Oracle EBS 12 - Required Itanium 64bit specific libraries
Hi,
I have installed OracleEBS12 on HPUX Itanium machine. I'm poring an application that used to work on parisc 32bit. But I have to port on Itanium as 64bit applications. I want to know if there are 64bit libraries available (or) if they just compiled the EBS product in 32 bit mode. Details below:
I got following error during my application linking to EBS libraries:
ld: Mismatched Data ABI. Expected EF_IA_64_ABI64 but found None in file /oracle/oracle/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/lib/libfnd.a[afpdon.o]
Fatal error.
But I found that all 12.0.0 library files are 32 bit:
# pwd
/oracle/oracle/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/lib
# file adconv.o (for instance I'm taking one object file. It shows 32bit compiled)
adconv.o: ELF-32 relocatable object file - IA64
But Oracle Component seems 64bit:
# file /oracle/oracle/db/tech_st/10.2.0/bin/lsnrctl
/oracle/oracle/db/tech_st/10.2.0/bin/lsnrctl: ELF-64 executable object file - IA64
Any help hightly appreciated!!!

Migrating Oracle EBS 11i to Linux OEL 5 64bit
Hello Experts!
My company is planning to migrate our EBS 11iR2 to Linux 5. Please someone can tell me what will be a good step to start. We are on Oracle Database 9iR2 and it is on Sun 32Bit OS same as Middle Tier.
We want only Middle Tier to be migrate as first steps to OEL 5 64bit OS, and keeping running the Database on Sun 32bit. Please tell me, if it is possible to run Oracle EBS 11iR2 on OEL 5 64bit and Database 9iR2 on Sun 32bit?
Thanks

Oracle EBS 11.5.10 Sales Specific Dashboards.
Hi All,
After completing a successful load of "Oracle 11.5.10 Enterprise Sales", I expected to get data in the Sales Dashboard. Instead I am getting data in the Supply Chain and Order Management dashboards.
The Sales Dashboard is giving an error "Table or View does not exist" for the table W_REVN_F. Is this an error or is the Sales Dashboard not meant for Oracle 11.5.10 Sales.
Is there some document that lists which dashboards will display data for which ETL plans?
Thanks,
NilanshuHi,
The Sales dashboards in Oracle BI Apps source their data from Oracle Siebel Sales, hence the no data found error.
View the documentation library for Oracle BI Apps; (http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/bi_apps.html)
In the Getting Started section, there is a document entitled 'System Requirements and Supported Platforms';
Within that document, refer to the 'Supported Source Systems' section;
This section lists what BI Apps dashboards are available for Siebel CRM, Oracle EBS, and PeopleSoft Enterprise applications.
For Oracle Sales 11.5.10, only the Daily Business Intelligence (DBI) dashboards are available currently, and the DBI for Sales license is bundled in with your EBS license.
Hope that helps! -
Requirement for installing Oracle EBS on virtual environment
Hi
I have a server with oracle Linux 5. We have the requirement to install oracle EBS 12.1.3 in a virtual environment.
for which I have downloaded the VM template files for x86-64 processor as matched to my server configuration.
So how should I go with visualization.I have checked a few things over the net which says about Oracle virtual box, oracle virtual Server, oracle virtual manager.
I am in confused state what to consider to do visualization.
first time I am handling this visualization in my career.
Thanks,
Charan

Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 Installation Steps
Although this is by no means exhaustive or the most accurate, all contributions and/or corrections are welcome
As I attempt to reply the numerous calls and emails I have been getting, firstly sorry guys, I have been settling down at a new job, and haven’t had time to locate my implementation notes, however find below the steps I followed with a successful result.
Installing Oracle E-Business (EBS) Release 11i (version 11.5.10.2)
Linux Installation – SLES 9 Rel 1
• Please follow these instructions – I could not have written a better set of instructions :
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/16009.html
NOTE: Although this is written for SLES 9.1, I believe this will work for any Linux variant.
Also, make sure you have installed openmotif 2.0 or higher to make sure the forms server starts and remains running
Windows 2003 Server SP 1
Environment:
Windows 2003 Server was installed as an environment on VMWare Server (The free one).
Hardware Spec:
P4 800 Mhz CPU
2GB (Physical RAM) and 1GB (Virtual RAM)
250 GB (Physical HDD), 120GB (Virtual HDD)

At this point I have to say a few things:
1. I have not attempted installing on any other version of Windows, so if you try with another version, I may not be able to answer your questions, although I believe it should not be any different.
2. I would believe you can or have access to the internet and can download or find most of the resources needed.
3. I would assume you have installed the Windows 2003 Server with SP 1, Internet Explorer and Outlook. Also, have included an IP address, a server name with its domain extensions in the host file.
4. I would assume that you have created one group – dba , two users applmgr and oracle and included them in the dba and administrator groups
5. I would assume that you are at least familiar with the terms and usage of abbreviations in this sort of environments.
6. I would also assume you have reviewed and have made allowance to meet the required specification in terms of hardware (I did not attempt an installation on the USB HDD, so may not be able to help, if this applies to your situation)

Prepare Environment
Download and have read the following software:
1. Java Development Kit 1.3 (or higher version)
http://java.sun.com/downloads/index.html
2. Active Perl – This is needed for the staging script adautostg.pl http://www.activestate.com/store/productdetail.aspx?prdGuid=81fbce82-6bd5-49bc-a915-08d58c2648ca
3. Visual C++ - This is needed for many of the real-time code compilation
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/download/
4. CYGWIN
http://www.cywin.com/setup.exe (Free open source, never expires!)
OR
MKS Toolkit (Evaluation copy, 30 Trial or get a licence for about $500)
http://www.mkssoftware.com/eval/
This is necessary for certain unix-only available utilities required to implement/compile Oracle E-business Suite, such as which, make, cc, etc.
5. The DVDs or downloaded zipped copy of the entire Oracle E-Business Suite software for Windows 32-Bit ( I did not attempt on a 64-Bit processor, though I believe it should not be different, but see the necessary documentation if that is your situation)
http://edelivery.oracle.com
6. Jinitiator – This is required to run the forms on your system (Although a first attempt to view any of the form interfaces downloads and requests this be installed first) http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/devlic.html?url=http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/developer/htdocs/jinit.htm
NOTE:
• DO NOT Install into the default directories and do not allow spaces in file directories/path when installing the software, somehow experience has shown that the Oracle EBS does not handle spaces in file directories well, and results in untold hardship if ignored. E.g Default installation folder for an software installation may suggest C:\Program Files\ JDK 1.5, MAKE SURE you alter this to something like C:\JDK15. DO THIS FOR ALL SOFTWARE INSTALLED
• After each software installation, please reboot the system before installing the next piece.
• Make sure that all the paths to the bin folders for all software installed is included in the environment variables, and verify by typing path in the command prompt to display all paths listed
• If using CYGWIN (like I did, as I could not afford a software expiring on me nor could afford $500 for a test). You may choose all the modules available, but you do not need all (it will be an overkill to have the entire unix utilities and libraries on your windows box, unless you plan on learning unix commands or into heavy development requiring a unix environment, without wanting a unix machine) MAKE SURE you choose all the library options, all the development options and that should be OK. Then confirm after the installation by typing which, cc (or gcc), make(gnumake), ls, gawk(awk), grep (egrep) (IMPORTANT:Where one of the other in brackets exists, copy and rename the copy as the alternative). As a double sure – copy all of these into C:\Bin directory.
• If the Oracle EBS is downloaded, unzip all the files into the folder and ignore any suggestions that it will over-write other files such as the component.label files
Installation Proper
• Run adautostg.pl – which you will find in the StartCD i.e the first file downloaded and unzipped. This will attempt to rearrange the installation files in the order in which the installation wizard – rapidwiz prefers and identifies the folders. (Saves you hand-holding the wizard by having to interact during the installation, pointing it to the relevant folders/files if not run) to create the staging area.
• Run Rapidwiz – either by double clicking the rapidwiz.cmd in the startcd folder (this would be the one in the staging area) or from the command prompt
• As required, point rapidwiz, to the bin folder of cygwin e.g C:\cygwin\bin (if this is as installed) in the place where it requires the MKS Toolkit
• Pre-installation Checks – rapidwiz intelligently tests all the necessary software and requirements before installation starts. A corresponding message to each parameter suggests the opinion of the rapidwiz whilst a green tick indicates the parameter is sufficient, other indicators may need reviewing. Please make sure you resolve each issue before progressing with the installation. This may lead to a waste of time if not resolved.
• Choose a single-node installation
(if just testing or practicing, you may also choose a multi-node if this is what you want.)
• If all the modules are not needed (I installed all), you may have to choose which modules you require, and state where you want the modules installed.
• Assuming all parameters are passed and installation begins, the different stages of the installation steps can be followed by the on-screen messages or log file reviews (each logfile directory will be displayed on the screen during the installation of each context).
• Post Installation Checks – Rapidwiz does some checks after an installation, whether successful or not, and provides a report. When an installation is successful. It confirms and provides the url to login. The default username and password for the system administrator is usually sysadmin / sysadmin. You are encouraged to create another user immediately.
For all who asked, depending on how far up your hardware scales in terms of specifications, the installation may take about 3 hours (at least mine did) or more.
Login on to Oracle EBS !
The URL required for logging on to the OAM (Oracle Application Management - For the Apps DBAs) and OEBS (Oracle E-Business Suite - essentially for the Functional Implemeters/Consultants ) - The entire gamut (They are shown as hyperlinks), should be as follows;
http://hostname(servername.domainname.com):8000/
where hostname is the same as specified in your host file e.g servername.domainname.com or .whatever-u-like
and
8000 - is the default port, but you may have chosen your own port and that should be used in such a case.
N.B - The Forms server is often started when an attempt is made to access such an interface after login in to the OEBS. However, in my own case, it did not until I made sure openmotif 2.1 was installed on my SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.1. The windows installation started without any issues.
If all attempts fails….
You may have to try and try again by deleting all installation files and starting all the installation steps again. It will help if you know how to edit your registry settings to delete all reference to oracle e-business (not all reference to oracle though, as some odbc-related entries have been installed by Microsoft and require your registry settings to function)
Alternatively, send me your box, your mailing address and a token (money of course, and I may be able to set it all up for you) – JOKING!
CAVEAT: I will not be held responsible if anything unsavoury happens to your system in the course of you following the steps I have highlighted above either correctly or incorrectly. However, if you are successful, please sing my praises all over the forum and ask that I be rewarded by Oracle!

INSTEAD of Trigger View for an Oracle EBS New form development
Hello,
I am developing a new EBS form based on a database view.
This form is an EBS form will run in an 11.5.10.2 environment and developed using 6i.
The form has one data block that is based on the view. The view is joined and based on following tables.
Hz_Parties Hp,
Hz_Cust_Accounts
Hz_Cust_Acct_Sites_All
Hz_Party_Sites
Hz_Locations
Ra_Salesreps_All
Hz_Cust_Site_Uses_All
Ar_Vat_Tax_All
xx_custom_table t
The view is inherently not updatable. Therefore, I am thinking to write an INSTEAD OF trigger on the view. The question. The form which is based on the view is require to update Oracle EBS tables mentioned above. As you know, there are APIs available to update above tables.
Typically, you would write API in a program unit in the form and call from triggers. But here the form is based on the view. And to support DMLs on the view, I HAVE TO write INSTEAD of trigger(or that is the only way i know) so the question is:
1. Do I write these APIs under INSTEAD of triggers?
2. Or, I write these API in the form triggers and write DML referencing OLD and NEW values in INSTEAD of trigger? Where, these OLD and NEW values will refer on above tables.
Please advise.
And lastly, Do I have to write an INSTEAD of trigger? The USER_UPDATEABLE_COLUMNS view for this table shows no columns are updateable at the moment
Thanks,
AAs you know, there are APIs available to update above tables. No, I don't B-) You'd better ask this in the eBusiness Suite form, as this is very EBS, not Forms, specific.
In general, I would say that in this case you can use the EBS API's in the instead of trigger, not in the form.
Or you can base the form on stored procedures, not directly on the view. -
HTTP check RW-5001 - Oracle EBS 12.1.1 Rapidwiz on RHEL 5 VMWARE Fusion
Dear All,
I have been attempting to install Oracle EBS 12.1.1 Using Rapidwiz on RHEL 5 VMWARE Fusion for the past month, i have run through the install on a few occaisions now just to ensure that i have followed all the pre-reqs correctly and also set up the guest OS as described in several posts including (http://www.oraclenerd.com/2009/12/ebs-install-guide-part-1.html, http://gerardnico.com/wiki/ebs/installation and always refering back to My Oracle Support Doc ID 761566.1: Oracle Applications Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86-64.
I have installed (prior to running rapidwiz) the oracle recommended patch p6078836_101330_LINUX.zip and confirmed from the install that the Database listener and Database are up and running (checked by running the db.env script and running addbctl.sh and addlnctl.sh respectively). However, the rapid install completes with an error for HTTP, java, Login Page, Help files, in the post intall checks.
The error displayed for the HTTP check RW-50015: Error: - HTTP Listener is not responding. The service might not have started on the port yet. Please check the service and use the retry button.
I've found posts relating to this message, and proceeded to check the status and try and start the apps services manually; however, i'm experiencing another error message;

I'm not a DBA and i'm just starting out to learn how ebusiness suite is installed and how the applications run in parralel to the database. (my history of oracle ebs front end development and functional support)
I know there are a few posts out there within these forums that go into some details on what this issue may be, however, i cannot find any that specifically address my type of install and OS setup, and sometimes find it hard to understand the terminology and techniques used to diagnose these kinds of issues.
What i'm looking for is for some help in diagnosing and trouble shooting my issue, i will be happy to provide any output that is required to help address the issue and will be online regularly until i can have this issue resolved.
So, if you can help, please let me know where we can start.
Many thanks
SimonHi All,
Problem solved, although not on RHEL 5. I started over with a clean install of OEL 5.4, completed all the pre-reqs and applied reccommended patching, install completed fine, not experienced same issues with http. Differing install steps;
A) Selected different Port pool - 67 instead of 55
B) in OEL 5 when installing, if gives you the option to turn off SELINUX, which i compelted.
C) Checking the OS, i noticed the rpm versions were quite different (probably somewhat obvious, but im not sure if this had an impact)
Although, this was a fristrating set up, i have (i think) learnt a bit more about linux and installing ebs.
Thanks all for your guidance and help

Oracle EBS R12 implementation scenarios
Dear All,
We have below 3 different scenarios, please give your comments/suggestions; keep in mind client wants cheeper solution.
HP DL580 G5 servers will be used with 64bit Redhat Linux 5.0 on all scenarios.
Scenario 1:)
Oracle EBS R-12 implementation with RAC & Load Balancer
Required H/W - 8 Server (4 Production & 4 UAT / Development), Hardware Load balancer
Software - RHEL 5.0 OS
Licenses - Oracle RAC
Advantages – High Availability solution, Redundancy
Disadvantages – Specialized network administrator required for load balancer management, Complex System and costly
Scenario 2:)
Oracle EBS implementation with Active Passive mode / fail safe
Required H/W - 8 Server, 4 Production (2 active & 2 passive) & 4 UAT / Development as replica of production environment
Software - RHEL 5.0 OS & Cluster software on OS Level clustering
Licenses – OS Cluster from Red Hat
Advantages – OS Level clustering is cheaper compared to Oracle RAC
Disadvantages – 2 Servers will used as Passive will not be optimally utilized they will only come into play when primary servers fail.
Scenario 3:)
Oracle EBS implementation Dual tier (DB & APPS)
Option – I (Active + Active)
Required H/W – 2 Servers for production and 2 UAT / Development as replica of production environment
Software – RHEL 5.0 OS & Cluster software on OS Level clustering
Licenses - OS Cluster from Red Hat
Advantages – All the servers are optimally utilized
Disadvantages -if one of the servers fails you might experience performance issues as both application and database services run on one node till server that failed is brought live.
Option – II (Active / Stand BY)
Required H/W - 2 Servers for production and 2 UAT / Development as replica of production environment, 2 server of UAT will be configured for stand by
Software – Oracle data guard
Licenses – oracle data guard
Advantages – Simple configuration and easy to maintain when compared to RAC and OS clustering
2) Will not experience performance problems when one of the primary fail .This is achieved by shutting down UAT or test instances till the issue on primary server is addressed
Disadvantages - Sudden spike in load cannot be addressed since load balancing feature is not available.
Best Regards,Scenario 1:) Oracle EBS R-12 implementation with RAC & Load Balancer
When designing for "High Availability", this is quite a common infrastructure. It is pretty straightforward, though you are right, you need additional skills in managing RAC and Network. On the other hand, most larger companies have load balancers operational already. RAC may be expensive, however, if you want availability, it is what you will have to pay for, if you really cannot afford any downtime. Consider RAC when either of the following will be answered "No"
1) Can your customer really not afford more (unplanned) downtime than 20 minutes.
2) Is the maximum size of your hardware (single node database tier) sufficient to handle the amount of concurrent users in peak and will it be able to handle the expected growth for the next 12 months.
If either of the above questions answers no, consider RAC. Otherwise, one of the two alternative scenarios will probably be better.
Scenario 2:) Oracle EBS implementation with Active Passive mode / fail safe
This scenario requires additional skills as well: OS Cluster Administration skills. The main advantage in this situation is that the architecture in which EBS has to operate is quite simple. No clustering (EBS will operate on one db node and one appnode). Issues you might encounter: If dbnode fails, what will your appnode do? Will it have to be restarted? What about downtime in such a case? How much can you afford (see scenario 1). You will end up with some 'dirty' data in your database (concurrent manager). It might be necessary to clean that out first.
Another question to answer is how much do you trust your hardware/os. If it (almost) never failed on you for the past years, why would it be different in this situation. Having an active/passive cluster can be a costly architecture as well (half of your capacity being passive...)
Scenario 3:) Oracle EBS implementation Dual tier (DB & APPS)
Option – I (Active + Active)
I suspect you mean to establish a cluster that runs database package on node 1 and application package on node 2, each of them having the other node as failover node. In this situation, you will definitely encounter a performance degradation, but this can be managed by oversizing each of the nodes and/or defining a threshold for performance degradation and keeping this in mind when sizing the hardware. You would still need the cluster managing skills, though.
Option – II (Active / Stand BY)
This option will deliver you more High Availability, because this is a truly disaster resilient solution. Dataguard will duplicate the database, taking away the Single Point Of Failure(SPOF), which the database is in all previous scenarios. You should keep in mind though that the UAT environment will be affected by the standby database activity (not very much, but nevertheless). You will need additional skills, like Dataguard administration skills. I could argue about your statement that it will be easy to maintain, compared to RAC. However, like I said in my comments about Scenario 2, the operational architecture for EBS is quite simple in this architecture as well. Consider the implications on the application tier when your database switches/fails over to the standby.
Conclusion: There is no yes/no to each of the proposed scenarios. You will have to discuss with your customer to find out what the requirements are on a business level and translate them to an IT solution.
The solution should meet the needs for which it is realized and the people should be able to manage/maintain the solution. Additionally, the investment should be in line with the solution the customer requires.

Oracle Single Sign on Integration with Oracle EBS r12
Hello,
I am working on a project to integrate Oracle Single Sign On on Oracle r12. There is plenty of information available on Oracle Support but few inter-mixing and confusing terminology keeps popping up and I do not understand how all pieces together work. I am new to Oracle Single Sign On.
Here are few basic questions.
1. What is the difference between Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Virtual Directory and Oracle Active Directory
2. Are the terms Identity Management and Oracle Single Sign On interchangeable? What is the difference between two?
3. What is Oracle Access manager and how different that is from Identity Management?
4. What is Oracle HTTP Server 11g webgate and how different that is from a normal traditional Oracle HTTP Server?
5. What is Oracle EBS Accessgate? Why do I need it? On metalink some notes do not indicate use of Accessgate at all for OSSO deployment while some makes it look like required. And advise on above will help.
Thank you
DarshHi Darsh,
1. Oracle Internet Directory (OID) is Oracle LDAP storage solution (more here), Oracle Virtual Directory is Oracle solution that can read identity data (and filter it (mask it) based on policies) from Oracle/non-Oracle databases, Oracle/non-Oracle Directories and files and provide the user profiles as LDAP view (more here), There is nothing called Oracle Active Directory, you must be referring to Microsoft Active Directory.
2. No, Oracle Single Sign On (OSSO) is a feature in iAS (its obsolete), Identity Management is wide umbrella of solutions and concepts.
3. Oracle Access Manager is one component of Oracle Identity and Access Management suite of products.
4. Webgate is Oracle access Manager agent that is installed on a webtier, it intercepts the web requests and collect the credentails, send them to Oracle Access Manager for security evaluation (decide what Authentication is needed, verify collect credentials, etc), webgate then enforce the Access Manager decision.
5. Oracle EBS AccessGate is a java application that has the same use of OAM Webgate (it is OAM agent) but specific to E Business suite, EBS Access Gate is the new solution replacing OSSO agents, OAM is replacing OSSO server component, EBS and OSSO customers can use OAM server with OSSO agents, or with EBS AccessGate.

HRMS Analytics configuration for Oracle EBS
Hi ,
I have to configure HRMS Analytics for Oracle EBS(Referring Configuration Guide for OBIA 7.9.6.3) , I am new to OBIA :
I just started working domain Values (csv files), I have few queries for the same:
1. Is is necessary to Use the query mentioned in the OBIA Setup guide , to get the Domain Values. Can we use different query to extract the Domain Values ?
What is the effect if query is changed ?
2. Some csv are for 11i instance ,so does it mean , it is not required to configure those csv files for R12 ?
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
RaziHere are the answers to the questions:
1. Is is necessary to Use the query mentioned in the OBIA Setup guide , to get the Domain Values. Can we use different query to extract the Domain Values ?
What is the effect if query is changed ?
A: Not necessairily. The query is there to help you gather the relevant data but this is a functional exercise. If a HR Functional person on your team can identify the relevant domains, events, etc, then you can populate it manually. The goal is to get the relevant EBS domain values and map to the BI requirements. The query is a fast way to get the list of the existing values from the EBS DB.
2. Some csv are for 11i instance ,so does it mean , it is not required to configure those csv files for R12 ?
A: If the COnfig Guide specifically has a section for R12 versus 11..then you need to follow for the version you are on. However, there are general "EBS" configurations that you need to do for both versions. Rule of thumb, if it doesnt specific the version, then it needs to be done for both.
If helpful, pls mark correct or helpful -

WebSphere Adpater for Oracle EBS
Is anyone familiar with WebSphere Adapter for Oracle?
I am trying to use the WebSphere Adapter for Oracle EBS to create a Cash Receipt into Oracle EBS v12 and I am getting the error "ORG ID is invalid", even though I am specifying a valid Org Id. I have tried also not specifing the Ord Id parameter and it says "Org id is required". My EBS is hosting 3 Organisations. I wonder whether something else is required.
I am using the API ar_receipt_api_pub.create_cash
Has anyone used this adapter? Any tips?Duplicate post -- API HZ_CUST_ACCOUNT_SITE_V2PUB.CREATE_CUST_ACCT_SITE fails in R12
