OS DB Migration in different customers

Hi,
We are planing to do OS/DB migration from ECC6.0 IBM AIX/Oracle 10.2 to Windows 2003/MS SQL2005 . source and target clients are different customers but both are sister companys and having the agriment to view the data.
Now my question is source system AIX/Oracle company 1 having different installation number, target system Windows/MS SQL Company2 having differnt installation number, so can i perform OS / DB migration in two differnt installation numbers?
Souce system AIX data almost 500GB, how to read this data in target Windows system during import? Can i copy this files into harddisk in source system , and then can i read it into Windows? Or is there any additional tools required to read Unix exported files into Windows system?
What are the addtional prerequisite and cautions I have to follow? Is any one perform this type of activity please share your experiace and mitigations .

Technically yes, you can do it, no issues. However, you may have to involve SAP Account Manager on the licensing front. You would also require a certified migration consultant to do this migration and it needs to be informed to SAP.

During the Migration process the data is exported in normal files which can be used in Windows as well. However, you have to explicitly mention about the targetdatabase which is very important.

Well, migration is a big project on itws own and many factors needs to be considerd before starting the project. Your migration consultant should be able to tell you more in details.

One Solution Manager for different customers

Hi Guys!!
I am configuring a Solution Manager for different customers wich have a different S-users and different users to manage the solution manager system.
My problem is that there is only one SAP-OSS RFC destination where I can fill the data only for one of the S-users. From "solution_manager" transaction you can indicate the S-user too (Edit - Global Settings) but the same problem occurs, I can fill the gap only with one S-user and I have to change this one when I want to work with different S-user.
Can i configure the system to indicate different S-users depens on the user who I use to logon to solution manager system?

you did not mention, which scenarios do you plan to use.
Functionality to use the SolMan for many customer numbers is already available or will be added in future Support Package Stacks.

F110: same bank account number for different customers

Hi Guru,
when I run F110 for different customers (payment method Ri.Ba.) in the payment proposal I see the same account number for all the payees, in particular the account number of the first customer is duplicate for the second one.
So in table REGUH the fileds ZBNKN and ZBNKL have the same value for all the customer selected in the payment proposal.
Can anyone help me?

   again, corrections 1030848 incorporated in the note [1617466|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1617466] for the enhancement object BANKEN_AUSWAEHLEN_CUG_IT are missing for the release 605, support pack SAPKH60505.
Mariagrazia what correction instructions you have implemented to correct your problem? It's related to the account number of vendors or customers?

Dunning letter to four different customers in one spool request

Hi Urmila,
I have been able to generate a single spool for 4 and more customers with different dunning notices.
I dont think there is any special setting needed.
However, things that you may just check in dunning procedure is:
- have you ticked on "notices by dunning area"
- have you ticked on "notices by dunning level"
I havent ticked on any of the above, and by default, in SAP I am getting a single spool generated.

Same Contact for different customers

I have same contacts (all details same) for different customer accounts (ex: Customer A, B, C etc). I have to duplicate contatcs in XD* or VAP* transactions.
Is there a standard simple way to avaoid creating duplicate contact entries? Create contact (without attaching to customer) seperately and assign to different customers?

If you want to assign as contact person sales employee responsible for contacts wit hthe customer, you shoudl rather use parther function PE and assign the employee number in the partner functions of the customer. Otherwise the requirement to assign the same contact person to several different customers is completely not clear for me (several companies rather do not employ the same people).

SP2010 - Documents migrated from different farm cause login prompts when opening..

We have 3 SharePoint farms (Dev/Test/Prod) and we migrated Word documents between them a couple of different ways.. AvePoint's DocAve, copy from Explorer view of the two farms and Download/Upload.
The documents were originally created on the development farm.
When we open documents in the production farm, the user is prompted with a login box to login to the development farm. New documents created in the production farm don't prompt.
Anyone know where / what information is being stored in the document that would reference the old farm? and how to clear it?

According to your post, my understanding is that documents migrated from different farm cause login prompts when opening.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
I recommend as below:
Open the site in the browner, click tool->Compatibility View Setting->Add the site to be displayed in Compatibility View.
Click Tool->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites.
Click Tool->Internet Options->Security->Restricted sites->Allowed level for this zone: Medium.
Modify your registry settings for the WebClient service.
Go to the file's properties > Security > Advanced > and Inherit the permissions.

There is a view "label data view" to assign the labels for each material. This view is independent from the material type, so you can maintain labels for all materials that require a label.

Live Migration with Different CPU versions on the hosts, win 2012R2 Datacenter

This question have been asked in different forums but when I read the the thread's I feel that I get mixed answers.
And most answers are dating from 2012 (Win 2008R2), I don't know if they are still correct in win 2012R2.
So now I ask the question myself and hope to get at clear answer :)
We are in the process of installing a new Hyper-V cluster using Win srv 2012 R2 Datacenter as OS.
I'm planning to re-use some of the "old" servers from our current Hyper-V 2008 R2 cluster, removing it from the cluster and do a clean installation of 2012R2 Datacenter.
But I will need to buy two new servers to manage this (with a new version of CPU, same brand (AMD))
Old server: AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 6172 (12 Cores)
New server:
AMD Opteron™ 6344 (12-core)
Now my question:
Will Live Migration work between these servers in my new cluster without me doing any special settings in hyper-v or in the VM or what do I need to do to get this to work?

It is important that all the hardware supporting Windows Server 2012 Failover Clusters be certified to work with Windows Server 2012.
In a cluster where all the nodes of the cluster are exactly the same, hardware migration is fairly straightforward. There are no concerns about differences in hardware, and

Hi, I need your help on consolidating two different SCCM 2007 infrastructures into a single SCCM 2012.
We have two different SCCM 2007 Hierarchies, Lets say 123 and ABC
About 123 SCCM 2007 -- On 123 Hierarchy, we have already started migrating clients from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012.
About ABC SCCM 2007 -- On ABC Hierarchy, This is still running on SCCM 2007 (This hierarchy only be started migrating once we
are completed migration on 123)
Out of which, we have few co located offices across the globe for both 123 and ABC. Now we are decided to replace the hardware on all these locations by removing the existing two servers (one for 123 and other for ABC,with two different Forest and domains),
and consolidate them into a single server.how can we plan/design to ensure that we covering both hierarchies SCCM clients for the operations.

1.Is there any way on "System management" in AD to enable access either in 123's domain or ABC's domain.
2.Since we are planning to replace the hardware with Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V, Create two instances and migrate 123 hierarchy to SCCM 2012 and other instance will serve ABC until we start the migration on this.

1) In CM 2012 you can publish data to System Management in other forest but you have to configure the permissions manually and create the forest object in the ConfigMgr console.
2) CM07 and CM2012 instances can co-exist as long as you don't create boundary groups in CM12 for site assignment (that will cause overlapping boundaries if you still have boundaries in Cm07)

Yes it is possible. in OVA8 you can do the customisation on the basis of Credit Control Area + Risk Category + Credit Group. And in FD32 you mention the risk category of Customer, so if you maintain both the customer in different Risk Category and accordingly do the customisation in OVA8, you can achieve your desired result.
However this is not a very ideal situation as in case of 2customer it looks easy but generally an organisation have very large no. of customer base, so it will become difficult to track the same.

Data migration between different ECC versions

Is there a way to migrate data between two different ECC versions?
I know that there are differences between the tables and therefore TDMS transports are not possible. But is there another way to get master data from one version (6.0 EHP 3) to another one (6.0 EHP 4)? For example a tool that can prepare the exported data for the import in a higher version?

That's indeed the most feasible option we have on the table right now. Although we have a lot of Z-fields and would need to transfer them with LSMW.

Migrating schemas - Different tablespace names on source and destination

I am migrating database schemas with exp/imp from 8i on Solaris to 9i on Linux and also from one 9i on Linux to another 9i on another Linux machine.
The tablespaces and schemas (empty) already exist in the destination, so the schemas now need to be filled using imp. However, the default tablespace of the schemas have a different name in the source than in the destination. Is this going to cause errors during the import?

Not at all, i think. Just verify that the source tablespace is not present in the destination database. If you have a tablespace with the same name like the source, put the user quota to zero, so imp will switch to the default tablespace.

Switching career half the way is very risky especially shifting to SAP career.
SAP career will prove to be very good career provided you get an opportunity. In other word if you get an appropriate JOB.
But, unfortunately SAP Job market is very much saturated.
If you surf through SCN community every next question related to career is for opportunity.
Even certified / qualified and experienced professionals are struggling for Job on SAP platform.
So, my advice to you is,
Please do all ground level analysis and make sure to have a Job or to have at least 50% occupancy before you decide to switch to SAP career.
