OS 10.9.4 - After update, network interfaces don't work. Other personalisation features also seem to be corrupted.
OS 10.9.4 update on my Mid 2011 iMac seemed to run to completion correctly. On rebooting, the ethernet and wifi networking would not work. Some other personalisation features were also corrupted (fast user switching, time machine). Basic local functions were OK. I could restore from a 10.9.3 backup, but any ideas about how to install the 10.9.4 update correctly?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

After update airport interface doesn't work when security is enabled
Hi all.
After update of Leopard to v.10.5.2 wireless stop working. As I discovered wireless without security are working, but when I apply any secure methods (wpa,wpa2,wep) airport adapter can't connect to router though I can see available networks. My wireless router is ZyXel p-600 series (P660HTW2EE). I installed last update of airport. Nothing changes.
1) Any idea about how to resolve the trouble?
2) How could I see detailed log of airport about troubles during connections?
3) Where are located config files which save passwords and other settings for wi-fi networks?

Use spotlight or, go to the Utility folder and open "*Keychain Access*" ---> look in the "System" tab and delete the network password for your network.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

i used reliance dongle to browse internet on mountain lion, at first it gave me problems but after updating the reliance software it worked fine. Now i have upgraded my osx to mavericks. The reliance software gets installed but dosent open giving some error, Now i cannot use the internet !!! and itz the latest version of reliance software,,, plz help me !!!
At last i did some experiments and it solved my problem... heres the solution :
1. Install the reliance drivers and software from their website.
2. As the reliance software is not supported my mavericks it wont open, but dont worry.
3. Now after installation go to system preferences->network->and select "ZTE Wireless Terminal".
4. Configuration: Default
Telephone number: #777
Account name and password should be the owners number.
5.Finish ! press apply and click Connect...

After updating my phone yesterday it worked for about 30 minutes. The stand-alone Java Swing applications, that don't display their GUI elements after installing this update, have been written according to modern standards. With Oracle Java7, and with Java6 from Apple prior to this update, they run absolutely flawlessly.

SAP B1 2007A PL05 on 64 bit OS & SQL2005 Interfaces don't work
We have installed SAP B1 2007 PL05 on 64 bit windows with 64 bit SQL2005 SP2.
We have an interface to a Warehouse management system (Radio Beacon) and a custom interface to a legacy system. The interfaces don't work. We can not connect to the DIAPI and get the following:

Reinstalled SAP SDK

Both interfaces work fine on our 32 bit test server.

Recently updated Numbers to Version 3.5.2 and now also seem to have Numbers Version 2.0 on my launchpad? Can anyone explain how this has happened - how do I get rid of it? Not able to move to Trash.
What is strange however is that my iMac is only a few months old and they all were upgraded to V3.x just a few months ago - with all Apps for iWork removed at that time.
Unless you did something specific to remove the old versions of the iWork apps (not advisable) then, as Wayne points out, they were not actually removed from your Mac, just moved into that subfolder within your main Applications folder.
I originally downloaded Numbers 2.x from the App Store (i.e. didn't install from a disk). I still have it on my Mac. But only Numbers 3.x appears in Launchpad.
I don't know whether this will help, but in Mac App Store you might try clicking 'Account' under 'Quick Links' on the right, signing in with your password, and clicking the 'Reset' button to the right of 'Reset all warnings for buying and downloading'. Sometimes the App Store gets a little confused. It's possible Launchpad may be taking its cue from the App Store in showing that old version of Numbers.
By Launchpad I assume you really mean Launchpad, not the Dock. I usually use the Dock. If that's what you're using too, then of course you can just drag the icon for the old Numbers off the Dock and it will vanish. (But the Numbers 2.3 application will still be there in that subfolder when you need it.)

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
1. Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
2. Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
3. Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
4. Open iTunes.
5. Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

I created an after insert/update trigger and what strikes me is that it is not working as expected.
The trigger launches a procedure that does an insert in a second table if values in the triggered table ("my_table") are altered.
The problem is that the values in my second table, which are correlated to "my_table", are not changed with the correct values right away. The trigger and insert trails behind!
I have to update twice for the values to appear in my second table. Only then, the data of the first update will be inserted into the second table wheras the parent table ("my_table") will hold the latest values.
Do you have an idea what could be wrong?
