Oracle EBS with Windows vista

I recently brought HP laptop, which came with windows vista OS. I can't go back to XP. Drivers does not support any other OS.
Did any body try installing oracle apps version 11 down loaded from oracle site.
Please advise me!!!

Oracle E-Business Suite 11i/R12 is not yet certified on Microsoft Vista.

Some notebooks of users (customer) has windows vista installed and it does not have access.

That is unfortunate and may now be dated. I recently bought a laptop with Windows Vista Premium as OS. At work, I did try to logon wirelessly to apps server. I could logon to the applications. But when the applet starts running, IE7 tried to download the JInitiator and it took a very long time to complete. Thinking it is in hung state and going nowhere, I closed the window and downloaded JInitiator from OTN. Installed it and then tried accessing apps. No luck. The browser restarts and goes back to the browser's default home page. The same happened with Firefox 2.0 also.
Finally, I tried Netscape browser 8.1 and after prolonged patient waiting, it worked. But did not work in IE7 and Firefox 2.0. I suspect it may be something to do with the firewall settings. I am now planning on uninstalling Firefox 2.0 and reinstalling it.
Bottomline, I could access apps via the applet using Netscape browser 8

Oracle compatibility with windows vista

I require which version of oracle is compatible with windows vista
and the links from which i can download. i tried 9i and 10g which are not compatible . do i need any patchs ....in windows ?

Currently only Oracle 10g XE and Oracle 10gR2 client are supported.

So what your saying is that if i really need to run
oracle9i on my vista home premium i should just go
ahead and dual boot my laptop with MS windows XP?You must use a certified OS, 9i has never been supported for windows vista, and most probably it won't be supported. If you want to install an RDBMS you should install at least 10.2.0.3.0, as stated on my previous post.
Vista would just be a host opertating system, in case of using Virtual Machine Software, if you are planning to install 9iR2, and use a certified OS as listed in the [https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/certify/certify.istore_welcome]Oracle Certify Matrix

Oracle8 Database connect with Windows Vista

Hi,
I have a Problem,
we have an older Oracle 8 Database, an my problem is, I want to install an Oracle Client on Windows Vista.
Whitch Client works under Vista and works with Oracle 8???

What is Oracle 8 in your case? It ranges from 8.0.x until 8.1.7.4. The same for 10g, that's not a database version,but a marketing label. We have 10.1.x.x to 10.2.0.4 . Message says clearly your combination of 10g client and Oracle 8 database is not supported.

Is Reports6i compatible with Windows Vista?

Hi guys,
Currently were using Windows XP as our OS and Oracle Reports6i for our reports. But we have encounter this problem when three of our PC's here was upgraded then used the WIndows Vista. When they started using our system then execute the report its not working anymore. What do you think the cause of this problem?..Is ORACLE Reports6i compatible with Windows Vista?

Install Oracle 9i on Windows Vista Home Premium

I have a problem Installing Oracle 9i on Windows Vista Home Premium, I cant install it because it throws me an error message saying that is incompatible with my version of Windows. It is possible to install it with some patch or something??

The only patch I know of is called Windows XP.
In case you have not done any internet searches on this, even Oracle Database 10g was not compatible with Vista until Oracle applied some heavy patches and re-released it.
And since Oracle9i is officially deprecated (nearest thing to obsolete as to make no difference) I see no reason for Oracle to backport the patches.

I bought new Laptop preinstalled with Windows vista Home premium. I tried to install Oracle 10g , but it failed.
Error: Oracle 10g doesn't support vista sp5. Should be less than sp5.

I am trying to install oracle 9i release 1 into a laptop running windows vista. the installation is very very slow and terminate with an error.
Is Vista not compatible with oracle 9i? What if i install oracle 10g in windows vista?

Windows vista doesn't seem to be worried about old software, and oracle doesn't seem to be worried about upgrading old software. Oracle 9iR1 is not supported for Windows Vista, the only supported and certified version is 10gR2 specific for windows vista (10.2..0.3.0). Just one advice about it. If you want to work with Oracle databases, it will be better to install it on certified OS's. Doing so, you will get better experience and more realistic experience on it.
Following the Oracle database documentation, you will get all that you need to successfully install the database in the certified OS.

Recognizing an iPod with Windows Vista

I have a new computer that came with Windows Vista. I have not been able to get iTunes to operate correctly for Windows Vista to recognize the USB connection to my iPod. Anyone have a patch or downloadable software suggestion to resolve this?

I finally figured I had nothing to lose--I'd just downloaded a new version of Real Player, which supposedly will work with iPods and Windows Me--and I let my computer format the iPod, hoping that would let it work with Windows again. Apparently not. Now it won't turn on--it's giving me the folder-and-exclamation-point icon. Resetting it didn't help, and I can't restore it because I can't install the software to my computer in the first place.
I suppose the only thing to do is borrow a friend's computer or something.

Ipod touch with windows vista

Hi,Im looking into geting the ipod touch,but I have read that the ipod touch does not work well with windows vista. I know the new itunes 7.5 just came out. Hey, yeah I have major problems syncing to Vista. The album artwork is assigned to the wrong songs or sometimes a chunk of the picture is not in the right place, some of my songs stop half way through the song then the iPod skips to the next song on the list. My movies periodically decide to crash and the only way to get past these spots is to skip ahead (which is very difficult on the iPod touch especially when the movie is long cause you dont want to miss too much) but yeah just letting you know that there ARE some issues with it not saying that yours will do the same but it might.

Error ~69 with Windows Vista?

I just purchased a new Gateway with Windows Vista to replace my Dell with XP. Ever since I purchased my Gateway, I am unable to sync any iTunes purchases or material imported from CDs to my iPod 30GB. I keep receiving the ~69 message "Unable to sync to iPod. An unknown error occurred. (~69)." Following this error, the iPod only seems to sync the songs that I've recently played on my iPod when it's been disconnected from my computer.
Is this a problem with my iPod, Vista, or some combination of the two? I do not see any songs that should be causing a problem, and my entire library synced with no problems on the Dell XP machine.

Unfortunately, I tried every solution on the page (including restoring) and it still doesn't work. I thought the problem was because of a bad video file that iTunes warned me to delete, but that doesn't work at all.
There has to be an issue with Vista. The iPod worked just fine on my Dell with Windows XP. As soon as I switched computers, it stopped working. What issues does iPod have with Vista?

Multisim 10.0.1 is compatible with Windows Vista, and this is a free update. Go to the Drivers and Updates page, and select your edition (Student, Educational, Power Pro).
