Opening a Muse 2014 file in 32bit Muse 7.4

Hi guys,
Recently I was building a site in the latest 2014 version of Muse.
Now I would like to continu working on this site, but I'm temporarily stuck with a 32bit Win7 machine and Muse 7.4, which means I cannot open the newer version Muse file.
Is there any workaround to open the Muse file created in the 2014 version on the 32bit machine?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Tamás

Hi
Unfortunately we cannot change the last saved format of muse file , if it was saved using 2014 version then it will not work with older version.
You would need 2014 version to work on the file.
Thanks,
Sanjit

is there anyway to open flash cc 2014 file in flash cs5 and work on the files

Flash CS5.5 lets you open any newer file. But you can save down to older versions (back to CS5) with CS6 if you have access to it. Flash CC does not give you the option to save down.

  • Cannot open illustartor cc 2014 files from bridge

cannot open illustartor cc 2014 files from bridge... after I installed Illustrator CC 2014 and updated Bridge CC I cannot open the Illustrator files from Bridge as it seems the path for opening such files still points to the old Illustrator CC folder which I have uninstalled from my computer

still points to the old Illustrator CC folder which I have uninstalled from my computer
Probably meaning you did not use the correct procedure for uninstall or have some remnants left of a trial. In Bridge Preferences File Type Associations you can change your default application for opening files of the wanted file types.

  • Can Illustrator CC open illustrator CC (2014) files?

Can Illustrator CC open illustrator CC (2014) files? I am in a production environment where we run Snow Leopard and we can't upgrade to Illustrator CC (2014) because it requires Lion.

AiCC 2014 files will open fine in AICC. However, for the cases where any new type of content has been created with new features in AICC 2014, you might see some change.

  • Can I open muse 2014 file in 2013?

I made my site in 2014 version but my license is expiring soon.
I still have 2013 perpetual license.
Can I save them in a format which will be compatible with 2013?

    >> "I still have 2013 perpetual license"
What does that mean? If you have 2013 you also have 2014! Muse has a substcription model. You simply need to update.

  • Consistently getting error on attempting to open a cc 2014 file even after just saving and closing

I keep getting the above problem. The file is not corrupted as It will eventually open after many attempts to clear cache, or registering into the CC. It can be as many as 10 times trying different combinations before it will open the project file. I keep saving as in order to produce another project file and again the same problem. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any answers to a very off putting and critical experience?
In the end to open the project I had to open a first version of the edit that opening in Premier CC which asked me to update the project file to a newer version of CC2014 which I did. Then open the most recent version of the edit at that stage instead!!!
I am very unhappy with this approach and dont know how to get this problem saved out of this edit project - amy ideas will be very gratefully recieved! I previuosly have tried saving as now in the newer verion of the software and would expect the problems to be resolved and be able to open the new version without trouble.
I am working at this time on a PC.
Should i be uninstalling the earlier premier pro cc? Just concerned this may leave me with no way of teasing open this project!!
    Thanks

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Premiere Elements is not part of the Creative Cloud applications.
If your program is Premiere Pro, you have posted in the wrong forum. If that is the case, please repost your thread in

  • Will Indesign CC (9.0) open Indesign CC (2014) files

If so, great, if not, where can I download a back copy. My office hasn't upgraded and adding 2014 to the mix right now is not optimal.

You will likely get better program help in a program forum InDesign

The Cloud forum is about the Cloud as a delivery & install process

  • Help! Muse 2014.3 keeps crashing when I attempt to save my .muse file

I have the latest version of Muse [2014.3] Since the update the application repeatedly crashes at the least 'provocation'.
I'm building a multipage website for a client and brought the last file home [I'd been working on it at my office]. One or two of the image files needed updating, which I did. When I attempted to save the updated file I got [and keep getting] a fatal error.
The error message reads: "Dangling Ref or Ownership: BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID, BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID, BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID".
The application then hangs and I have to force quit. This is happening repeatedly and the dialogue tells me nothing about how to fix these errors [3 image errors perhaps, since the current crashes happen after updating images?]. I'm in a serious time crunch now, how can I recover my file to continue working on this project and what is causing the problem? Anyone help me?
Is this version of Muse really that unstable?
    Thanks,
    Charlie

    Hi Fabia,
I think I fixed it over the weekend. But interestingly, my problem was images inside compositions too.
I did something similar to you, where I didn't let Muse update when the file opens [which was causing the crashes]. Instead I located the images in the assets panel, opened them in Photoshop and resaved them. Then I imported and saved after each one. This seemed to work.
For me, the 'container' was apparently OK, I had the background fill set to none anyhow, so reasoned there might be a problem with one of the seven images [seven in my case, but which one, or maybe all?]. Since then, I've been able to add content and save normally, and this morning I've been able to let the client see the site progress, as promised.
Thanks for the reply and good luck with your project.

  • Adobe Muse 2014 won't open at all.

I have installed the recent update for all the Adobe CC programs but Muse doesn't open at all. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing all my adobe programs. They all work except Muse 2014. I double click to open and it does nothing at all. Can someone please help.
    Thank you.

How are you doing the rename?
The letters between backslashes are folders names. The list of folder names describe a "path" to a folder or file (i.e. folder1\folder2\folder3).
%appdata% is a shortcut that expands to something like johnvic36\AppData\Roaming on your specific computer depending on what your user account is named.
The folder names that need to be renamed are:
    com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0
    and
    Adobe Muse CC
"com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0" is in %appdata%. It should be renamed from "com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0" to "com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0_old".
The specific Adobe Muse CC folder that needs to be renamed is in %appdata%\Adobe. It should be renamed from "Adobe Muse CC" to "Adobe Muse CC_old".

  • New Adobe Muse 2014 not bringing up most recently saved work on previous Muse files

    Greetings,
When I opened up my newly downloaded Muse 2014 and opened one of my previously created website files, Muse 2014 was only registering the work I had done on the site, quite a while ago. So I closed Muse 2014 and opened the previous version of Muse and opened the same website file, it registered all of my most recent work on the site. Can anyone tell me how I can open up my most recent work in Muse 2014, for websites I've created prior to Muse 2014?
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Abhishek,
Thank you for the reply. Wanted to comment on a few things.
I reviewed the other post that you've referenced. Nothing unusual jumped out at me as something that I was not aware of. I'm running an older iMac that is in good working condition. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24" screen. I know this issue is fleeting, as I stated earlier typically can be corrected with a restart of the CC Desktop application (that I am always running at startup). I have not been able to determine that shutting down Muse corrects the issue. I would, at this time say it doesn't.
I did open InDesign and see if the fonts in question, Open Sans and Open Sans Condensed, were present and usable. They were. The fonts are shown as being synched in my CC Desktop app window (even if they are not "installed" in Muse). That is expected but it may be a bug in how Muse brings in a font from those that are already synched to your CC account. I don't know enough about how that works to comment.
And just to complicate matters, Muse seems to be working again, the fonts that is. I brought them back in and they are showing up in all locations (which there are actually three - see screen shots).
First is primary text menu dropdown (to right of orange "Text").
Second is if you click orange Text link. Another drop down menu appears.
And lastly, the Text Panel to right of screen.
I also wanted to add this extra bit of information, for what it is worth. When the issue arises and you do not get the sub-menu dropdown showing various styles of the font (italics, bold, etc.), one can use click on the missing font if you had used it previously and it is present in the "previously used font" list.
    Cheers!

  • My Muse file won't open: "This Adobe Muse site file requires a newer version of Adobe Muse. Please update to the latest version."

My final project for this quarter in a web design class is due in less than a week. And suddenly, after months of working with this exact file, it won't open. I'm trying to open it in CC (newest version of Muse) at school. At home, I downloaded a trial version of it. I would think the trial version would be the absolute newest version..and even if it wasn't, why can't the even newer version open it? PLEASE help me. And, what do I do if my trial version has expired (I'm not home right now, so I can't check..) and I can't open it to fix it (if that's what I needed to do..)?
Note: at school we have CC, always updated. At home I have CS6, but downloaded a trial version of Muse. So, I would think the trial version would be the newest and CC not CS6. I don't know, though!
Note: is there a way to extend my trial version for, like, an hour, to retrieve this file? It would absolutely suck if I can't get it back now. I've spent a long time on this.

Could you please send me the muse file to [email protected] along with a link to this thread. If they're larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.
so that I may check and help in getting this resolved?

This Adobe muse site file requires a newer version of Adobe Muse. I want to comeback to old version Adobe muse i need help to open my file thanks

    Hi,
You may need to design the site again in older version OR may be copy and paste in place from new to old except what is new in the latest version.
    Hope that helps!
    Kind Regards,

Updated to Adobe Muse 2014 this morning and have worked in it for the last 8 hours. Now when I try to publish the updated site to Business Catalyst for my client to preview it crashes everytime. I have tried just publishing altered files only, then tried the whole site again, and then tried publishing as a new site altogether. Thought I would then try to export as HTML in the hope of uploading the files via an FTP client and Muse crashes and locks up again. I am extremely stressed about this as I am in the last few days of of website I have been working on now with no issues since December. We are due to go live and my client needs to see it. I am desperate for an answer. It is not looking good. I am on an Apple Mac and have not had any isses publishing it for the last 6 months. Not very happy to say the least. Need desperate help.

Hi Zak, I got onto Adobe Customer Care Live Chat this morning and gave them the error message. After some trouble shooting with them it appears the older archived file of the site still publishes. I have now reverted back to the old file and copied and pasted out of the new file and from some ideas given to me by support I am now able to publish to Business Catalyst. It seems there was something corrupt within the new pages added yesterday. I have no idea if this would have still happened if I hadn't updated but I am glad it wasn't a Muse specific problem. I am loving using Muse and the support from Adobe has been excellent. Thanks everyone. By the way I do love the new version and apart from this hick up that lost me a few hours, aged me some more and gave me grey hair I really love Muse. Thanks again.

  • Problem with opening my files in Adobe Muse - error stating it isn't latest version but Adobe CC says it is...

Hi, I downloaded a 30-day trial of Adobe Muse. All was working well. I published the site but it seemed to merge my site with another in Business Catalyst, so I deleted the site in BC. Then when I tried to publish again form Muse, I get 'An unknown authentication error has occurred using your AdobeID'.
I searched online and was advised to uninstall Muse and reinstall. All done fine but when I try to open my muse site file, I get an error stating 'This Adobe Muse file requires a newer version of Adobe Muse. Please update to the latest version'.
Meanwhile my Creative Cloud profile states its the latest version.
Please help. I had considered just signing up and subscribing thinking this may solve problem but am a little wary to do so in case issues are not resolved even then and then I am paying fro an app I cannot use! Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Amen, same thing for me this is a big bug and leaves all the Muse users scatching their heads. Adobe is pretty arrogant about Muse users, they are targeted for abuse.
