Online Database for Students?

I am attempting to take a class on Oracle. Problem is my computer is down at home. Is there an online location that has an Oracle Database that I could use to create my own little database. It will be nothing much just a few small tables for queries etc. If anyone knows of such a site plear let me know. thanks

What can I do to change it to the Adobe Creative Cloud for ETLA that I need for my college courses.

I do not understand your issue, ETLA is just a educational form of CC, you have redeemed CC using redemption code on Jan 20, 2015, it valid for an year.
Are you talking about how to use it offline as desktop app, then you can use the CC without internet for up-to 90 days, you need to log in once in 90 days to keep the CC active.

Access vs. SQL Server for online database

I have a client who insisted on using Access for his online
database because he wanted to be able to download it quickly and
easily to be able to manipulate data on his end. However, after
importing about 20 thousand records into his existing database,
he's not happy with the speed at which it's now processing searches
- the search criteria and underlying queries are very complicated
to begin with. We had the SQL Server discussion previously, but he
wanted to keep it in Access. So, my question is...how much faster
can SQL Server process data over Microsoft Access? Will the results
be significant enough to justify converting the database to SQL
Server? Would his data process faster if he was on a dedicated
server instead of a shared server? Thanks!

If you can get away with using 3 digit zip code areas for
some of your partners, that might cut down on the total number of
records in your database. Also, in addition to indexing, indexing,
indexing, be aware that the "distinct" keyword is a pretty big
resource hog as well. Might be best to stay away from that one.
Not sure if I remember if Access supports stored procedures
or not, but any queries that you can precompile on the database
side will speed things up a bit.
Of course, you could just explain to him that downloading a
20,000 record access file, waiting for it to finish, editing it,
uploading it back to the server, and waiting for it to finish is
not exactly a very effective work flow. You could switch everything
over to MS SQL and then just give him a bound data grid into the
data in CF if he really wants to manipulate the records like that.
But then again, I know how these things go. My
condolences.

My preferences allow pop-ups and yet when I try to generate a letterfrom an online database I'm using for work, FifreFox "prevents po-ups from this site" Why?

I need to access an online database to generate letters for an assigned project. I click on the appropriate link to generate letters, the file is conveyed to my downloads, and I open it using Adobe to create a pdf. This worked fine for the first 5 letters. When I tried to generate the 6th, a yellow banner appeared informing me that "FireFox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window" which prevented me from getting the letter into downloads to open in Adobe. Even though I don't have the pop-up blocker on, I clicked on preferences and found the site in question already listed as allowed. Why is this happening? How can I continue my work?

"open project was cancelled or the application was unable to load database for..."

I'm doing a project for my Professional Writing course and I
have to use RoboHelp to create an online help document. The
professor provided templates for us to use but when I go to open
the project file I get the following error: "open project was
cancelled or the application was unable to load database
for....(then the directory)"
I know the project file isn't corrupted because the members
of my class are using the same one without issue. I tried
re-downloading the file, I also re-installed the program itself,
still with no luck. I'm using a Trial Version of RoboHelp 6.0 .
The only other suggestions I have seen are that I don't have
edit perms for the system, but it's my personal laptop and I have
full admin privs. I thought at first that the folder was read-only,
but when I opened it up all it displays is the little green box in
the checkbox (which doesn't mean the folder is read-only, it's just
some stupid windows default, it's only read-only if the box is
actually checked). I tried making the entire directory read-only
and then turn it off but still get the same error.
Any suggestions?

There's a topic on my site about Opening Projects that
includes the method of deleting the CPD and XPJ files but I didn't
cover that as the project is good for everyone else. Anything is
worth a try at the moment though.
Another thing to try is to rename the course folder, then
create a new folder with the same name plus all sub folders. Then
move the files across. That will ensure the folder properties are
good and not read only. Yes I know what you said but again anything
is worth a try.
Also, in the last post you are saying the directory is not
read-only. I assume the files are all good?
Ref my previous post, is it the case that now you are getting
an error before the original error would have popped up?

Can i get a new serial number for Adobe CS6 Design Standard for Students and Teachers?

I have had to re-install my Adobe CS6 Design Standard for students and teachers after having problems with my computer (MacBook Pro)
I am wondering if there is a way to access my old serial number from when I originally installed CS6, or do I have to start over again and get a new serial number?

You normally use the same serial number that you are first issued. If you registered your product when you first installed it then you should be able to find your setial number available thru your Adobe account online.

Bug Database for Sun ONE Studio 8

Is there an online bug database for the Sun ONE Studio 8 Compiler Collection, like there is for all of the Java related tools? I know we have product support, but I don't want to go through the overhead of 4 or 5 layers of people to report a minor problem I have found.
The minor problem is that the er_src utility will open files in the current working directory in preference to an absolute pathname specified on the command line. I used it from my home directory, giving it an executable name and source file name each about 5 levels deep in directories below my home -- with absolute paths. I was shocked to see the source from a six year old version of the file in the output. The 'truss' utility revealed that the source was being opened from my current directory -- ignoring the absolute path. This version of the file is one I have kept for reference, being the initial port of the program from a different language.
It appears that er_src attempts the unqualified file name first, then the absolute path if it fails to find the unqualified name.

The er_src man page does say the .er.rc files are processed, which implies that the setpath/addpath handling is done, at least to me. So the behavior reported is what I would have expected, but the manpage could, and should be more explicit.
The er_print man page is more specific, and does say that the compiled-in path is used only if the file is not found searching the current path mappings, which do contain "."
Can you tell me exactly what you'd like us to do? We did it this way because users complained about using the compiled in path, rather than finding the file in . or the experiments, where we explicitly tell people to copy files for archival purposes.
If you want us to change the behavior, please tell us EXACTLY what the desired behavior is. We could define a special symbol, like $EXPTS, to refer to the compiled-in path, $COMPPATH, perhaps, and then it could be put before or after . or $EXPTS.
Another issue is which name to use when. er_src has two referents for a path, one for "object", the thing whose source is being dumped, and a second for "item", specifying which item contained in the object should be dumped. For item, I believe we always only use the
base name, even if an absolute name is given. It is used to match against the names contained in object's symbol tables. All of this is complicated by NFS -- the present functionality is intended to behave gracefully when a file is examined on a machine other than the one on which
it was compiled.

Try changing the user agent string to be one of the browsers they recommend (search for 'debug menu' on this forum if you're not sure how to activate it). If it works, then they are using some numbskull validation checks. If it doesn't work, they probably doing something non-standard.
Jusging by the validation check it looks pretty badly done.
They created this browser. I remember when you could send reports to Apple for incompatabile web sites. I think they still need that now.
You still can. They just removed the debug button from the default toolbar selection. Safari menu -> Report bugs to Apple...
It takes two to tango in this game really. Websites need to do their part to write standards compliant pages, and Safari needs to be more tolerant of said non-standard pages.

User, please tell us your Jdev version!
There is no such functionality build into the framework. The offline data base is only for designing the db, not to have a backup db.
If you can't connect to the db the application will not work.

BI OnDemand with SAP B1 Online Database

Can BI OnDemand [(bi.ondemand.com) |bi.ondemand.com] work on SAP B1 Online Database (OLTP Database) and even on multiple database? if yes then how?

"Datasets" are something different than the Advanced version of BIOD. There are 3 editions of BIOD, and I'll try to clarify each...
BIOD Personal Edition. This is limited to 3 users. You can upload RPT (manually or with Desktop Publisher) or saved-data Webi. You can also upload and explore spreadsheet data (file-based dataset).
BIOD Essential Edition. This is limited to however many users a customer wishes to license. It also has the ability to create a centrally-administered organization with groups of users given permissions to specific folders of data. It can do everything the Personal Edition can do, plus you can create a dataset from SalesForce.com queries (SFDC-based datasets).
BIOD Advanced Edition. This can do everything the Essential Edition can do. Plus, it has a development environment for creating cloud-based data warehouse, ETL jobs, and a Universe. Additionally, you can create datasets based on a Universe. But the only reason you need to do that is if the user wants to use Explorer in addition to RPT and Webi. Today, we cannot Explore data directly from the Universe/Warehouse. That is a limitation we intend to fix this year.
If a customer has SFDC data AND is an Advance Edition cusotmer, they can take advantage of the Accelerator, which basically automates the creation of the warehouse, ETL job, and Universe for SFDC data. We do have an "evaulation" of the accelerator that people can try for free on a limited-time basis. However, if they want to use it permanently, they need to buy Advanced Edition of BIOD.
