One person doesn't recieve my texts

I have a 5 and my friend use to have a 4s. We had no problems with sending/receiving texts with one another. A few weeks ago he changed to the Samsung S4. Again, no problems. Since I've downloaded ios7, I can no longer send him texts. It says undelivered. The only way I can send him a text is to hit the "send as text message" button. I do receive all of his texts without a problem. He is the only one I have this problem with. No problems with anyone else no matter what phone they have. Does anyone know what's going on?

Even though this just started after your update, if he didn't de-register or turn off iMessage on his iPhone before switching devices, it is still trying to send him the message via iMessage.
It takes 30 days from the time a person stops using iMessage for the Apple servers to automatically de-register the iMessage account on their servers.

One person does not receive my texts

Beginning a week ago, one of my friends cannot receive any of my texts. We can both call each other, it works fine. He can send me a text and I do receive it. If I attempt sending him a text it looks like it went through but he never receives it. I have tried 1) Deleting his contact and texting by typing in the number, 2) Adding a 1 in front of his number to be a full 10 digits, 3) removing the 1 and just texting his 9 digits, 4) deleting all previous thread conversations with him 5) Re-adding him as a contact, 6) reviewed my account, no blocking is on, 7) reviewed his online account with Tmobile, no blocking is on 8) Called Verizon tech support, they said it must be his phone that can't receive texts but he can get other peoples text 9) Deleted and uninstalled the 3rd party messaging service "TextNow" app that had installed 10) Factory re-set my phone. NOTHING works. This is not acceptable. I'm not going to continue using a phone that won't allow me to text one person. He can get other people's texts and I've seen his online account, there are no blocks on me. Please advise what I need to fix this. I already talked to VZ Tech Support, they had ZERO suggestions except to say "it must be his phone because if you couldn't send texts then you wouldn't be able to send them to anyone". By the way, I've now reinstalled the TextNow app (a third party messaging service) and they allow me to text his phone. If this continues with Verizon without a resolution, I can't remain a customer.

We know how important it is to be able to contact our friends, family, and loved ones, especially while on the go. With text messaging constantly growing in popularity, reliability needs to be at the forefront of its delivery. I'm eager to get this taken care of for you. May I ask do both you and your friend have Verizon Wireless? What make and model are the phones being used? As an entry level troubleshooting step, I would suggest deleted the text conversation, reboot both phones, and retest. Let me know if more help is needed.

Droid turbo doesn't recieve group texts

i have been testing the droid turbo, I switched from an iPhone. I can not recieve group texts from anybody, is there a fix?

i have removed my number from the apple iMessage list and everything...

Hey, i have recently noticed that my iphone 3g 4.1 wont receive every single sms people send to me, this is becoming more and more annoying as i have no idea whos text me or not!
i dont know whether its a hardware problem or just the software. but its not like "it will only receive from certain phones" because it will receive some and then randomly stop receiving from that person but receive from another person!

Regardless, it's not an iPhone issue... it's a carrier issue.
Contact your carrier and have the other party contact their carrier as well.
SMS's are not guaranteed to be delivered. If it's a really important message, pick up the phone and call the person.

This error looks like a carrier message. Does this person have an iOS device? It appears not, but this looks like an SMS error. I suggest that you contact your carrier to see if they can explain the error.

Msg 2114 error when i try to text this one person with my iPhone 4S???

I seem to have an issue when i try to text this one person.....
They do NOT recieve my texts.....but i can recieve theirs.

Tried deleting the contact , resending just using the number hand typed in...and still does not work!

Finally Worked! Remove all instances of the contact name and number used in previous messages, phone calls, recents, etc. Shut down sms, mms, imessage, etc in settings. Restart phone. Go back to settings and restart sms, mms, imessage. Send a text without creating the contact first, just enter the 10 digit cell number and send text. Worked for my iphone 4s texting to 1 person's android I couldn't send before. That 1 person was a previous contact that had only 7 digits entered for the phone number. Now I added that contact back to the list and sending text still works. Contact phone number now shows up as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx . Thanks wjosten.

Sending texts; will send to one person, not two or more

Just switched messaging client from "Messages" to ATT messaging client. I can receive texts okay, and can send okay... except to just one person. When I add a second name (or more), I get a message that says, "Delivery failed. Tap and hold to resend". When I do that, it sort of freezes... the little wheel just keeps spinning with no end. I have to delete the message.What's up?

To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more abouttroubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while on a call if your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls.
Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.

I can't text one person

I can't text or receive texts from one person. That person is not an IPhone user.

If a non-iPhone user doesn't receive your text messages, and vice-versa, their device may not be compatible with iMessages.
This article has a method to deactivate iMessage, which should allow you to communicate with them via text:

Symptoms

You are unable to receive SMS on your non-Apple device when sent from another person using an iPhone.
You are unable to send SMS to a non-Apple device because they are sent as an iMessage.

If you are experiencing one of the symptoms above, the cellular phone number may still be registered with iMessage.
iMessage is registered with your cellular telephone number when you turn it on with your iPhone. If you want to deregister your phone number:

Don't want to block the person, just have all his texts going directly to my email so that I can maintain a continuous record of his text contacts (rather than remain in text form).
It appears that I must select an option that makes ALL texts go to email, which I'd prefer not doing.

I've heard claims it can be done, claims some have done it, and claims that it didn't work for them. This thread is interesting, some indications it should be possible, complaints that it didn't, and also an interesting work-around:

Though if you're requesting hardware changes for iPhone v2 you may want to wait a week (or a month?)...they're probably going to be inundated right now by requests for software changes to the current iPhone.

I can't believe Apple designed the iPhone so you can only text one person at a time. Major blunder on their part. I really hope they correct this with a software update very soon........

Why do you think that the issue is with you?
