HT204407 Find my Friends app signs me out even while running in background. How can I fix this?

This happened before and after updating the OS to iOS6. If I open FmF, sign in, it won't stay signed in. I can't use the alerts because after a time, even if I leave the app running in the background, it signs me out. I can still be found by others but can't be informed when friends reach locations.
My husband and I purchased the same phones at the same time, and his does not have the same problem. We sync using the same Apple ID and share apps. The only issue I can imagine would be a setting that differs between phones but have not been able to nail it down.

Try creating a passcode for your device in settings. This means you need to enter the passcode before accessing anything on your device, this way you will stay signed into the FmF app even while running in the background and it will not require you to sign in every time you launch the app. However, once you remove the passcode to your device in settings, the FmF app will again require you to sign in whenever you launch the app. I think this is for security reasons.

If none of your third-party apps are working, but the Apple built-in ones are ok, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted. In terms of re-downloading apps then you can do so as long as they are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
-Close FCP
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
-Empty your trash
Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.

Skipping songs
The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
If you use Windows you may like to try scanning the files with MP3Validator which can find & fix some internal MP3 errors.
Some users have also suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information can be a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/control clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags> None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I have found files for which these solutions don't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g.convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original files back onto the iPod.

Do yo have Shuffle turned on?
- On the Now Playing screen on the right hand side below the scrubber bar are crossed arrows. That is the Shuffle control. Tap it until it is white for no shuffle
