Outbox in Outlook

I have a MC Pro Retina Display OS X 10.8.5 (12F45).
The Outbox folder in Outlook on the left suddenly disappeared. Now it shows only for a few seconds when my messages are being sent, and disappears again. I can't see if i still have message in the Outbox, or stop it for reviewing/editing my messages.
How can it be put back, and stay there permanently like it was before.
Thank you.
Daniel

Did you  initiate a send and receive and open the Progress dialog? Click the little x at the right of the entry to stop the progress. The Outbox should now be visible in the message list and you can remove the attachments or delete the message.

  • Messages stuck in Outbox in Outlook

We are running Exchange 2007 SP1 and Outlook 2007 SP2.
We are increasingly recv'ing reports of users having messages stuck in the Outbox folder of their Outlook client. The messages are also visible in OWA, although the strange thing is that the messages do seem to have been delivered.
There seem to be a multitude of posts about this issue, but nothing concrete - does anyone know if MS has found a fix for this?
    I can see this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948984.
    However, it states:
"In this scenario, when you log on to the online account that uses this personal folder, the Outbox folder indicates that there is a message that is waiting to be sent. This message is visible only in Outlook Web Access. The message is not visible in Outlook 2007"
    - The difference is that we see this in Outlook 2007 as well.
    Anyone?

    Hi Yoshi,
    1. Would you please let me know whether your customer has same scenarios described by the KB (Move Sent Items from OST to local PST file) when the issue occurs?
    2. Whether the issue always occurs and can be reproduced? If the issue can be reproduced, please let me know the steps which reproduced the issue
    3. If the issue can always be reproduced, please let me know whether the issue occurs if you use OWA to send email or use Outlook Online Mode to send email.

  • Where is the outbox in outlook for MAC

I am new to using a MAC, i have Microsoft Office for MAC installed.  I have Outlook Mail all set up but i cannot find the Outbox folder nor anyway to add it.  Does somenone know anything about this?
    Thanks

Good idea, Beowulf1, and that helped me to force an Outbox, thanks.
But you can keep your Ethernet cable plugged in and simply switch Outlook to Offline mode in the Tools tab while you send yourself the trigger email.
Does anybody else have messages that don't appear in the elusive Outlook 2011 Outbox, but are stuck in a loop uploading from the Outlook Sent folder to iCloud, in order to update the Sent folder on iCloud and other devices?
I had that problem for months, eight emails always uploading. I thought they were still in the Outbox but they weren't, and clicking the cross on the progress bar never worked. I fixed it yesterday. This is what I did, in case this helps anyone else:
    1. Compare the Outlook Sent folder to the iCloud Sent folder online to see which messages have not uploaded to iCloud.
    2. Select the offending /extra messages in the Outlook > Sent > MobileMe/iCloud folder.
    3. If you wish, apply an Outlook Category and colour to them so they are easy to find. You can create a custom category and colour in Categorize > Add New. Then you can quickly view them and work with them as a group by choosing the category in Filters.
    4. Copy the messages from the Outlook > Sent > MobileMe or iCloud folder to the Outlook > Sent > On My Computer folder to retain a local copy if you want.
    5. Delete the messages from Outlook > Sent > MobileMe or iCloud folder. The loop should stop.
There was probably a fault with the messages (e.g. invalid header or too big). These messages won't appear on Sent mail in iCloud and other devices, but you can forward them to yourself if you need the content on other devices, though they will be new mail in your Inbox rather than in their correct order in Sent, but if it is only a few messages or if it is really bugging you, it might be worth it.
If you want to put them back into iCloud Sent, I was able to do so, with some oddities of order, by this method:
    1. Create and name a new folder in the left pane /mailbox folder area of Outlook 2011 on Mac, if that has the mail that needs to be restored to iCloud.
    2. Copy the required mail into the new folder.
    3. Drag the folder to the Mac desktop, and it will automatically create a .mbox exported file of just that mail. Close or put aside Outlook.
    4. Open Mail on the Mac and choose File > Import Mailboxes > Files in mbox format, navigate to choose the file on the desktop and choose Continue to import the messages into Mail. Mail will create a new Import folder containing the folder from Outlook.
    5. Open the imported folder to view imported messages.
    6. Select an imported message and choose Message > Move to [or Copy to] from the top menu bar and select a destination from the drop down menu, such as Sent.
    7. Click on the iCloud destination option that pops up beyond Sent. Mail will show a progress bar for uploading the message to iCloud, and after a minute, depending on file size, it should appear in the corresponding box on iCloud (Sent, in this case), and will then auto load back to the Mail and Outlook boxes (Sent, in this case). Dates should appear correctly on the messages, but their order may be a bit odd.
    8. Select subsequent imported messages for the same destination and choose Message > Move [or Copy] Again to iCloud. Not too many at a time, or the upload might get stuck in a loop.
(steps 3—4 from following tips by SallyRF and Scirebroc on another thread at <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3644627> — thanks to them)
This may be slightly off this thread's Outbox loop topic but I have come back to this thread many times while trying to find a solution for my particular Sent loop, and I haven't found any other information closer to the point, so other people with the same loop will probably read this thread too.

  • Mail Stuck in Outbox in OUTLOOK

Stupidly attached pictures with total size of 16MB to email and tried to send. Now it's stuck in my outbox. Anyone got a clue how to delete it?

    Klondike,
I assume your problem is due to the fact that you have got automatic send/receive at startup of Outlook and system hangs while it tries to send.
Try temporarily disabling your internet connection before starting Outlook so that it fails to connect to the server.
You should then be able to go into your Outbox and delete the offending email.
I would strongly recommend that you disable automatic send/receive at Startup and Send immediately.  It is best practice to send/receive manually.

The reason I re-posted this issue as the previous as remarked as answered but somehow after that no more ppl reply.. i need more ppl's suggestion here!!
    Thank you

    Hi,
Generally for emails stuck in Outbox issue, we need to try basic steps as below:
    1. Work offline, move the stuck mail into another folder. Restart Outlook and Work online to send it again.
    2. Temporarily uninstall or disable firewall and antivirus software.
    3. Test in Outlook safe mode.
    4. Create a new profile and re-setup your account.
As you have tried to disable Anti-virus, we also remind you to disable the firewall to test.
Please run MFCMAPI to check if there are emails or corrupted items that are stuck in Outbox, if yes, please delete them.

  • First email in Outlook Outbox is always undated and won't send

Outlook had no problems one day, and then for no apparent reason it began misbehaving. I have changed settings, scanned for a virus, deleted and tried again, done multiple Send & Receives, rebooted, and prayed for digital healing for two days with no
    relief. Here's the problem.
The first email in my Outlook 2010 Outbox queue is always undated and
will not send. If I have two (or more) emails in the Outbox, the first email is undated, but others are dated and will send without a problem. However, if I delete the undated email, the previously dated email moves to the first position and
becomes undated, and will not send. Again, only the first email, however it gets there,
    is undated.
I am gaming Outlook by leaving one dummy email in the Outbox all the time. It was Sent there just like the others, but it stays undated and will not send. Emails added after it in queue are properly dated and will send. This is a ridiculous
way to run the Outlook email client.

  • Error when I "submit Form" through Outlook 2007

  • Sending mail smtp vs exchange without outlook mailbox opened

We have an application published via Citrix Xenapp 6.5 on win2k8r2 servers which uses server-side Outlook for composing/sending mail.  The user does a one time setup of the Outlook profile through a Citrix published Outlook.exe.  After the setup
their Outlook profile is then retained in their Citrix/roaming profile and Citrix published Outlook.exe is no longer opened directly.  When the user clicks an 'email' button in the application, an Outlook send/compose window from the server appears with
the contents attached and ready to be mailed.   Up until now employees were using Exchange mailboxes and this functioned perfectly.  Hit 'send' on that compose window and the message would get sent.  We are now migrating most mailboxes
to IMAP and have found that in order for the Citrix Outlook instance to be able to send its mail via SMTP, a server-side session of the Outlook.exe mailbox has to actually be opened and not just the compose window otherwise the messages appear to send but
are actually just sitting in the outbox.  No errors.  Once Outlook mailbox is opened, the messages get sent out.  We dont want users to have to open up a separate Citrix Outlook instance as this creates confusion with their usual client-side
Outlook and it's unwanted for limited resources in Citrix sessions to go towards sync'ing mailboxes.  Seeing the same behavior with Outlook 2007 sp1 and Outlook 2013 sp1 x86.  Why would this work with Exchange but not SMTP and can anyone suggest
    workarounds?
I'm not knowledgeable with vbs/vba but i was considering whether it's possible to launch outlook hidden from the user or to script initiation of send/recv session on the mailbox at scheduled intervals without outlook open, thinking that might send what's
in the outbox.  these are some areas i've looked into but havent gotten results yet -
Email remains in the Outbox when the StrictAccountOrder registry value is non-zero
    The mysterious Outlook Outbox
    Launch Outlook Hidden
Force outlook to "Send/Receive All" using VBA
    http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/332666-need-workaround-for-running-an-old-application-as-a-published-app/
    Thanks

When you use a SMTP server, you need Outlook open to send mail - the spooler has to have time to load and send the message. When you use Exchange, outlook hands the message off to exchange and exchange sends it.
It's not possible to launch outlook hidden using a different profile - you can only use one profile at a time. There is a utility called ExtraOutlook that can open two profiles that might work for you - most people say it works, but AFAIK, it won't open
the second profile in a hidden state.

  • Why is Outgoing mail from my iPad not appearing in Outlook 2010?

I have set my iPad to synch with my gmail account.  In turn my gmail account downlaods and synchs with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 PS.
Everything works except that when I send mail from my iPad or reply to incoming mail from my iPad, my replies, whilst synchronising with my gmail account, and showing in the Sent folder in gmail, do not download to Outlook.
If I log into gmail (from my email or via Safari) and send mail direct from gmail these messagesshow in the Sent box and DO show in iPad gmail outbox and Outlook, though they show in the Outlook inbox!
So the only mail that gets stuck in gmail and won't download to Outlook is outgoing mail sent from gmail in my iPad.
I can work around this by sending a bcc to myself of every outgoing message I send from iPad.  In this case the Send copy shows up in the Sent folder in gmail and does not download to Outleook but the bcc copy arrives in nthe Inbox in gmail and does download to Outlook.  Its ugly but works.
A proper fix would be better - does anyone have any ideas?

For Exchange GMail there is a way to set your iOS device to use a different "Send As" name than when using a computer.  Unfortunately in your case, you can set your computer to send an alternate name but the iOS device can only send the default GMail name, which is the name associated with your account.  Ideally, you would like your iOS device to use the alternate and let your computer use the default.
But if you want to play around with this ...
1- On the iOS device itself, use Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync.  You will have to log in at the prompt with your GMail account info.
2- Select the iOS device name (in case you have multiple iOS devices using Google sync).
3- Select "Enable 'Send Mail As' for this device" and Save the changes.
4- Using a computer, log into your GMail account and select Settings/ Accounts and Import, then at the "Send mail as" prompt select "edit info" (off to the right).
    5- Change your outgoing name.
The name you specify in #5 will be used by your computer, but the iOS device will continue using the original (default) outgoing name.  You can see why you need the opposite in your case, so unless you can change the default to be your wife's name and then set the alternate to be your name, I think you're out of luck.

  • Work flow mails not processing from SAP Outbox to Approvers

    Hello,
We are working on the implementation of Work flow for Purchase orders.
Work flow customization is completed and even work flow is triggering when ever I create Purchase Order.
Even Agent assignment also completed for work flow tasks via T code PTFC_CHG.
Problem here is Work flow mails are not processing out of SAP Outbox to approvers even also after executing the program RSWUWFML2.
If I check in SOST,I will not see any of the entries related to work flow mails.
For eg:If I creates a Purchase order it will trigger Release Strategy and I can see the message to Approvers, like "Please Approver PO..."
Only above I can see in my SAP Outbox.
So how can I Process these messages to approvers SAP Inbox.
Any Pre Setting I have to do?
    With regards,
    SPK

    Hi SP,
I may be wrong, but on reading ur thread, I feel u r mis interpreting SAP Outbox with Outlook.
Is it so, because u have mentioned about RSWUWFML2 and SOST, which comes into picture only if u r using an external mail like Outlook.
If its Outlook, then there is no doubt that ur work item would get deleted from SAP Inbox and would be present only in Outlook.
If its SAP Outbox, then u r not supposed to get ur work item in ur Outbox unless it is processed or executed thru ur SAP Inbox.
    Hope it helps.

  • Hi, in our Enterprise environment, we have a single mac with Mavericks version 10.9.2 and Office for Mac 14.4.1. When setting up outlook, we are trying to connect to a mailbox on exchange server 2007.

Hi, in our Enterprise environment, we have a single mac with Mavericks version 10.9.2 and Office for Mac 14.4.1. When setting up outlook, we are trying to connect to a mailbox on exchange server 2007. We put in the EWS details in the server field since our autodiscover function is not functioning. But still it doesn't work. There are no errors, no popups. We turned on the logging and in the logs, it says a error of -3259. We are stuck and any help will be really appreciated.

I have a customer experiencing exactly the same issue. Their computer is running Windows 7 Pro with Office 2007 SP3. After seemingly exhausting all troubleshooting options, I backed up their data, formatted the hard drive and performed a clean install of
Windows and all their applications. It didn't solve the problem!
What's strange is the customer also has a laptop computer, running the same version of Outlook, and that doesn't experience any problems connecting to Office 365 on the same network.
My next step is to send the customer a new ADSL modem/router to try.
I have another customer on Office 365, also running Outlook 2007, and they also experience issues with emails sitting in the outbox while Outlook displays the status message “Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft exchange server outlook.office365.com.”
In this case Outlook doesn't freeze/stop responding, like it does for the first customer I mentioned.

  • Many invisible mails in Oulook 2007 Outbox

    Hi,
A user was getting messages to say his mailbox was full and eventually couldn't send. He rang for help because he couldn't see where to trim the mailbox down. The server database limit for his mailbox was 500MB, but Outlook 2007 was only showing around 100MB
of mails. I moved his mailbox to a bigger size database (2GB) so he could get on with sending mails. I noticed while the mailbox was moving, there were thousands of mails in his Outbox folder! The bigger mailbox allowance cured his immediate "can't send"
problem, but I double checked in Outlook and there was nothing in his Outbox. Outlook still says around 100MB in "Folder Size", server says just over 500MB.
How do I see the mails that the server is keeping in his Outbox? And I am concerned that they might all get sent again, I definitely don't want that to happen! But I do want to get rid of them.
    Kind Regards,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
From your description, it is recommended to use Online mode and Outlook safe mode to determine whether the issue is related to add-ins. What's more, if these messages are unnecessary, you can use MFCMAPI tool to delete these emails.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Lots of invisible mails in Outbox

    Hi,
This is probably the wrong forum because it's an Exchange 2007 server I'm using, but it's definitely an Outlook related problem, so I didn't know where else to put it.

    Steve

    Hi Steve,
Please confirm if there are so many messages in Outbox folder in OWA and Outlook Online mode. If thousands of mails are shown in OWA/Online mode but not in Outlook Cached mode, please create a new Outlook profile to have a try.
Please check the messages in Outbox folder, we can delete some messages which are not necessary (such as messages in Deleted Items folder) in full mailbox. Or we can set higher mailbox quota for this specific mailbox by running the following command:
    Set-Mailbox UserA -ProhibitSendQuota 2097152 -ProhibitSendReceiveQuota 2411520 -IssueWarningQuota 1991680

  • My Mac Outlook 2011 Stopped Sending Emails for all POP Accounts from Different Providers

I've had this problem before, but this time I am truly dumbfounded. My Outlook 2011 has randomly stopped sending emails, but I can still receive them. This has happened a few times and I normally change the ports/SSL and I can get it to work. But now I am at a loss. I have several email accounts that I manage. One of which is GMAIL, using IMAP, and this is the only account that currently works find receiving and sending. My POP accounts, four of them, all cannot send emails. They can only receive. One of them is with GoDaddy, and the other three are with an Asian company. I can't find any help on this. I've upgraded Office to the latest version. I've even deleted the accounts and added them back in, and I still can't send email. I'm frankly getting exhausted and sick of this type of problem happening. I honestly use this program and my MacBook Air to send clients information...only to find out hours later that a mail never sent because it's been stuck in my <hidden> Outbox in Outlook 2011. This has hurt me now badly on several occassions. Please HELP!

All SMTP servers are set correctly as far as I can tell, the connection doctor says everything is fine, and I removed all my accounts to re-add them.  I added one and tried to send a message--stuck in the outbox--failed.  I added another account and deleted the first one and tried to send a message--stuck in the outbox--failed.  I'm pretty convinced the problem is with Mac's Mail client...I can send email from anywhere I've tried except for Mac's Mail client.  Thanks for the help.
