Option in web reports

Hello Friends,
I need some help on web reports.
I have created a web report with option bittons.
When i execute the report its displaying the default value with out selecting any option.
I need an option should be selected when i executed the report by default.
Can some one throw some lights on this!!!

Customizing Print Options for Webi Report

Scenario:
Environment: BO Xi R3.1
Webi report having around 10 tabs in a Single report and all report tabs are built on 1 query.
Requirement
1)Need to have print pop up box which will give the same functionality as Office tools to the end users.
i.e., need a way to bring the Java Report Panel (Edit mode) print dialog box to the DHTML (View Mode) so that End Users have more options for printing.
2)Need to have an option to print report tab selectively.
3)Need to have an option to print reports for multiple filter selections.
Any pointers, suggestions to the above requirement are of great help.
Appreciate, if the Specific SDK class details are also mentioned with any possible options.

The form is where I concatenate the SQL that is the record source of both the report and the subsequent record updates. So the form is always open before the report is opened (that is where the code to open the report resides and is run), and it must remain
open while the report is open to maintain the value of the variables, including the WHERE clause of the SQL statement that will be used for the posting process when the user closes the report. That is, the SQL used to open the report MUST match the
SQL used when posting the records, or the user could change some selection parameter and post records not on the report.
And I open both the form and report modally to prevent a user from inadvertently running the report's Close event outside the context of the form, with its variables all set for the posting process.
I know I could pass all of this to public variables, but I am trying to keep it as clean and as close to the Form -> Report -> back to Form as I can.

How to enable Drill option in Webi Report based on BW universe.

Hi All,
We are working on BOBJ/BW sandbox misgovernment .
We are building Webi report to explore Hierarchies based on BW (Cube/BEx report) universe, the drill option is disable in webi,
I checked drill option in document property nothing happens, even we tried to create
webi report on efashion having the same issue.
Webi we are using trial key --> is this some thing to do with this ?
Or , some thing we are missing.
Can you please help us on this.

I am also facing same problem and nw m using Administrator(userName) then there is no need to be give other rights(administrator using FullControl) as u given
Applications->Web Intelligence->User security()->Assign security->Advanced rights->Add/remove rights->Application->Web Intelligence->Enable drill mode.
Plz let me any other solution.

Error when used GOTO option in Web Report which is published in EP

Hi All,
I ran the report Process Chain Status report in EP and I got the data for that.When I right click on the one process chain and clicked GOTO option ->clicked on Process Chain Log and its giving the following error.Pls help me out regarding this.

"database logon" option for schedule report

When scheduling a report,
Crystal report has the "database logon" option in "shcedule" property page.
But I can't find the "database logon" option for webi report or deski report.
Is this by design.

We do not have data base logon option while scheduling the report.
I am not sure what is the significance of it in Crystal but in Webi or deski report we do not need it. We have connections for every universe/report and that has these database log on credential in it. Based on it reports get refresh and run.

How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

Hi,
I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.

Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
you have to check formating very carefull.

How to restrict 'Broadcast and Export' option of BW report through web.

Suppress Export Option Using Crystal Reports Web Report Viewer (viewrpt.cwr

We have an existing Crystal Report that is being displayed using the Crystal Enterprise Web Viewer (viewrpt.cwr) in a call like this: http://<servername>:8080/CrystalReports/viewrpt.cwr?id=<an id value>etc.
When the report is displayed, the toolbar has an export icon that allows the user to export the report to PDF, Excel, etc.
I want to suppress the export feature, but retain the print feature. I have read the documentation that I could find on the web for this viewer and have been unable to find a way to do this.
Does anyone know how this could be done or a different way to display the report with a different viewer that would avoid having to redesign the report itself?

CMC is Central Management Console. Logon to CMC

Now select the report from the folder and click on the tab Rights and click on the advanced option for the user and here Under the report you have an option "Export the report data" check the deny option for this and apply. Now this option will apply for that particular user only, if you want to apply for all the users under one group then click on advanced for that group and change the option.

Select-option of a variable is acting wierd in web report

Hi,
I am getting the following error in web report when I click a select option button of variable. Has any of you come across this situation ?
Error: <b>"System error in program CL_RSR_WWW_RENDERER and form GET_VARDEF_FOR_F4:03 (see long text)"</b>
We are on BI 7.0.
The ABAP code in the above mentioned Class & method are in sync with a relevant OSS note 671405.
This is kind of wierd to me as it doesn't give any error when I run the same report in our QA Portal, It is happening only in our BW Production system.

The OSS note you specified is for 3.x and you mentioned you are on nw2004s.
Whats the Support pack you on currently.
I saw couple oss for SP-8 and 9 for the error you mentioned howver ,I presume you should be minimum on SP-10 ,so those may not help.
You may wish to take a look at OSS below-

PS- As a part of sanity check if your QA and PROD are on same support pack.

Infoview option missing from interface / Cant run webi report

Hello all
I recently installed XI 3.1 enterprise version on my computer and the installation was sucessful, I can access deski, designer and all other expect infoview (webi).
When I try to view sample webi report , I get a message that ' Cannot perform this operations; no valid license found (Error;INF)
Also when I try to open a new document and when I click on New, I dont even see an option for infoview.
My friend installed at the same time and on his computer it is working fine.
I am using windows 2003 server.
I know the licence is valid as it is running for my firend and all other like designer etc are working fine so it seems like it is not the product key issue.
I woull appreciate if you guys help me on this as I have tried to installed it atleast 6 times now.

Is your problem that you can't access InfoView or is it that you can't access WebI reports from InfoView?
If InfoView is working OK but you can't access WebI reports, I would look at a couple of things.
1. In the CMC, go to License Keys
2. Make sure that your license key is a "Premium" key. If it's a "Professional" key then is sounds like you only have access to Deski.
3. Go back to the main screen in the CMC and click on Applications.
2. Then go to the properties for Web Intelligence.
3. Then go to User Security.
Make sure that your user ID has access to WebI.

I had opening CMC with Administrator Account.Due to some reasons i want to "Block EDIT option" for all WEBI Reports.Just Viewing is sufficient.In the same way for Universe"Blocking EDIT object option".Instead of Administrator guide reference (chap no 18 &19)option.Could you help in steps resolving issue.Thanks in advance.

Hi Swapna,
You could perform the following steps:
1. Login to CMC.
2. Go to Folders >> Manage >> Top Level Security
3. Click on Add Principal and add the user or group for which you have to set the security.
4. Click on assign Security >> Advanced tab >> Add/Remove Rights.
5. Select Content >> Web Intelligence Report
6. assignt "Edit Object" right as denied and click on apply ok.
This would help you to block edit option for only webi reports and all the webi reports in your environment.

How to disable drill option for one column in the WebI Report

Hi,
How to disable drill option in a column in WebI?
When the Drill option is enabled by default all the column in the report will have that enabled,
I ahve added Hierarchy in the Custom hierarhcy list in Universe.
I am using BOXI3.1 WebI Reports.
But I wanted only the hierarchy column to have that drill option enabled, rest all column should display text data.
PLease let me know if you have any idea.

Cretae the variable at the report level (may be with the same definiton) and then use that variable in the table
to disable the drill. It will be displayed as normal text object.
Drill functionality is enabled only on the objetcs coming from the universe.

BW Analysis authorizations issue in BO Webi Report

Dear All,
I have one webi report which is on BEx Query-universe.
Query has 6 authorization variables with ready for input(optional).
User has authorizations for all 6 fields.
But when we execute the webi report it is throwing error message like" query do not retrive data"
One of the 6 authorization fields has only few values , when we give " * " to this field the user can able to execute the report.
Could anybody tell me what is need be done here

Probabily the combination of authoriztions funcions are executing considering "and".
See your configuration to considerer "or".
Test one by one.

URL error while executing a web report in WAD

Hi,
When I execute a web report through the Web Application Designer, I get the following error:
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://abcd.efghi.es:8000/sap/bw/BEx?
The following error was encountered:
Unable to determine IP address from host name for abcd.efghi.es
The dnsserver returned:
Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:
The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
But when I execute the web report with the IP of the machine http://123.456.7.893:8000/sap/bw/BEx?...........
I can execute my web report correctly.
I didn't find any options in the menu web template in order to modify the url generation.
Please help me to solve this problem.

Values not getting refreshed in web report.

Hello Friends,
Currently i am running an web report. The scenerio is i have check box with 5 options For Ex: IMS , IMR, IMN,IMM,IMP.
IMS is the combination of all divisions and IMR is the combination of only three divisions.
In BEx we runthe report with divisions . For ex : divisions are Ind1, ind2,ind3,ind4,ind 5.
Instead of displaying divisions in the select options like Ind1,ind2....etc., we have created a structure in the report
and using new selection we have restricted the divisions with IMS,IMN,etc.,
IMS->combination of all divisions. IMR is combination of ind1,ind2,ind3.
IMN... all are with single divisions
Now we have assigned the query in the data provider for select options in hte web report,
But when we select any options the values of the remaining queries are not getting refreshed.
If we use the divisons directly with out using the structures the values are getting refreshed.
Can any one give me the solutions for this?

Hi Mansi,
Check the Prompt properties in the Edit Query window of the webI. In the query filters section of window, click on the blue icon which says Prompt Properties. Deselect Keep Last values select and run the webI again.
