ORA-15018 on running asmca
Receiving this error and everything looks like it should be, any ideas would be immensely appreciated. The 3 devices at the bottom are the asmdisks.

Hi,
[arqopasr29].ora11g:/home/ora11g > /opt/oracle/app/ora11g/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/asmca -silent -oui_internal -configureASM -diskString '/dev/oracleasm/disks' -diskGroupName ASM_CONF -diskList ORCL:ASM_CONF -redundancy EXTERNALYou are setting wrong disk discovery path to be used by ASM:
Your config:
-diskstring : /dev/oracleasm/disks
-diskList: ORCL:ASM_CONFYou are mixing the disk discovery path which can be configured in different ways.
1. Using /dev/oraclasm/disks/
2. Using ORCL:*
Try it:
-diskString : '/dev/oracleasm/disks/*'
-diskList : /dev/oracleasm/disk/ASM_CONFor
-diskString : 'ORCL:*'
-diskList : ORCL:ASM_CONFSecond problem:
brw-rw---- 1 ora11g oinstall 8, 17 Oct 25 13:01 ASM_CONF
brw-rw---- 1 ora11g oinstall 8, 18 Oct 25 13:01 DATADG_DISK
brw-rw---- 1 ora11g oinstall 8, 19 Oct 25 13:01 FRADG_DISKYou configured wrong OS group (oinstall) to ASMDISK. You must re-config ASMLib to OS Group 'asmadmin' or 'dba' depend which group you configured during Installation.
Hope this help,

ERROR ORA-30200 IN RUNNING CREATION FILE - Forms [32 Bit]
Running a process of Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.5.35.3 get the error ORA-30200 while running the same process from a different computer file creation occurs in a correct way (This is a client-server)
The form uses the TEXT_IO and specifically the following functions
TEXT_IO.FILE_TYPE;
TEXT_IO.FOPEN (FILE, 'W');
TEXT_IO.PUT_LINE (OUT_FILE CR);
TEXT_IO.FCLOSE (OUT_FILE);
At this point I believe that the problem is not in form but more in the PC used for the implementation thereof; Can you help on what to monitor and especially if there are requirements for the client so that TEXT_IO functions properly.
Thank you very much ...Daniele,
What is the format of the file name you are creating? I did a quick Google search and the common thread I found was a reference to a file name used "Long File Names" instead of the old 8.3 format. It is also possible that this error could result from the user not having permission to write to the file location.

ORA -04062 when running forms aginst a different schema
Hello,
I am getting this error (ORA -04062 signature of 'procedure' has been changed)when I try to run my form aginst my test- schema (different from my development schema). I get rid of the error if I compile the form against the test schema. In the production environment I have to run this form against multiple schemas, so recompilation is not a possible solution.
Has anybody else come across this problem.
nullThanks John for your reply !
I think my problem is close to the second thing you mention as a possible cause. I found out that I had used a parameter of type table%ROWTYPE in call to a pacakged procedure. When I defined a "TYPE MyRec IS RECORD" record type in my pacakge specification and used that as the type for the parameter my form seems to work against my test schema without recompilation. Unfortunately the table is pretty large so my package specification does not look so neat anymore. And I lost the dynamics associated with the %ROWTYPE attribute.
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by John Alexander ([email protected]):
That's a well-known bug. Its worse with a v7 database, but still can occur with 8/8i.
A couple of things to look for:
1) REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE is SIGNATURE instead of TIMESTAMP in init.ora.
2) Forms that call stored procedures with a large parameter list (about 55 or more) can get a run-time error ORA-4062 if running on a different schema than where it was compiled.
3) You can also hit a snag if you are calling a dbms_XX package within the form. Instead, call it within a db procedure, which you can call from the form.

Errors: ORA-00054 & ORA-01452 while running DAC Full Load
Hi Friends,
Previously, I ran full load...it went well. And, I did some sample reports also in BI APPS 7.9.6.2

StoneHi, Please see the answers (in bold) below.
1. ANOMALY INFO::: Error while executing : TRUNCATE TABLE:W_SALES_BOOKING_LINE_F

Just restart the load, It seems like your DB processes are busy and the table still has a lock on it which means something is not yet Commited/Rolled Back.
If this issue repeats you can mail your DBA and ask him to look in to the issue
2. ANOMALY INFO::: Error while executing : CREATE INDEX:W_GL_REVN_F:W_GL_REVN_F_U1

please tell me the steps to achieve....
please execute this sql and get the duplicate values. If the count is less you can delete the records based on ROW_WID
How many duplicates do you have in total?
*1. SELECT INTEGRATION_ID,DATASOURCE_NUM_ID,count(*) FROM W_GL_REVN_F*
GROUP BY INTEGRATION_ID, DATASOURCE_NUM_ID
HAVING COUNT()>1*
*2. SELECT ROW_WID,DATASOURCE_NUM_ID,INTEGRATION_ID FROM W_GL_REVN_F*
WHERE INTEGRATION_ID= (from 1st query)
*3. DELETE from W_GL_REVN_F where ROW_WID=( from 2nd query)*
Hope this helps !! -

ORA-3113 while running export (first run ok, second run fails)
Hi,
I'm running 10g (10.1.0.2.0) on gentoo Linux.
After a restart of the database I can do an EXP for any user without errors. But when I repeat the same command after the export I get the following error:
. . exporting table WEB_SESSION_DATA 0 rows exported
. exporting synonyms
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 3113 encountered
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully
It's always the same error on the same task (exporting synonyms) but always just for the second and any later export, while the first one is ok.
I read through some forums and found, that ORA-3113 is a standard error which just hides the real error. So I look into the trace files and found:
ksedmp: internal or fatal error
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [jox_lookup_known_object()+413] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x1AD14034] [] []
Current SQL statement for this session:
SELECT SYNNAM, DBMS_JAVA.LONGNAME(SYNNAM), DBMS_JAVA.LONGNAME(SYNTAB), TABOWN, TABNODE, PUBLIC$, SYNOWN, SYNOWNID, TABOWNID, SYNOBJNO FROM SYS.EXU9SYN WHERE SYNOWNID = :1 ORDER BY SYNTIME
If I call this SQL from sqlplus I get the same ORA-3113, so this seems to be the cause for the export failure.
When I remove the DBMS_JAVA.LONGNAME calls from the statement, it runs fine. It also runs fine, when I add a "and 1=0" to the EXU9SYN view. But this will not really solve the problem, because then all synonyms don't get exported.
I also checked all the synonyms and they are valid, the referenced tables exist and can be queried.
Because we use JavaStoredProcedures I cannot remove the Java Features in Oracle. But I reinstalled it (rmjvm.sql and initjvm.sql) but this did not help.
Does anyone have an idea what's happening here?
Especially the "first run ok, second run fails" seems to be very strange, because DB objects including DBMS_JAVA should be ok, if the first export can be done. So what changes in the database during or after the first run?Maybe description for bug 3953108 (ORA-7445 AND ORA-3113 DURING DIRECT FULL DATABASE EXPORT OF PUBLIC SYNONYMS) is helpful.

Error ORA-01460 warning ORA-01461 during running a mapping with parameters
Oracle 10g release2(10.2.0.1.0), OWB 10.2.0.1.31, Workflow server 2.6.4
I have a simple process flow ( start -> mapping -> end).
The mapping consists of 4 input groups(3 ordinary tables<INGRP1, INGRP2, INGRP3> and 1 mapping input parameter operator <INGRP4>), a joiner, a filter, an expression operator and 1 output group.
I want to use two variables in join condition, so I bound two mapping input parameters(<INGRP4.SRC_SYS_CDE> and <INGRP4.ADMIN_ORG_NUM>) with two parameters of the process flow's start activity.
Those two mapping input parameters are of type char, one is 4-char long and the other is 2-char long. So I set both of the two parameters of the start activity as String, one as 08, another as 7504.
My join condition is:
INGRP1.ORGIDT = INGRP2.SOURCEORGANIZATIONNO AND
INGRP2.SOURCESYSTEMCODE = INGRP4.SRC_SYS_CDE AND
INGRP2.ADMINORGANIZATIONNO = INGRP4.ADMIN_ORG_NUM AND
INGRP1.CURCDE = INGRP3.NUM(+)
There are no errors and warnings in validation, generation and deployment process, but when I run the process flow, it always finishes blankly(zero insert) with no error and warning messages. It should insert more than 20,000 rows.
When I run the mapping and set the parameters 08 and 7504 at the parameter prompt, then start, the following error and warning occurs.
Error ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested
Warning ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
So what's the problem? How can I fix it?The problem was mapping input parameter type.
VARCHAR2-type mapping input parameter works with String-type PF parameter. But CHAR-type won't. -
ORA-01745 when running Explain Plan
Hello everybody,
I would like to know what is the best way to report a bug. In fact I believe just found one and I would like it fixed. I am using the latest version of SQLDeveloper on WinXP that uses its own JDK.
To replicate the bug it's very easy, just try to do an explain plan of the following query:
SELECT * FROM scott.emp
where empno = &&emp_nr;and the "*ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name*" error appears. Since the query executes properly, but the Explain plan errors out, I believe this could be a bug.
Thanks,
PaoloGary,
thanks a lot for your feedback.
I have found this weird behaviour, because I was trying to avoid another one. In fact I tried using the substitution variable syntax instead of the bind variable syntax in SQLDeveloper, especially to avoid the issues coming from automatic data conversions.
For example, if I run the following query using the bind variable syntax (passing SYSDATE as the parameter value):
SELECT *
FROM scott.emp
WHERE hiredate BETWEEN TRUNC(:p_eff_date,'yyyy')
AND TRUNC(add_months(:p_eff_date,12),'yyyy') - 1;it will go in error with "*ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE got NUMBER*", because the filter predicate will be converted automatically as follows:
TRUNC(TO_NUMBER(:P_EFF_DATE),TO_NUMBER('yyyy'))<=TRUNC(ADD_MONTHS(:P_EFF_DATE,12),'fmyyyy')-1This behaviour is visible by running the explain plan on the above query. Isn't that TO_NUMBER(:P_EFF_DATE),TO_NUMBER('yyyy') a little bit too wrong? Note that the second occurrence of the P_EFF_DATE parameter does not get converted. Can't this "automatic conversion" behaviour be disabled somehow?
Due to this weird issue I tried to use the substitution variable syntax, but the main issue with the single ampersand is that you have to enter the value of the parameter as many times as the parameter is referenced in the query and you can imagine that with big queries written by other people this is not so easy.
Is there another way to pass parameters to a query in the SQL Worksheet? How can I "use literals rather than variables" as you suggest? Do you mean NOT using parameters at all?
Thanks,
Paolo
