Hello Folks,
I have a series of questions for anyone to respond.
1, Why "DO YOU THINK" could be the reason that Oracle retiring R11 Certification ? Especially when E-business suite is expanding ?
2, Will there be new track with a different combination of modules ?
3, How much helpfull is the OCP in OFA in practical life or getting a good job ?
4, For a to-be functional consultant, is it advisable to do Applied Technology Track ?

Hi! I had the same question.
Nobody was able to give me an answer.
I asked people who work in this field and even asked them to check with their friends. Nobody gave me an answer.
I even sent an email to Oracle. Larry was too busy keeping an eye on gates to respond to me. I called Oracle. Nobody knew or pretended to know anything.
So I came to the conclusion that this must be the most closely guarded secret, vital for our national security, since WWII. So I gave up.
If you had any better luck, let me know.
PS. One person did have a cynical answer. He said Larry competes with private individuals for services. A private person maybe happy to bill $100-$150/hr (which is not bad money for an individual) against Larry's much higher billing (which is not that high for corporations) . According to this person Larry wanted a little less competition for his boys.
I don't know if that makes sense, but that was the only comment anybody gavbe me so far.

    I install the oracle financial appliation and oracle 8i,
    it give following error messages
    " TNSLSNR.EXE unable to locate dll
    the dynamic link library orancrypt8.dll could not find path
    G:\oracle\bin............ "
    oracle financial application successfuly installed.
    I installed nt 4 service pack 6a,
    I start the " owsctl start wrb "
    " owsctl start admin "
    owsctl start <listener> already start.
    Please inform me what is the problem ? what step I am missing
    during running the oracle financial application ?
    How I could install and run the oracle financial application ?
    any one can inform me about the steps of installation and runing
    of oracle financial application ?
    secondly, oracle 8i is also not working, it give error messange
    tns error message.
    oracle financial and oracle 8i installed on separate dirtory.

    Well for sure the Documentation is really good. In addition to it, I would suggest that you should take up OCP DBA course from OU.That course will help you to get basic( and a little more than that ) knowledge of oracle database and its various parts.That will make up your base from where you can move ahead readind docs, reading astktom.oracle.com.

    Hi buddy,
    can anybody help me out to know about AIM in oracle applications with examples

    AIM is "Application Implementation Methodology" used to oracle e-business suite implementation. it give us a set of templated documents for each phase.
    The methodology includes a large quantity of documents and an approach to making the implementation successful. Part of that approach is the "gap analysis", and this word "gap" is not an acronym in this case, nor does it mean "General Accounting Principles". "Gap" only refers to discovering the differences (or gaps) between a client's current business processes and those processes offered by a vanilla Oracle implementation. Once discovered, the gaps should either be accepted or resolved. In some cases, the resolution involves customizations of the Oracle product, but if the client is smart, they will modify their business processes to use standard, vanilla Oracle processes.

    Hi Shahbaz,
    If you are trying to logon to Applications GUI and system gives you an error 'Invalid Username/Password' that means the Username and Password does not match. Create (In case User Name does not exist)/Reset the password for user you are trying to logon with.
    Else if you are using oracle back end username password to populate some interface tables you need to find out password for "apps" or any other oracle user that you DBA might have created.

    I need to customize Oracle Financial Applications Standard Reports (Balance, Journal etc...)(for GL, AP, AR, FA, CM). For example Adding some data columns or changing the label of the Standard Reports. What is the best tool to be able to do that and if there any specific training for getting this knowledge ?

    For those who did not know:
    The Data Diagrams (Data Modle) can be found in Oracle Applications Technical Reference Manual (one for each modules). For example, Data Modle for General Ledger Modules is in chapter 2 of "Oracle General Ledger Applications Technical Reference Manual". Getting a hold of the manual is another story all together.
