On call. Insert earbuds. Hang up?

I'm having trouble with the earbud-headset that's included with the iPhone 3G: when I'm on a call and plug my earbuds in, the phone hangs up immediately. Has anyone else seen this? This was never a problem with my original iPhone, and it's so weird. I get the feeling that this has probably been discussed before, but with forum search disabled, I couldn't find it--has anyone found a fix?

Just tried it on my 3G iPhone in Perth.
Made a call to it and after I answered the call plugged in the ear buds. The call stayed up.
Made a call from it, when the call was answered I then plugged in the ear buds. The call stayed up.
Sounds like you have a problem with your iPhone. Perhaps restart it and try again.

My iPhone5 is under warranty but during incoming call handset is hang. this problem 2-3 time a day. pleas help.

I'm experiencing what is I believe to be the same issue with my iPhone 4, and have been suffering in silence for about a week.
iPhone 4 model MC603X with Modem Firmware 04.10.01, 16Gb, cheap silicone cover, Vodafone NZ as my carrier.
My screen locks after 1 minute of inactivity as it should with my settings. Perhaps 1 call in 5, or 1 call in 10, the screen wakes up and displays called ID information etc correctly, but I cannot swipe to answer the call. The touch screen simply fails to respond.
If I push the power button briefly to silence the ringtone, this does not make a difference. The iPhone has to be locked (and screen turned off), then push a hardware button to wake up the display, and then I can swipe to unlock the device.
This is only since iOS 4.3 and unfortunately iOS 4.3.1 has not changed this behaviour.
    Any advice appreciated.
    Cheers, Mike

  • Is it possible to listen to music through bluetooth and be on a call with earbuds at the same time?

Is it possible to listen to music through bluetooth and be on a call with earbuds at the same time?
I would like to be able to talk on my iPhone with the EarPods while playing music via Bluetooth in my car.  Are there any third party products that will allow this?

Sorry,  iOS will pause the music playback when you are on the phone call.  You can set iOS to use bluetooth for your audo playback on your music app, and select the earpods for the phone app, but as soon as you answer the phone call, iOS will pause the music playback.  This is a core OS feature, so you will not find any certified iOS app that will do what you want.
As a side note, please use extra caution when using your ear pods while driving.  It is not safe as you may not hear emergency vehicles, car horns, railroad crossing bells, etc., and it is illegal in many states (in the US).

  • Lync 2013 Click to Call inserts icon with no src

    Hi,
We have a SP2010 farm and are about to enable Lync 2013 Click to Call for the business
We have one problem with publishing pages though
When we edit a page and enter a phone number the click 2 call icon appears after a second and looks fine, however, all the HTML the IE plugin generates for the icon gets inserted with the HTML source and after publishing the icon has no src attribute, it
    looks something like
    <a title="Call: +a number..." href="#" style="overflow:hidden;cursor:hand;border-top:medium none;height:16px;border-right:medium none;vertical-align:middle;white-space:nowrap;right:0px;border-bottom:medium none; !important;float:none;left:0px;margin:0px;border-left:medium none;display:inline;top:0px;width:16px;bottom:0px"><img title="Call: +a number.. alt="" style="overflow:hidden;cursor:hand;border-top:medium none;height:16px;border-right:medium none;vertical-align:middle;white-space:nowrap;right:0px;border-bottom:medium none; !important;float:none;left:0px;margin:0px;border-left:medium none;display:inline;top:0px;width:16px;bottom:0px"></a>
As you understand there's no image, just a white box with a black border which doesn't look good so for the moment I have to hide it with css
Any ideas on how to make SharePoint not save that HTML in edit mode but still display the icon once published?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Jdbc insert query hangs

We have 2 instances of the same program running in parallel. The application inserts data to a database table. one of the instance just hangs when it is trying to insert a query to database i.e. when executing statement.executeUpdate(). We are using a prepared statement to bind all parameter values. Instance 1 keeps running but instance 2 hangs and goes in a waiting state.
Is there any suggestions on how can this issue be investigated. I know a possible reason for hanging could be database lock, but I cannot understand, how it can have a database lock for insert query.
    oracle : 9.2.0.7
    java : jre 1.4

    user551224,
Are you running two separate Threads that both use the same database connection?
This issue has been discussed previously in this forum.
Search the forum archives for more details.
It could also be because of a database lock.
Are you trying to insert rows into the same table?
You could try using the FOR UPDATE NOWAIT clause to verify.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • JDBC batch query with insert sometimes hangs on executeBatch

How to know what happens inside the query? Why it hangs?

    Anton,
Why it hangs? It's waiting for a lock to be released. The default behaviour of Oracle is to wait indefinitely for a lock to be released.
You can see this behaviour if you try to update the same row from tw different "SQL*Plus" sessions, for example (since the default behaviour of "SQL*Plus" is not to automatically commit changes).
In one "SQL*Plus" session, update a row -- but do not commit. In the second session, try to update the same row -- it "hangs". It will remain like this until the first session releases the lock. The simplest way to release the lock is for the first session to execute either a "commit" or "rollback". As soon as you do that, you will see the first session become unstuck.
Of-course, from the [lack of] information you have posted, I cannot tell you what is holding the lock, or why.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Sql insert is hang/no respond

    hi
i had writing a simple porgram to insert data into oracle database.
    my code like this
    Connection conn = ..
    Statement stat= ..
stat.executeUpdate("select sysdate from dual") //this one ok
but when i running like this
    stat.executeUpdate("insert ...") //this one not ok
it just hang and no respond.
my database is oracle 10g, driver version = 10.2.0.4.0
    any idea ?
    regards,
    kiwi

Are you using username password for System? or any other user? First psosibility is the table was created in read-only mode if you think you have privileges to alter insert delte like that. Next is your insert query is wrong which you have not shown here. for which schema and table name.

  • Tuxedo Client using async calls... hangs sometimes!

Hello, I've noticed a fancy behaviour on Tuxedo Client applications...
I wrote an application which receives multiple connections on a socket and dispatches messages to a server with asynchronous calls, then receives asynchronous notifications. Of course it can send multiple async requests before getting a notification.
It seems that when I send an async request, and then I send another async request without getting the reply to the previous one first, the system hangs...
The call stack is quite clear... and I can see on the unix message queue an outstanding message..
I've used the TPU_DIP method, because none of the other unsolicited flavours works:
TPU_SIG: Hangs because malloc can be interrupted by a signal, and within the unsol handrel a tpalloc (which in turn calls malloc) is called, and a kernel spinlock is locked
TPU_THREAD: Hangs exactly in the same way ad TPU_DIP, but on a different thread...
Does anyone knows how to solve this HUGE issue? Thanks in advance!

I need asynchronous notifications for their particular behaviour: they are notified as soon as they arrive through signals ot through a thread handled by Tuxedo itself.
Now I've changed the policy of the process to use tpgetrply, but I have to poll in order to make it work, and it is UGLY.... anyway... anything else doesn't seem to work

  • Flashpaper called from "form" hangs

    Hello all,
I created a flashpaper .cfm page and it appears to run
perfectly until I call it from a form action page. I saw a previous
thread that mentioned a problem with this, but no solution was
    rendered.
I'm running on a goaddy.com server with CF7. My browser is IE
    7.0.5730.11.
When I call the flashpaper page from a form, the browser
status line indicates the page is downloading, but it never renders
    inside the browser.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Robert

Possibly. However, I changed it from flashpaper to PDF and it
worked like a charm. When I ran it straight from a URL the query
produced over 400 records (which translates to over 400 pages) and
it flaked out at around page 340 using flashpaper. With it set to
PDF, all the pages rendered correctly. Sweet! Now I just have tweak
the request form to produced the desired output from the query.
    Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Phone app (call log) stucks/hangs on z30

Hi, I'm using z30 and os is 10.2.1.3062. when I get miss call, phone app (call log) stucks. It won't work until I restart the phone. Please any one let me know how to resolve this problem.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't use any of those other than BlackBerry community app.
You have two alternatives. Search and see if anyone has found some problem with any of the apps, and maybe narrow it down to a likely suspect. Or else just start deleting one at a time. But focus on apps that might interact with the phone app or phone log database.
If you delete an app and problem goes away, then that's good, especially if you don't really need the app. If you add the app again and the problem returns, then you have repeated the problem and pretty much confirmed the app is the problem, at least for you. If you add the app and the problem doesn't return, then maybe it was a corrupt bit of app data or a setting that was cleared, and perhaps it will happen again.

  • Phone App's "End Call" button sometimes hangs and won't press!

Ever since the 1.4 update, about 1/4 of the time, when I'm trying to end a call, the screen does not react to my finger/button press and it won't end the call! I've also found a few times that it won't press a button (e.g. #1) on a call as well.
    This is a CRITICAL problem.

    Hello all;
I haven't experienced this myself, however are you able to flick the phone card off the screen with no delay? Does this happen when receiving a call while you're doing something else (tweeting, playing a game, etc)? Does it happen on outgoing calls as well? How about while using a headset (wired or Bluetooth) or speakerphone? Also, so far on this thread, I only see Sprint Pre's with this issue. Any Verizon Pre Plus users see this? How about on a Pixi (either flavor)?
Need some more information for troubleshooting, may also be beneficial to call technical support from a landline phone.
    Hope this helps,

I can answer a few of these but not all:
-It occurs even when it is the only app open (frequently).
-It occurs on incoming calls, outgoing calls, and voicemail calls.
-It occurs while using the phone's earpeice, speakerphone, and while using a headset (plugin, not bluetooth, I don't own a bluetooth unit).
-Essentially, I haven't ended a call *without* this 4-6 second delay a single time since before webOS 1.4.0, and it occurs under a wide range of usage conditions.
