Only take local currency when loading

I am trying to load a transaction data from ECC, which include both USD and LC for each account,, the file is like following:
account,   entity, time, rptcurrency, category,Datasrc,Intco,amount
100001, sale1, 2008,feb,LC,actual,input,19250
100001, sale1, 2008,feb,USD,actual,input,19250
100002, sale1, 2008,feb,LC,actual,input,19250
100002, sale1, 2008,feb,USD,actual,input,19250
100003, sale1, 2008,feb,LC,actual,input,19250
100003, sale1, 2008,feb,USD,actual,input,19250
When I run the package, the system accept only LC record, reject trhe USD record with error message"it is calculated member:USD".
Is BPC only allow to load local currency?

Hi JW-
I rechecked the BPC70, NW SP03 functionality and ran a quick load test myself....I had no problem in loading records with LC or USD in an appset that was a copy of Apshell.
I do note that the data set you replicated in your initial message shows the time dimension with an incorrect format (there is a comma between the YYYY and MMM instead of a period).  I am assuming this is just a typo, if not please correct and rerun Data Manager Package.
There are two probable reasons for the error message received:
1. You have a dimension member formula on USD, or
2. You have a hierarchy associated with USD as a parent
Any of these present in your design?

  • OBY6 no forex clearing in local currency when LC2 used also

    Hi folks,
I know this is a long shot that anyone can help but here goes..
Our site has local currency BOB and an additional local currency (local currency 2) USD.
So we usually get 2 local currency amounts in documents, a BOB amount and a USD amount.
When clearing in local currency BOB we are getting a lot of exchange rate difference postings for documents that are in foreign currency. We want to stop the exchange rate difference postings when we clear in local currency BOB, as it is not necessary to post a difference for clearing.
The setting in OBY6 for this is tick box "no forex rate diff. when clearing LC"
However even when this is ticked in OBY6 I STILL get the gain/loss exchange rate postings when for example a EUR document is cleared using the local currency amount in BOB. I am sure I have seen this setting work before, but not with an additional LC2. Maybe the LC2 being USD means that this setting can no longer work? We are on 4.7.
    Thanks all

Got an answer from SAP on this issue
    Please be informed that
OBY6 "no forex rate diff. when clearing in LC": please regard the
documenatition. The flag is only relevant for the local currency (= 1st
local currency). In your case the 2nd local currency is concerned. That
is the reason exchange rate difference items were generated for hard
    currency.
So if you use a second currency forget using the OBY6 setting, you have to 'disregard the documentation'. You can never stop the exchange rate difference posting because either LC or LC2 will find a difference if the rate differs on clearing.

  • How to only update existing records when loading master data ?

Hello experts, I need your lights one more time.
    Here is my need :
I have created an infoobject (IO) which is a very simple version of 0material, let's call it Znewmat --> Znewmat has material type and trademark as attributes, those two fields are available in 2 different datasources :
    - 0MATERIAL_ATTR for material type (field MTART)
    - 0MAT_SALES_ATTR for trademark (field MVGR2)
When loading my new IO from 0MATERIAL_ATTR I use a filter (at DTP level) to get only a few material types (I get something like 1000 records),
here is my issue : when I load from 0MAT_SALES_ATTR the field "material type" is not available to keep the same filter as for 0MATERIAL_ATTR and existing records are updated with the trademark, but I also get 5000 records I don't need, and my master data is "polluated" with useless lines.
*and my question : is there a way while performing the second loading to ONLY UPDATE EXISTING RECORDS AND NOT ADD ANY
NEW RECORDS ? (i didn't find anything in main options of my DTP)*
(I'd like to avoid the solution to update the 0MAT_SALES_ATTR datasource to add the missing field)
Thanks in advance for any help, points will be distributed.
    Guillaume P.
    Still no idea ?

in the start routine of transformation from 0MAT_SALES_ATTR to znewmat do the following:
select materials from /BIC/PZNEWMAT into i_mat
for all entries in source_package where material eq source_package-material.
    loop at source_package.
    p_ind = sy-tabix.
read table i_mat with key material = source_package-material.
    if sy-subrc ne 0.
    delete i_mat index p_ind.
    endif.
this way you'll only update records that have previously been loaded by 0MATERIAL_ATTR DS
    loading sequence:
first load ZNEWMAT from 0MATERIAL_ATTR. then activate ZNEWMAT. then load 0MAT_SALES_ATTR to ZNEWMAT.

  • Open item mgt and only balances in local currency

    Hi ,
What is open item management and only banlances in local currency ?
for which gl accounts v select open item management and only balances in local currency
    Pls explain urgent
    Regards
    umesh

    1. Only Balances in Local Currency:
Indicates that balances are updated only in local currency when users post items to this account.
Use: You would set this indicator for accounts in which you do not want the system to update transaction figures separately by currency.
It is required to set theis indicator in:
    1.  cash discount clearing accounts
    2. GR/IR clearing accounts.
It cannot be set in reconciliation accounts for customers or vendors. Setting it in all other instances is optional.
    Open item management:
Determines that open items are managed for this account.
Explanation: Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
Procedure: Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
    USE:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
    Clearing accounts:
    Bank clearing account
    Payroll clearing account
    Cash discount clearing account
    GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:
    Bank accounts
    Tax accounts
    Raw material accounts
    Reconciliation accounts
Hope this is helpful. Pleas assign points if it is.

  • Balances in Local Currency

What is the purpose and standard usage of this field in the GL Account Master?

    HI,
Indicator: Only Manage Balances in Local Currency
Indicates that balances are updated only in local currency when users post items to this account.
    Use
You would set this indicator for accounts in which you do not want the system to update transaction figures separately by currency.
Setting this indicator for accounts managed on an open item basis affects the clearing procedures. See the example below.
    Procedure
Set the indicator in cash discount clearing accounts and GR/IR clearing accounts. It cannot be set in reconciliation accounts for customers or vendors. Setting it in all other instances is optional.
It is usually set for particular balance sheet accounts including:
Accounts which are not managed on an open item basis and not kept in foreign currencies.
Accounts which are managed on an open item basis and have the same types of items posted in different currencies, but always allow clearing to be made if the local currency amounts correspond.
    Examples
You set up a clearing account for goods receipts and invoice receipts and manually post these items to it. You post invoice receipts in the invoice currency and goods receipts always in the local currency.
Invoice receipt            1000 DEM       600 USD
    Goods receipt                              600 USD
Both items can be cleared if the clearing account balances are recorded in local currency only. If you have not set the indicator for this account, the system will translate DEM to USD during the clearing procedure in order to determine the amount in USD required to clear 1000 DEM. If the translation rate is .65 USD per DEM, then the system displays 650 USD for the invoice receipt and 600 USD for the goods receipt when the open items are processed.
This means that to clear both of these items, you will also have to enter a difference posting for 50 USD, and the system will automatically make an additional exchange rate difference posting for this amount.

  • Only balance in local currency

    Hi
our base currency is UDS. One of the GL ( bank account in Germany ) is set up as document currency ( euro ) and " only in local currency " check box  is unchecked ( FS00 , control tab ). Now  when I try to load the plan data into system, all the values goes well except this GL. I used manual entry to load the value (Gp12 ) into this GL (plan ).It did not work.
Now I tried to change the check box ( FS00 ) but it does not allow as there is balance into that. First I am not clear why this one account was set up like that. Can anybody suggest me how to fix this "only local currency" issue.
    Thanks
    Satya

    Hi Satya,
Since you have created the g/l account with account currency EUR and which is different from your company code currency (USD) it will only accept the postings in EUR. If an account is set up in company code currency then it will accept postings in all currencies. Usually bank accounts are maintained in currencies other than company code currency and in this case I am not sure why you have created a P&L account in currency other than Company code currency.
The indicator "Only balances in local currency" controls the display of balances via FS10N transaction and if you have unchecked that indicator then system should supposedly display the balances by transaction currency but in your case since, your account currency is EUR and the g/l account can only accept postings in EUR it doesnt really matter because it will only display balances in EUR since all the postings going to the above account will be only EUR.
As far as ur problem is concerned; looks like u r loading numbers in currency other than EUR and that is why it is bombing out. You have to zero out the balance in the account first and then have to change the account currency to USD if you want to plan in diff currencies on that account.
    Plz assign points if useful
    Thanks

  • GL account char - XSALH "Indicator:Only Manage Balances in Local Currency"

    Hello experts,
Regarding transaction FS00 or FSS0, i would like someone to give me a clear view of the utility of value field XSALH "Indicator: Only Manage Balances in Local Currency".
When creating a GL account, from a technical perpestice, in which case i should activate this flag and in which case i should not activate it ?
What are the different impact for the user, except the fact that balances are updated only in local currency ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolas GORECKI

    Hi
If the indicator Only Balances in Local Currency is selected in the master record, transactions figures are only managed for amounts translated into local currency.
You should select this field for clearing accounts where you want to clear accounts by assigning items with the same local currency amount with one another, without necessitating exdchange rate difference postings.
The indicator must be set in cash discount and GR/IR clearing accounts. This should not be activated for Reconciliation accounts for customer and vendors.
This indicator is usually set in balance sheet accounts that are not managed in foreign currencies.
IF this indicator is not set, to clear the open items, both the local and foreign currency amounts of the items to be clared must match. In such a case, it may be required to post an exchange rate difference postings.

  • Enabling "Only balance in local currency" for GL's

    Guru's
Can any one help me on this.
We wanted to enable bhe "Only balance in local currecy" for certain GL's. The GL's already has some balance.
We have an option to make the balance zero by using a clearing account and trasfer it back once it is enables. But our problem is.
    a. We are not sure whether these changes will have retrospective effect - that mean will it effect all the entry booked when it was not enabled.
    Please advise
    Deepak

    Deepak,
a)first you can make the balaces 0 of the g/l accounts to which accounts u want uable the field only balances in local currency.
b)goto OBD4 and select account groups of that g/l accounts and suppress that only balance local currency field.
    Reward points.

  • Posting in Local Currency Only

    Scenario:
    - Foreign Currency Asset acquisitions
    - Goods Receipt Posted in Period 1
    - Exchange Rate fluctuates at month end
    - Invoice Verification processed in Period 2
    - Exchange Variance (USD 5.00) is posted to the Asset A/c.
The variance is only in Local currency and not in Document currency.
Accounting Rules dictate posting exchange difference to Realized Gain/Loss A/c.
Is there a way to rectify this error, by posting a document where,
Amount in Document Curr = 0
Amount in Local Curr = USD 5.00
There is already a fix in place for preventing this in future. Looking only for a fix for the existing entries only.
    Thanks

Create one FI documents with multiple line items as per the following example. In this case you need to enter amount in both local currency and in document currency fields-
If you want to post credit of USD 5.00
Line 1: Local currency  Dr. USD 5; Doc currency =x
Line 2: Local currency  Cr. USD 10; Doc currency =x
Net impact in local currency is Cr USD 5 and doc currency is nil.

  • Doc. currency vs local currency diff in parked document

    Hi Team,
i was parked a document with document currency USD, but the local currency is CAD.
when i opened the parked document, document in USD currency showing debit and credits are matching woth zero balance, but when i clicked on local currency the document is showing 0.03 difference.
    any suggestions(i used 4.5 version)
    thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi, Ravi:
In F-63, there is a checkbox "Only transfer amnts in document curr. invoice", it is used as followings:
If we sets this indicator it translates the doc. currency into local currency at the time of parked document.
If we not set this indicator it translates the doc. currency into local currency when posting of document.
Eg: We are parking a document with doc. currency in USD @40
the next day we are posted that document then it is @42-
the system takes the exchange rate from the header which was specified in the parked document @40- only.
If we not set this indicator it will take at the time of posting of document @42-
    Hope it will help.
    Best Regards, Lawrence

  • Forms Takes TOOOOOO Long to Load

    Hi all,
I am having a form containing a tabbed canvas consisting of 7 tab pages. There are approximately 8 blocks containing nearly 300 items in total(mainly display items and buttons and no image items) and nearly 10 form level program units and 2 libraries attached.
In this scenario my forms takes 5 seconds to load and open up.I am running on a Windows 2000 machine(PIII,256 Mb Ram, 20 GB hard disk)in client server mode.
So how do I tune/Tweak my form to make it load quickly....
One more aspect I am wondering is that is there any way to track the DML statements forms issues implicitly whenever a commit operation happens. Is there any system variable similar to :system.last_query for this??.....
    Any help/Suggestions are appreciated.....

Try to make VISBLE ON only those required.
Make Visible Property OFF for all the canvases initially and then Make VISIBLE ON on When-New-Form-Instance Trigger for required Canvases. Rest will be VISIBLE ON when they are accessed.
Do not Make items or canvases ON and OFF frequenty.
Use the concept of "message diff-ing"
hnOn the Form!&s initial display, hiding elements not immediately required. Use the item properties:
hnRAISE ON ENTRY = YES (Canvas only)
    hnVISIBLE = NO
Forms when loading the Initial Form gets the Message Packets for Each item and each Canvas. For Example if you have 2 Canvases and set the Visible = YES at Design Time for both the Canvases then the Forms will first Load the Canvas and then gets the properties of each Item in the Canvas which will increase the time for Loading the Initial Screen.
When you set the Visible = NO at Design time and Set the Visible property on the When New Form Instance trigger then forms Server will send the Packets of all the Items in one Bundle and the Painting will be done after the form gets Initialized. This will reduce lot of Traffic on the Network as we are getting the item information in One packet for all the items, which will improve the timing on loading the Initial Form.
Care should be taken in defining the RAISE ON ENTRY property. Raise on Entry should be set to yes only for the Stacked canvases but not for Content Canvases. If you set the Content canvas RAISE ON ENTRY = YES for content canvas which contains stacked canvases then the Raise on Entry will show the Content Canvas and the all the stacked canvases will be disappeared.
For Ex. If your form has some Items on the Content Canvas and you have a Tab canvas which has 3 Tabs, which is Stacked to the Content. Then when you navigate to any item in the Content Canvas you will not see the Tab Canvases as the Raise on Entry on the Content Canvas will only raise the Content Canvas but not the Stacked Canvases.
Pay attention to TAB canvases that consist of several sheets where only one will ever be displayed.
For responsive switching between tabs, all items for all sheets on the canvas are loaded, including
those that are hidden behind the initial tab. Consequently, the time taken to load and initialize a TAB canvas is related to all objects on the canvas and not just to those initially visible. So the best approach is to put the other Tab canvases on a different Canvas(if possible) and the Canvas visible property to No and Raise on Entry to Yes which will pop up when the user navigates to that canvas.

  • Local currency-Co.code currency

    Hi experts
I have created GL a/c making posts only in local currency, and have done some postings to it.
now i want to make this GL a/c to post otherthan local currency.
I tried it De-selecting only balance in local currency but its giving error saying that this A/C got balances.
    please any one help.
    thanks in advance
    Hari

    Hi,
SAP always suggest to create a new G/L account if you want to change some critical setting in G/L master which prompts error when change.
But if you want to use back the original G/L account, you may do the following.
    1) reverse all the postings in the G/L account, or transfer the balance to a temporary account,
    2) change the message from error into warning,
    3) change the G/L master to uncheck post local currency only.
    4) Repost the journals or transfer the balance back to the G/L account.

    Hi!
When I have created a PO the information of the ordered amount is stored in EKPO. But if the PO is in a foreign currency I will only see the ordered amount in that currency in EKPO. I would like to see the ordered amount in local currency so that I can use in a report together with POs in local currencies.
Which table stores the local currency when the PO contains a foreign currency?
    Sincerely
