Oralce EPM Fails to install Weblogic on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

I've run the installer on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 and it fails to install Weblogic. I don't have MIDDLEWARE_HOME/oracle_common. Config tool log says missing jars. When I go back to install and choose products individually, Weblogic Server is gray. When I click on Weblogic Server, the message at the bottom says can not be installed.
I have checked that I have extracted the following assemblies:
Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installer, Fusion Edition Release 11.1.2.0.0
Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Foundation Services Release 11.1.2.0.0 - Parts 1 - 4
Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Additional Content Release 11.1.2.0.0
I have run this same set of files on another server and Weblogic was installed. Am I missing something?

I am not sure if it is your problem but I don't think R2 is officially supported, I did have problems with it when I first installed 11.1.2 so I installed with R1 SP2.
Cheers

    Hi All,
As per the latest available sapinst and the kernel DVS's the system does not come up in the Java stack/Dual stack. Fails at the stage Starting the Java stack/SAPJSF creation stage. This is due to the kernel issue as the latest kernel is not bundled as a part of the DVD.
You are opt for 2 options
    1. Stop the installation and the Bring down the system via MMC/cmd. backup the kernel and upgrade the Kernel with the latest Kernel available in the market place and then start the SAPINST. This would go ahead fine and the system would come up.
This is valid for the Dual stack and Java only system. In As ABAP the system get installed but the system would give dumps as soon as we log in so the Kernel upgrade needs to be done to proceed with the rest of the post steps.
    2. Follow the snote: Note 1480785 - Creating a Modified Windows Kernel DVD for not getting bothered with these errors while installations.
Hope this helps -- Further more SAP would be coming out with the new DVD's/Support for Windows 2008 R2 pretty soon.
    Thanks,
    Lijin Xavier

The reason these solutions all work is because previously these machines were WSUS CLIENTS, and thus looking to the (sometimes no longer present) WSUS SERVER to find the WSUS Dynamic Installer update.
By unlinking the GPO or moving the server to the Computer Container (not OU, btw), you effectively revert that machine to being an Automatic Updates client, and it can then obtain the WSUS Dynamic Installer update from Automatic
    Updates.
You can also achieve this objective by:
    1. Run gpupdate /force (to reset the 90 minute GPRefresh timer).
    2. Edit the registry and set the HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU "UseWUServer" value to ZERO, which also disables the machine as a WSUS Client.
From there you'll have at least sixty minutes (minimum GPrefresh interval) to install the WSUS Role, after which the machine will automatically revert back to the previous "WSUS Client" status -- which, presumably, is to be a client of itself.

  • Is it possible to install and run Windows Server 2008 on a Mac Mini Server in a Virtual Machine software like Parallels

I am wondering if it is possible to install and run Windows Server 2008 on a Mac Mini Server as a VM as my main application uses Windows VisualBasic and Fox Pro and requires a Static IP to connect to it, My other offices connects to Windows Server via RDP.
Basically I am researching a Server for the same purpose and since Mac Mini and OsX both are robust in nature it can fit the bill if every thing work fine.

  • Installing Flash Player 12 on Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 with IE 8

I have an app that runs on Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 that requires Flash Player 12. When I try to install Flash Player 12 it says that Windows Server R2 X64 is not supported by way of eliminating it from the list of supported operating systems. When I do a search I can find many people who indicate they have it running or explain "hacks" to get it running. Since the app requires it there is an implimcation that it should be running on this OS. What is the offical word on this?  This is a production server and I really don't want an "unsupported hack" running in this environment. Is there a supported means of having Flash Player 12 run on Windows Server 2008 R2 X64 with IE8 even if it is within the 32 bit version of the browser?

Server 2008 (x86) is supported, and I had an x64 machine set up last month that had FP12 installed and running in IE and Firefox. 64 bit IE wouldn't run it for some reason, but the 32 bit did. It installed in C/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash and C/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash, but I was unable to get the ActiveX plug-in to enable outside of 32 bit IE.
I also set up a Server 2012 machine that DID support the x64 ActiveX, but that's probably not an option for you.
Like you, I'd be leery of "hacks" to get it to run as an x64 pkug-in, as it may have unintended and undesired consequences in other areas.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 - Windows Update Errors...

    Hello,
I've a windows 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 server that I've applied Windows updates to this evening. A large number were successful, however there are 13 that will not install and keep on failing. I've run sfc/scannow which found and repaired some
errors - restarted server - no difference.
Please see windowsupdate.log output below (apologies for the length). I've tried installing individual updates from the 13 but it makes no difference and the errors are just the same. It seems to be the same error for each update although unfortunately doesn't
mean much to me. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hardware reserved memory in Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

I have 162 GB of memory installed in my Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit server.  However, it is showing 32GB is hardware reserved.  I've reseated the memory chips to no avail.  Any suggestions on what I could do to be able to use the 32GB
    of memory?

    Hi Everyone,
I realise this is an old thread however while searching for a solution to my problem related to memory being hardware reserved this thread continually popped up in my search results so this
seemed a good a place as any to post my answer.
I lost a whole day's production at my company so would have loved to find the answer quickly.
Firstly I am running Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise Edition
I have 96 GB of RAM installed and up until a routine scheduled reboot the night before all was running normally with only 60Mb or so in the hardware reserved list.
The following morning I was notified that no one could connect to any of the VM's that normally run on this machine.
Further inspection showed they were all stopped and that only 4GB of RAM was available to the host operation system, shown in Task Manager. Resource Monitor showed that all remaining RAM (~94GB) was listed as "Hardware Reserved"
I don't think it would have mattered how much RAM I had. All but 4GB would have been reserved.
After many hours on the phone with my Hardware Vendor and with Microsoft (paid support call) Microsoft recommended that I remove my License Key and Reinstall it again then reactivate.
Note: Not a single indication anywhere that my server was not activated or licensed correctly.
Actually no error messages of any significance at all.
Surprise, Surprise this solved the problem. I had found absolutely nothing about this problem anywhere on the net.
The Microsoft technician said there were other cases of this problem on their internal database.
The steps to remove and reinstall the license key are listed in the following article
KB FF793433 (for some reason I can't post the link)
The actual steps performed on my server were
    slmgr /upk (uninstall product key)
    slmgr /cpky (clear registry setting)
slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx (Your Product key goes here, dashes included)
slmgr /rilc (re install liencecse file)
    slmgr /ato (automatic updates)
    Reboot the Machine
I hope this post helps someone solve their problem quicker than it took me.

  • Windows server 2008 R2 x64 Authentication failure while try to access Windows server 2003 R2

    Hello,
I try to access Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard from Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 standard using integrated windows authentication . And because my application tries to read SQL server i'm getting and error that user is not trusted. Then I tried to open a
simple shared folder on  2003 and none of the users is able to do it. Both servers are part of common workgroup in the same IP range. Using domain is not an option. Migrating 2003 to 2008 is not an option either. The specific DB provider I have to use
supports only windows authentication, so creating user into SQL server is not an option too. I have tested many applications and cases which requires/uses windows authentication and non of the manage to connect.
Any help is very welcome because things are urgent!
    Authentication failure

That method in workgroup mode may be a problem.

  • EPM 11.1.2.1 Installation problem on Laptop (Windows Server 2008 R2 x64)

    Dear All,
I hope someone can help me here with EPM 11.1.2.1 installation problem on my notebook - Windows Server 2008 R2 x65, 8 GB RAM, running SQLServer 2008 Express.
I installed Hyperion Foundation. The installation and configuration went through successfully.
    I am facing two problems:
    Problem 1
When I try to access the workspace through the URL http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp, I get error:
    Quote
    Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
    End-quote
    Problem 2
Also, the service "Hyperion EPM Server" service not able to start. When I try to start, I get error message:
    Quote
The Hyperion EPMA Server service on Local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
    End-quote
I tried checking everything but can't seem to figure out what's going wrong.
I have uploaded (1) EPM Config Manager screenshot (2) EPM System diagnostic report (3) EPM Registry editor output and (4) system services listing at
    http://www.mediafire.com/?pr9l1v99w4d9u4r,c3vggxeibqkxbo2,lyzclu2aggbn8qh,8kur9gxal5b361z
It would be very grateful if someone can have a look and help me.
Many thanks in advance for any help / pointers / suggestions.
    - Neil

    Hi Pablo,
Thanks to your suggestion for database, problem #2 seem to be resolved. I am now able to start EPMA Service.

  • 64 bit Weblogic Server 10.3.2 installation on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 ?

    Hi,
I'm trying to install 64 bit version of Weblogic Server 10.3.2 on my 64 bit OS Windows Server 2008 R2 SP2.
Firstly I downloaded "jdk-6u24-windows-x64.exe" and installed it on my 64 bit platform.
I downloaded "wls1032_generic.jar" and try to install it by the command below
    "java -d64 -jar wls1032_generic.jar"
however I got the message below
    Unrecognized option: -d64
Couldn't create the Java virtual machine
Any options about this problem. Where am I making mistake?

    Hi,
You need to make sure the following things :
1). If you want to run your WLS on W 64 bit mode then You need to use Generic Jar installer Example: *"java -jar wls1032_generic.jar"*
2). The above Jar should be installed only using a 64 Bit JVM so that all the 64 bit libraries will be available with the WebLogic while installing it. So first of all Download a 64 Bit JVM in your Woindows box.
Then just run the following command to check if the JVM is 6t4 bit or not:
    set JAVA=HOME=C:\My64BitJDK\jdk1.6.0_21
    *$JAVA_HOME\bin\java -version*
3). Now u can run your WebLogic Installer like following:
    *$JAVA_HOME\bin\java -jar wls1032_generic.jar*
