Only on my administrator account firefox will tell me it is already running and to close it or restart my computer. guest account works fine. nothing is running on main account though. after restarting i get the same response.

when i click on the icon to open mozilla, it shows me this:Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.
But I do not have anything running?Won't work after restarting, opens just fine on my guest account though?

Do you still have a [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] in that account?

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

  • When I try to download, I get a message that says that my computer must be rebooted to finish uninstalling a previous version. After rebooting, I get the same message. What do I do?

When I try to download, I get a message that says that my computer must be rebooted to finish uninstalling a previous version of Firefox. After rebooting and going through the process again, the Install Wizard gives me the same message. I get the same message every time. What do I do?

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 8.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I have had a time capsule for years and it worked well.  Now my airport utility states it is unable to find any airport wireless devices.  When I rescan, I get the same response.  I access the internet wirelessly through my Time Capsule - that part works.

My time capsule is currently not backing up my MAC.  My airport utility states it can't find any airport wireless devices.  But I can access the internet via my time capsule.  I was trying to reset my time capsule but it won't let me since the airport utiity states it can't find any airport wireless devices.

i was having the same problem. i held the reset button on my airport express for ten seconds, waited for it to restart and than unplugged my internet modem for 15 seconds and waited for it to restart and my wireless worked. but when i go to setup everything through the airport utility everything goes to crap and i have to start over again. i don't get it.

  • Firefox will no longer start. Already updated, and now it will not start. Uninstalled, reinstalled (numerous times). Click the icon and nothing. Hour glass comes up for a second and then it is gone. Running XP ver 5.1 (service pack 3)

Firefox will no longer run on my computer. It's been working fine up until a few days ago. Installed the updates and now nothing. Uninstalled, reinstalled (numerous times). Click the icon and nothing. Hour glass comes up for a second and then it is gone. Running XP ver 5.1 (service pack 3) edit. I'm no techie so I have no clue what is causing this or what to do. I love firefox and miss it greatly. Anyone know what I can do to get it back?

  • Firefox will not remember my hotmail user id and doesn't offer a box to do so it works in IE

Very frustrating. FF started acting up a couple of days ago. It began by showing my user id in hotmail. The next time I checked mail, (I had not shut down the computer) it was blank. I filled it in and then my password. When I shut off the computer and tried the next day. It asked if I wanted to remember my log in name. I said, Yes. After that, FF never remembered my user name and never provided a box to do so. I had not changed anything in FF since downloading 5.o several weeks ago.
It works fine in IE. I cannot find any answer anywhere that offers a fix. I even uninstalled 5.o and reinstalled. It still doesn't work.

I don't know if I can help but I have firefox and IE 8 and hotmail doesn't remember my username on either browser or computer. Seems to have occured about 2 weeks ago. I tried allowing cookies, changing security settings, etc. with no luck. my oS is XP and on laptop is windows 7.
i just wanted to let you know I am having problems with this also. I will bookmark this page and add to it if I have any luck. Please let me know if you find a solution.

  • HT2731 The appleID on my phone is not the same as on my itunes account. How can I get the same on both my iphone and itunes?

How can I match my apple ID for itunes and my apple ID on my cellphone?

Do you have multiple accounts or have you updated your account on your computer's iTunes and the update hasn't copied over to your iPhone ? If you've updated your account then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your phone and log out of it and then log back in with the updated version.
If you have multiple accounts then you can log out of your account on your phone as above, or your computer's iTunes via the Store > Sign Out menu option, and you can then log in with the other account. But all content is tied to the account that downloaded it.

  • My wife and I each have an Ipad and only one mail account. Both of us receive the same e-mails but when one of us deleates an e-mail it also deleates on the other Ipad. How can I stop this? I might delete an e-mail she wants to read. Thanks

My wife and I each have an Ipad and use only one mail account. Both Ipads therefore get the same mail and when either one of us deleates an email it also deleates on the other Ipad and this can be a problem if one of us doesn't want that e-mail deleted. Obviously our Ipads are synced and I don't know how to correct this. Any advice ?

If you both have the same email account, there's no setting on iPad you can use.  When a message is deleted, it's deleted from the mail account server, which will happen on both devices.

  • After closing out, FF will not restart, says it is already running forcing me to reboot. I have removed and re-installed FF and still get the same message when trying to open the internet using FF. How can this be fixed?

When I close out Firefox, and return later to use the internet, I click on Firefox and it gives me a message stating that Firefox is already running and needs to be closed before restarting or reboot my system. This occurs every time Firefox is closed and attempt to re-start it,,, not only at times,,,, EVERY time.
I have tried removing Firefox from my system and re-installing to fix this issue however,,, this did not work. After re-installing, I still get the same message when attempting to restart Firefox.
I have also tried Ctrl, Alt, delete to open the task manager and find there is no task to close.
I do not have any problems when using IE, I prefer to use Firefox as it is faster and crashes less than IE.
I am very frustrated at having to reboot my system each time I want to use the internet.
How can this problem be repaired?

There are various causes for this error, see [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]] for details.

  • Have downloaded Mountain Lion on my 2010 Mac Mini. Now when starting up, after a while I get a message that says, "You must restart your computer." I do that but get the same message again and again. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am having issues trying to start up with Mountain Lion on my 2010 Mac Mini. Here's the scenario:
    1) After starting up, I get the usual gray screen with Apple logo.
    2) After a few minutes, a darker gray screen scrolls down and in the middle of this is a black dialogue box with reversed (white) text. This text, in multiple languages, reads: "You need to restart your computer." Then it goes on to instruct on how to shut it down and restart it.
    3) I follow this instruction, but get the same dialogue box over and over agin.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks and best wishes.

If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
During startup, you’ll see a progress bar, and then the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all. Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is on a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. If you're able to boot, launch the Console application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid. Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post shutdownStall, spin, or hang reports.

You must be using an old version of Acrobat as Organizer hasn't been in the last two versions of Acrobat.  Here is the KB that covers that old error:  Error "The Organizer Database is damaged and will be reset..." | Acrobat 9
