Optimum font size that's universal for browsing?

I keep my font setting in Safari to never go smaller than 14 but most web pages I visit have garbled text until I either enlarge or reduce it. Is there a universal font size that will keep pages cleanly laid out and not stacking and garbling the text? The screenshots show the differences in text on the left and right. Bottom is 14 font and top is either 15 or 16, whatevers one (command + plus) up. Thanks

Try 12. That way you will get very few line screw-ups, and you should be able to reach a good compromise that way. As to special text, the people who design the webpages generally stick to the ones most easiy read. Have you tried various brightnesses for your display?
I'll be getting my rMBP next week, and I'm looking forwardd to seeing if I see any great difference.

How to fix font size that is too small to read on each new page

At Windows XP suggestion, screen resolution is set at 1280 x 1024 in Display Properties. Large fonts and large icons are selected. "Type" size on every new screen that comes up is so small that I can't read it without +++ to zoom in. Seems especially severe on web sites but email and regular applications (word perfect in particular) are also presenting such small font size that reading is very difficult without zooming in on every new page.
What setting(s) adjustments am I missing?
Or should I just disregard 1280 x 1024 suggestion and cut those numbers down?

it sounds as though you may have accidentally placed one of your movies into a Drop Zone... is the time shown for your Menu the the same as one of your movies? depending on the theme, some Drop Zones are hard to differentiate from the part of the Menu Page where you can drop/place movies. take a look @ the Map View for any alert warning symbols in the Menu Thumbnail. if you have dropped a movie into a Drop Zone, just place something else in there & then drag your movie to where it should be on the Menu. i hope it's something this simple.

How to change the font size of the header for a login page

I am using theme 15. I want the header of my login page have a larger font size. Can anybody tell me how to do that?
In HTML Header I put text like

In HTML Header I put textDid you mean Page Header Text? It wouldn't have done much of anything at all in the HTML Header...

How do I overwrite the style sheet? I am wondering if I change the default style sheet, does that also affect the other pages, which is not what I want. In that case you can just include the CSS inline, which will also get round the universal selector issue. You are also recommended to use a semantic HTML element instead of deprecated presentational elements like <center> and <font>. Assuming this text is the primary heading on the page, use <h1>:

Font size changes in emails for mac to windows

When I send an email from my Mac using Microsoft Outlook 2011 the font size changes when sent to a Windows computer. Some of the email is ok and then some lines of text are in a larger font size. How do I maintain consistency in font sizes from Mac to
PC with Windows? I send all emails using HTML formatting. Thanks!

This is a known issue when sending emails from Outlook for Mac to Outlook for Windows. This is caused by the pixel-to-point or point-to-pixel conversion that happens between the Mac and Windows operating systems. See:

Been running PS CC 2014 on Windows 7 - no problems. Just installed on lap top running windows 8.1 and the font size is so tiny it can't be read. Options in computer settings don't make any improvement. I am unable to use PS at all.

Font size problem in CS2 for Windows

I've run into a problem that I had about a year ago but can't remember how to fix it. When I highlight some text and look in the Character palette, the size shows as 9 pt (8.33 pt). When I try to change it to 10 pt, the number in the parentheses changes and is the actual size (not 10 pt). I know this can be fixed so that there are no parentheses and the size that shows is the actual size, but I can't remember how to do it.
Any suggestions?

Just purchased a Mac today. Large screen but small type size on the desktop. How can I change the font size that appears on the desktop? The only place that I can find font size is in word and this is not what I need. Thanks for your help!

I would assume that you first have to generate a suitable metafont using, e.g., CreateMetaFont(). In the latter function you can specify the point size.

Outlook 2010 Font Size In Messages

We have two machines, both with new installs of Outlook. In my machine the font size that is active for a New message is OK. On my wife's machine the font size is VERY SMALL! Also, when I Reply to a message for font size I see is OK, but when she replies
it becomes very small.
In addition, on her machime she has a signature that is set at Calibri 11. But when she selects New Message, the displayed signature is very small. I have spent hours comparing the settinge of the two machines (Windows 7 with all updates) and I can see no
differences in the settinge in anyplace I search.
What could be the reason? What am I doing wrong.

Hold CTRL Key and scroll the cursor
should enlarge the font size include signature.
Try to enlarge the font size then re-set the signature to check the issue.

I can't get into the settings for fonts. How do I do that to change the font size?

I had downloaded the latest updated version of Firefox and I ended up syncing it to my Android phone. I went into some kind of settings dialog and accidentally changed my font and text settings and now I can't read any of my Gmail that's in my account on my desktop computer-it's too small. I'm trying to figure out how I can get into the content settings (I have the print out of what I'm to do once I get into the 'options' on the content settings page, but I don't know how to bring up the content settings menu/page). I use my desktop PC for work purposes and I can't use it with the font and text settings the way they are now. I also read where questions are being answered, but no one knows how to find the answers to the questions people are asking. How do we get to the answers that people give us about the question we have asked?
I hope you can help me ASAP so I can change what I need to ASAP. I work on my pc 24/7 for work and it's not helping me when I can't read emails and I can't fix the problem.

I followed the directions that were given to me in this forum. The only difference on my desktop PC computer after you click on the three lines at the top right of the screen after signing into your g-mail account, it will bring up the menu and you click on the 'Options' tab. I'm on G-mail and I'm running windows 7 Home Premium; there wasn't a preference tab and the percentage was already set at 100%. It takes you straight to the options menu. You then click on the 'Content' tab if it's not already open, change your font and font size to what you want, and then click OK. It reset those items for me and now I can read my emails. I noticed if you change the font type and size to something other than Times New Roman-size 16 (default font & size), you may have to change the size of font to a higher number (i.e. Arial-18 font size). You just have to adjust them for your preference if you want something other than Times New Roman-font size 16.

Change font size in write to OLED for lm3s8962

I'm would like to increase the font size that is displayed on the OLED screen with the lm3s8962. I am aware of the write to string vi. This subvi calls a c function, which I assume contains within it the stellarisware c code for writing a string. I've done some minor programming using KEIL, and now that at the code level, you can specify the string length and height, but I don't know where to access raw c code that the subvi is calling, in orDer to modify it. Any thoughts?

Font Size for Favorites column too small in Leopard

I just installed Leopard and find that the font used in the Favorites column is smaller than that used by Tiger and is too small for me to read. I see that the View Options allow font size to be changed for the file and folder names in finder windows, but I can't find anywhere to set the font of the Favorites column. Can anyone help me with a hack?

Is there an optimum photo size physical and resolution for use on the Ipad.

It depends on whether you want to zoom in the image. If you don't, pre-converting them to the native screen resolution of your iPad 2, 1024*768 (assuming 4:3 aspect ratio, as is the case with most Point and shoot (but not DSLR, which, generally, use 3:2!)) will make sureyou use the least storage and will always have the fastest file transfer.
If zooming is important and you have pictures over 16 Mpixels you want to fully zoom in, then, you'll need to use third-party apps like Photo Manager Pro (review: http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/all-one-photo-viewer-roundup-70-price-drop-bes t-image-viewer ), which doesn't downsize your pics and doesn't use much more storage than it should.

How do I set default font size?

Some programs (most importantly for me, Thunderbird) use a default font size that is too small for my eye comfort. Some (such as Firefox) allow me to change the font size, but Thunderbird does not (though there is a menu item to change font size, which does not work).
I gather that such programs are using a default system font size. So I would like to change this. Some Help articles suggested that I could do this from the Font Panel, but they give no indication where to find the Font Panel. I cannot find it in System Preferences or via the Spotlight.
I am using OS X 10.4.7
I am computer-literate, but new to the Mac, having had this computer for about a week and a half.
P.S. In Thunderbird -> Preferences -> Fonts there is an option to configure the fonts used by Thunderbird. The settings affect messages, but not the main window with the message list. However, at this point I'd really like to set the system default so all programs that use the system default will be affected.

It only works for that page of that web site, as soon as you leave you start all over again.
Can't we just say Firefox messed up and needs to revert to the way it used to work without have to do ANYTHING to adjust any sizing.
This is utterly ridiculous.
It's a web browser for GOD sakes...not the OS. It shouldn't be doing anything but displaying web sites with NO INTERVENTION by the user for each and every page.
Why are programers always looking for ways to take a working product and make it useless???
