Opatch Inventory showing 10.2.0.2

Hi All,
For one of my new client Oracle Instance is 10.2.0.4
SQL> select * from v$version;

Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi

TNS for IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Productio
NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
But surprisingly my opatch lsinventory is showing 10.2.0.2
opatch lsinventory

So patch for which version I needs to apply in this instance(whether 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.4)
Can someone please help me
Thanks in advance

Such out of synch binaries/database version means your database is probably coming from somewhere else. You could check the table DBA_REGISTRY_HISTORY to see all the previous upgrade done onto the db.
You should apply the patch on your Oracle Home binaries only up to the database level, be careful if other databases are managed out of this OH.

  • OPatch inventory doesn't show latest PSU

    We just finished applying the 11.2.0.2.7 PSU patch to one of our stand-alone Linux servers. Both GI and DB were already at 11.2.0.2.6. We applied it to both GI and DB together as a bundle and it was successfull. However whenever we do an opatch lsinventory from the GRID_HOME, we don't see 11.2.0.2.7 for GI. We see it for DB but not GI. Is that something to be concerned about? Any explanation to help understand this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    The OS is OEL 5.7.
    uname -aLinux uxdpsdbd1.alldata.net 2.6.32-200.13.1.el5uek #1 SMP Wed Jul 27 21:02:33 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    We downloaded patch 14192201 (p14192201_112020_Linux-x86-64.zip), which as you mentioned is GI 11.2.0.2.7. When we unzipped it, it created two directories ... 13923804 (DB 11.2.0.2.7) and 13696242 (GI 11.2.0.2.6). I thought that was odd because I was expecting a directory 14192201.
    Below is the OPatch log. You'll notice in the log that first 13696242 is applied to the DB home. Then it attempted to apply 13923804 to the DB home but failed because of some active processes. Next it attempted to apply 13696242 to the GI home but it was already at the level so nothing happened there. Lastly it applied 13923804 to the GI home. Now I'm wondering if the zip file for 14192201 ever came with GI 11.2.0.2.7? I'm getting more confused. Any help to clarify this would be greatly appreciated.
    PS - we ran opatch again so that 13923804 was applied to the DB home (it failed earlier because of some active processes)

    Anu

    Hello Anu,
    this information comes from the "Global Inventory".
    Metalinknote #360079.1 describes this:
    Global Inventory
    The Global Inventory is the part of the XML inventory that contains the high level list of all oracle products installed on a machine. There should therefore be only one per machine. Its location is defined by the content of oraInst.loc.
    The Global Inventory records the physical location of Oracle products installed on the machine, such as ORACLE_HOMES (RDBMS and IAS) or JRE. It does not have any information about the detail of patches applied to each ORACLE_HOMEs.
    The Global Inventory gets updated every time you install or de-install an ORACLE_HOME on the machine, be it through OUI Installer, Rapid Install, or Rapid Clone.
    Note: If you need to delete an ORACLE_HOME, you should always do it through the OUI de-installer in order to keep the Global Inventory synchronized.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Opatch inventory

    Hi
    I have applied the opatch on the oracle database.
    When I check the applied patch using command
    */oracle/ABP/102_64/OPatch/opatch lsinventory -invPtrLoc /etc/oraInst.loc*
    it does not shows the recent applied patches.
    Can anyone guide me where to check the recent applied patches.

    Is this your correct oracle inventory location ?
    Also set ORACLE_HOME before firing this command..
    If you are not getting correct patch information, then specify correct value in -invPtrLoc .
    Can you check in /etc/oraInst.loc that where is this file pointing..
    I also checked your other thread
    Opatch applying error
    So you seems to have issue with inventory location..
    If your inventory is lost then create it manually..

  • When running a query of a 0IC_C03 cube copy inventory shows as blank

    When loading the 0IC_C03 cube copy ZMM_C01 Cube: Material Stocks/Movements, if there
    is no movements for that day in a plant the inventory values do not show when we run a query on that key date
    When we create a movement type and run the extraction then the ending inventory values
    will show when we run a query usig that key date.
    So if there are no movements types for a plant  then the inventory balance does not show up in our query reports. Once we post a
    movement type for a plant and extract data then rerun our reports then the inventory balances show up.

    Lines like this:
    Failed to get IWbemService Ptr for \\localhost\root\Microsoft\appvirt\client
    simply means that for that particular client, that wmi namespace does not exist.  I suspect that namespace does not exist on that particular client because for the specific client, it does not have the APPv client.
    or like this: Failed to get IWbemService Ptr for \\localhost\root\vm\VirtualServer    means that for that particular client, it does not have Microsoft VirtualServer installed (which you MIGHT have on a server, maybe).
    anything like that can be easily ignored and explained.  the only reason to care about those would be if you absolutely 100% KNOW that the namespace root\vm\virtualserver does exist on that client, and it does have instances, and then you are wondering
    why it's not reporting.  then maybe you would be concerned.  Otherwise, your log file looks perfectly fine.
    So; what problem are you trying to solve?

    Patches applied:
    Oracle Patch: 5726045 - Successfully patched with zero return code.
    Oracle Patch: 641703 - Failed with Error Code 200.
    Scenario:
    I have to apply CPUJAN2008 patch on 55 different servers located at different places in different states. Previously some other DBA had written a Windows NT Script for applying patch CPUOCT2007 on these
    55 differnet servers which have the same instances, same filing system, same oracle version, same directories, same oracle_home, etc. In other words they are replicas to each other. For the purpose of
    patching, the script is the best option. The Script for CPUOCT2007 was never went through, hence I am trying to test this CPUOCT2007 script and if tested allright, I will make certain amendmends to make it
    ready for CPUJAN2008 patch.
    Problem:
    I tested the script for CPUOCT2007 patch and encountered the following problem:

    Why does the newest version of OPatch from (MAR 2012) does not fit for the PSU 13919095 and what version does I need ??
    Edited by: tbrinkmann on Sep 18, 2012 6:26 AM

    The error is misleading and I usually met this when i specified the patch location incorrectly.
    That patchset actually contains 2 patches, and you shouldnt reference the subfolder 13919095 directly, but the location where you unzipped.
    Lets say you unzipped the patch to /home/oracle/patch, then you should:
    opatch auto /home/oracle/patch -oh ...and not
    opatch auto /home/oracle/patch/13919095 -oh ...

  • Registry-based discovery does not show non key property value

    Hi,
    Discovered Inventory shows instances of my new class correctly, but the non key property ServerType appears but has no value. I have confirmed each instance does have the registry value populated. What can I do?
    I see the following Event 31876 on one of the clients:
    Data item returned no information for parameter '$Data/Values/ServerType$'
     This usually indicates that the query is incorrect.
    Detailed Background:
    My custom application is made of 8 different computer roles.
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Vendor\Appname exists = true indicates an instance of my app.
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Vendor\Appname\ServerType indicates the actual server role.
    I want an initial hosted class (VendorServer) based on Microsoft.Windows.Computer base class to contain all server roles.
    Then I will create 8 hosted classes (VendorServerRoleA, VendorServerRoleB, etc) for each server role based on the initial hosted class (VendorServer).
    My discovery for VendorServer class created instances, and I see ServerType as a property in Discovered Inventory, but it is blank for all instances.  Should I expect to see ServerType populated where I mapped it as follows:
    Name =
    $MPElement[Name="MPName.VendorServer"]/ServerType$
    Value =
    $Data/Values/ServerType$
    Does $MPElement need to reference the discovery object instead of the class object (which it currently does)?
    I started with a blank MP and then create the new VendorServer class based on Microsoft.Windows.ComputerRole and added the new Property, ServerType as a non key property.
    The discovery targets Microsoft.Windows.Computers.  Is it ok to have the discover target one class and the VendorServer class have a different base class?
    My build event was simply if HKLM\SOFTWARE\Vendor\Appname exists
    I am hesitant to proceed to create my VendorServerRoleA class based on HKLM\SOFTWARE\Vendor\Appname\ServerType=AAA until what I have built so far works completely, unless it is not expected to do so.
    A related question.  Once I have classes for each server role, can I target monitorA at multiple classes, or do I need to create a new monitor for each class?
    This authoring learning curve is so steep as I am sure many of you already know.  MUCH thanks for help...

  • AR reserve invoice vs. inventory status

    To Experts,
    Can anyone tell me how to fix this inventory status?
    AR reserve invoice was created and paid, however a delivery document was created separately which leaves the inventory shows committed 10, and available -10. At the moment the item physical item is "0" in the warehouse. what can i do to correct this and make the SAP show both committed and available "0"? Thank you very much.

    You're supposed to link the AR Reserve Invoice to the AR Goods Receipt (via the 'Copy To' /  'Copy From' function).
    As you've received the goods from a separate / unrelated AR Goods Receipt, you could maybe do a Goods Return to close the AR Goods Receipt, and then draw the AR Reserve Invoice into an AR Goods Receipt document again to 'fix' the inventory status.
    Of course, you will need to pay attention to the costing (FIFO / Avg Cost) and the fact that the inventory items could have already been sold.
    Review the scenario first before applying the above 'fix'.

  • 2800 Inventory on Modules

    Hello - I am having 2821 Router. I am trying to find out the WAN Interface modules (WIC) installed in the Router. I am using commands "show version" and "show inventory"
    "show version" gives output
    1 Serial interface
    2 Channelized T1/PRI ports
    "show inventory" gives output
    NAME: "Two port T1 voice interface daughtercard with Drop and Insert", DESCR: "Two port T1 voice interface daughtercard with Drop and Insert" PID: VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI=  , VID: 1.0, SN: 32051306
    NAME: "PVDMII DSP SIMM with Two DSPs", DESCR: "PVDMII DSP SIMM with Two DSPs"
    PID: PVDM2-32          , VID: V01 , SN: FOC14044JEQ
    The difference i am seeing, "show version" showing 1 serail Interface and 2 Channelised T1 Ports.. I am 100% sure 2821 does not come with on-board Serial Cards. Then why "show version is showing " 1 serail Interface card along with 2 Channelised T1 Ports"
    How many WIC Card does my Router has?
    Thanks in advance
    regards,
    SAIRAM

    You router has a 1 vwic card. Its a multi flexed 2 port T1 card. That means you can connect two T1 lines and it can be used for both data and voice.
    Serial interface is a logical port that gets generated when you configure the controller. if you run the below command, you will see the configuration on your controller:
    sh run | s controll

  • HW Inventory trouble

    The following is with SCCM 2012R2 CU3
    I have been adding a few Hardware Inventory classifications.
    Mostly, they work correctly but sometimes they don’t work quite right.
    Usually, the inventory shows up in Resource Explorer correctly, but other times it has an unexpected category listed, and does not contain data.
    For instance…  I imported the mof below, and instead of the category showing in Resource Explorer-Hardware as “Warranty Information,” it shows as “SMS_G_System_Microsoft_Warranty_Info_1_0” --- the WQL name instead of the SMS Group Name…
    weird.
    The tables and views in the SMS database are named as expected “dbo.WARRANTY_INFO_DATA” and “dbo. v_GS_WARRANTY_INFO” along with the correct history tables and views.
    Also, those tables and views are filling correctly with data sent from clients.
    The data is NOT displayed correctly (no data present) in the Resource Explorer for hardware inside the console.
    If I remove the hardware inventory class, the tables and views are deleted correctly  and the misnamed “SMS_G_System_Microsoft_Warranty_Info_1_0” is also deleted from the Resource Explorer-Hardware in the console.
    I have tried deleting it and adding back a few times – sometimes waiting over night before re-adding it, and the result is always the same.
    I also tried using the wizard to Add... the class instead of Import...ing it with the MOF shown below-same result.
    I have tried adding five other classes via MOF import and four worked correctly and one more had the same problem as this “Warranty Info”
      Anyone have ideas?
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE),
    SMS_Group_Name ("Warranty Information"),
    SMS_Class_ID ("MICROSOFT|WARRANTY_INFO|1.0"),
    Namespace ("\\\\\\\\.\\\\root\\\\cimv2") ]
    class Warranty_Info : SMS_Class_Template
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE), key ]
    String Description;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String DateScriptRan;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    UInt32 DaysLeft;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String DellIBU;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String EndDate;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String provider;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String ServiceTag;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String ShipDate;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String StartDate;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String SystemType;
    [ SMS_Report (TRUE) ]
    String WarrantyExtension;

    Here's what I would do--not sure if it would work or not, but it "can't hurt" to try.
    Change that .mof import; modify this:
      SMS_Class_ID ("WARRANTY_INFO"),
    Basically, get rid of the Microsoft| and |1.0 stuff in class_id.  I found--this was way back when cm12 was beta; that with that versioning stuff in classid I got goofiness.  Can I define "goofiness" no, not really.  I just know I'm
    happier without that stuff when I'm importing custom .mof 's

  • Hardware Inventory for Ipad

    I have integrated SCCM 2012 R2 with Windows Intune and created APN for apple devices. I have enrolled my ipad and see it in Mobile devices in SCCM 2012 R2 console. However when I right click Ipad and select Resource Explorer the hardware , hardware history
    is blank. How can I inventory Ipad? Am I missing something here?

    It might take some time until inventory shows up. How long have you waited so far?

  • Map 9.2 software inventory

    software inventory shows only 8 teams
    my network has over 200 teams, there are
    some port debea enabled in order
    to report the inventory of all equipment

    Hi all,
    Never mind.  I figured out what the problem was.  It was trying to connect to a server that wasn't allowing logins.  After rebooting that offending server, MAP worked fine.
    Thanks,
    Bob

  • Disparity between HD usage and Disk Inventory calculation?

    I'm cleaning up my dodgy Hard Drive before replacing it with an SSD.
    However, Finder shows my HD usage as 166GB, whereas Disk Inventory shows only 56GB.
    What is causing the difference?
    Nige.

    Connect your Time Machine HDD and click on it.  Open the Backups.backupdb folder and manualy drag and drop the folders to the appropriate places on your new SSD.  This will be a tedious and lengthy process but the 'automatic' trandfer is an 'all or nothing' proposition.
    Ciao.
