Opendocument, opening in a new tab when preference "In the InfoView portal"

Hi experts!
I have a webi document with a link I need to open in a new window (or tab).
In the opendodument call I specify target=_blank, and ir works unless the user preference of document viewing: "In the InfoView portal" is chosen.
Has anyone faced this before? How can I link to a new window despite this user preference?

Hello! Feature of opening link in new tab when middle-click it has just dissapeared; now, when I middle-click the link, nothing happens - no new tab, simply nothing! It's not issue with a mouse, I've tried another mouse, and it's the same, and middle click works in other browsers; right click and "Open link in new tab" (as well as other options from context menu) work properly. Edit: Errrm, I didn't know exactly how this works, so I had the idea to click "Solved it" button next to both above posts, as I really was not sure which one solved my issue; now, as I clicked the button next to first answer, I see it appears as chosen answer, and no more button next to second answer; sorry, Cor-el; thanks to both for your willingness to help anyway!

Mine appear in gray, too; I think that's just the style.
Does this problem occur on all pages? (If it only appears on YouTube or other pages with Flash players, it may be related to keystrokes being captured by the plugin.)
A standard diagnostic for possible interference by add-ons is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
If your keyboard shortcuts work correctly, this points to one of your add-ons or custom settings as the problem.

Why can't I scroll or use MMB to open pages in new tab, when I have a PDF file opened in FF4?

If I have a PDF file opened in firefox 4, I am for unknow reason unable to open pages in new tabs with MMB or scroll thepage up or down. The scroll function isn't working at all, and it seems like I'd be scrolling the PDF file, not the page of my current tab.

-1712 is a timed out error. One reported cause (with other applications) is that the application is attempting to open a large number of files, or a file that no longer exists.
Try holding down the shift key when launching preview. This prevents the application from attempting to open windows that were not closed before quitting the application.

the user jay_ff shows how to do it using the Menu Editor Add-on
1. Install the Menu Editor add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ .
2. After the installation, go to Firefox> add-ons (or simply use Ctrl+Shift+A)
3. Go to the Menu Editor "Options"
4. In the "Main context menu," simply grab the "Open link in New Tab" and place it below the "Open Link in New Window"
5. and Voila! You may also change other menu options if you want to!
I tried jay_ff method first and found that indeed changing the Main Context Menu did cause the hotlink context menu to change as well.

How can I get all new sites to open in a new tab rather tnan replacing the site in the existing tab?

When I click on most, if not all, of my bookmarks, the new site opens in the tab from which I was open. I would like the new site to open in a new tab (unless I type in the name where the address was. How do I get this done.

How do I get all hyperlinks to open in a new tab instead of redirecting the open page?

Simply put, when I hit a hyperlink I do NOT want the page I'm on to go to the linked URL -- I want the new URL to appear in a new and separate tab. FF used to do this just fine -- until I "upgraded" to 5.0.1 yesterday.
Between this and the smaller screen size for the FF browser I'm thinking of jumping ship back to Chrome...

Hotmail opens in a new window because the code or set of instructions on the MSN website tells Firefox to open Hotmail in a new window. I would suggest you right click on the Hotmail button and left click on "Open Link in New Tab". This will open a new tab in the current window.

How do I get a favorite or bookmark to open in a new tab automatically, not in the one I am working in? The tab options/settings are unhelpful.

I have 2 laptops. Both have Firefox as my number one preference.
One computer, is set up correctly, If I am on a site, tap on a bookmark site, it will open in a new tab and not interfere with my current tab. It's wonderful.
The other Firefox, if I click a bookmark it will open in the CURRENT tab, changing the tab to the selected bookmark.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF, but that did not correct the issue. I have read the tab options and help desk, but that doesnt help either.

There is no built-in setting for redirecting a bookmark to a new tab.
Is it possible that the computer which does that has an add-on such as the Tab Mix Plus extension installed? TMP has a setting for that (Events > Tab Opening).

How do I make "open link in new tab" go back to the second line after "open"?

I've newly upgraded to FF4.0 but I'm so used to opening new tabs by right-clicking a link and choosing "open link in new tab" instinctively by moving down a notch and clicking it as the second selection. FF4.0 new has it as the first option. Is there anyway to reposition it?

I did ad a add on called Stylish and it somehow worked!
Now everything, almost, is normal again!

With FF15 on Win7, when I click a Google Reader link (that open in a new tab when clicked, target="_blank" style), the new tab opens for a second, then closes.

The tab will not crash if I right-click, open in new tab, or middle click. Other sites with target="_blank" seem to be ok with left click (Google+ links for example). But Google Reader links seem to be completely broken.

Seems to be an adblock plus issue in my case. When I disable adblock it never happens. When I enable it this occurs on most links on google, twitter or reddit. Somehow seems them as pop ups I guess. Probably will have to fiddle with adblock plus.

Firefox does not open a new tab when you click the plus sign button which is actually a shortcut for opening a new tab. You have to open a new firefox window in order to get a new tab. Please help. Thanks.

I didn't have this problem before with Firefox. My kids must have pressed something or clicked on something that's the open new tab button does not function anymore. No matter how you click it, it doesn't open a new tab. Even if you click on file, then go to new tab, it still doesn't open a new tab. You have to open a new firefox window in order to do multiple browsing.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened. Checking your list of add-ons, the MyPlayCity toolbar is a version of the Ask toolbar.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

I am having a problem opening new tabs, when I click the + sign, and ask to open in a new tab, the new location opens in the same tab, thereby deleting the open tab
