OS-10.6 server - out-of-the-box

Does the normal OS-10.6 server installation include Apache, PHP4+ and a mySQL 4.2.1+ environment right out of the box?

  • I can't see the workflow diagram in the out-of-the-box proposal workflow in Project Server 2010

    Hello,
I created new project based on the template out-of-the-box proposal, but after that i can't see the following diagram ..

    Hi,
To achieve this you can use Workflow Visualization webpart from Project Server 2010 Solution Starter Kit from
    here.
    Thanks !!!
    Sachin Vashishth MCTS

  • After the in place upgrade from SharePoint server 2007 to 2010, the out of the box approval workflow does not prompt for additional information after check in of a major version.

I think it has to do with the interaction between Word, InfoPath, IIS, and /or SharePoint, but I cannot put my finger on it.  Maybe client integration or authentication settings?  I have looked at it in wireshark
and have not seen anything glaring.
Steps to reproduce the (working) behavior:
Set up a document library in SharePoint 2010.
Under versioning settings, make the following changes:
Set Require Content Approval for submitted Items to Yes
Select Create Major and Minor (draft) versions
    Set require checkout to Yes
Create an out of the box “approval” workflow with the following settings:
Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item.
I then create a new document. Save it.  check it in.  it is now version 0.1.
I then open it again. check it out.  Make a change. Close and save it.
    Check it in.
    Publish major version:
At this point a screen is presented to me to enter workflow parameters.  This screen comes up in Enterprise 2013 and MOSS 2007, but not the migrated version of 2010:
This is what I need help with.  It should come up in 2010.  To fix it in 2013, I had to change the IIS bindings to only have 1 entry for a port.  I did this for 2010 and it did not work.
Any help or ideas is very appreciated.  Thanks very much in advance.

    Hi Chris,
According to your description, my understanding is that the approval workflow cannot work when the workflow was set to start to approve publishing a major version of an item after upgrading to SharePoint 2010.
I recommend to check the approval workflow in Workflow settings of the corresponding library to see if the Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item is checked.
For test, I recommend to create a new OOB approval workflow and set it to start to approve publishing a major version of an item in the same library to see if the workflow can work.
    Thanks
    Victoria

  • Add javascript to Out of the box Modal Dialogue Box in Sharepoint 2010.

    Hi,
We have Sharepoint and Project Server 2010 SP-2 enviroment. We are using Project Server Timesheet for our managing Time logging.
Project Server 2010 has "Add existing task" Modal Dialogue box in which I want to add "Javascript" code in order to sort the Project Server Timesheet Line Claasification listbox control in Ascending order.
As you can see from below screenshot "Standard" the Out of the box timesheet line classification is coming at top and then our custom line classification coming.
But I want to sort this list in ascending order so that this "Standard line classification can come at the bottom of the listbox control.
Please suggest me how can I achieve this.
    Thanks much !!!
    Sachin Vashishth MCTS

Thanks SaiRam from input, I can get JQuery for sorting the control over the internet no issue. I have to pass the ControlId in J-Query to sor the items in that control and I am not able to get the control id as it;s modalk dialogue box.
Can you please explain further here, also let me know in case I am wrong in my understanding.
    Thanks !!!

  • Dynamic DNS (via DHCP) out of the box?

    Greetings!
I was just wondering... Does OS X support Dynamic DNS updates out of the box?
I can't seem to find any confirmation if 10.5 uses bootpd (which I think it does), and if bootpd supports dynamic DNS updates with the named service built into Leopard Server. There don't seem to be any options in Server Admin to enable this... So I'm a little hazy as how to enable dynamic DNS without compiling my own version of ISC-DHCP.
Just for clarification here; what I'm looking for is the ability to update a DNS zone with a PTR/A record(s) of machines that send a hostname as a part of retrieving a IP address from a DDNS-enabled DHCP server. Ie, "mybox" requests IP from DHCP server, DHCP server updates "mydomain.tld" with a record for "mybox", so that "mybox.mydomain.tld" is resolvable afterwards by the machines on this subnet.
    Cheers,
    -SC

This is a strange topic because implementing Dynamic DNS on Mac OS X Server looks like it should be child's play... so why hasn't Apple done it? Could it simply be that Apple sees no need for it at this time? Mac OS X clients don't need it to sit happy with a Mac OS X Server. Neither do Windows clients using a Mac OS X Server PDC.
Apple has implemented Dynamic DNS client support into the Active Directory Plug-in in Leopard. In this environment, of course, the client's DNS server is most likely to be an Active Directory-integrated DNS server which happily support DDNS. Unfortunately this Dynamic DNS facility is not immediately available to those not using the Active Directory plug-in.

  • Out of the Box alerts and messages.  Necessary?

    Hi,
I have installed Grid Control and I am monitoring a couple of Hosts and DB's and well, before I even did that I noticed that Grid had a whole bunch of Critical and warning alerts along with Policy Vioalations. Now I assume these are out of the box alerts and messages, cause some of them seems pretty dumb to me. I know we can change them to change the values but I just wanted to make sure if I should really worry about these or not? Are they really serious. Some of them don't make any sense to me and I have been trying to look online at places where I can find out what they mean exactly and how to correct them. Does anyone know how to. These messages are just annoying and I would like to log in to Grid and see no alerts or violations. Here are some examples of what I am talking about. Any advice or help is much appreciated :)
    Examples Alerts:
-51.55% of all processes are in zombie state, crossed warning (35) or critical (50) thresho...
-Number of Active Agents exceeded the critical threshold (1). Current value: 0
**This one seems dumb to me since I only have one agent on the server and the threshold is set to 1!!!!
-Metrics "Current Open Cursors Count" is at 1673
    -Target is in broken state...
**This one I would really like to figure out what it means. It is listed under the errors tab.
    Example Policy Violations:
-Critical Patch Advisories for Oracle Homes
    -Listener Direct Administration
    -Use of Hostname in Listener.ora
    -Oracle Home Executable Files Owner
    Thanks

-Critical Patch Advisories for Oracle Homes
Nice but pretty obvious - only need if you have a security policy at your company-Listener Direct Administration
Dont believe in that one ...-Use of Hostname in Listener.ora
Same with this ..-Oracle Home Executable Files Owner
Should be fixed .. a valid problem.

  • OIM 11gR2 - Out-of-the-box Approval Workflows

Does anyone know of any good resources that describes the out-of-the-box approval/provisioning workflows of 11g R2? I have searched Google back and forth but found nothing. Some of the workflows are obvious by their name (such as default/BeneficiaryManagerApproval!1.0), but others are not so clear regarding their flows.
On that same note, can one of the out-of-the-box approval workflows be configured to route to an approval group instead of single users?
    Thanks for your help!

Instead of searching for docs in google i guess reverse-engineering on your own will be the best way to understand the approval workflows. Navigate to OIM_HOME/server/workflows/composites. It will contain all the approval workflow zip files. Unzip the required one which you want to understand and there will be a .jws file in it. Now open that in jdeveloper and open AprrovalProcess.bpel and composite.xml. It will show how the approval routes and what are the business rules written, everything. It is the best way to understand the approval workflows.
In the same way u can make changes to the out-of-the-box approval workflows also. See this OBE tutorial to understand how you can assign the approval to a group
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/oim/oim_11g/Request_Workflow_for_Self_Registration/request_workflow_for_self_registration.htm
Also please try the approval workflow given in the developer's guide which covers most of the basics.

  • JSP Compilation Error when using OC4J out of the box

    Hello.
After installing Java jdk 1.5.0_05, setting ORACLE_HOME, setting JAVA_HOME, rebooting, and installing OC4J standalone straight out of the box, I have deployed a simple web project that consists of just one JSP. I receive the following error message:

I have deployed a number of Flex2 applications without incident. What am I missing here? Another odd thing is that my organization has OAS running and it can render JSPs fine.
    Any help is appreciated thanks,

P.S. I have gone back and set the JSP debug switches, but they do not yeild much more info. Here is the stacktrace:

I had the very same Problem, and I spent a lot of time on it.
When installing Oc4j as a service using Javaservice opnesource, I had no problem, even using J.D.K 1.6:
    %JSEXE% -install %JSNAME% %JVMDIR%\jvm.dll -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -Djava.class.path=%OC4J_HOME%\oc4j.jar -start oracle.oc4j.loader.boot.BootStrap -params -config %OC4J_HOME%\config\server.xml -out %OC4J_HOME%\log\OC4J_service_stdout.log -err %OC4J_HOME%\log\OC4J_service_stderr.log -current %JSBINDIR% -auto -description OC4JService
Then I wanted to install it using "ServiceMill" or "Javaservice Wrapper", becuase it has a better control on the process and I had that awfull compilation error.
I guess it is because ServiceMills uses java.exe and javaservice the .dll to launch the oc4j, no idea.
    Anyway, thank you very much!!!!!

  • Why Java Web Start doesn't support Pack200 out-of-the-box?

    Hello All,
Why Java Web Start doesn't support Pack200 out-of-the-box? I was hoping that Java 6 would make things easier by adding direct support for Pack200 in Java Web Start and JNLP without needing to use servlets, etc.? All my clients are Java 5 or above so I can't push the Pack200 compressed version of the jar to every single one of them and there is no selection process needed. But I can't do it because of the servlet or complex Apache server setup requirement (it would be a headache to get customers' web server admins to set up Apache or whatever web server that way).
My question is why is there unwillingness to add Pack200 support directly to Java Web Start and JNLP so that you can start Pack200 compressed jars just like you would start any jar using Java Web Start? Is te a technical problem?
    Thank you,
    Mete Kural

    Hallo,
I didnt try it, but the webstart FAQs read:
Can I use Pack200 compression with the JnlpDownloadServlet?
Yes. The JnlpDownloadServlet distributed in the samples directory of the JDK now supports Pack200. If you deploy yourfile.jar along with yourfile.jar.pack.gz the packed file will be downloaded when the client is running Java Web Start 1.5.0 or later.
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/javaws/developersguide/faq.html#217
For further information you may want to look at
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/javaws/developersguide/downloadservletguide.html#pack200
The configuration of the server and the the servlet (as described in the second link) is as easy as it seems.
I got it working on the first try and it was my first experience with websevers at all.

  • Security out of the box?!

Just wondering how the archlinux security is out of the box?.
Lets say you have a laptop, instal arch and fire up x and some basic applications! (know the penetration can come from any installed application).
Or having a newly installed arch computer/server facing the internet?
How secure is this, whats ports are opened up by default and so on!

cactus wrote:I imagine that qualifies as 'secure'.
    Secure, but functionless
As mntioned, the base install is pretty much very secure, but relatively useless until you start installing things, so it really comes down to what you install, and how you secure it.

  • Oracle 10g "Out of the box"?

    Hi all,
I have a banal question. Is there a possibility, to run an Oracle database server (10g) completely in one local directory, without any installation efforts, just like MySQL inside a XAMPP package?
    http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html
If there really is a method of resolution I would like to use an ubuntu-linux.
    Thx & Greetings
    lemon

Thank you for quick answering. I thing, Madrid's solution would be the best. When I mentioned Ubuntu, I thought of trying out my "out of the box"-System on that distribution. Generally it should run on every linux. So, usage of an rpm-Package would be limiting.
Finally, I need that local Oracle database for storage for an demonstrative version of an collaboration system. And it would be handy to have just one directory, that can be removed after the "demonstration" ends. With other words: The installation process should be as uncomplicated as possible.
    Thanks & Greetings

  • Error 2032 out of the box

I just installed the Adobe Media Server on my Windows 7 local machine
On the welcome page, I'm getting error #2032 on every video except the "Single Bitrate" one.
I've tried the crossdomain.xml fix, and that didn't work.
I looked for previous versions of Apache to check for port conflicts, and didn't find anything.
It's frustrating that this doesn't work "out of the box"
I've previously had Red5 installed, but I uninstalled that before installing AMS.

    Hi
Can you post the set level manifest you created for multi-bitrate streams?
Also, I hope yoy are on OSMF 1.6+

  • Logging in ifs and renderering capabilities out of the box

    Hello there
Just wondering if anybody could clarify/confirm a few things for me...
I'm currently trying to use 9ifs as a 'conversion' engine. I have an XML file within a 9ifs repository that I wish to transform using an xslt when I retrieve it.
Does 9ifs contain out of the box functionality to perform this? If so, how do I use it or do I need to write a custom renderer to perform the tasks that I have specified?
I have had a play with the SimpleXmlRenderer however have not been able to find any solid examples of how to use it nor do I know whether it is possible to use it to specify the xslt that will perform the transformation.
I have also heard that 9ifs has an inbuilt 'logging' capability - ie it can keep a record of files that have gone in to 9ifs or gone out. Is this also true and how would I use it?
Finally, I have heard that one of the capabilities of ifs is that it provides 'transactional' support in either putting files into the repository or taking files out - ie a file is either there or it is not, there is no in between, corrupt file state. Can anybody shed any light on this as to whether it is true or not?
    Jason

The CMSDK does not include any out-of-the-box XML transformation capabilities, but it is very easy to code XML/XSLT transformations using Java, and I believe Internet Explorer has built-in support for it, so one could consider that built-in functionality. You could write your own servlet to perform any kind of transformation you wish on any file in the CMSDK, and serve up the resulting file via HTTP, for example.
The CMSDK is extensible and configurable in a way that could allow you to keep track of files uploaded and downloaded into the instance. You can write custom code and plug it into various extensibility points which allow you to modify default behavior or extend it to include custom operations. See the developer's guide and the javadoc for more details.
The CMSDK is a transactional object store -- it is true that files can be uploaded and modified within a transaction, and completely rolled back in case of failures.
