Opening HDR images in ACR is great but why is there no support for EXR?
As said above why is there no support for the EXR format, which is THE industry standard for HDR images?
Christian Bloch, author of the standard reference book for HDR imaging is thinking the same:
"The next step should certainly be OpenEXR support. Full-on 32-bit TIFFs are annoyingly huge for no good reason. Seriously! For the image above it's 120 MB versus 30 MB in EXR, with absolutely no quality difference."
Will EXR support come in the near future?

HELP. ............Hi folks hope some one can help me please.Having a problem in Bridge I open my images in ACR, as I open files in a folder and lets say they are labeled in yellow they are all going back to the camera raw default , in other words no matter what work I have done, inc cropping they all go back to ,as they came out of camera. just got a Nikon D610 and CS5 for Mac can't open the images -- message says installed version of camera raw doesn't support the camera. Downloaded the Raw 6.2 update for Mac, but installation failed. Now what?
The D610 didn't get out-of-the-box RAW support until Photoshop CC.
You can either upgrade to CC or use the DNG Converter to convert and open your DNGs in CS5. -
The update of web page iCloud is great, but why don't u just remove the "Notes" label from the "Mail" app?
In additional, I also would like to see a "iOS liked" way to edit my "United contact" on the web page iCloud, just like on my iphone. That would be really great and more greater!

It's difficult to tell exactly what you mean, or where you are looking.
But if you're looking in the App Store on the iPad, in the Updates area, and you still see the icons, they presumably now say "Open" to the right instead of "Update". They will stay that way as a history of what you have done. They will disappear after a while - something like 30 days. That is fine. -

Since loading Maverick and then, with the assist of Apple Support, I had to reload drivers and updates for my HP scanjet G4050, I now enter image scan to scan photos but nowhere is there a "send" button to get them to iPhoto.
Here are a couple of ideas:
1. (my favorite) - connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable for virtually the same functionality, more speed and fewer connectivity issues.
2. Reset by turning the printer off, holding # and 6 keys while and for a few seconds after turning it back on.

After installing Mountain Lion, why is there Yahoo access for one user but not another?--both are administrators.
We've had several instances where we have had to run chkdsk on arrays with over 1m files. Average completion time is approximately 72 hours. The maximum downtime window they have available is the 64 hour weekend window. File sizes and number of files were
much smaller then than they are now.
The idea, in theory, was to use VHDs to compartmentalize the data into smaller volumes which could be more easily managed. It would also improve performance when transferring these compartments of data as they would use sequential read/write rather than
fragmented/random. This idea was never fleshed out in entirety, they don't split data up into little containers, but simply into big ones per project. Hence the 11m files in one container that I am currently trying to diagnose.
Some other important facts: The VHD in question is mounted in B:/project/ as this server also allows remote workers to log in, but they are restricted to see only data in E:. Disks A-D are hidden via group policy.
Update: icacls is failing on a large number of files within this dataset. I counted the path characters to ensure it wasn't the 255 character limit I was encountering and verified that the paths being blocked are only about 150 characters long. Once it finishes,
I'll have to try taking ownership and then re-running it. At this point I still have no idea how long to expect. I'm running out of time as the environment will be in use again at 9AM tomorrow morning. -
I'm trying to update my Photoshop CS5, but continue to receive the same problem every time. The application manager update dialogue box simply states "some updates failed to install." There's no specific error code, but a link to contact support for further assistance. It doesn't take me to customer support, but does take me to a screen which states. "Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product." I've checked my account and the product serial number is associated with my account., so I don't see any problem. I have not been able to find a resolution to this problem, so I hope that someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you!

D.p.middleton the Adobe Application Manager has been available for quite some time. It not only allows Creative Cloud users to install their applications but also downloads and applies applicable updates. In addition it is also responsible for the licensing and managing your agreement to the terms and conditions of the EULA.
2. this could be due to you selecting a trial subscription to the Creative Cloud? If you go to one of the Adobe Creative products and select Help>Updates it will launch the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which I believe is the portion you are looking for?
#3 I believe this was already mostly covered in the answer to #2.
#4 the Adobe Application Manager also receives periodic updates which affects both perpetual and Creative Cloud subscription users.

I can not help you with the slow editing in Develop mode; I am on Windows so maybe some Mac user can help you.
You will not be able to open an image in an external application by double-clicking because that will always get you to Lightroom's Develop module.

You should set your external editors in Preferences, External Editing Tab. The first of those will be set to CS3 or CS4 if you have either installed.
You can choose the second external editor. In my case I use Nikon's Capture NX as my second External Editor.
But I have temporarily changed it to Bridge, purely for researching my answer to your question. This will open Bridge, and you can then select "Open in Camera Raw"; however this is such a long way around that it is hardly worth doing. And it also suffers from the problem that if you do not close Bridge, another copy of Bridge will open the next time choose to edit in Bridge from Lightroom.
I do not think that you can choose "Camera Raw" as an external editor because it is only a plug-in for Photoshop and Lightroom; and the version that Lightroom uses is basically the same as used by Photoshop.
I wonder why your Lightroom editing is slow? It may be worth looking at that problem first.

You can set this in the preferences. By default it is set to open only jpeg
and tiff with settings (and that is really the only setting I want because I
don't want to open ACR every time I open a jpeg or tiff file... )
Under the menu Bridge you have two preferences, first Camera Raw and then
Preferences (those are for Bridge)
In the Camera Preferences you have at the bottom the ability to choose from
3 options to open jpeg and tiff in ACR. Not at all, only those with ACR
Settings and all the time.
Also consider this workflow:
Leave the default settings to open only files with settings and in Bridge
Content panel select one or more files you want to alter in ACR. With right
mouse click choose 'open in Camera Raw' from the sub menu.
If you already have altered files and want to fine tune them just double
click to open them in ACR (those have a little icon with sliders top right
of the thumbnail)
You can also use the filter panel (Camera Raw - custom settings) to show
only the files with settings.
Just another workflow -
I read in a library book that I can work with JPEG images in ACR by going to file >Open as selecting image and choosing the camera raw option. However the selected image appears in the main editing space, not in camera raw. I`m using elements 10 with windows XP. Can anyone tell me where I`m going wrong?
What's your screen vertical resolution ?
On some notebooks, it seems it is inferior to the required minimum vertical resolution for the camera raw dialog to appear (I am not sure, something like 800 pixels). Then the automatically converted raw may be opened in the normal editor.
Don't trust me too much for that, that's something I have never tested myself.
