I cannot see my iTunes library in iPhoto to add music to a slideshow

Hi Mary3400,
I'm not sure which version of iPhoto you are using, but see if the troubleshooting in this article helps.
iPhoto '11: Add music to a slideshow
The top section explains how to, the second section is for if you don't see your iTunes library as a source.
Best regards,

    Hi Monty,
Sorry to say it, but this is normal for Apple TVs. I've owned a TV2 and a TV3, and neither lasted for an entire year. They are quite fragile and of low quality, and as you can see here, quite fussy even when they work. The wi-fi receiver on these are cheap and unreliable.
Consider the $99 an annual rental fee. They rarely work for a whole year, so if you are going to use the platform, you will have to replace them constantly.
Also, when one dies under warranty, never, never send it to Apple for repair. Go to the Apple Store for replacement. I sent my ATV3 in for warranty repair using a box sent to me by Apple, and although FedEx tracking showed it was accepted by Apple, it was never seen again. Apple won't replace it or even return my calls.

  • Mac Book Pro won't see my iTunes Library on an external drive

I have a brand new Mac Book Pro and my iTunes Library is on an external drive.  My computer won't see this Library even if I change the location under Preferences.  All I can see are my purchases from the iTunes Store on my iCloud.  I don't want to clutter up my MBP with my iTunes Library so what should I do?
I'm running Yosemite and latest iTunes
    Thanks for any help
    Les

Really a library, or just media?  A library is a complete collection of files an folders including the critical iTunes Library.itl file, generally all enclosed in an "iTunes" folder.  You do not direct iTunes to open a library with preferences, you do it by holding down the option/alt key while starting iTunes and guiding it to the .itl file you wish it to use.

  • Mac Pro doesn't see third monitor

    Guys:
My Mac Pro doesn't see all three of the monitors that I have hooked up...what am I doing wrong?
I previously came to you for your expert advice about video cards...I went and upgraded my Radeon 4870 which was running two monitors (Eizo and NEC) to a ATI Radeon 5870 in order to run three monitors (my new Cintiq)
When the Cintiq was not hooked up yet, the Mac saw the Eizo and NEC. When I connected the Cintiq...the Cintiq and the NEC show up but not the Eizo.
I went and upgraded the video card so I could run all three monitors because I didn't want to plug and unplug the Cintiq whenever I needed it. I believe I did my due diligence as far as research was concerned to ensure this would all work together...I'll be pretty bummed if this configuration can't do three monitors not to mention the financial cost.
Any help would be appreciated...as always.
    Thanks!

I read your links, if I understand correctly, it may work with Dual Link DVI adapters?
    My monitor connections are:
Eizo: DVI with the cord that came with the monitor (unsure if DVI single or dual link)
    NEC: VGA to mini display
Cintiq: DVI to mini display (think it is a single link DVI)
Thanks!...so what do I need to go buy?
Here's a partial answer (need more info to answer about single vs. dual link, more about that later).
In the Mac Pro (Mid 2010)... document I referenced above there's a key note:
Note: The Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adaptor and Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adaptor are considered active adaptors.
So if you get the apple mini-displayport to VGA adaptor that will count as one of the active adaptors.  I use one of those incidentially but I am not sure but it may be that all mini-displayport to VGA adaptors are consider "active".
Now for the single vs. dual link DVI question.  It depends on the max resolution of those monitors (or the max you want to run them at).  Single link DVI has a max resolution of 1920 x 1200, while dual link DVI can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600.  So that's why I cannot answer this part of your question (you didn't specify the max resolution).  If you only need single link active adaptors they will certainly be a lot cheaper than dual link.
Also note, you should only need two active adaptors on the card to support 3 monitors.  So only one of the remaining connections needs to be an active adaptor.  The other can be passive (much cheaper).

Hi folks... I'm the MacBook Pro user in the house.

  • Adobe Lightroom on MacBook Pro does not see my iphoto library

Adobe Lightroom on MacBook Pro does not see my "iphoto library"

    Hello.
The problem is that the iPhoto library is inside of iPhoto. Lightroom won't let you select it because it's basically a shortcut to iPhoto. Try exporting the images you need or all of them, depending on what you need.

If you can't click Window and then iTunes to bring the Window to the Front, try suggestions in the following article.

  • Cannot see itunes library in Photos slideshow

When creating a slideshow with PHOTOS, I compiled and edited the pictures. When trying to include music from my iTunes library, I get the following message: "Open iTunes to populate this list". No way of seeing my iTunes library within Photos, hence no slideshow with music from my library.
I've tried trashing the iTunes XML file, but no result.
iMac (late 2013), OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, latest iTunes
    Thanks.

I just created a test slideshow and then clicked on the music icon on right side and my iTunes library shows up

  • How can I see my iTunes library on my iPad

How do I see my iTunes library on my iPad?
I am in the same network but cannot find my songs in my library on my home computer.

settings > iPod > home sharing. when you open the iPod app, there will be an additional entry "library" on the top left of the window (just below the volume slider) from where you can select your Mac's iTunes library.
note that you can use the videos app to view videos.

  • HT202213 I have done all this but i am not seeing my Itune library on my Apple TV

I have itunes in Germany and can see various Movie and TV channels on the Itunes that i am using on my PC.
I purchased some documentary from that itunes and they also show in the Itunes in the PC.
I also put homesharing and it shows correctly on the vertical bar on the left side of itunes.
However, I cannot access my itune library from my Apple-tv, despite of many many attempts. Oddly enough, the music shows in the music folder but not the pictures nor the movies that i bought in itunes.
I also cannot see the TV channels that i have on the german Itunes in the apple Tv. There is no icon for tv channels , even though they are in itunes under the same id and password.
I have looked everywhere but there is no guidance on this issue whatsoever.
Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

If Firewall is on in Mac OS X (in the Sharing pane of System Preferences), make sure iTunes Music Sharing is selected. This worked for me. Although I have not seen this answer posted in the support community forums, so far, it is listed as No. 2.2 under TIPS in the troubleshooting guide http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1453.

Try homesharing. I am not sure if this will keep them seprate but this is really close to what you are looking for.http://www.apple.com/itunes/inside-itunes/2010/01/sharing-itunes-libraries-at-ho me.html

  • How do I sync my music from my iphone to my mac when I have created a itunes library on my old computer?

How do I sync my music from my iphone to my mac when I have created a itunes library on my old Hewitt packard computer?
Thought by connecting my phone to computer it would automatically duplicate. Only seems to work with a small amount of music which I downloaded through my mac
Im no expert with computers so need some step by step advice
I have over 1000 songs on my iphone and want to back it up on my mac itunes
Want to upgrade my iphone and dont want to loose my music and ideally want to import it onto my new iphone
    Need help?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss.  To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • Can't see my iTunes library when selecting background music for a slideshow

I don't see my iTunes library when I'm selecting background music for a slideshow -- I have tried using iphoto help (seee below) and it didn't work:
"If you don't see your iTunes library:
Quit both iTunes and iPhoto. Relaunch iTunes first, then iPhoto.
If you recently installed iLife software, it's a good idea to open each application in the following order: iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, and then iDVD. Because these applications are integrated to browse and import files from each other's media libraries, this ensures that you will be viewing the most up-to-date versions of your music library, photo library, and movies folder no matter what application you're using.
Recreate your iTunes Music Library.xml file. Quit iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and iTunes. Click the Finder icon in the Dock, and choose Go > Go to Folder. Type "~/Music/iTunes" or "~/Documents/iTunes" and click Go. Drag the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file to your desktop. Open iTunes and create a new playlist by choosing File > New Playlist. Quit iTunes and open iPhoto to make sure you can see your iTunes library when creating a slideshow."
    Any suggestions?

I have this problem also - tried following advice giving from original problem.
My settings are through the what I call the Lug Nut icon - no arrows and no dimple showing on my screen.
Is there some small thing I'm missing here - weird thing is that iDVD allows me to access my iTunes library - no problem.
When I go to Finder it tells it can't find my Music folder??? I can see it in the sidebar .....
Any suggestions - I don't know how to send those screen shots but what a great idea.
