Only loads tab's content when i select it ?

is there a way to make safari only load tab's content only when we select it as the active tab ? i think it is kind of bandwidth wise solution when we configured safari to reopen last active session when reoping safari, especially with lots of tabs open.
..similar to firefox's feature i guess..

As it turns out I have the same question, but I don't read book on my iPhone 6 plus. I ended up deleting all of the books listed that did not have the "download from the cloud" icon in the upper right hand corner. This retained the book for future downloading from iCloud and got rid of the numbers in red in the "Purchases" tab. Unfortunately I still have a red number 1 on my iPad. I do all of my reading from my iPad. I did try deleting some book I haven't read yet, but it didn't work on the iPad like the iPhone. What ever!

Only Load Tab Once Clicked When Opening Large Groups of Bookmarks

I have a bookmarks folder containing a few websites I like to visit regularly. When I want to open all of these websites at once I open the bookmark folder, scroll to the bottom of the folder and click "Open All in Tabs". This opens *and* loads all of the bookmarks contained in that folder simultaneously.
I'd like to change it so instead of the tabs opening *and* loading simultaneously, they open simultaneously but *wait* to be clicked before loading.
The desired behaviour can be demonstrated when you restart Firefox with a few tabs open, but only the current tab loads after restart, with the others waiting in the tab bar to be clicked before loading.
Any advice is appreciated.

I played around with the tab groups feature you mentioned, and although it's not exactly what I'm after I do have a few other uses in mind.

Tab focus behavior when searching selected text

In the previous versions of Firefox, when I selected some text on a webpage, right-clicked the text to get the context menu, and clicked the "Search" option (e.g. Search Google for "my text selection") the currently focused tab would stay focused and a new tab would be launched to handle the appropriate search in the background. Ever since I updated to Firefox 13, the new tab now receives focus when I do a search on selected text.
How can I switch back to the old behavior? This change in functionality is driving me crazy. When reading a webpage, I often like to select words and phrases about which I want to learn more and launch searches to Google and/or Wikipedia via the context menu. I almost always like to finish reading the current page before going off to read the new tabs. Even if I did intend to stop reading the current page and go to the new tab, it often takes many seconds for the new tab to load and I would rather keep reading the current page and switch to the new tab manually than stare at a blank tab while I wait for it to load.
In the "Tabs" tab of the options window, there is a checkbox for "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately." Is there anything like this for new tabs launched by a context menu search?

hey bob, you can enter '''about:config''' into the location bar of firefox, confirm the info notification (in case it shows up), search for the preference named '''browser.search.context.loadInBackground''' & toggle it to true by double-clicking it. that should bring back the old behaviour...

I get two tabs with my identical home page every time I open Firefox. How do I "unpin" one of them so that only one tab is populated when I open Firefox?

When I installed Firefox I inadvertently responded "yes" when asked if I wanted to "pin" my home page to the browser. l also designated that page (my Juno page) as my home page. So now whenever I open Firefox, two tabs appear with my identical home page. How do I fix it so that only one tab appears when I open Firefox?

Its not my home page, Like I said, I hae my home page also come up in a different tab (google) I also get the welcome to FF4 on a seperate tab. My home page is set to google. But I dont want the welcome screen to pop up

Windows 7 only loading partial iCloud contents

My computer, running Windows 7, will only show 32/522 photos from my photo stream. How can I get every photo to load to my computer? I have tried logging out through the control panel, then restarting and logging back in and it still shows the same 32 pictures and will not load more.

Go to my computer and look for the DVD drive letter and verify that you can see the disk there. Then right click on the DVD drive, choose explore, then you want to look for the .exe file (you may have to open a folder? can't remember). when you find the .exe file you want to right click on it and choose run as administrator. Ensure you are hooked up to the internet and also turn off any anti-virus software.
Make sure, after the install, that before you run the software itself, to right click on the CS2 .exe and run that as administrator. Also don't forget to update the software and ensure you video card drivers are up to date too.

IWeb publishing all content, when I select Publish to mm

Before I got a paid subscription to mobile me, I had no problems publishing only the pages that had changes, but now all pages publish (even the ones I'm still working on). Does this happen to anyone else and what can be done about it?

Apple mail doesn't show mail content when selected?

I have done nothing new or strange with this application but since a few days ago I couldn't see mail content when I selected the emails.
I can see the new emails It doesn't show their content when I select them. It simply says no message selected.
Also when I double click to open the mail on a new page the application crashes. Any ideas? This is so frustrating!
Btw, I'm using a Macbook Pro.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
          Envelope Index
          ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Typically, the process takes a few minutes, but it may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In that case, you may be able to speed things up by temporarily adding your home folder to the Privacy list in the Spotlight preference pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Disk Utility: First Aid: "Repair Disk" grayed out when i select the HD

I'm getting the flashing question mark folder icon at startup and my Mac never does start. I'm trying to run through the repair suggestions on this forum and on the support pages but I can't do much of anything with the disk utility. (I've done the reset PRAM step and I've tried reselecting a startup volume both with the startup manager --HD wasn't shown as an option-- and by holding down "X" on startup... neither helped.)
Under first aid, verify disk permissions, i get the "no valid packages" error message. But "Verify Disk Permissions" is the only button available to me when I select my internal hard disk. The support pages say to "Repair Disk" but I can't select that option.
I've tried to reinstall the OSX from the CD, but when the installer asks me to select a destination volume, nothing is available to select.
I am running version 10.4.something at least. My CD is the one that came with the computer a couple of years ago. I have one of the early Intel Macbooks.
I have an appointment at the Genius Bar after work tonight but I'd love it if I could fix this baby sooner.
Am I hosed?

OK- Try a Single User boot- hold command +s while starting, and try and repair with fsck.
-Startup in Single User mode.
-At the command-line prompt, type */sbin/fsck -fy*. Press Return.
fsck will go through five "phases" and then return information about your disk's use and fragmentation. Once it finishes, it'll display this message if no issue is found:
*The volume (nameofvolume) appears to be OK*
-If fsck found issues and has altered, repaired, or fixed anything, it will display this message:
*FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED*
Important: If this message appears, repeat the fsck command again, until fsck tells you that your volume appears to be OK (first-pass repairs may uncover additional issues, so this is a normal thing to do).
-When fsck reports that your volume is OK, type *reboot* at the prompt and then press Return.
-Your computer should start up normally and allow you to log in.

Spry - load tab content only when clicked / selected

I'm considering spry to create a multi-tab page layout.. tabs
such as 'account', 'balance', 'bin', 'history', etc.
Each tab's content is dynamic and based on moderately
demanding DB calls. Is there a way to set Spry such that
- only the default selected tab's content (on page load) is
'filled', while the content of other tabs is generated only upon
user's click?
- once a tab's content is loaded, not regenerate its dynamic
content? I think I have an idea how to do this, but doesn't hurt to
ask.

as default so if the page refreshes it reloads the current tab not
the first tab? If so this is exactly what i'm after! I'm not hot on
javascript so could you possibly expand a little on how i would
implement this in a php page??

"Don't load tabs until selected" ... Where is the setting so that it affects the tabs when I click "Open all in tabs" from History?

I am trying to reload all the tabs from history, it's a couple thousand. I am not concerned about system RAM I have 16GB. I know it will be slow, I'm not looking for any warnings or questions about why I have to reload that many tabs or how to work with the restore.bak sessionstore files.
The question I need an answer to is, "What setting do I need to change so that when I reload multiple tabs, it doesn't say "connecting" on all of them even though I have already selected "Don't load tabs until selected"

It would be good if this was made a user-defined Option (Tools -> Options -> Tabs) in the next update of Firefox rather than having to install an add-on. I currently keep Firefox open to view my Accuweather.com add-on running or because I know that I will be returning to Firefox in short order. (I do close Firefox if I have visited a sensitive or secure site to ensure better security.) Every time I want to go to a bookmark, I must open a new "(Untitled)" tab before selecting my bookmark using the keyboard (I'm a dedicated keystroker; it's much faster for me). This way, when I close the website, I have an "(Untitled)" tab displaying so that Firefox doesn't close. Why can't I set an Option parameter that will result in me not having to go through this? Alternatively, allow users to set an option to keep Firefox loaded and open in the event only one tab is open and maybe if only one Firefox application window is running (I avoid having more than one Firefox window open as much as possible). I've addressed this last issue in the past but have seen no change when one closes the last tab in a Firefox window. As general practice, I would think that Firefox would run better if options, like I have described above, were part of the Firefox application code and not given to needing an add-on which may cause instability in Firefox as they have in the past, even with author verification and certification.

Don't load tabs until selected and then load with refresh (or skip cache) [Firefox 19]

I use Firefox 19 with the option "Don't load tabs until selected" (in Options/Tabs). It's a neat option but when the tab reloads, it doesn't refresh the page but just reloads it at the state when the browser last closed.
With Firefox 3.6, the addon Bar Tab provides the same option (because it was not an in-built option in FF yet) but reloads the page with a refresh so it is up-to-date.
How can I achieve this in Firefox 19, reloading with a true refresh or by automatically skipping the cache?

I went to the Summary page of iTunes and checked "Sync only checked songs and videos". Synced again, and no songs were playable. Unchecked my only playlist and synced again. All the songs were gone as expected. Checked my playlist again, and all the songs were there. Looked at them under the music tab, but they were all grayed out. Tried to play any of them, but could not. Tried to sync again and received the message, "The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start."
Every time I connect my iPhone 4 to iTunes, it says "iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone ____. Would you like to restore this iPhone again now?" I click "Continue Restore" (I'm tempted to click "delete backup.) It then says, "An error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-54). I click OK. I'm redirected to the "Set up your iPhone screen". It's already selected to "Restore from backup of ___'s iPhone". Click continue. It restores for about 2 minutes. iTunes says my settings have been restored and wait for it to restart. And again the message that "iTunes was interrupted..." (see above). Crap.
How do i get this back to where it belongs?
