Old MMS (picture messages) have a blue question mark. New picture messages show up fine.

So my phone died last night and when I charged it back up, all of the Old picture and video messages just had a blue question mark as shown in the picture.  I NEED some of the old pictures from my brother in law. New pictures are working just fine.
I have tried:
Resetting Network settings
Resetting all settings and setting up the phone again
Turning off iMessage and turning it back on
Turning off MMS and turning it back on.
Any ideas how I can restore these photos.

I have the exact same problem   Is there anyone who has a solution to this problem?
thanks in advance

  • Blue question mark instead of my picture message. Can anyone help?

I've recently restored my iPhone 4S and going back through my old messages none of the pictures can be opened. It's replaced with a blue question mark.  Can anyone help?

No app installed that will view the pics and bar codes.
Which email client are you using?  Which version?
File suffix of the pics & bar codes?  Example:  .pic, .bmp, .jpg, etc.

  • MMS showing up as blue question marks?

Hi, I recently updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. Now old photo messages that have been sent to me appear as white boxes with blue question marks. How do I/ can I get them back?
I was always able to view them previously. The ones that I am unable to view are about 12 months old

Publish to a local folder and launch this version in the browser by double clicking the index.html file.
If this is OK it means that you haven't uploaded all the files to the server.
If its not OK, try deleting the iWeb preference file before the restart. See "Fix iWeb" here....

  • On my MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks.

On my new MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks. This also happens on a website editor. But, when I am connected to the internet via Wifi, everything load properly. This is my work computer, so I have to be able to connect through the Ethernet cable to access everything. Please help me!

I mostly use Safari. But I also tried it on Firefox, Mozilla, and Camino. Mac OS X. It's my work computer, so I've only tried it at the office. I have to be connected through the Ethernet cable to access my files and email on the server.

Pictures on safari are popping up as blue question marks, instead of the picture. Help! I have a Macbook Air 2012.

    Ok, try this:
Go up into the menu bar where it says Safari in bold type.
    Then, click the Safari button.
    Then, click Reset Safari...
    I hope I helped,

  • I have a question regarding a small blue question mark instead of photo, I asked about this and was directed to a question about text edit, which, by the way, a neighbour helped with.

Email photographs not seen, photograph are replaced with a small blue question mark.....what do I need to do to see the pictures ?

    Hello tomfromridgetown,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that sometimes when you receive an email it contains a small box with a question mark for the attachment. It sounds like what you may be seeing is a windmill.dat attachment. Please review the attached article for information on what these attachments are and how to avoid them in the future.

  • I see that i have a problem after installing my new hard drive on my macbook pro mid 2009 version. I put a new hard drive, with all of my information from my old drive installed on it, into the computer. but now have the blinking question mark folder

i see that i have a problem after installing my new hard drive on my macbook pro mid 2009 version. I put a new hard drive, with all of my information from my old drive installed on it, into the computer. but now have the blinking question mark folder. I see that it means that it isn't reading the new hard drive.
did i miss a step between transferring all of my information from my old hard drive to the new hard drive and installing the new hard drive into the computer. I believe that i installed properly. it was quite easy.
    thanks for your help

It means there is no bootable system on the drive. If you still have access to the old drive, then I suggest you boot from it then clone it to the new internal drive. Use OPTION boot to boot from the Recovery HD on the old drive:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
         1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu then press the Continue
             button.
         2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
         3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
         4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it
             to the Destination entry field.
         5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
             the Source entry field.
         6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Source means the external old drive. Destination means the new internal drive.

  • Suddenly I see the usual blue box with question mark inside mail messages instead of pix

Suddenly I see the usual blue box with question mark inside mail messages instead of pix.
    That did not happen before.
It happened only on certain pages with Safari, like the google news feed which did not display pix.
However, this new mail problem is really disturbing.
I checked Little Snitch and port 80 is open.
    I checked java pref.
    I am at a loss.
    PLEASE HELP!

Suddenly I see the usual blue box with question mark inside mail messages instead of pix.
That indicates that your Mail preferences are setup to not display remote images in email messages. You should check Mail->Preferences->Viewing and make surre the box to 'Display remote images in HTML messages' is checked.
    I checked java pref.
Java has nothing to do with Mail, or displaying images in it or any browser.

  • Blue Question Mark(s) of Death

At random times on Facebook and with various ads, I'll get the dreaded blue question mark in place of a thumbnail. It's annoying as **** and I've never found a fix for it. I've reset Safari, emptied the cache, but it's not just Safari-related: it's happening in Opera, too. I tested it out on a Dell and everything was OK, but my five-month old MacBook Pro can't seem to handle images. What can I do?

This thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1334564) seemed to have worked the problem out by adding "ISP DNS servers to the Network settings."
Since I have the same AT&T 2Wire router, I went to their site and added the two DNS servers to my Network list (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/2588). I suppose Safari's a bit faster, but I still can't see the same images.

  • Blue question marks with new ATT U verse internet... why?

I just recently received my new modem and have hardwired my internet to my iMac OS X 10.7.3 w/ Lion and my Safari is 5.1.5 (7534.55.3)...
My problem is that some sites will either not open at all... referring to Safari can't find the server. And the others will have either blue boxes with questions marks *for pictures* or will open as a text page with no html... all left default.
I am sure this is an easy fix... for my computer ran just fine and is under 1yr old.
I am tired of being on the phone with tech support... so no more phone calls please!! :-)
If anyone has suggestions or know of this proplem with a fix... I would truly appreciate your help!!!
    Thank you very much!!
    jj
btw: i have cleared cache, updated adobe, reset my Safari, unplugged modem and restarted my computer. *sigh*

Thank you very much Linc Davis...
I used the Google public - IPv6 ending in 8844.
    Works perfectly now!!
