Out of memory message in Illustrator. Now Illustrator won't launch. Can I reinstall?

I was working on a very detailed illustration in Illustrator and got an out of memory message. I ended up forcing Illustrator to quit. Now Illustrator won't launch. In the Adobe Creative Cloud, can I uninstall Illustrator and reinstall without having to pay extra?

I believe you should reinstall using the full three step way:
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

CS6 - getting "nearly out of memory" message

I purchased a new system (windows 8, i7, 16 Gigs of RAM) to work with Illustrator and large files. I have a file that is 100 meg with a bunch of layers and i'm trying to group them by the same fill color. When i try i get the message:
"Can't group the objects. Nearly out of memory. Please save your files immediately. Free up more memory to continue"
The thing is, with 16 gigs of RAM, i check and Illustrator is only using just over 2 gigs. I know if Photoshop i can allocate more memory to the program, but can't find that feature in Illustrator. I don't figure this file would be that difficult (it is a repeating pattern that is 44" x 44")...
I called "support" and they said they could fix it, but it would cost a "nominal fee" of $200!!! Unbelievable...
Brand new computer, CS6, 16 gigs of RAM...don't understand what i'm missing...

I had the same problem today. I have 16GB memory + external scratch disks. I was trying to make a compound path and got the "nearly out of memory" message. I did get around this message by making the compound path in parts: Made a compound path of the first half, then second half, then combined the two. Not sure if this helps in your situation.

Excel 2011 version 14.4.8 running on an iMac gets "out of memory" messages.

HELP!!! Excel 2011 running on an iMac with OS 10.10.2 and 16GB Ram gets "out of memory" messages. When I monitor processes with "Activity Monitor", I am using less than half of my RAM. The Excel workbook has many sheets and also some macros. The basic workbook has been running for about two and half years starting in August 2012 without any problems until I upgraded to Yosemite in early December 2014. Now I often have to restore the entire file content because it gets corrupted after not being able to save the file because of the "out of memory" message. I can take a file and its content that ran fine a year ago and run it today and it will eventually get corrupted and get the "Out of memory" message after saving/quitting/re-opening the file any where from 6 to 15 to 25 times. I think I need to have more memory allocated to Excel, but Yosemite doesn't provide any way for the user to interact with the memory management process. I have also experienced the very same problem on my MacBook Pro that runs Yosemite. I have worked file/path name length issues, closely inspected the macros that normally don't run except when activated with a user pressed button, and made sure I don't have any weird links within the workbook or even links to another file outside the workbook. This problem seems to get worse as a continue to fill up the spread sheet with more financial data. This Excel workbook is used to manage my club's finances; I am the club treasurer. I have searched the internet for clues about similar problems and have found none!
My iMac is a 27-inch, Late 2009 with a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 Processor. It includes 16GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM. The hard drive is a fussed 1TB rotating HD with 128 GB SSD. Given the caveat, have you tried reinstall of Office? Your MS Office 2011 may have become corrupted. After upgrading to Yosemite I had to reinstall my Office 2011. No crashes.
The current version of Office 2011 is 14.4.8.
First - find your Office 2011 install disc with the product key # - and only then remove Office according to MS instructions

Out of Memory message -- even with a blank sequence!

Not sure what happened, but all of a sudden I can't get any timelines to open. Even if I just start up the program without any open sequences, when I click on the empty "Sequence 1" I get the dreaded Error: Out of Memory message. I've tried the usual fixes, but nothing seems to help. I recently ran Cache Out (to delete various caches) and Monolingual (to get rid of non-English language support files), I wonder if something essential got trashed?

Got 10GB or so on both my external hard drive (which I'm not even using now), as well as the internal one. My media is on the external, but to simplify I disengaged it and am just trying to load ANYTHING. Just working on my internal drive, which I have permission to use, of course. I've got 1.25GB of RAM, no issue there. Activity Monitor was a good idea, in fact it occurred to me a few minutes ago and I checked that, didn't see any obvious problems.
I trashed the preferences numerous times, deleted some old files, was going to dump the render files -- but I realized it's irrelevant, since it won't even open a blank file. Here's further evidence of the weirdness -- when the blank project opens up, it gives me the Browser window, and I can get the Viewer to open (but never the Timeline). However, if I try to open up anything in the Viewer, it immediately disappears! I'm losing my mind...

Out of Memory message box

I am using CS Indesign 5.5 and have recently loaded 6.0. Having used Indesign for nearly 10 years I have never had the Out of Memory message pop up and have no idea why this is now doing so. I am using the PC version with Windows. I cannot get rid of the Out of Memory pop up but also cannot continue with that design. Is it anything to do with the fact that I am running 2 indesign products at the same time. Any help would be appreciated as I am starting to get a little bit annoyed.

Error Out of memory message since update

In the middle of a project with five camera multicam edit and since an update Im getting intolerable out of memory messages. have 32gb of memory. How can I roll back the system to remove whatever the updates were? There were 4, and I'm not sure what they were, but didn't have this issue before. I've rebooted and still getting the same message. Driving me nuts as I'm editing for TV and it's time sensitive.

I know, I clicked on the update and realise that about 0.1 of a second later..... "mmm, shouldn't have done that". I now think it's not the updates as such. The problem appears to be when I try to adjust the time of one clip by 10 frames or so to match the other clips (Ctrl+shift to move a clip in time). When I do that it seems to cause the error. I've been getting that when I try and change the clip positions in the multicam view when there are 5 or 6 clips, so I've stopped doing it and just accept the positions in the viewer as they import. Tweaking individual clips seems to cause the same general error message. For the time being I'm re-editing it after changing the in point of the clip and starting again with a fresh set of clips as a new multicam edit. Not ideal but gets around the issue for now.

Out of memory message when rendering

I have read much about this issue in other posts, but havn't been able to solve my problem.
when rendering a sequence of large still in DVC Pro 1080i, about a 20% of it rendered, then the message "out of memory" comes up.
The rendered part looks sweet.
I have been able to render about another 20%, completing about 40% of the project rendered after the initial message, then the "out of memory" pop up comes up again, and after that, i will try to render more, the render % bar comes up, then just gives up and doesn't render anything.
All of my scratch disks are set to a 2TB external sata drive with tons of room.
I've deleted all of the render files in the Tools>Render Manager and that just made me re-render everything again, to come back to the same spot of "out of memory" at around 40% again.
Should i try bumping up the still cache up to like 50% from a current 10%?
Im working with all stills, maybe i should bump it up to 100%?
Open to suggestions. . .

I understand now that FCP can only use up to 4 GB of RAM. Sooo. . . if rendering large still images with a lot of filters: de-interlace, flicker filter, broadcast safe, I could see why you wouldn't be able to render a long sequence of these big stills. I believe this is why i was getting the stopping of rending and the "out of memory" message. So i once again cleared my renders in the Render Manager. I closed the projected and restarted.
I began to try and render just sections of the sequence, thinking that this couldn't possibly max out the maximum RAM used by FCP. Though this didn't work.
With just a small section of the sequence selected, it again recieved the "not enough memory" message, and FCP wouldn't render anything else after making another small selction of the clips.
Why is it not possible for me to render small sections at a time?
Is editing large stills in HD not possible in FCP for the reason of not being able to use enough RAM?
Please, any advice or imformation on this will help me figure out what application i should use, or if there is a way to do this in FCP for editing still images with Heavily panned and zooms for a HiDef sequence, thanks

Out of Memory message in FCE HD

I am editing a long film. Suddenly when I try to insert a clip in the timeline I receive an "Out of Memory" message. I increased memory allotments in System Settings to the max (I have a gig of RAM)
and when I saved the Project all but the last three or four clips were saved: but not the last ones.
I cannot find anything wrong and I am jinxed. Is it the program, something wrong with the hardware or me? I have an iMac (not the Intel chip), with a 250 gig hard drive and Ram as stated.

The capture is on the 500 gig disk. I have closed out all other applications using force quit.
I am beginning to think I should look outside FCE. My download is HD and the project is similarly in HD- I have not changed it. I think I will call Apple - I have Apple care for the computer itself.
It is increasingly a problem. I have tgried to close out all the old projects that I still had open- now I have the added problem that the canvas and the timeline have disappeared and greyed out under Window. I have a program to give I am trying to get edited in three weeks and all these problems....

"Out Of Memory" message when trying to paste Audio Configuration (Logic 9)

The song I want to copy Audio Configuration from is quite large, it contains the whole album actually. I suppose that if I truncated it I could get the copying done, but isn't there a way to increse memory allocated to Logic instead ? Or are 16 GB RAM not enough ?

I truncated the source song to make it simple and I still get the Out of Memory message. No other app is running except RME's TotalMix & FireFace USB. Is there any other solution than copying all channel strip settings one by one ?
Is it any different in Logic X ?

"Out of memory" message when rendering - MP4 files imported

I imported MP4 files into FCP7 and I get an "out of memory" message when I try to render a sequence. I don't think it's the size of the file because I often work with much larger files without any problem. I even saved the MP4 to MOV files with QT and imported those, and still it gives me the "out of memory" message. VERY ANNOYING. There seems to be something in those original MP4 files that FCP doesn't like. Any idea how to get around this?

I had this problem about 2 months ago and, as others have suggested in this thread, eventually traed it backed to some stills I had scanned and brought into the project. Accidentally I had changed the scanner settings, with the result that a couple of skills were well beyond 1980 x 1020 pixels. I resampled the stills and everything was fine again. Hope this might help.

Blackberry Desktop Software "Out of Memory Message"

Very new to blackberry. Have had it two days. Dig it so far.
On a mac using the Blackberry Desktop Software, and tonight when updating the blackberry using this software, I started getting a message: "This device has run out of memory while synchronizing your Notes and Memos."
But in the Device Manager, it states that I have 1.2 Gb free memory, and on the blackberry itself it states I have 1.6Gb free. So I have plenty of memory. What's the cause of this error message, and how do I fix it?

Illustrator CC 2014 won't launch (Could not complete the requested operation) even after fresh install (3 times), anyone know how to solve? (Windows 8.1)

Hi guys, my Illustrator CC 2014 won't launch, getting an error message "Could not complete the requested operation", this is not a specific file issue I can't launch Illustrator stand alone. I've un-installed and re-installed about 3 times and contacted support but they haven't been able to solve as of yet. It's a relatively fresh install of windows 8.1 and no custom fonts have been added. I've tried deleting the preferences folders and launching and that has not had any effect. No idea what else I can do, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Forgot to mention I have also tried running Illustrator as administrator and that Illustrator was running perfectly fine on this computer since install (about 2 weeks) before this started happening.

Hi Jacob, I decided to completely remove the entire creative suite from my computer, ran the cleaning tool (although some errors showed in the log file) and it now works! Let's just pray it stays this way haha. Thanks for the suggestion.
