Cannot open file it does not appear to be a valid archive
While trying to download Oracle 8i/9i i keep getting the message
'Cannot open file it does not appear to be a valid archive'
Can someone please help me with this
i have tried to download this 10 times already but of no use
Thanks
RimpyI was getting a similar, if not the same, problem when I used IE 5.5 to download the file. It used to start extracting then stop about 75% of the way through and dump some error about the archive being corrupt and not being able to open it. After installing Netscape and disabling the download manager application, I was able to download and extrac the zip files with winzip 8 and also winrar without any problems.

It compares this value with the one of the archive that you have in its machine.

"" does not appear to be a valid email address. Verify the address and try again.
I am getting this error whenever I copy an email address from somewhere and paste it into the 'To' field.
“” does not appear to be a valid email address. Verify the address and try again.
Whattup with that?
Only way to get around it seems to be either typing the whole address in (uh!) or clicking on the email address and letting Mail create the new message. Both are not the way I need to do things and it used to work perfectly in Snow Leopard, as would be expected for such a basic sort of command.I had the same problem with multiple adressess:
I used the " ; " as a seperator.
The message was sent with no trouble at all as soon as I used the " , " (comma) instead.
Hope this helps -
Help!! "This does not appear to be a valid Podcast URL" -- but it is!
I'm having trouble subscribing to the Vatican Radio podcast (English version). I recently moved to a new computer and resubscribed to all my podcasts. This is the only one that won't work for me.
I've contacted the Radio Vatican webmaster and he's confirmed I'm using the right URL - www.radiovaticana.org/rss/inglese.xml
But when I subscribe to it through either the iTunes Music Store or the iTunes "Advanced" menu I get the reply - "http:www.radiovaticana.org/rss/inglese.xml does not appear to be a valid Podcast URL. Please check that you have entered the correct URL and try again."
I'm able to download individual programs through the Music Store, but it won't take a subscription for some reason.
Anyone have any ideas? I've never faced this before.
FYi I'm using the latest version of iTunes on a MacBook with version 10.4.7.
MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.7)Plug that URL into a feed checker site, and you get a "mass" of errors. Pass that along to them, they need to fix these errors.

Does not appear to be a valid i tues library file.
I keep getting the following error message;
The file "i Tunes library .itl" does not appear to be a valid i Tunes library file. i Tunes has attemped to recover your i Tunes library and renamed this file to "i Tunes Library (Damaged) 23.itl"
any ideas?https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4406112?start=0&tstart=0

My Music Library is stored on an Optibay drive.. when i leave iTunes idle for a while, Optibay drive sleeps, corrupting the iTunes Library when it closes, i think. -
My computer crashed when I was using Itunes. I got everything up and running and got this message "The File “itunes library.til” does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your itunes library and renamed it to “iTunes Library (Damaged itl)” Everything loads up put in takes 10 min. then my music playlists are deleted everytime I turn Itunes on. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks.
Hi shyanne23,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If your iTunes library file has become damaged in some way, you may want to try recreating your iTunes library and playlists by following this article:
iTunes: How to re-create your iTunes library and playlists

Xml/itl-"The file "iTunes Library.itl does not appear to be a valid..
"The file "iTunes Library.itl does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your iTunes library and renamed this file to "iTunes Library (Damaged).itl"
does enyone know how to fix this for ever?
thanks.Katrina, created test, copied ITL (I Tunes Library file?) across, did the shift thing, I Tunes opens with my songs, created a play list, closed I tunes, re-opened it, play list still there. Is that what you mean?
I think I have some other issues as well.
I Tunes says 2477 songs/485 artists, my I Pod has 300 more.
Windows explorer suggests 589 artists (I keep library organised) I've lost the connection to the "movie" folder.
Also despite songs appearing in the library, they won't play in I Tunes at all. Fine on Ipod (although not docked since this started), fine with other media. players in same location.
Is this a nightmare where I have to delete everything & start again?

MBP, OS10.8.2, iTunes11
When i close the iTunes, and try and reopen, sometimes i get an error message the "file "" cannot be read because it does not appear to be a valid library file".
When i restart the computer it seems to be a temporary fix.
This started happening when i upgarded to iTunes10.7, and the problem still persists in iTunes11.
70,000 songs, so i really dont want to rebuild my Library.https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4406112?start=0&tstart=0

My itunes library suddenly that the file “iTunes Library.itl” does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has created a new iTunes library and renamed this file to “iTunes Library (Damaged)”. I use an external hard drive for my Itunes.
The library file appears to have been corrupted. You say you use your external drive but is the whole library on it or only your media? No matter, you will have to rebuild the library file:

Everytime I open iTunes lately...I get all my music thrown out of the library and this annoying message come up...The file “iTunes Library.itl” does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has created a new iTunes library and renamed this file to “iTunes Library (Damaged) 4”. Is this how an apple works? It doesn't? Why all of a sudden is it doing this? Please help. Thank you.
DavidDid you happen to bring this iTunes library over from a windows machine? You might read this kb article to see if it helps http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451

Every couple of weeks I get this iTunes error after connecting iPod Nano 6th generation. Then it deletes my whole iPod content. I am running Windows 7 x64 Enterprise with latest patches, iTunes 10.2.2.14 and McAfee antivirus.
I tried to reinstall QuickTime + iTunes, clean the system and then reinstall. But this does not work. I also tried to create a brand new library. But no success...
Error: "The file iTunes Library.itl does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your iTunes library and renamed this file to iTunes Library (Damaged) 3.itl."
Any idea?No I haven't. I tried almost everything possible but without any remarkable shift. I am about to sell my brand new iPod:(

Try to open itunes it says "itunes does not appear to be a valid music file
i've uninstalled itunes before and reinstalled it off of the internet and i try to open it and it says "the file "itunes library.itl" does not appear to be a valid music library file. itunes has attempted to recover your music library and renamed this file to itunes library (damaged)
Back up your music and then uninstall it; while the uninstallation process doesn't affect the library, other things can.

ITuneslibrary.itl does not appear to be a valid itunes library file
My computer had problems and I had to reinstall all my programs. I just had to reinstall itunes 8.0.1.11. I uninstalled itunes and after reinstalling and importing my songs backed up on a flash drive I now get a message stating:
iTunes file "iTuneslibrary.itl" does not appear to be a valid library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your iTunes library and remamed this file to "iTuneslibrary(Damaged).itl"
What can be done to restore everything so the error message goes away and all my songs are in iTunes?
Thanksactually I am having the same problems. it happened shortly after I installed itunes 8, however this also coincided with some music uploading. My problem is traced now through three different machines, all with the same mp3 library. However mine may be a little more problematic, because after I get this message, I quit itunes, then when I restart it I get the message about "itunes cannot run because of of its required files are missing. please reinstall itunes" Which I do and a few hours or days later I am faced with the exact same problem. I have tried re-writing my libray.xml file, re-importing library files, erasing all traces of itunes from my computer, installing on a fresh hard drive, and I even scanned all my mp3's using symantec antivirus, nothing appears strange. I am at a loss, and cannot find an answer. Does anyone have an answer?
