OpenGL ES 2.0
N96 can support OpenGL ES 2.0 or not!
Can it support wmv?
http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N96
There is not said that!Why??
Do better than the best!
The official nseries website said it, that's enough for me. that it supports WMV9.

How do I use Qt and OpenGL with Visual Studio
Hi! I mainly want to program in C++ and I want to use Qt and OpenGL with Visual Studio.
I am currently revising C++ and later on i am going to start reading Qt and OpenGL. I have a background of
Embedded firmware design(C and Assembly).
The Visual Studio Version I have is 2013 ultimate. How do I use Qt and OpenGL with Visual Studio?
Thanks
AlexandrosHi ClassicalGuitar,
The forum supports VS setup and installation. And your issue is not about the forum. I will move the thread to off-topic forum. Thanks for your understanding.

NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver
Alienware M14x Laptop
Windows 7-pre 64-bit
8gb ram
3gb Video: NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M
Intel i7 2760QM
AE CS4
AE keeps crashing. I get the following message while doing something as simple as scrubbing through the timeline, or changing opacity of a layer. in 1080p, I have a picture layer, a solid, some color corrections, and that's it. i just got this new computer and i have never had this problem on my old computer.
this message appears after AE crashes."The NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close."
this message appears in the taskbar: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows kernel Mode Driver, Version 267.21 stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
any ideas on how to stop AE from causing my display driver to stop working?
Thanks, Ramzi RebeizFor anyone picking up this thread (it's probably too late for rrebeiz40 by now!) I have come across a simple but apparently very effective tip that has solved the 'OpenGL driver lost connection' issue for many people using various NVIDIA with various Adobe progs (incidentally a lot of these seem to crop up on Dell machines, especially Notebooks).
(It fixed my issue with Premiere Pro CS4 - GeForce GT 555M on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Dell XPSL702X).
It's posted on http://forum-archive.developer.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=5331&st=40 (look for the last post, No 50) as follows:
THIS FIX APPEARS TO WORK...found on an Adobe forum
"This issue led me to this fix: go to NVIDIA Control Panel --> Manage 3D Settings --> Global Settings, and switch "Power Management Mode" to "Prefer Maximum Performance" (the default "Adaptive" setting seemed to be the culprit). And that's it! The key here is changing the "Global" setting, as my individual programs were already set to "Prefer Maximum Performance." I can cause the error to reoccur by changing back to "Adaptive."
Otherwise lots more ideas on this site: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Fix...Nvlddmkm-Error/
My PC has been running for 2 days now. I only put the top fix in for now. Feel happier I have more options if need be though.

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION issue with regard to OpenGL
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION issue with OpenGL occurring with the Java SE Runtime Environment 6u17 on Windows 7, 32 & 64 bit platforms. Version 6u24 and later does not produce the crash. However, we cannot use any other version of JRE other than 6u17 due to customer constraints. The two primary scenarios where crash (jvm exits) occurs are: 1) toggling between two applications then selecting an image item on screen ( OpenGL rendering takes place)... (Log file: hs_err_pid6568_C2_TC_error.log). Scenario 2: When panning an image (OpenGL rendering takes place) and then clicking a button to load additional image data (OpenGL rendering takes place), crash occurs (Log file: hs_err_pid6036_ENR_TERRAIN_crash.log)
Is there any Oracle documentation noting any JRE fixes between 6u17 and 6u24 that might at least mitigate the issue(s) described above? Or information with regard to issues between JRE's and OpenGL ? Also, if anyone can advise on code mods, etc that we can try toward said mitigation efforts of course would be helpful.
The following snippet hopefully should suffice as general example for both noted issues:
Log snippet ( hs_err_pid6568_C2_TC_error.log):

v ~StubRoutines::call_stubThere are some other solutions possible.
1. Get another driver. The only one known is java only so it wont crash. But is not not free.
2. Use a proxy driver. That means that another app actually does the database work. If it crashes you just start it again (which you can do in your main code.) That way it won't take down your server. There are commercial jdbc drivers that claim MS Access but are are really just proxy implementations as an option in this area. -
After performing the OS X 10.10.2 update, OpenGL applications, for example Starry Night Pro fail to run, there are numerous windows update/refresh problems (incomplete refresh, remnants of window/frame borders), and some applications, for example Google Chrome are unusable, as cursor motion in the application window causes the display to flash horizontal bars in the window.
I've tried a variety of things, including downloading the most current release of Xcode, turning on/off transparency in Accessibility, graphics switching, and a few other things, but the problem persists.
The App Store display behaves similarly. I am running a MacBook Pro.

Satellite A350-13B - OpenGL and Radeon HD3650
Hi
My laptop is Satellite A350-13B with ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650.
I found that I have OpenGL 1.1 (7/7) and partially 1.2 (1/8).
I installed latest drivers from ATI site, modded with Mobility Modder (also tried drivers from Toshiba's site - without results).
I found that modded drivers require OpenGL patch to have it working.
You have to add:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers\ati2dvag
"Version"="2" %REG_DWORD%
"DriverVersion"="1" %REG_DWORD%
"Flags"="1" %REG_DWORD%
"Dll"="atioglxx.dll" %REG_SZ%
But after it OpenGL Extensions Viewer see the same values (1.1 and partially 1.2).
How is it possible to check highest OpenGl version available and make it working?
I have a file called atioglxx.dll in Windows\System32 and registry entries specified above, but OpenGL Extensions Viewer says:

OpenGL driver version check (Current: 1.1.0, Latest known: 1.1.0):
Latest version of display drivers found
According the database, you are running the latest display drivers for your video card.
No ICD registry entry
The current OpenGL driver doesn't expose the SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows (NT)/CurrentVersion/OpenGLDrivers registry entry. Unable to detect the driver version, driver revision name and filename.
No compiled vertex array support
This may cause performance loss in some applications.
No multitexturing support
This may cause performance loss in some applications.
No secondary color support
Some applications may not render polygon highlights correctly.
No S3TC compression support
This may cause performance loss in some applications.
No texture edge clamp support
This feature adds clamping control to edge texel filtering. Some programs may not render textures correctly (black line on borders.)
No vertex program support
This feature enables vertex programming (equivalent to DX8 Vertex Shader.) Some current or future OpenGL programs may require this feature.
No fragment program support
This feature enables per pixel programming (equivalent to DX9 Pixel Shader.) Some current or future OpenGL programs may require this feature.
No OpenGL Shading Language support
This may break compatibility for applications using per pixel shading.
No Frame buffer object support
This may break compatibility for applications using render to texture functions.
Few texture units found
This may slow down some applications using fragment programs or extensive texture mapping.
Extension verification:
GL_EXT_color_subtable was not found, but has the entry point glColorSubTableEXT
Thanks in advance for help.
PS: I'm from Poland, so keep it in mind ;)I dont know how to this but please note that Toshiba supports own drivers only. When you install driver directly from ATI you are on your own and it has nothing to do with Toshiba.
It is also recommended to use Toshiba drivers only.

OpenGL, nVidia 8600M GT 128mb and After Effects CS3 8.0.2
I've just sold my one year old macbook and bought a new (not so new now, revision C), 2.2 ghz nVidia 128 mb macbook pro.
I did that cause I work with After Effects and thought a bigger screen and dedicated graphics with OpenGL would improve my performance. Sure it did, mainly because I jumped from 1g RAM to 2g in the new computer.
But I'm experiencing a irritating bug that makes AE crash. I've searched in forums, adobe website itself, upgrade to 8.0.1, 8.0.2, made the Nvidia update via Software Update from Apple, and the problems keeps going.
It is mentioned in this document from Adobe: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...2244&sliceId=1
"After Effects error: AE_OpenGL: Create texture error. (5065 :: 0)"
In the solutions proposed in the document it says: "Disable OpenGL", "remove OpenGL plugin" and "Optimize the Texture Memory preference", among other things.
Disabling OpenGL wouldn't make my new graphic card useless in this case ? In the document, Adobe says I wouldn't have problems setting the Texture Memory preference because OSX makes it automatically. But at the same time says that the ideal should be 80% from my memory. If I have 128, 80% is 102.4, right ? My config is set to 114. Have OSX failed calculating ?
Thanks, and sorry for the long thread.There is a lot of conflicting and/or otherwise terrible info being posted as workarounds to getting the ae cs3 801 and 802 update to actually install. I have read everything from reinstalling the entire creative suite, to writing a custom script that disables the app running list in the config.xml. Hahaha what?! Tech support seems to need a week off...
Ok here's how to get it to install:
#1: go here and delete everything in it--> **user>appdata>local>temp>patcher** (this is in Vista...xp users will get there via c:\docs and settings...)
#2: install the update (it will fail
#3: go to **user>appdata>local>temp>patcher** again and you will see 2 new folders named PATCHER[some number here; ex: Patcher470]. Look in these for a folder named INSTALLER. Once you find it, double click on:
PatcherApplication
Voila- ae cs3 will now update to 8.0.2.
It's as easy as that. -
Mobility Radeon 7500 OpenGL issues
Whenever I attempt to use anything involving openGL, my CPU usage hits 100%. Complex openGL programs will drop to a framerate of less than 10, and sometimes crash Xorg. How can I fix this?

Has this always been the case for you or did you update recently and it started happening? There appears to be some sort of conflict with some machines and new changes to the kernel to allow quicker mode setting. See http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 47#p659347. I had to add !radeon to my MODULES list in /etc/rc.conf to get X to even work at all. I don't run anything that uses OpenGL so I don't know if it'll address your issue.
You may also want to take a look at http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 20#p662920 and add intel_agp radeon (that's two modules, in that order) to your MODULES list.
Well, I was having the graphical corruption issue in that first thread until I added the nomodeset boot flag. As for the modesetting, I think it directly conflicts with my boot flag, and without it, I get corruption. =/ -
XBMC, OpenGL and intel GM965 TV-Out
Hi !
I'm trying to set up an XBMC media center based on Arch, and I have some problem to get XBMC working with tv-out.
The media center PC is a laptop with broken LCD screen, so I'm using TV out as main display.
Xorg works fine, so as Chrome browser and other apps, but apps which uses OpenGL only gives me a black screen. I have tested with XBMC and Mednafen OpenGL output, and screen gets black for both. If I use Mednafen standard SDL video output, it works fine.
Hardware is an Intel GM965 chip, here's the lcpi output :

The XBMC version is 10.1-1, it's the the one packaged for Arch, from the community repository. I also tried xbmc-git package, but I had the same problem, so I get back to community package.
Is there someone here using this kind of video chip with XBMC on TV-Out ?
Is there a way to tell XBMC to use standard SDL video out instead of using OpenGL (like mednafen does) ?
Is there any options missing at xorg level ?
Thanks in advance for your help.Hi !

OpenGL in PSE 8.0 for Mac?
I can't seem to figure out how to enable OpenGL acceleration in Elements for Mac. When I look under "System Info" it says disabled and I would like to enable it. Any ideas?
You need to update the camera raw plug-in for bridge and PSE 8 separately (they use two different copies). In Bridge, just go to Help>Updates which will install, I think, ACR 5.7, which works with your camera. (You can't update bridge beyond that version).
For PSE 8, go here, download the latest version and follow the instructions in the readme file.
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Macintosh
Note that the directions may tell you that you can overwrite the old plug-in. That isn't true--you must remove it before putting the new one in there. -
No OpenGL in "Save For Web and Devices"?
My Mac Pro has an NVIDIA 8800 GT, listed among tested cards for CS5. I have OpenGL accelleration on and set for Vertical Sync, but I notice significant tearing when dragging an image about in the "Save for Web" window.
I guess what I should have asked was, why is the tearing present now? I never saw that with PS CS4, that I recall.

OpenGL is not working: KDE4.10.5 RadeonHD7870 xf86-video-ati
Good evening sirs.
I am using a fresh installation of KDE 4.10.5, a Radeon HD 7870 graphics card and the xf86-video-ati open source driver.
Unfortunately I am not able to use the effects of Kwin which require OpenGL.
When I try to set de compositing type from XRender to OpenGL there is no error but after I close and reopen the settings menu this is reset to XRender (without any warning!).
The reason is:

OpenGL does not work on Satellite L30-X10
Hi there
I have a Thoshiba Satellite L 30 - X10 running on Vista home basic. I have a ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Video card. I am able to play DVD's and some games that do not require open gl but when I try to play Wolfenstien or call of duty it get the message that It cannot open GL and I must update my drivers.
I have updated my drivers, It still does not work.
In the Ati Catylst program it says that I have the card stated above and it gives me the 3d versionof the card but says no version available on the video card even though the device manager says that it is working properly.HELP.
Can anyone please assist me as I am not familiar with Vista.
my computer also will create back up points but will not restore on any of my back up points could this be affecting the open gl for gaming as everything else works well.
Thanks to all who can help

where did you downloaded the drivers? From the toshiba homepage? Maybe you should try these sites, they offer the most actual drivers:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
http://www.omegadrivers.net/
and maybe you should checkout this site:

I hope you will get your games runnning...

NVDA(OpenGL) error escalates after OSX 10.7.4 update
I own a iMac6,1 model with NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256 MB video card. It is perfectly fine, has a new disk and 4GB memory. However with every release of OSX I get more issues with the video of my iMac: from artifacts to completely garbled screen and temporary / full freezes. After updating to OSX 10.7.4 it has become unusable. The existing error messages in the kernel.log (and corresponding screen issues) now appear about 4-5 times a minute:
kernel: NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0x6 = Fifo: Parse Error
kernel: 00000069
Is there a known fix, or is Apple planning to address this issue please?Wow things are getting bad. I have the same problem after updating to 10.7.4
The control icon is greyed out and there is nothing in the 'sound preferences' that allows this to be remedied.
Some of the solutions here are draconian (I should not have to reinstall to fix this, Steve Jobs would be turning in his grave) and Apple should be rightly ashamed that such a essential feature has gone to ground in the latest update.
Sane solutions appreciated. I can't record, I can't playback existing music, iTunes is useless, I'm not keen on silent movies, can't use Acrobat Connect.......the list goes on. -
How can I use OpenGl for iPhone games??
Hi! As you know I really want to be an iOS developer. I know how Xcode works. But I don't know for the graphics and animation. I've heard that OpenGl can be used in games. But how? I mean like connecting the animations in OpenGl to the program written in XCode. I don't understand that part yet. So please can you guys explain me about that. I thank you all.
Hi Eric,
it would help me frame answers if you give the background information:
- do you know any 3D computer graphics theory? E.g. viewing transformations.
- do you know any openGL already?
- do you already know objectiveC and ios programming?
To answer your questions:
- the OpenGL ES libraries are already included as part of the iOS SDK, so if you have that you are set.
- I am using an Air myself, works fine for developing for iOS, including code using OpenGL ES.
- OpenGL ES is based on OpenGL 3.0, so is very similar. Almost the same.
- read the post I linked to:
http://db-in.com/blog/2011/01/all-about-opengl-es-2-x-part-13/
He explains how to hook things up quite well. However, you do already need to understand how to develop for iOS.
As I mentioned above, it helps to know 3D Graphics principles. If you do not know that then it is difficult to animate using openGL (or any other SDK). There are third party tools available (e.g. Corona, Unity, project Anarchy) that can make life easier, but at some point you simply have to learn 3D graphics. Trying to do animation without understanding graphics is like trying to write native apps without understanding programming. You can cheat to do basic stuff, but nothing useful or deep.
This is not easy stuff, you will have to put some work into it. Start with the above link as an intro, and also the apple docs pointed to by teacup.
Good luck! -

// saves the content of the 'panel' in a file 'file'.jpg
String name = "";
int framewidth = canvas.getSize().width; // get the canvas' dimensions
int frameheight = canvas.getSize().height;
System.out.println(framewidth);
System.out.println(frameheight);
java.nio.ByteBuffer pixelsRGB = BufferUtils.newByteBuffer(framewidth * frameheight * 3); // create a ByteBuffer to hold the image data
GL gl = canvas.getGL(); // acquire our GL Object
// read the Frame back into our ByteBuffer
gl.glReadBuffer(GL.GL_BACK);
gl.glPixelStorei(GL.GL_PACK_ALIGNMENT, 1);
gl.glReadPixels(0, 0, framewidth, frameheight, GL.GL_RGB, GL.GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, pixelsRGB);
int[] pixelInts = new int[framewidth * frameheight*3]; // Convert RGB bytes to ARGB ints with no transparency. Flip image vertically by reading the
// rows of pixels in the byte buffer in reverse - (0,0) is at bottom left in OpenGL.
int p = framewidth * frameheight * 3; // Points to first byte (red) in each row.
int q; // Index into ByteBuffer
int i = 0; // Index into target int[]
int w3 = framewidth*3; // Number of bytes in each row
for (int row = 0; row < frameheight; row++) {
p -= w3;
q = p;
for (int col = 0; col < framewidth; col++) {
int iR = pixelsRGB.get(q++);
int iG = pixelsRGB.get(q++);
int iB = pixelsRGB.get(q++);
pixelInts[i++] = 0xFF000000 | ((iR & 0x000000FF) << 16) | ((iG & 0x000000FF) << 8) | (iB & 0x000000FF);
BufferedImage bimg = new BufferedImage(framewidth,frameheight,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);
bimg.setRGB(0,0,framewidth, frameheight, pixelInts, 0, framewidth);
try
File imageFile = new File("final.jpg");
File imagf = new File("final.png");
File image = new File("final.bmp");
ImageIO.write(bimg, "jpg", imageFile); // saves files
ImageIO.write(bimg, "png", imagf);
ImageIO.write(bimg, "bmp", image);
System.out.println("Success");
catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}You want to convert it to an array of what? Of numbers? Of LabVIEW colors?
The "Read BMP File.vi" VI outputs a 1-D array of the pixels, but I suspect it is not exactly in the format that you need. I am NOT sure, but I think that each group of 3 elements of that 1-D array (which is inside the cluster "image data" that the VI outputs) represents the red, green and blue levels of a single pixel (but it may be hue, saturation and lum.). Also, since it is a 1-D array, you would have to divide it by the width (which is also included in the "image data" cluster) to get some sort of 2-D array of data.
You can find the "Read BMP File.vi" VI in the functions palete> "Graphics & sound">"Graphics Formats".
