OLAP connection in CMS in java sdk for BO 4.1

Hi,
How do I create  an OLAP connection using .java ?
provider is SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse  ... BW 7.x...based on BEx query.
What all jar files are needed ?
Authentication is LDAP.
I am new to sdk and OLAP creations.
It would be great if I get code snippet as well.
Is this possible ? if not possible in java then is it possible in .net?
I have already asked in .NET sdk but wanted to ask in java as well
Updated:
I missed to mention main requirement:
We are working on BO SAP Analysis tool that uses olap connections created in BO CMS based on BEX query in BW.
The connections created are used to run SAP Analysis on Excel tool.
The challenges is that we have 100 plus connections and many be time consuming also we have to migrate connections across regions.
Plan was to automate its creation thru any SDK/RestFul approach .
The first thing that came to my mind to automate its creation in CMC using .NET just as I was able to create a folder using plugin manager .
Thanks,
Regards,
Pramod.

So, this is really hackish, but it seems to work for me. Apparently there are different versions of the ConnectionServer.jar file in this distribution and I would guess that something is wrong with the build.
The file at C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Information Design Tool\plugins\com.businessobjects.connectionserver.jar is obviously used for IDT and is missing the CancelSupportLevel inner class.
The file at C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib\ConnectionServer.jar has this inner class, but I tried replacing the jar above with this one and then IDT exploded on start-up. So, I just added the compiled class file for the inner class PropertySet.CancelSupportLevel to the first JAR. This file is inside the second JAR in the com\businessobjects\connectionserver\ exploded folder. I used 7zip to do all this.
Now I can test the connection and view the parameters of the connection.
Hope this works for you.

  • Import a biar file into a specific folder in CMS through java sdk

    Hi,
How to import a biar file into a specific folder in CMS through java sdk?
    Can anyone help.
    Regards,
    Kavitha S

    Hi Kavitha,
Have a look at the sample available at
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-6006, for importing a biar file using java sdks.
As far as I am aware of, you would not be able to import the contents of a biar file to a specific folder.
Why would you want to use a biar file to import contents to a different folder?
Organize>Move functionality from CMC/Infoview/BILaunchpad can work for this.

  • Java SDK for windows 3.1

I have an old 486 in my room. The computer that has the SDK is out where my parents can see me when I'm doing my late night programming. I want to be able to put the java SDK on my Packard Bell 486 running windows 98. I searched and searched and searched some more off of google for a Java SDK for windows 3.1. The only thing i can find is IBM's program which they no longer service or even give you links to download their past versions. I am wondering if any of you guys know of any java SDK that will work on my 486 with windows 3.1.

    Good luck with that."

I have begged my dad to get a new computer just for the regular comptuer. The computer that I will "get caught" on is over 4.5 years old. When I ask him for another one he always says the one we have works.

  • Java SDK for RoboSapien RS Media

I have heard that there was a Java SDK for RoboSapien RS Media. I talked to a Customer Support Rep at WowWee and they said that the current Java SDK would work in it. If not that I can obtain the right one from Sun? But I can't seem to find where I could contact sun about it? The chat rep kept referring me to their downloads section but it's not listed. I was told by WowWee it was a CD and not a download.
Anyone know where I can get some help with this?

I don't think that is what I'm looking for. I am told the robot itself (ie. movements and stuff) can be programmed in Java. But there was a CD for the RoboSapien RS Media SDK and only 300 of the RS media was sold with the CD. Now I can't find them (or the SDK anywhere). Just RS medias without the SDK CDs.
Anyone know who I can contact about this and/or if anyone remembers these?I suspect you need both a standard JDK (probably) but you'll also be needing some libraries (jar files) of classes that you would be using in Java code to actually do things with the thing-a-bob.
To be honest I think you could be screwed Google finds alot of things saying "Coming soon" from 2007 and not much since..

  • Latest supported version of the Java SDK for XI R3.1

    Hi all,
Does anyone have any ideas or views on the latest supported version of the Java SDK for 3.1 on windows ?
We are using Tomcat which ships with SDK version 1.5.0_12, I know that updating this to a later version can result in a considerable performance boost for Infoview and its supported applications especially webintelligence.

Hi Bashir, That's interesting  you're using a relatively up to date version of the java SDK. Business Objects documentation states that versions up to 1.5.0_xx are supported. Did you notice any improvements in performance of the system by using the later version 1.6.0_17 ?. There are generally very significant improvements in successive updates of the SDK in term of memory management, reliability and other general bug fixes, so it's something that we will take into consideration.

  • Correct version of Java SDK for Red Hat 4 ES on x86_64

I need to install the Java SDK for Red Hat 4 ES on x86_64 and I'm unable to find the correct version to download.

  • Is there a Java SDK for Siebel Analytics/Oracle BI

Hi, I want to integrate with Siebel Analytics (now known as Oracle Business Intelligence, right?) to our product. Is there a JAVA SDK for Siebel Analytics/Oracle BI? If so, can anyone point me to the right place to get them. Much appreciated.

There is currently no JDK or any other API to work with OBI EE (formerly Siebel Analytics).
The presentation component exposes some functionality via web services.
You can interact with the BI Server via NQCMD so you could build your own application that executes NQCMDs but this is not well documented other than typing NQCMD ? at the command line.
The OBI Metadata is captured in a .rpd file which can be manipulated via UDML but this is not supported - do a search on Google for UDML (which is a proprietary format) for some examples on using this. OWB recently rolled out with some integration with OBI - it accomplishes this by manipulating the .rpd file using UDML.
The Oracle folks monitor this forum. If you can reply with some specifics as to what you want to accomplish, I'm sure they will consider your needs if they decide to publish an API.

  • Java SDK for Mac OS?

I'm new to java and even newer to Mac OS. Just got a mac laptop and was wondering if Sun had an SDK for Mac OS. Didn't see it on the download list. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Java runtime 1.3.1 comes bundled with the OS. JDK up to 1.4.1 and development tools are free downloads/updates from Apple (and I think the recent software update brings 1.4.1 to the masses). Go to apple.com and choose the "Developer" tab for juicy details. You'll need to register with the Apple Developer's Connection (free) to download the Developer Tools, which include SDK, and IDE, source examples, and other fun.

  • Connectivity between ABAP and Java Stacks for BI

    Dear all,
our BI developer have to use BW Analyser for showing and changing of BW reports in Java based NetWeaver Portal.
Initially just ABAP stack (SID DCE) was installed. In Februar 2014 I installed also an Java Stack (SID JCE) and got dokumentation for
connection to ABAP Stack from SAP Support, it is attached. Further help from SAP Support is not possible, they mean that this
    case belong to consultion issues.
    Follow activities were sucessfully done:
    1. RFC connection DMSAPERP4DEV_PORTAL_JCE was created in J2EE engine
    2. RFC connection DMSAPERP4DEV_PORTAL_JCE was created for Portal
    3. Portal Server Settings were maintained for portal
    4. Singe Sign-In in BI was maintained
    5. BI Certificate was imported from BI
    6. Portal Certificae was exported from Portal
    7. Portal Certificate was imported into BI.
By processing of attached SAP guide it was a problem at step 7 "Create BI System in the Portal"with the
creatig of BW system name. Under "System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape"
I found no systems which are maintained with the Portal Content Studio. I take a template "SAP_R3_Dedicated"
but can not change the system name to "SAP_BW", it is still "Dedicated Application Server for R/3 System". All other
    properties was set fine.
At step 8 of mentioned guide I face the next problem - there is no system names under "SAP Reference System"
under "Administration -> System Configuration -> Configuration for User Management", because the system
name on the step 7 could be not set correct, so I can not choose any.
Please advice how to proceed here.
    Thank you and best regards

    Hi,
It clearly says the problem is with virtual memory. SO you need to change your virtual memory settings using configtool.
    See the relevant note.940893
Make changes in the VM parameters for Bootstarp, Dispatched and the server nodes. Your -Xms should be less than equal to -Xmx.
    Restart the cluster then.
    It should work.
    Do reward good points.

  • Business Objects parameters names to configure using JAVA SDK for report generation

    Post Author: christof
    CA Forum: JAVA
Hello All, I have created a small set of reports which need to be generated from a Java application. The Crystal Reports configuration was relatively easy for the parameters as you have control over their names but is this also the case in Business Objects. For some reports I have created parameters linked to a user prompt. What would the parameters name be that I should use in the Java application. Is this then just the prompt text or should we use e.g. a number e.g parameter 1,.. Kind Regards,

    Post Author: Ted Ueda
    CA Forum: JAVA
Hello Christof,If you're referring to the Crystal Report parameters via code, then you would refer to them by their parameter name, and not their prompt string.I note that, with BusinessObjects (now called Desktop Intelligence), prompts were referred to by their prompt string.Sincerely,Ted Ueda
