Optimizing radio streaming

I have iTunes 6 (trying to upgrade has been unsuccessful it won't let me install after downloading, but that is another problem) and I listen to Beatles-a-rama under the Classic Rock radio category and I constantly get interrupted airplay and continually get network stall messages to rebuffer the stream. So frustrating! Is this the Web site or is there a way I can change my settings. It also does this with the iTunes 7 I have at work on my PC, but less frequently there.
I am on high-speed wireless cable connection.Appreciate any advice.

Yes, but it WON'T play through the browser. It'll require any visitor who clicks it to have iTunes installed, and it'll open iTunes as soon as they do.

Meta data (song information) not updating in mini player for radio stream

I notice in the mini player view, the meta data does not update for radio streams. This is a big deal for me because I listen to radio stations all the time, and I don't want to have to switch between the mini player and full player to see the song information. This wasn't an issue in iTunes 10 (and previous versions as I recall), where I could just click to toggle between the name of the station and the meta information.

I understand your concerns, but regarding the headphone jack, this is standard procedure. While you may have checked these things, and know more about the player, a lot of people will not check the basic things before contacting support. The Advisors have to check these things with you first to make sure they've been checked.
As far as transferring data goes, it is true that unfortunately we cannot transfer data over for you or make a back-up. Doing this for all the returns for different players would require a lot of resources, time and money, making the RMA process a lot longer for everyone. In some cases, it's even necessary to replace the harddri've or the whole player.

I am running Lion (10.7.1) on an early-2011 MacBookPro with iTunes 10.3.1 and I am frustrated, because it will cut the stream at least once per hour (it's totally random), while my older MacBook, running Tiger with iTunes 9.2.1 doesn't have any such problems ... Any solution?

Maybe you should upgrade iTunes to the current version - 10.5.3 - and upgrade Lion to 10.7.3.

How do I manually download radio stream list in 7.01?

I reinstalled Tiger and Itunes 7.01. When I started Itunes for the first time and selected Radio I got a message that the list of radio streams need to be downloaded from the internet which I agreed to. Unfortunately I had forgotten to setup the internet connection so the download failed.
Now the list of radio streams is empty and I'm not asked if I want to download again.
How do I initiate a download of available streams manually?

I tested my previous post with my 'Test' account before posting that reply and it worked.
This is what I did:
Deleted the .plist file, disconnected modem and ran iTunes.
Clicked through the initial questions and clicked on 'Radio'.
Got an completely blank window; reconnected modem, clicked on 'Radio' and the categories appeared. Clicking on the small triangles loaded the streams.
Did the same steps again, but before connecting the modem again, I first quitted iTunes and deleted the .plist file.
Both times it worked and I got the streams.
Sorry, I don't know why it doesn't work on your system.
Your 'Radio' window is completely blank? Not even the categories?

Itunes hangs during radio streaming and has to be forced quit

Itunes plays radio streams ok for a while, but eventually the music stops. Pressing stop to restart the url doesnt work, the whole of itunes becomes frozen and unresponsive and needs to be force quit everytime.
Its very frustrating as when you restart itunes it needs to then check the whole library.
Playback is fine for all hard drive content. Happens on both ethernet and airport connection.
Cant seem to find other people having the same kind of issue.
Have reinstalled itunes several time to no avail.
Any ideas?

I think I have the same problem and I am pretty sure I can give a recipe for replicating it: listen to any radio stream; when the stream gets interrupted for buffering (if you have multiple windows open, you probably won't notice the little dialog box popping), press the "PLAY" key on your keyboard. Voilà. iTunes hanged.
I've submitted countless bug/crash reports on OS 10.5 and OS 10.6. Something changed in Lion (10.7) in that even though iTunes still *has* to be force-quit, it doesn't count it as a crash and so there's no prompt to submit a report.
Frankly, I am kind of amazed that this years-old bug which probably affects just about everyone listening to streams is not fixed already.

it's listed under preferences > internet radio
but when i check it nothing appears in the sidebar.

Does iTunes 11 still offer the radio streams that the previous editions did? For instance I could listen to Canadian Brodcasting from all over Canada, or NPR stations in different cities. I know they've added a Pandora like feature, but I'd like to keep the streaming radion feature as is.

I believe honest word of mouth is the best recommendation and the iMix ecosystem contains plenty. There are over zealous self promoters and fanatical fans in there too but at least the content its real opinion and generated by real people. Which is far better that the beefed “Listeners Also Bought” box which just looks like machine generated advertising to me."

Depends on which one you are referring to. You have iTunes radio that will shuffle the songs for based on an artist or genre. Then there is Internet Radio and that will have a bunch of categories for listening to different genres.

CS4 Doesn't support rendering content optimized for streaming

This is great, I render content for a Flash Streaming Server that serves an international community. I recently upgraded to Premiere Pro CS4, and have come to find out the following from Adobe Support today:

Great. Could someone please tell me who made this decision at Adobe? And what sense it makes? I thought CS4 was supposed to be my shortcut to brilliance.
Also, this wouldn't be so bad not being able to render content optimized for streaming if the max bitrate setting work when rendering H264 content. However, an Adobe representative responded to me that it's a known bug by Adobe that this setting doesn't work with H264 content (F4V, Quicktime, H264, etc).

ITunes Radio Streams Not Listed

Hi,
After installing the latest version of iTunes on a Windows XP machine, iTunes does not list the radio streams, not even the catagories of radio streams. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the radio streams visible? Prior to upgrading, the radio streams were available. Also, the computer is behind a company firewall and most, but not all, radio strams are blocked.
