, but 3 weeks down the line nothing was done to explain the situation. Left the messages to the person from email complaints to ring me or email me -never happened.
Last week I got 2 emails welcoming me to BT and outlining the call plans that were diferent from each other and the one I agreed to on the 25th June. When I called help line 2 days ago a lady confirmed on which one I am on, but could not sort out the most annoying thing - the 'final' bill.
I was sent a bill for over 200 pounds due to premature termination of phone and broadband service , which I never ordered. They already took the money this week. My line saver is gone as well. So I am 360 pounds short. I aslo have no access to myBT to monitor my phone activity or make orders.They also did not send any confrimation of the call plan I am currently on.
It is a very annoying situation, because somebody at BT made an error and I am unable to get to anybody that could help. Everytime you call the help line you speak to somebody else and despite me thinking the email complaints would be the way forward they are not. Would appreciate some advice on how to tackle these issues: false accusations from them, inappropriate billing, problem with myBT.
