Order BoM Configuration

In our business we use multi level configuration, as a result, when we use CU51 to manage Engineering to Order details on Sales Order BoM the lower level configuration is part of the CU51 activities.
When we complete any actions in CU51 and save the order BoM, the lower level configuration is recreated on the date the order BoM work was saved.
Example:
Parent Material A and Child Material B - both configurable.
When an order is created for A on 01/01/14 the configuration for the A and B is saved in order change documents for each material with a creation date of 01/01/14.
Engineer completes Order BoM work 01/03/14 on material A, when Order BoM is saved the lower level configuration obtains new set of change documents for the configuration with a creation date of 01/03/14.
Any subsequent changes made using Order BoM result in the configuration being re-created with new documents.
Is there IMG settings or user exits or anything else that could possibly be used to keep the original date or use the date from CU51 initial screen?

Thank you for replies,
I checked it, in CU41order BOM was selected, it was configured the fert materials in MRP 3 VIEW, was also assigned the relation in CS40.
Still in CU51, I am not able to enter into sales order BOM. The error was - Order BOM processing not possible - owner MARC not allowed.
Here I am having 10 FG variants and 1 KMAT material, during sales order creation KMAT material will be repleced by FG variant by variant matching.
With respect to SD module TAN - item category was selected.
What about TAC, is there any diiference.
Or is it any settings I have to maintain.

But I am not able to do so, and I am getting an error as  -> Order BOM processing not possible - owner MARC not allowed
In CHANGE CONFIGURATION PROFILE(CU42) for KMAT material I had given  -> Order BOM -> result oriented- in configuration parameters.
Is there any settings is to be made
Please your advices will be appreciated.

  • Production Order BOM with Variant Configurable Material

    Hi,
I have a requirement to process the document items in the Production Order BOM for a variant configurable martial. I am not sure which Function Module will do this purpose. I checked the FM: CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 and does not seem to be working.
Can you please help me with a suitable Function Module or program that will process the Production Order BOM? Appreciate Your Help.
    Thanks,

What are you doing with the characteristics right now ?
If you want operations selected based on characteristic values, you need to have dependencies written just like you do (or in your case, will do) in your BOM components.
I understand the business-push to not do things 100% at the start and just "oh we'll add that part later" but I would really push back to get that part included initially.

  • Order BOM process- material vairant for configurable assembly

    Hi,
I am working on multi-level material variants with order BOM process. The configurable header material and assembly should be
replaced by material variants after configuration is done. I configured the multi-level BOM explosion at sales order. After I configured the assembly, I executed type matching and a material variant for assembly was found. But the system didn't replace
configurable assembly with material variant automatically and I couldn't find any functionality to carry out replacement. The header material was replaced by material variant in sales order entry. However, while I tried to carried out technical processing to
create order BOM (CU51), the error message shows that I couldn't create order BOM due to the header material has been replaced
with material variant. Does anyone have experience at multi-level material variants with order BOM process? Please kindly help.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,

    Is it correct ?
Check the configuration profile settings (  CU41 ) , did you selected the order BOM radio button

  • Copy Order Bom in Two-Step Variant Configuration

    Dear Community,
In Multilevel VC Order Bom Scenario. Configuration is made for the first level by sales department, then further levels are configurated by Technical Department.
If the sales document is a quotation and then we want to create de sales order with reference to the quotation, only the configuration for the first level is getting copied. All the characteristics of the lower level configurable materials appear in blank, as well as selected class items in quotation as well as manually added components.
Is there a way to copy the whole order bom of the original document or the characteristics value for every level?
    Thank you
    Sebastián Ligueros

    Hi Rahul,
Basically , an order bom doesnot explode therefore you cannot configure any of the components. Please review note 303446
By changing the default value of the variable GV_FORCE_BOM_EXPLOSION_ASL  in Include LCUKOFBE, you can force the  explosion of the order BOM in the sales order. As a result, subordinate items of the order BOM are configured provided that these items were not fixed.I
Therefore please set this variable GV_FORCE_BOM_EXPLOSION_ASL to  X and retest,
    Thanks

  • Configuration Profile Order BOM/knowledge based setting

We use Variant Configuration for some of our products.  I've noticed with newly created Config Profiles we are now getting the field Knowledge-Based Order BOM being selected automatically, even though we want to use Planned/Prod Order.  The odd thing is the "Order BOM" field is not selected, but Knowledge-Based is.  I'm suspecting this happened as a result of a Support Pack, but so far have not been able to get that verified from SAP.  Anyone ever have this issue?

    Hi Lynsley:
The same situation happens in our system
The thing is, when you donnot use "Order BOM", there is no related effects even though the “Knowledge-Based” is selected
So you can ignore it and go on with your work.
    Best regards

  • Variant Configuration - Order BOM problems

    Good morning,
I am having problems regarding the Order BOM in variant configuration. I have maintained the configuration profile as follows:
    CONFIG PARAMETERS
    Ordem BOM
    Result oriented
    Multilevel
    BOM application - SD01
    ORDER BOM
Maint. in order allowed - checked
    Automatic fixing - checked
I have also maintained a BOM, for usage '5 - sales and distriburion', with the selection conditions at the object dependencies.
When I test the results in CU50, assign all characteristics and push the button "Engineering" the icons for manual maintenance appear correctly in the screen...BUT when I raise the actual order, the icons are gone, therefore I cant add or delete items of the selected BOM.
Any ideias of how to fix that?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Sales order costing after changes on configuration or sales order BOM

    Hi all
Our sales order items requruire an sales order costing. This is done automatically, when saving the sales order item:
    Settings in requirement class:
    - costing: X (costing required)
    - costing-ID: B (automatic costing and marking)
This works perfect, means the sales order receives a caluculation that is marked.
Now, something is changed on the sales order BOM with transaction CU51
It seems, that each time you change the BOM you have to ensure yourself, that the costing of the sales order items (via VA02 -> extras -> costing) has to be performed manually.
There is no SAP standard process, that does this automatically.
    Thanks for your feedback.
    Pius

    Dear Pius,
System cannot take the changes from the BOM and execute the cost estimate automatically.
Need to refresh system when the changes are happened i..e need to execute the Cost Estimate once again.
    Kind Regards

Please see the all Details of Business so that U can give answer properly.
One is raw fabric (Raw material) which has to passed different process to convert Colored fabric as my Finish product as well I can sale Raw fabric also.
is it possible to maintain raw fabric and Colored fabric with same mat.code?
I have configured the material as well all pricing BOM, Recipe its working properly.
How can I assign the material to Operation? I am getting GRAY field in New Assignment in change recipe mode ..
Is it possible to use Material type other than KMAT? I want to use Finish material type. If yes How?
Right now I can create Process order from the Sales order but I am facing error in confirmation that Sales Order stock does not exist than I have to transfered stock to Sales order and error get solved temporarily but  I want to avoid this manual transaction to remove this error. Any configuration is required please inform.

    MRP Type : PD

    Order Bom selection in profile.
Strategy : 25 make to order for configure material.
How can I do ? please suggest any changes
I have only 9 months of SAP experience within short time I have gain lot knowledge from this site and other reading material as well my learning Learning thirst.
    thanks to all SAP gurus..
THANKS IN ADVANCE .... Definitely I will reward points even if my some questions get solved...
    Regards,
    Bhavik dangi.

    Hi,
You can use variant configuration for selling the colored fabric. Use the basic fabric as raw. and maintain variant configuarations to have many variants.
Please use strategy 25. When you run MRP the planned orders will be generated and will be assigned to the sales orders. You can see it on the account assignment tab.
In material master pleasse maintain Individual collective requirement indicator to 1-individual in the MRP-4 view.
Then the stocks will be reserved to the specific sales orders.
    Thanks and regards

  • Transfer of changed order BOM from quotation to sales order

    Good morning!
Please consider the following scenario involving variant configuration:
A quotation is raised in the system, and the values of the characteristics are assigned. Therefore a order BOM is generated (for the quotation), and that order BOM is changed manually using tcode CU51 (for cost estimates purposes). When it is saved, the system updates the BOM in the quotation automatically (ok, this is a desired behavior).
Although when we create an sales order with reference to that quotation, the newly chnaged order BOM is not copied to this new order, the order BOM is redetermined instead.
How can I make the system to copy it from the quotation properly?
    Thanks in advance!
    Adriano Cardoso

Thanks for the reply. I have verified this note and it seems more toward the BOM explosion in the sales documents themselves than for the modifications made afterwards (CU51 changes in BOM, for example).
After realizing that, I´ve made a little research and found the Order Engineering Workbench possibility, which seems to fulfill all our requirements regarding this point. I looked all over SDN and haven't found too much input about it. In the SAP VC book, says it is not part of the SAP ERP, but a add-on.
So, you don't happen to have any idea of how can we check if it is activated / installed  in our system or not? We are on version 5.0.
    Thanks!

  • Sales order BOM is not reflecting in sales order

    Hi Guys,
I have created a sales order in which all the items of the sales BOM (ex:A-a1,a2,a3).have been exploded. My strategy is make to order and i am dealing with valuated stock.
Now i have created sales order BOM for that particular sales order thro cs61.I have made some changes in the item level (ex:A-a1,a4,a5) in the order BOM i want these changes to be reflected in my sales order is there any way to do so...
    RAMASWAMY

    Dear,
You have to configure BOM explosion in VOV7 - item category settings - BOM area and you can specify whether it is a single level or multi level explosion etc., Depending on the configuration made here, the BOM explosion takes place in the order.

  • Purchase Requisition for Order BOM components ?

    Dear Members :
Can I generate purchase requisition for Order BOM components from VA01 ? Mine is TAQ - the header itm cat and TAE for sub-items (finished prod) . While navigating within Sales Order and branching to a particular component's shced. line - the pruch req col is blank. The schedule line cat for the sub-item is CT.
Could someone please explain the configuration steps I need to maintain for the above ? What I am expecting is when I save the Sales Order it should create Purch Req for the components which do not have enough stock.
    Thanks
    Atanu

    Hi :
Thanks for your advice. Couple of things :
    1. In my system in auto acc assignment, I already have consumption acc under posting key GBB. Now I am getting error in VA01 - which states that "The system was not able to determn a consumption acc for purchase order item with acc assignment" and also suggesting to address "GBB posting key". I made the following changes for CT :
        movt : 101
        order type : NB
        item cat : 0
        acc assignment cat : F/C
    2. Obviously SAP is expecting a consumption GL acc, which though is there under GBB-AUF from my existing setup. For generating purch req this is strange becoz I haven't yet gone upto PO generation step nor released the supposed to be Purch Req.  for BOM component - and this is before I save the Sales Order .
    3. In spro->acc grouping for mov type; I don't see the following combination in SAP  ie,
101(MvT) - B (MvT) - GBB (TEKey) - AUF. I need B instead of F which is already there and is for production order but the BOM comp has to be for PO but the combination is not there.
Do you think this could be the reason that SAP couldn't find the GL acc ?
    4. Also my purpose was not just to raise a purch req every time the sales order is created for the BOM components - only if there is shortage in stock - but then again for CT once I assign the above, it doesn't allow to check the boxes like Availbility , Requrmnt etc. (??)
Am I clear and could you please suggest me what I am missing or doing wrong ? What movement type do you siggest to enter in CT fields.
Thanks so much for your time.

  • Order BOM and routing allocation problems

hi all , im looking help on the following problem , we currently use configurable materials to manufacture product , currently when an order BOM is created for a sales order using a standard material BOM and for example a part is removed from a phantom assembly and reaplced with a new special part , what happens next is that withi nthe routing the full material unallocates from the phantom group and defaults to unallocated even though in the master routing the parts that were not changed in the phantom are still allocated in the routing screen under an allocated opertion number , the production orders when released to make the product are all incorrect and causing problems and the materials are having to be manaully allocated in the production order

Can you upload screenshots of before & after situation to some portal & paste the link here to be clear what exactly you refer to?
