One hour time difference between Palm and Exchange calendar items

Calendar items on Exchange and Palm are off by one hour.
Exchange server, desktop PC and Palm are all set to PST with the same time. Versamail account on Palm has been deleted and rebuilt.
See screen shots at http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kPKBDS28rhdVsextLM1PPQ?feat=directlink
What is interesting is the appointments entered in Outlook show up on the Palm one hour early however they show the correct time in (parenthises) so the Palm seems to be somewhat aware of the problem.
This same issue occurs on different Palm T/X 's with different Outlook accounts.
Any suggestions are welcome

    Why is the time different between Mac OS X and Windows XP on my computer?
    The Windows XP and Mac OS X operating systems handle your computer's date and time information differently, so the date and time may be different when you switch operating systems. For best results, use a network time server and resync the date and time whenever you switch operating systems. In Mac OS X, use the “Set date & time automatically” option in the Date & Time preferences. In Windows XP, click the Update Now button in the “Date and Time Properties” control panel.

    "I found a better solution to this whole thing. The problem with the Windows clock being off is because the hardware clock (the one on your actual motherboard) is being set to "Universal" time, or GMT, when you shut down your MacOS bootup. When you boot Windows, Windows assumes your clock is set to your local timezone because that's what Windows does by default. This explains why the people who set their MacOS clock to GMT got the right time in Windows... If the hardware clock is being set to "GMT," when it's actually the local time, Windows will pick this setting up as local time as it did before.
    To fix this, you need to add a key to your Windows system registry to tell Windows that your hardware clock will always be GMT.
    * WARNING: Editing your registry improperly can render your Windows installation inoperable. Proceed VERY carefully. I am not responsible if you mess something up. *
    The short solution for people who know how to edit the registry:
    A DWORD key called HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation\RealTimeIsUniversal needs to have the value of "1"
    The step-by-step solution is as follows:
    1. Boot Windows
    2. Click Start --> Run and type regedit. Click OK
    3. The Windows Registry Editor should pop up. Navigate within the explorer to:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
    4. Click on the TimeZoneInformation "folder" from the navigation pane if you haven't already done so.
    5. This assumes the correct key doesn't exist. If it does, you will just change the existing key's value: Right click on the white space within the folder (If you don't have a right mouse button, you may need to download a program called applemouse to emulate the "control-click" of the apple 1-button mouse). Select new --> DWORD Value. Title the key "RealTimeIsUniversal" (No quotes). Set the value to "1" (No quotes again). Hexidecimal should be fine.
    6. Either reboot and set the clock in MacOS or set the clock in Windows. You should now be able to reboot into either OS and have a correct clock."

  • Difference between IMAP and "Exchange" account in mail?

    Hi,
    I'm using a Hosted Exchange 2007 account with Entourage 2004 actually. Now I want to try using Mail as an alternative application. As the server offers IMAP I could setup a new IMAP account in Mail and receive my Mails from Exchange. But Mail offers an "Exchange" account additionally. Can anyone explain me the difference between theese two Mail accounts? Is one better, faster or whatever?
    Best regards,
    Heiko

    Exchange uses a proprietary mail exchange protocol, while imap is standard. You can use a lot of different mail clients on different platforms with imap, and you don't have to worry about synchronization or conflicts since its server based. When you establish an imap connection, though, you stay connected to the server, so it's a relatively high resource user. Exchange is more verbose, and although its fundamentally server based using different exchange clients from different places doesn't synchronize well. Exchange will also update your outlook calendar, while imap will not. If it's just for mail, I vastly prefer imap.

  • Time difference between iPhone and iMac

    I have both iPhone and iMac set to the same time zone and time. However, whatever iCal entries I make, there is a 9 hour difference between the two (iPhone being 9 hours behinf iMac).. Obviously, I am missing some setup somewhere but I truly cannot figure it out.

    Sorry for hasty posting. Deep in the setup, under Mail, Contacts, Calendar, the Calendar was set to Cupertino and I am in Prague. That is why, stupid me ...

  • Time differences between camera and iMovie

    Hi,
    When I import footage from my Mini-DV camera into iMovie I am seeing a difference between the time displayed on the tape and time displayed in iMovie. The camera says 48 seconds while iMovie says 44 seconds. I thought that it might be related to the framerate of the video in iMovie, but I have changed this to 25 fps which matches the video camera and am still seeing a different time. The framerate needs to be perfect as the footage is going to be shown side-by-side with a animated graph which builds with time.
    Does anyone have any idea what could cause this time difference?
    Thanks

    < scratching head > we had something about a NTSC/PAL issue.. hmm.. ?
    if possible, open an existing PAL project (window titles says DV-PAL), save it under a diff. name, import into that project, delete the not wanted parts..
    another option is, quit iMovie, delete ~/Library/Preferences any com.apple.iMovie.plist file.. relaunch iM.. that 'resets' iM... sometimes, it starts to stumble..

  • What is the difference between IMAP and Exchange IMAP account type?

    At the server side there is Exchange 2007, but I don't want to use that as there is no possibility to assign mailboxes for sent mail, so which type of account should I set - IMAP or Exchange IMAP? What is the difference between the two?

  • Can any one brief the difference between MSDN and Developer licensing

    We are looking at the licensing for SQL Server for  our development Team.
    The scenario will be a   a common  DB server for entire development team.
    MSDN is a user based licensce which doesn't suits for our requirement.
    Any help  on this with appropriate licencing will be appreciated
    Thank you
    Shahan

    Could you please explain difference and limitation between  MSDN and Developer edition
    The Developer Edition is available to everybody. It costs
    $59.95 in the Microsoft Store. But it's only available to be used in *development and testing* scenarios. You cannot use Developer Edition for production purposes. Developer Edition has equivalent functionality to Enterprise Edition.
    Within the MSDN Library there are also media and licenses available for the other editions of SQL Server. These instances, also, are only available for development and testing scenarios, but there are scenarios in which one might wish to *TEST* against a
    Standard Edition, Business Intelligence edition , or Enterprise Edition installation rather than a Developer Edition instance.
    The MSDN Library subscription is licensed on a per-user basis, so anybody using those three editions (Standard, BI, Enterprise) must also hold an MSDN Subscription, or you must own SQL CALs for those users to use Std/BI/Ent editions.

  • Configuration Fails - Time Difference Between SA and SSO

    I know this is going to be a light-bulb moment for me but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.  I'm configuring SA and at the vCenter SSO credentials page.  I put in the credentials and get the following error:
    Installation aborted - could not authenticate to vCenter Single Sign On due to time difference.  Please synchronize the clocks of Support Assistant Virtual Appliance and vCenter Single Sign-On server and retry the operation.
    I changed the timezone for the SA appliance to match that of our vCenter server and I'm still getting that error.  I noticed that the time is off by 7 hours on the appliance so I tried to trick it by setting the timezone to somewhere in Europe (which then showed the same time as vCenter), but it still failed.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Difference between Gmail and Exchange when setting up email

    Hi all,
    When adding my Gmail email details in Settings in iOS7 (Via Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account) I’m presented with the options to use Exchange or Google.
    I know back in the early days of the iOS it was always preferable to use Exchange as it synced everything on your phone perfectly (mail, contacts, calendar) but it seems that now the Google option is just as good…?
    Other than the capability to push emails to my device (a function that I don't use anyway), is there any other difference between the Exchange and Google options when setting up email?
    Thanks,
    David

    I've tested it out on my iOS7 5s; the calendar and contact syncing seems to work absolutely fine though?
    This was in reference to the Google option. It syncs mail, calendar, contacts and notes all absolutely fine as far as I can see - I wanted to check I wasn't missing anything.
    Any need to get narky there?

  • Execution time difference between Statspack and DBM_Monitor trace

    Hi Everyone,
    We noticed that output of query execution time is quite differ between statspack and session tracing (DBMS_MONITOR) report. The query execution time in Statspack was 1402 sec and in session trace file was 312.25 Sec. FYI database version is 11.2.0.3 which is installed on platform OL 5.8
    Both of the following reports (Staspack/tracing) was executed on same system and at the same time. Could you suggest why execution time is differ in staspack and session tracing?

    Hi,
    First of all, please read the [url https://wikis.oracle.com/display/Forums/Forums+FAQ]FAQ page and find out how to use the code tags to format your output properly so that it's readable.
    I don't want to work out the stats formatting but I'd guess that if you ran the query first time and the data was not cached, it would be slower than the 2nd query when it was cached. The stats should confirm this so please format them so we can see it properly.

  • Time difference between physical and logical standby

    Hi,
    I have just been tasked on getting some info and setting up dataguard for some users for read-only/reporting purpose.
    The 3 questions I am being asked are:
    1. What is the time difference in applying changes from primary to physical standby compare to logical standby
    2. What is the overhead maintenance of having a standby database?
    3.What latency is involved?
    I will be glad to have your input on this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Physical Standy where its a read only DB.
    Logs are applied.
    Logical Standy where it can be Read / Write DB and the logs are applied in terms of SQL Statements.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Page load time differences between IE and Firefox

    Hello all,
    I have a problem with page loading time in IE 8. My page contains tabular form, classic report and some other items. I use some javascript code(placed in HTLM Header section) and also dynamic actions. When I try to display the page in IE I have to wait for 40 seconds (100 rows in tabular form). I realized that the performance is dependent on the number of displayed rows in the tabular form. But decrease the number of visible rows, using pagination, is not an option, because all needed rows should be visible for the users. During the tests I have tried to remove all the JS code and disable all the dynamic action, but the loading time was more or less the same.
    When I try to run the same page in FireFox then it is displayed in 4 seconds!
    I have already try to search some tips or advices how to speed up the page loading, but only what I have found out is, that every web browser is different. The javascript is handled differently, page rendering is done differently and so on.
    Maybe there is something what I have missed, and you experts can help me. Is there anything general what I should check or change to speed up the loading time in IE?
    Thanks in advance!

    APEX v. 4.2.1.00.08
    IE 8.0.7600.16358
    FF 19.0.2

    Thanks Denes for your reply.
    I use HttpWatch tool to measure the loading times. Reports are mostly the same for IE and FF. I can see from the report, there is three times shown error 404 Not Found for the items below.
    http://......./images/sRegion-Body.png
    http://......./images/sRegion-Bottom.png
    http://......./images/sReportBG-Standard.png
    The last action which caused 404 error started 2 seconds after the page was asked to refresh. The next action http://......../i/libraries/jquery-ui/1.8.22/ui/i18n/oracle/jquery.ui.datepicker-cs.js started after 38 seconds (hanging in the same place for 36 seconds). Does it mean that the problem is caused by http://......./images/sReportBG-Standard.png action which returns 404 error?
    How can I add the missing images?

  • Difference between Cabinet and Exchange

    So, I might be being a little dumb here (which would not be the first time) but I feel I must be missing something and its probably in my understanding of the terms...
    Exchange = The big building that houses all of the tech that occasionally members of the travelling community like to relieve of copper
    Cabinet = The shiny green box at the bottom of my road that recently set up shop next to the dull old green box enabling me to receive FTTC
    Providing the above is correct, why do all the "exchange checker" tools including BT's own measure the distance between my house and the exchange when calculating my potential speed? Surely the whole point of FTTC is that the fibre (with its massive capacity) is run to the cabinet... Isn't it (within reason) irrelevant how far I am from the exchange?
    If the speedchecker says "your X distance from your exchange and can expect a speed of Y" wont Y actually be quite different it I'm only actually 0.25X distance from the cabinet?
    OR... am I just being an idiot?
    Ross

    You are right.  For FTTC, only distance from the cabinet matters.
    The main estimator tool does take this into account.
    On some of the tools you will see a figure called 'uplift' quoted.
    This is the improved speed to expect from a connection to your cabinet rather than a connection to the exchange.
    eg, you may have an ADSL speed of 18, an uplift of 3, and an estimated 54 for FTTC.
    I don't remember any tool that actually quotes your distance from the cabinet.
    For example: http://fttc-check.alc.im/  gives an uplift.
    The telephone number based http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome is informative.
    ~~~
    Of course, as always with estimates, there is lots to go wrong.  They are estimates, not promises, despite many posters complaints about 'not being given what we were promised' or  'not being given what we are paying for'.
    Most people find they are a bit above the estimate, but it looks as if as more people join FTTC, crosstalk between them will lower their speeds to near the estimate.  Some get much lower; aluminium lines is a particular bugbear for FTTC/VDSL which the estimator does not take into account.  And for a very few, the records are just screwed up and the estimate rubiish.
  • Response time difference between copy and original
    I have make an export of my database like that :
    EXP system/manager@mybase owner=myowner file=exp_mybase_myowner.dmp
    and an import in new session (on same server):
    IMP system/manager@mybase2 full=y file=exp_mybase_myowner.dmp
    To increase performance of my two databases, i have drop all indexs and recreate them.
    But, response time is significantly different between databases.
    How can i solve this problem ?
    1. Analyze all the tables that are used in your query by using command:
    Analyze table <table_name> compute statistics;
    You can alsp use package DBMS_STATS.GATHER_DATABASE_STATS to calculate the statistics for all object in DB.
    2. Have you checked the DB_BLOCK_SIZE for both the DB? Is it same? Command "SHOW PARAMETER DB_BLOCK
    4. Is the SGA size same for both the DB? Command "SHOW SGA"
    3. Was there sufficient RAM to create the SGA? I hope you are not using SWAP space for the SGA
