(on the web) can preview be removed/stopped until the message opened?
I'm running 10.5 and "the cloud" will not supress the preview portion/display so I can quickly move through my mail!
...Especially when I have to go to the library to access mail - MS-esplorer is very slow to respond/access the cloud and the cloud from home may be better but it is still a hassle.
I have checked my preferences (they're okay) and I find no "view" to change the preview.
Help?!?

Whilst it won't help you recover documents that have already become corrupt, can I suggest you get into the habit of backing up your documents in the cloud regularly.

I've a "bug" with the apps downloading. This one stops at the end and stays like that infinite. The app doesn't appears normally on the homescreen. The app is on the home screen, and its downloading is blocked at its end, without showing the app like it should when it's finished downloadung. Does someone can help me and fix this please?

I had heard that these switches didn't stack unless everything was identical.
I only tried it at all out of pure desperation.
I've applied and tested every version 3 firmware in standalone mode via a console cable and xmodem.
They either never come up properly receiving decompression errors and reboot constantly in a loop.
Occasionally they stall / jam and stay there displaying the same error with no rebooting.
And twice out of 80-100 times I got it to boot to the username and password screen in standalone mode.
But as soon as I made a change it crashed and started the rebooting cycle again. -
Basically I want to combine to clips with correct timings. For that I want to view the two clips overlapping each other, each being semitransparent to see both at the same time, so that I can decide where to stop of the first clip and start of the second clip? Thanks.

I am trying to upload the latest version of itunes 10.5 so that I can set up my new iPhone 4s and it keeps saying that the bonjour can not be removed.
Please help me I have been trying to tackle this for the last 4 hours!!!Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Updated to Mavericks OS X but can't use my external drive by WD My Passport. The Mac reads it but I can't add/remove files to the external drive. Help?!
The WD My Passport, I purchased back in early December 2013 & I just used it the other day after I updated my Macbook... & of course it says in the online manual it works for Mac Lion, Mountain Lion, Snow Leopard but not this new Maverick update. You should use Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, booted up on your install disk, before you make a clone of it.
I then partition my external disk, in Disk Utility, with a partition that is the same size , actually a tad bigger, as my system disk. I then use SuperDuper to clone my system disk over to that partition.
With a clone on an external FireWire drive (USB drives are not bootable on some Macs) you can bootup on it to do your repairs or just run your Mac anytime you have trouble with your main drive. Be careful, there are a few external FireWire drives out there that are not bootable on Macs. Check the drive's manual to be sure.

Once I upload my music library to the Cloud can I then remove it from my computer to free up space on the hard drive?
iTunes Match does not allow streaming to a computer.
If you want to utilize the media on the computer, it must physically be on the computer.
Also, if syncing media from the computer to an iDevice, the media must be physically on the computer to sync. Removing that media from the computer will remove it from the iDevice it is synced with.
iTunes Match is not a backup and should not be utilized as single storage for content. -

Macbook Pro 2,33Ghz Core 2 Duo Radeon X1600, it has been presentng screen artifacts since a year ago. It is not in warranty now, but I read in the web that plenty of people is having the same problem as an early degradation issue. Sometimes the system freezes and stops respondign so I have to restart and lose all the unsaved work. A few moths ago, the Superdrive stopped recognizing the disc because of a firmware update released by Apple!! It is not acceptable. Solution?
Apple should give a solution to all these people who spent more than 2500$ in a laptop that has stopped working in less than 3 years!

When using Overdrive Media to down load a book from the library it starts ok but stops near the end of the first part. I get no indication on the ipod of the book downloading. Is this a operating error or posable failure of the I pod.?

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.

Since about 2 weeks ago for no apparent reason, the internet on my iPad suddenly stopped working (when I open Safari, it says: "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet"), even though the Wifi icon in the top left corner still shows full signal. However, I noticed when I went into Wifi settings (Settings>Wifi) that there is no checkmark next to my network name (only the spinning circle icon, as if it's trying to process something). This only happens at home (I can browse the internet while connected to Wifi at university). My other Apple devices (MacBook Pro and iPhone 4S) work perfectly fine at home.
I've tried resetting my router, restarting my iPad, resetting Network Settings on my iPad, and tried following Hynes' instructions on this thread:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2453187?start=15&tstart=0, but nothing has worked so far (although I have to admit that I found the instructions on that thread somewhat confusing, so there is a chance that I accidentally did not follow them properly).
Could someone please help? It'd be VERY much appreciated. -
When I attempt to access my IRA account on line, I get a message saying that the web site requires a client certificate. The certificates listed in the drop down dialog box don't get accepted, even though one is indicated as valid and good until October 2014. I contacted the IRA account managment company and they sais it's an Apple issue. Any ideas?
Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.

I have an iMac purchased in May 2011. OSX Lion 10.7.3. I deleted backup file from the external hard drive which operates from Time Machine.
Now, the trash can will not empty some of the files deleted from the backup harddrive.
The trash contains-- File folder: "Core Services" which contains a locked file: "boot.efi".
It will not delete.
How do I get the trash can empty of these files?Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?
