Opening in 64 bit or 32 bit
Where would I find the setting to do this in Safari on my macbook pro 10.4.11 OS
Really looking forward to hearing from someone !

Like BugSquash said, with you running 10.4.11,
You would not have the 64-bit to even worry about.
You're already running 32-bit.

HT5318 cannot open itunes on windows 7 64 bit
I am no longer able to open iTunes on windows 7 64 bit. Have tried "repair" option and remove and redownload.
I am trying to understand the exact sequence of events here:
Firstly the iTunes installer includes Quicktime and you should not have to install it separately.
You downloaded the 32 bit iTunes installer: iTunesSetup.exe.
Normally the correct version should be downloaded automatically so that shouldn't have happened.
When you tried to run it, did it warn you that you had the wrong version and stop without installing anything?
Then you downloaded iTunes64Setup.exe
What happened when you tried to run that, did you get any error messages? If so give the full text.
What iTunes related programs do you actually have installed, if any?
Check in Programs on the Control Panel.
The following link on uninstalling iTunes lists the programs you need to look for.

Hi,
I am unable to open itunes on wndows 7 64 bit laptop....tried reinstalling it, tried older version (itunes 10.6) but nothing seems to work. please help.
Regards,
BirenHere is a solution that worked for a user who also had a problem with iTunes Software Support. This thread was for a win32 version, but Maybe this is the problem for both of you?:
IT appears that AppleApplicationSupport.msi, is not opening and installing properly.
Download and SAVE iTunesSetup.exe, where you can find it.
Then:
1. Download and install WinRAR.
2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.
Here is a link to that fairly lengthy thread.. http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151777&tstart=-1 -

Upon opening LR I receive a "Server Busy" dialoge box: "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem." I have no other programs open and when I wait a bit it clears with the 'retry' button. Happened following a recent update. I'd really like this to go away - any ideas?
For me this happens when I have Zenfolio or Facebook open in Google Chrome, even if Google Chrome is not active. If you use Chrome, when the error shows up open Chrome and close each one of the tabs and click on the retry in Lightroom. Also happens if Internet explorer is running with either of these two programs.

Is there a way to determine if an application is 32-bit or 64-bit?
Is there a way to determine if an application is 32-bit or 64-bit? To be more specific, I want to be able to determine if a 32-bit application is being emulated under WOW64. I'm trying to use the Call Library Function and selecting IsWOW64Process from the Kernel32.dll, but I can't seem to get it to work. I think I may be setting it up wrong. I'm using a constructor node and invoke node for Process and after calling GetProcesses in the invoke node I'm sending that into a For Loop to inspect each process seperately. Inside the For Loop is where I'm trying to use the Call Library Function. From what I've read IsWOW64Process has a Handle as an input and a pointer to a boolean as an output. I may be incorrect in this as I've seen multiple varieties of this call on the internet. I've tried setting this up but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm looking for help on how to correctly use the Call Library Function or if anyone knows a better way to do this I'm open to suggestions. Thank you for any help.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi klynn,
I've got a link you might want to check out to make sure that your call function is correct.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms684139%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
I would also recommend that you check out DLL.VI example in example finder.
Example Finder > Communicating with External Applications > Using External Code> Integrating DLLs > Call DLL.vi
Hope this helps,

hi,
I have windows 8.1 and windows 7 both installed on my laptop.
when I open windows 7 and go to start menu I see both version of IE 32 bit and 64 bit.
but when I go to windows 8.1 core edition 64 bit ,I don't see IE 64 bit or normal (32bit). I see only IE and when I go to about IE I don't see there any information about IE if it is 64 bit or 32 bit?
I find it strange because I don't know with which version of IE I am working 32 or 64 bit? I know my IE is 11 but I don't know if it is 32 or 64 bit?
h.davidIt's complicated :)
MS changed a lot of things with the release of Win8.
By default, 64bit versions of Win8.0/8.1, will never run 32bit IE.

How to convert 64-bit to 32-bit oracle 8.1.7
We are planning to upgrade our O/S version from AIX 4.3.3 to 5.2
The limitation is that AIX 5.2 and 8.1.7.4 64-bit are not certified. We are also running Oracle Financials 11.0.3 so we cannot upgrade to 9.2.X versions.
Can anybody tell me how to convert Oracle 8.1.7 64-bit to 32-bit? ( before upgrading to AIX 5.2)
Is there a performance degradation between 64-bit and 32-bit RDBMS?Javed, I suggest you open an iTAR with Oracle support. For one thing I believe you will need a different binary. You may already have the install CD since I believe we received both and choose 64 bit.

Bridge CS6 64-bit and 32-bit FREEZE on Launch
Now I am having problems with Bridge CS6 again. Both 64-bit and 32-bit suddenly have the behavior of freezing on launch. I get the application window open but no icons populate and I can't do anything in the interface. Not even close the application. I have to use Windows Task Manager to quit the application forcibly.
Not sure what's going on. I went to the start menu and hit Ctrl+Bridge 64-bit to give me the options to reset preferences, dump the cache, and one other option that I also checkmarked. Still no dice.
Can anyone help me out before Adobe Customer Support becomes available in 4 hours? While searching for a set of files on my computer using traditional search in the gui i discovered that the indexing functionality of windows was turned off. I tried to turn it on and search again but kept getting the error that indexing was turned off. I went to the event viewer and saw hundreds of events related to this error. I thought by suspicion that there might be a correlation between this windows malfunction and adobe bridge not functioning properly. After finding an appropriate solution to reset the search functionality of Windows known as 1) Windows Search and also as 2) Indexing, I tried to run Bridge again and now it works just fine. So the solution to the Bridge problem was to fix Windows Search and also fix Indexing of files.

Mode Change 32 bit to 16 bit seems to be a bug.
When changing from 32 bit to 16 bit, CS5 opens an HDR sscreen and doesn't allow the change.Thank you!

Subject: Mode Change 32 bit to 16 bit
That's normal as 32bit contains way more colors than 16/8 bit so it opens up the HDR Toning dialog so that you can tell Photoshop how you want it to handle all those colors. The change to 16bit happens after you click on OK in that dialog. -
CS4 stopped working in Vista 64 (both 32 bit and 64 bit)
Photoshop CS4, both 32 bit and 64 bit have been working great until after the Adobe update process loaded 11.0.1. When I try to start either the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of CS 4, I get the opening screen and then an error message that says, ..."Photoshop CS4 stopped working", and it closes the application. CS 3 still works fine. CS4 Bridge works fine. I have made no changes to PS CS4. Any ideas?
In the event of a situation where the application is unavailable for de-activation, you need to install the program again and, when prompted for activation, call the special (not customer support) number on the screen.
I have never had to try this, but that information has been posted several times. -
Good evening
On my desktop I have the two 64-bit versions and 32 bit Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Could you tell me the advantages and disadvantages between these two versions.
Thanking you
UlyssesTo give you the 10,000 ft view of the advantages and disadvantages of the 32-bit versus the 64-bit versions of these products …
The real difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of these products is the ability to use much larger address spaces with the 64-bit version. Generally speaking, for most documents and images, you will absolutely not see any performance advantage with the 64-bit versions of the applications (and in fact, there could be a very minor but measurable performance degradation with 64-bit). The advantage of the 64-bit versions is that they can directly access orders of magnitude larger virtual memory space. Typical 32-bit applications can only access a 2 GB virtual memory space, regardless of how much physical memory you have installed on your computer. This may sound quite ample, but when you are dealing with very long and/or very graphically-rich InDesign documents, for example, that 2GB memory is chopped up into temporary document storage, screen buffers, placed imagery temporary storage, and work spaces for a myriad of internal functions including layout, color management, content placement, PDF (and DPS and other format) export, printing, etc. Prior to InDesign 9, it was not uncommon to need to regularly exit InDesign and restart the program to reclaim these workspaces to avoid out of memory messages – these were not messages about being out of physical memory, but rather virtual memory. With the new 64-bit version of InDesign, these issues are of the past. Illustrator documents may be complex, but with rare exception contain only one artboard and typically don't have the same virtual memory issues. On the other hand, if you are a user that runs Photoshop with large number of layered, large, high resolution images open, the additional address space of the 64-bit version may be necessary for you as well.
Disadvantages of 64-bit are relatively few. If you use plug-ins for which there are not yet or might never be 64-bit versions, you might be stuck using the 32-bit versions for the time being. An example of this under Windows would be availability of a TWAIN scanner plug-in for Photoshop 64-bit – it doesn't exist.
All this being said, unless you have plug-in compatiblity issues, the 64-bit versions of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are mature and very stable and thus recommended. (Personally, I've hidden the Windows Start Menu items for both 32-bit Illustrator and 32-bit InDesign and have suffered no problems.)
Be aware that going forward, the 32-bit versions of these applications will eventually be dropped.

How do I know if I am using WLS 7.0 with 32 bit or 64 bit server?
I have been told that it is possible to install WLS 7.0 for use with a 32 bit or 64 bit server.
I am wondering the following:
1. How would WLS 7.0 install by default on a 32 bit server?
2. How would WLS 7.0 install by default on a 64 bit server?
3. If I wanted to change how it was installed, how would I do that?
4. For an already installed instance, how can I tell which instance of WLS 7.0 was installed?
Thanks in advance,

Do I have 32 bit or 64 bit Windows?
I'm still trying to download the proper BIOS for the update that the ThinkVantage recommended. Now it's asking if my Windows on the T400 is 32 bit or 64 bit. How can I decide? The "System Properties" dialog box says I have "Windows XP Version 2002 Service Pack 3"
