  • Databse Connector Error: 'HY000:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-06550: PLS-00363

Whenever I try to add a database stored procedure in my crystal report using ODBC connection in the 'Set datasource Location' menu, it asks me for the discrete value for the parameters I specified in my stored procedure(Except for the REF cursor). My stored procedure seems to be correct but there seems to be a confusion within my crystal report. Once the values are entered it ends up by showing the following error message and my database source does not get added:
Databse Connector Error: 'HY000:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-06550: line 1, column 18:PLS-00363: expression '01/01/2008' cannot be used as an assignment target
ORA-06550: line 1, column 31:PLS-00363: expression '01/01/2010' cannot be used as an assignment target
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    [Database Vendor Code: 6550 ]'
The only difference I am noticing is the REF Cursor is used in the Oracle SP. Whether the Crystal report can't differentiate my cursor or What could be the problem. Please provide me a solution for this
Note: The same is working when I change the database to any SQL
Seems to be the root cause for the problem is the parameters are getting renamed with the name of Stored procedure arguments once we change the database from SQL server to Oracle. Is there any possibilities to avoid this?
    Thanks

What is the first arguement in the Oracle  SP.Is it REF cusror or something else?
Also which ODBC driver you are using ?

  • Unknown Database Connector Error using Oracle stored procedures

We are using an Oracle database for the first time with our Crystal Reports, and I am attempting to modify a report to use a new stored procedure.  When I attempt to add either the new procedure, or to add a new copy of the existing procedure, I get an error message:
    Unknown Database Connector Error
If I remove the existing procedure first (leaving no database objects at all), and then attempt to add back exactly the same stored procedure that I just removed, I get a different error message:
Database Connector Error: '42000:[Oracle][ODBC]Syntax error or access violation'
Neither of these errors is particularly helpful.  The stored procedure in question works as is.  I can run it in SQL Developer, and it also executes within the existing report if I run it.  Unfortunately, it needs to be modified and given a new name, so I need to be able to add the new stored procedure to the report.
The operating system is Windows XP Professional version 2002 SP3.  The Oracle version is 11g (11.2.0.2.0).  Crystal reports version is Crystal Reports 2008 (12.3.0.601).  The stored procedure returns a refcursor.  The ODBC connection is created using the "Oracle in OraClient11g_home1" driver.  When I test the connection, it tells me it was successful.
If it matters, the report is a Saba report.
Can anyone shed any light on what the problem is and how to fix it.  If the solution is to upgrade the Windows version, that is under the control of our tech support and there is no information available as to when it will happen.

Yes - I had used the Set Datasource Location to point to the correct ODBC connection.  I get the same results with an existing report as I do with a new blank report.
I have no idea where the service market place is.  Honestly, I find the entire SAP site confusing.  I found one reference to the PAM guide, but when I clicked on it, it insisted on a userid/password, and apparently the userid/password I have for this discussion group doesn't pass.  I did find, eventually, a document called "Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 3 for Windows - Supported Platforms".  When I read it, it tells me that it's compatible with Oracle 11g, generic ODBC, and Windows XP SP3, which is what we are using.  I'm hoping that this document has equivalent information to the PAM guide.

  • Crystal Report throws Unexpected Database Connector error

    Hi,<br>
    <br>
We are using Crystal report 2008 CR4E API to implement the crystal report in our application. We use the below code to reset the report data source with our application data source. It works fine for most of the simple queries. But if the query contains any function defined in the SELECT Clause it throws Unexpected Database Connector error. As per the log and analysis we believe the root cause of the exception is it consider that function as column in the table and throws the SQL Exception that "function is Invalid Identifier". Could you please help in resolving this issue?

i'm also getting the same error when i'm trying to call stored procedure (that will fetch the result set and populate the report) through the query in the report-viewer.jsp. The result set is fetched i.e. when i print the result set it shows on tomcat but it is not getting passed to Table object to populate the report. However when i try to give the query explicitly in the form of SELECT statements, it works fine i.e. i can view the report in the browser. But giving query in the form of SELECT is a very naive way and is ok if u have too less reports not requiring too many joins, thats why i was using stored procedure. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Database Connector Error in Crystal Reports

    Hi,
I have a report which has two sub reports. One of the sub reports use a view to fetch data while the other uses a SP. Now the problem that i am facing is as follows-
The sub-report using the stored procedure fails when i execute the main report but if i first execute the sub report with the SP, and then again run the main report, it works fine.
I tried an ODBC trace to find out why this was failing. When the main report is run for the first time, the sub report was not executed properly. The sub report uses a SP which expects two parameters. So at the first run, only one parameter gets passed to the sub report. however on the second run, the sub report successfully gets both the parameters.
The error that is encountered says:
Database Connector Error: 'HY000:[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver][Oracle]ORA-06550: line 1, column 58: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ")" when expecting one of the following:
(-+ case mod new not null others <an identifier>
    <a double-quoted delimited-identifier> <a bind variable> avg
count current exists max min prior sql stddev sum variance
execute for all merge time timestamp interval date......
Could any one please help on this one? I am almost crazy trying to figure this out.

  • Unexpected Database Connector Error - Help please !!

    Hi,
I am trying to use stored procedure in the crystal report, that comes bundled with RAD7. The following code I got from http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/520 for using the stored procedure. I am getting 'UnexpectedQueryEngineError' on JRCCommunicationAdapter when trying to establish data connection to add the stored procedure to the report. I tried the same example above for adding table to the report by modifying 'Procedure' to 'Table' and it worked fine.
I really need to use the stored procedure in the report and get to have this working soon. Immediate help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Penchal,
What is the backend database? Are you using ODBC or JDBC connectivity for your backend DB engine?
Make sure to have the required jars for your connection type inside your applications lib directory.
Does it happens with all the reports?
What happens if you do not change the datasource, are you able to view reports fine.
As you are using Crystal reports for ecllipse runtime libraries to build your jsp, you would need to post your dicussions in the below forum to get better response.
    http://scn.sap.com/community/crystal-reports-for-eclipse
The above space is dedicated for the issues with crystal reports for ecllipse.
    Thanks,

  • Error in File (report server\ report.rpt):  Database Connector Error

New installation of XI R2 - using Crystal Reports Version 11.5.8.826 for developement against Oracle DB.
Currently have around 20 reports running on XI (need to import ~1500 reports from Crystal Enterprise 10, but waiting to resolve this issue)
Some reports sometimes (not always) get the following error:
Error in File (report server\ report.rpt):  Database Connector Error
If the report is re-scheduled, report will sometime run fine and sometimes gets the same error again.
There seems to be no logical way to determine which parameters will cause the report to fail or when.
I'm experiencing the problem on about 3 reports only - All against the same DB and only occassionally.  These 20 reports were developed with CR XI and all run against the same Oracle DB.

I've got the same problem- the reports run fine in Crystal, but sometimes (not everytime) they fail in InfoView with "Database Connector Error" message. My report doesn't contain any data, just 8 sets of 4 subreports in different footer sections, which each connect to a different stored procedure. The report is to help with our server checks: we have a set of 4 different stored procedures which run on each of 8 different servers making 32 different SPs and there is a subreport in this report for each.
It does seem to be random whether this problem occurs or not- I have scheduled the report to run regularly (1 recurring instance) and sometime it works, sometimes not, but always the same failure message. I have increased the success rate by allowing the report to re-try on failure, but this does take time, and isn't really curing the problem.
I wonder whether this error could be caused by a delay in one of the SPs returning its data, and the report timing out since no data is being returned. Would anyone know whether this is likely to be the cause, and if so how to fix it? Or any suggestions what else it could be?
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Using XA with Oracle ERP application

    Hi,
We have two Tuxedo Domains that we need to establish global transaction:
First Domain - Tuxedo 6.4 with Oracle 8.0.6 database.
Second Domain - Tuxedo 6.4 with Oracle ERP application (Oracel version 8.0.5)
A Client that calls a Tuxedo server in the first domain this service doing some work
on the database and then calls another service in the second domain (using Domain
    connection).
The service in the second Domain activate a Oracle API (package) from the ERP application.
The Rollback works but we problem with the commit. We recieve the following Oracle
Error - ORA-06574: Function "VIEW_ALL" references package state can not execute remotly.

    Subbu,
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, support for Oracle RAC has been
implemented in Tuxedo 9.1 and in the Tuxedo 8.1 and Tuxedo 9.0 rolling patch
streams. There are no plans to backport this feature to Tuxedo 8.0. If you
plan to use RAC transactionally and if it is possible for multiple services
that could be located on different RAC instances to be accessed in a single
transaction (which will be true for most applications), then you should
upgrade to a version of Tuxedo with support for Oracle RAC. The
    documentation at http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux91/ads/adorac.htm#248431
gives an overview of RAC support in Tuxedo.

    Hello Nadeer, Hello Ed,
Has the implementation of Tuxedo8.0 with Oracle RAC was completed
    successfully ?.
If it is done , I have few doubts. Could you please help me ?.
    1) I hope your Tuxedo middleware connects to the oracle Database using
Oracle XA resource manager and the TMS server built using buildtms with
oracle as RM .As per the mail from Ed, migration of Tuxedo9.1 should be done
    before moving to Oracle RAC.
Also from BEA documentation, Oracle RAC support was given as new feature in
    Tuxedo9.1.
Our Application uses Oracle RM to connect to Oracle DB[ Oracle 10g] from
Tuxedo8.0. So do we need to upgrade to Tuxedo9.1. for using Oracle RAC ?.
    Thanks for your help
    Best Regards

  • RKM Issue - Oracle ERP Table

    Hi
There is a table in the Oracle ERP System ie., Table Name : PO_HEADERS_ALL. When i trying to reverse engineer the table into the ODI table i came across this error.
    Issues : java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: com.sunopsis.dwg.SQLWorkReposException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "<Work Repository
    Name>"."SNP_REV_COL"."DEF_VALUE"
    Intial Analysis for this cause
    1. The default value of the paticular column gets stored into the work repository table SNP_REV_COL and the default value of the particular gets stored into the column DEF_VALUE. When verified the Datatype of the Column DEF_VALUE it is defined as 100 Characters
    2. verified the Source Column qualified for the Reverese engineer
    Definition:
    "ORG_ID" NUMBER DEFAULT to_number(DECODE(substrb( userenv('CLIENT_INFO'),1,1),' ',NULL,substrb(userenv('CLIENT_INFO'),1,10))),
the RKM is Unable to Reverese engineer the table because of that.
Is there any work around for resolving this issue.
    Satish

Alternate solution for this would be
Create a view on the table and import the view into the ODI and start using the same for loading the data into target
