Oracle BAM Deployment Plan XML

Hi All,
The BAM adapter is not properly deployed on the WebLogic Server. It is showing status as prepared. I checked the BAM Adapter properties and found that the Plan.xml it was referencing is not present in the speified location. My question are
1) How will I generate a new Plan.xml for the BAM Adapter and will it contain all the configurations in it.
2) Also, can I copy the Plan.xml for OracleBAMAdapter.rar from some other WebLogic server and just change the connection details. Will it work?
Regards
Thomas

Hi,
Please find my responses below
1) How will I generate a new Plan.xml for the BAM Adapter and will it contain all the configurations in it.
When you create a new connection factory or modify the existing connection factory then the weblogic console creates the plan.xml to store your configurations. The configuration is effective after you restart the server.
2) Also, can I copy the Plan.xml for OracleBAMAdapter.rar from some other WebLogic server and just change the connection details. Will it work?
It may not work if you have not linked the OracleBAMAdapter with plan.xml that gets generated in step 1. After the plan.xml gets generated then you can compare and ensure to try out if you can replace with some other file. I have not done this before.
Thanks,
Ritesh

  • Oracle BAM 11g - Deployments and development questions

    Hi!
    I have few questions related to Oracle BAM 11g developement and deployment processes. We are going to use that together with Oracle SOA Suite 11g ( BPEL / BPM processes), and now my questions are related to development phase:
    1. If we have two or more Oracle BAM developers with their own Oracle BAM server instances, and we would like to share our development work, should/can we you same database repository to share the reports, data objects?
    2. How we can copy Oracle BAM Data Objects, Reports etc from one environment (dev) to other environments (test, accept test, integration test, production) ? In software deployment projects (like Spring or Grails web-projects) we have used version control system and CI to build packages to different environments etc. How is the Oracle BAM deployment process actually "planned to be" since it uses its database repository to store objects and reports ?
    3. The Oracle BAM itself has nice reports etc (Oracle BAM Client) that can be used using IE browser. How if we have to show/include those reports from Oracle WebCenter Spaces ? Is it possible and how?

    Hi,
    Were you able to find the answer to your questions? Especially the one, showing BAM reports in Webcenter Spaces?

  • Remote deploys from Windows to Linux fail with deployment plans on WLS 10.0

    Hi there,
    We're using WLS 10.0.1 running in a RHEL environment (actually CentOS release 4.7 for development), and attempting to perform remote deploys from Windows work stations using the weblogic.Deployer ant task.
    It works fine when not using deployment plans, or when performing a remote deploy from a unix based work station such as a Mac. However, introducing a deployment plan causes a failure only when run from Windows.
    The log trace follows:
    weblogic.Deployer -debug -remote -verbose -upload -noexit -name obpservices -source C:\work\obf\ver4.0\services\target\obpservices.war -targets obEnterpriseServer -adminurl t3://wlsdev:7001 -user weblogic -password ******** -redeploy -plan C:\work\obf\ver4.0\services/src/runtime/deployment-plans/steves-deployment-plan.xml

    Of course this file does actually exist when the correct path separators are used.
    Is this a bug? Is there anything we can do about it? The chances of us upgrading WLS are very remote unfortunately.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve C

    This is something you should definitely file an Oracle support ticket for. It's entirely possible there's a patch for this.

  • Using the deployment plan to extend the security roles

    Hi,
    We have an existing application that has a set of security roles defined. This app has been deployed to Weblogic.
    We would like provide additional security roles through this application. Currently, we have been doing this by manually editing the web.xml and the weblogic.xml files and redeploying the app. Is there any way to achieve this using the deployment plan feature ? If yes, how do we do it?
    Regds,
    Mridhula

    you can use the following deployment Plan xml file:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <deployment-plan xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/deployment-plan" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/deployment-plan http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/deployment-plan/1.0/deployment-plan.xsd">

  • BAM deployment doubts

    I had gone through the Oracle BAM Deployment Document. I had some doubts in that. Can any one clarify the following.
    1. The document says, "Client IE browsers are responsible for rendering the report on the client machine. This document does not address client systems or performance. It is recommended that client machines should be at least 2GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM and located on the same network domain as the report server. "
    Doubts:
    - Does BAM supports only clients belong to the same domain.
    - Is it for development environment.
    2. At the end of document it says, "Client System Requirements:
    1 CPU at 1.2 GHz or faster, 1GB RAM minimum, 5 MB of disk space with Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1 or higher, or Microsoft Windows 2000, Service Pack 4. Installed software should include: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Service Pack 1 or higher, with 1024 x 768 minimum resolution"
    Doubt:
    - Does BAM support only IE 6. What about IE 5+ ?

    1. For better response, it is advised that we limit network hoops and have (if possible) clients and servers on same network domain. BAM will also work across network topologies.
    2. BAM only supports IE6+, definitely not IE5+
    Please engage a local Oracle representative for BAM deployment sizing. It is very important to share your sizing and deployment (perf needs) early on with us.

  • Replacing web.xml values with a deployment plan.  Not working on WL 10.3.2

    Hi All-
    I am trying to replace a value from web.xml with one in a weblogic deployment plan. I deployed the application on WL 10.3.2 and used the deployment plan below. No matter what I do it doesn't seem to want to take the value.
    web.xml:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">

    <context-param>
    <param-name>TokenGroup</param-name>
    <param-value>oldvalue</param-value>
    </context-param>
    </web-app>
    Deployment Plan:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <deployment-plan xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/deployment-plan"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/deployment-plan http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/deployment-plan/1.0/deployment-plan.xsd"
    global-variables="false">

    </variable>
    </variable-definition>

    /web-app/context-param/{param-name="TokenGroup"}/param-value
    /web-app/context-param[param-name="TokenGroup"]/param-value
    Any ideas why this doesnt work?

  • Deployment plan to update web.xml

    Hello,
    Is it possible to use a deployement plan to update the web.xml file of an war inside an ear ?
    I would like to map a servlet on a new URI using a new workmanager by configuration (I mean once my application is built) I suppose it is possible to use the deployment plan to add a section inside the web.xml.
    For example, I would like to add the folowing section :
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>DummyServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>com.company.servlets.DummyServlet</servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>wl-dispatch-policy</param-name>
    <param-value>DummyWorkManager</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>DummyServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/myDummyServlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    Thank you for helping me on this point
    Best Regards,
    C.

    To my knowledge you can not add elements to your deployment descriptors, but you can change them, for example
    say we have the following ejb-jar.xml
    <ejb-jar ...>
        <enterprise-beans>
            <session>
                <ejb-name>Bedrijf</ejb-name>
                <env-entry>
                    <env-entry-name>something</env-entry-name>
                    <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
                    <env-entry-value>iets</env-entry-value>
                </env-entry>
            </session>
        </enterprise-beans>
    </ejb-jar>and we want to change the value of something. Now we can generate a plan.xml (for example by using weblogic.Plangenerator

  • Oracle BAM Plan Monitor does not start

    Hello all,
    the Oracle BAM Plan Monitor does not start in when I execute the start scripts.
    It tells my that the name of the service is invalid.
    Is there any possibility to check on the configuration for that service name?
    I have also checked on the event log of my Windows machine. There are a couple of strange entries coming from the Oracle BAM Engine:
    EventEngine: ADC Context exception ADC Server exception in GetUserGroups(): 2.
    ActiveDataCache: Caught exception while validating user NT-AUTORITÄT\SYSTEM: The RPC-Server is not available
    Maybe someone has a clue how to resolve this issue.

    Hi
    Are you using a valid user name and passwd to access the plan monitor?
    Did you set up a user called 'BAM' in your Enterprise Link? Normally this user will get created automaticaly while installing BAM. If it doesnt exist, you will have to create a user called BAM in EL with a blank password.
    Please follow the post installation document, that is having more details.
    Thanks
    Laj

  • Deployment Plan / weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:  Problem

    Hello,
    I am trying to use a deployment plan to override the principal name in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
    The deployment-plan looks like this (showing only the important sections)
    <variable-definition>
    <variable>
    <name>SecurityRoleAssignment_ejbRole_PrincipalNames_1</name>
    <value>MY PRINCIPAL 1</value>
    </variable>
    </variable-definition>
    <variable-assignment>
    <name>SecurityRoleAssignment_ejbRole_PrincipalNames_1</name>
    <xpath>/weblogic-ejb-jar/security-role-assignment/[role-name="View-Role"]/externally-defined</xpath>
    <operation>replace</operation>
    </variable-assignment>
    The security-role assignment in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml looks like this:
    <security-role-assignment>
    <role-name>View-Role</role-name>
         <externally-defined/>
    </security-role-assignment>
    I 've tried to override the element-value of <externally-defined> (a valid tag in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml ) with help of a deployment-plan.
    When trying to deploy my application (which is organised in the directory-structure: inst_dir/APP inst_dir/PLAN
    the following error occurs:
    VALIDATION PROBLEMS WERE FOUND problem: cvc-complex-type.2.4a: Expected element 'principal-name@http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0' instead of 'externally-defined@http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0' here in element security-role-assignment@http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0:
    This has surprised me, as externally-defined is (according to the documentation) a valid tag.
    I have tried to replace <externally-defined> with an empty <principal-name> tag (which works fine when deploying the application), but causes a security exception, when trying to use the EJB.
    Has anybody an idea if there is a workaround for this problem?
    IMHO the Validatio Problem is not justified at this place then why should an otherwise valid weblogic-ejb-jar.xml (when not using a deployment-plan) suddenly become invalid when a deployment plan is used?
    Thanx a lot in advance!

    This all seems very strange.

    Hi,
    I am using dcm.jar to programatically deploy a war file in the oracle 10g app server but i am getting the following exception i am able to see this class in dcm.jar .I was able to start/stop a component using the same dcm.jar.Can someone please help me how to resolve this as this is very critical for my work to proceed.Thanks In Advance
    ADMN-300023

    Root Cause: oracle.ias.sysmgmt.deployment.j2ee.xml.WarStdXml

    For sure you are missing a library as the 'Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.j2ee.ws.server.WSForwardServlet' error tells.
    You can use 'Tools'->'Manage Libraries' and paste the class name into the search field, search for it and see all libraries which contain the missing class. Add this (one of them) to the projects libs and it should work.
    Make sure you deploy to a server which is set up with the correct adf runtime libs (11.1.1.5.0 means you need a WLS 10.3.5 server).

    1. I have a BAM 10.1.3.4 installation and a IBM Webspehere MQ client V6.0 installed in the same server
    2. Have configured JmsAdmin appropriately to have a Topic Connection Factory and a Topic Pointing to a Queue in the Server
    3. Have tested the client connectivity using ivtRun and MQIVP.class, they seem to work fine connecting to the channel and the topic.
    4. I have configured an EMS for IBMWebSphereMQ in BAM with the below given parameters
    Name:      BPEL_TO_BAM
    Owner:      AMERICAS\Jai_Mani
    Created:      12/1/2009 2:07:48 AM
    Last modified:      12/1/2009 9:48:03 AM
    Type:      IBM WebSphere MQ
    Initial Context Factory:      com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory.
    JNDI Service Provider URL:      file:/C:/JNDI-BOSS-DAO.
    TopicConnectionFactory Name:      ivtTCF.
    Topic Name:      ivtT.
    JMS Message Type:      TextMessage.
    Durable Subscriber Name (Optional):      .
    Message Selector (Optional):      .
    Client ID (Optional):      .
    Name      Flow name      Type      Max size      Formatting
    rawData.      rawData.      String      40000      (none).
    5. I have a subscribe plan configured in to enterprise Link which has a EMSReceiever and a grid to display the messages
    6. I have the "run forever" flag checked in the Receiver and go a head and post a message in the Queue configured in the server.
    7. The plan does not display any messages in the grid.
    All configuration on the MQ Server and Client side are proper but BAM EL Plan is not displaying the data in the grid.
    Have also had turned on DEBUG on the servers and restarted BAM, they don't seem to throw any errors.
    Kindly advice, what could be wrong in the Plan or EMS configuration which is causing this.
    Thanks & regards,
    Jai.

    Is this working for you? What errors do you get in the logs (bam, EL)?

    If you're using OC4J standalone, use the latest available OC4J, 10.1.3.3.
    If you're using a manage OC4J, ie. Application Server, upgrade to the latest available version and upgrade your JDK. The provided JDK might be outdated.

  • How to map a resource-ref in Jdev11 deployment plan editor

    Hi all,
    I have a ADF/BC web application where the BC4J application module does connect to a JNDI data source.
    The ViewController project does declare the Datasource as needed resource in its web.xml:
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>jdbc/wlogDS</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    </resource-ref>
    Now i need to map that resouurce-ref to an actual data source that exist in the application container at deploy time.
    As already in JDev 10.1.3 the deployment-plan editor provided during deployment from JDeveloper does not provide any means to enter the deployment mapping for that resourc-ref (When clicking on the node (which is named resouce-ref - that becomes very confusing in case you have defined three resource-refs in your web.xml) the right pane shows a gray pane without any edit controls) So I cannot enter the resource-ref-mapping unsing the Jdev UI.
    My workaround in 10.1.3 was to save the deployment plan to disk and manually edit it, adding
    <resource-ref-mapping name="jdbc/wlogDS" location="jdbc/wlogTestEnvDS">
    </resource-ref-mapping>
    to the orion-web-app document for that webapp
    But in Jdev 11 the deployment plan file format changed (including some binary inline checksums???)and when doing exactly the same thing, the loading of the manually edited file into Jdev Deployment plan editor fails with

    So no chance here to add a resource-ref-mapping. The alternative way of specifying a resource-ref-mapping using the web-based deployment proces of the Enterprise manager is impossible because the 11g preview OC4j does not include an enterprise manger web-application.
    So how do I deploy the application correctly other that manually modifying the deployed orion-web-app.xml file in j2ee/home/application-deployments/earName/warName/orion-web-app.xml after deploying the app without a resource-ref-mapping? Because doing that step manually each time is quite annoying.
    Greetings,
    Thomas

    Seems i'm slowly answering my own questions :-) I finally got my RMI service, even using several methods. But ...
    It doesnt help me as the lookups are not done on the context classloader it seems. That means i need to add all my service jars to the global class path causing massive sealing issues with the war contained jars. Pretty useless. All the needed stubs etc are in the war.
    But as it seems that the web app needs to contain deployment site info (sun-web.xml) anyway, i could just as easy read my own web xml from the context and resolve the services myself. But i do wonder how this is supposed to work with EJB and CORBA stuff. The samples actually also needed to add stuff to the global class path.
    I'm probably not the easiest customer as i write this kind of middle ware for a living but i really like sjsws. It makes my own one partly obsolete as it is almost as fast and has all the fancy deployment stuff (in my case i use an in-house mobile agent frame work and agents that travel the various networks ) and infinitely easier to learn to work with and understand In case anyone is wondering i wrote Uhura because 1. i needed speed so it is a servlet based webserver and not a web server with a servlet module. 2. could not wait on ibm to fix bugs in webspere and we only used the servlet bit. 2. i needed full J2EE security and 3. i needed it to run on many OS'es
    That is why i still need the same war files to be able to be deployed in both systems as i still need my systems going on IBM iservers etc.
    Again i would welcome some feed back on such and related issues
    Cheers,
    Peter

  • Oracle BAM not starting

    Hi,
    I installed fmw 11.1.1.4 on 64 bit windows system.Everyting is working fine but while starting BAM managed server its giving error,
    "BamServer" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "/oracle/bam".
    Then I check oracle-bam (11.1.1) application in weblogic console and its not active state,while I'm trying to install the same its asking for deployment plan.
    Do anyone know where to get that plan file or point me appropriate link...

    Can you post the complete error info with stacktrace?
