Outlook 2010 problem

I have been using outlook 2010 for a while. Few days ago problem occurs with the messages I have respond on.They automatically move from inbox to sent folder, and I can see only my response.
I was wondering is there a way to keep received messages in inbox?

Thank you for the update.
When you reply to a message in Inbox, the original message is moved from Inbox to Sent Items folder, right? So you get two messages in the Sent Items folder, the original one and the one with replies.
If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.
Meanwhile, please log into your webmail and check if you can see the message in Inbox.
Please also try to open Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue is caused by problematic add-in. To do this, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook.exe /safe and press Enter.
Also try to disable all rule in Outlook and then test the issue again.
Please let me know the result.

  • Outlook 2010 Problem opening shared mailbox "the set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Exchange is not available"

Hi, I have a number of mailboxes configured for sharing.
For those users who have full access rights (given via EMC) the mailboxes automatically appear in Outlook 2010.
However for one of those mailboxes the users recieve the following error when they try to access it:
"The Set of Folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance."
Meanwhile the users' primary mailboxes continue to work as normal, as do the other mailboxes that have been shared with them.
The output of get-mailboxpermissions for the problematic mailbox is the same as the output for a full working one.
If I add the mailbox to my account (as though I was using Outlook 2003) it allows me access, however I then have the situation of having the mailbox listed twice, one working the other not.
How do I get this mailbox to behave as expected?
    Many thanks
    Nick

So the problem returns. I'm not sure what we did to work around it, the users who were having the problem have left and the new batch are now encountering it.
I have issued the following command on the Exchange Server (one site, one server, all roles, only a default throttling policy exists):
    $a = Get-ThrottlingPolicy | where-object {$_.IsDefault -eq $true}

When I create a second profile via Mail (in control panel) for the shared mailbox and then start outlook using this profile I am able to access the mailbox as expected. This is running in the context of the user who cannot access it from her

  • Outlook 2010 Problem selecting ISP for email default when sending receiving OK

I am using Outlook 2010 for email with an ISP. Recently installed Outlook 2013 on a new laptop using the same broadband wireless router connection. The email file is showing as my ISP  but in the Data files window although my ISP file appears I
cannot select it as the default it remains on the Data file with my ISP below it.
When I send an email it goes straight to the sent box but is undelivered.
I can receive email in the Inbox from other computers.
In the Email account details only my ISP appears with below it a statement that new messages will be delivered to the ISP account ending .pst
How can I make my ISP the default data file.
On my laptop Outlook 2013 has the default as my ISP account ending .ost
    Help please

    Hi,
Based on the description, you have a pst data file in Outlook 2010 and an ost data file in Outlook 2013, I think you are probably using an IMAP account?
Please note, in Outlook 2010, IMAP data files can't be set as default, because IMAP doesn't support the special folders - calendar, contacts, tasks. Outlook needs a default data file to store these information.
This has been changed in Outlook 2013, we can now set the IMAP data files as default.
If you have further questions, feel free to post back.

  • Outlook 2010 problem after installing KB2956128

We use a dutch 64bit version of Office 2010 and since we installed KB2956128 we get a popup. After clicking OK everything works fine. My users only get the popup
once per day, the first time they logon.
The popup says "De beheer van Microsoft Exchange heeft een wijziging aangebracht waardoor u het programma moet afsluiten en Outlook opnieuw moet starten"
In English it would be something like this. "The Exchange Admin made a change and now you must shut down and restart Outlook"
Removing KB2956128 does not solve our problem.
Is there a fix for this?

    Hi,
We have received some reports that the KB2956128 caused some issues, but it's the first time I've seen this symptom.
As you mentioned removing this kb didn't solve the problem, I still doubt whether the issue is related to this kb.
Have you made any change on Exchange recently? You can expect to see the prompt under the following condition:
    If the RPCClientAccessServer property changes.
-Cross AD site mailbox moves may trigger this, as each AD site may have a different RPC Client Access Array.
-If you are not using a CAS Array, if the RPC endpoint changes after a mailbox move. An example of this is when a user on the source database has a
specific CAS as its RPC endpoint, and the destination of the mailbox move has a different CAS specified as its RPC endpoint.
As for the message "Your Administrator has made a change and requires you to restart Outlook", you can find more information and conditions in this blog below, check if it is helpful to you:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/vytas/archive/2014/11/12/your-administrator-has-made-a-change-and-requires-you-to-restart-outlook.aspx
You have the option to completely suppress the dialog:
Uncheck the option “Show Microsoft Exchange Messages” from the Outlook icon on taskbar, and test the behavior.
    I hope this is helpful.

I just spent the morning fixing this problem on Outlook 2007.  I have no idea why it started,
since I hadn't upgraded any Outlook or Apple software recently.  Maybe it was the latest batch of Windows 7 updates?  The solution was to enable and check both the iTunes and
iCloud add-ins in the Trust Center.  FYI, here's how I arrived at that conclusion:
I tried disabling all add-ins and re-enabling them one by one, but that didn't fix the problem.  I upgraded iTunes, but still no joy. I noticed that neither the iTunes nor iCloud add-ins were checked in Outlook (they hadn't been for months, maybe years).
I tried disabling both but that didn't help.  I tried removing them, but that didn't work, either (and I had to figure out how to add them back in).  Finally, I tried enabling and checking them both. That did it.
FYI, I don't use iCloud to sync my data.  I tried that once and it destroyed my Outlook calendar.

As of a 4 days ago my icloud control panel stopped syncing with my tasks, contacts and calenders to my Icloud account I am using as metioned outlook 2010 , I dont even see the I cloud sycn/refresh button located in the tool bar in outlook 2010. I have been using this plug in for nearly a year with out any problems untill now.
    My Email works just fine.
I have tried signing in and out of I cloud, uninstalling the icloud conroll panel, using the repair function, uninstalling the Out 2010 non of which have helped.
ha anyone else had this problem or have an idea on how to resolve it?
    Thanks

Why are you running Pocket Mirror, do you have a Palm device?
Uninstall Pocket Mirror, delete the 2 Pocket Mirror calendars, ignore 'My Calendar' the iCloud calendar is the one to use.
If you do not uninstall Pocket Mirror the calendars will keep recreating themselves

  • Problems setting up iCloud & Outlook 2010

    Hi,
I have just installed Outlook 2010 & am trying to set it up to work with iCloud. When I tick the boxes for Calendar & Contacts on the iCloud control panel & click apply it starts the set up process, but part way through I get an error message saying it can't set up due to an unexpected error. If I click cancel it leaves the boxes ticked, but iCloud does not appear in Outlook. If I click try again the iCloud control panel just constantly shows 'setting up' next to contacts & calendars. The only way to then stop it is using Task Manger. I did this before & it wiped out all my Outlook Contacts & Calander entries (fortunately I was able to get them back from my iphone using itunes).
I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling the icloud control panel, & have also tried running 'Repair' on the Office 2010 setup, but still get the same problem.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
    (PS I'm using Vista 64bit)

    Hi,
I managed to get it working by doing Contacts & Calendar separately.
So, I turned Contacts on in the iCloud control panel leaving Calendar off, it did the setup correctly, then I turned Calendar on as well in the iCloud control panel & again it did the setup correctly.
    Hope this helps you.
I have discovered that iCloud & Outlook doesn't work quite as well as I'd like it to - Outlook doesn't show any appointments from the iCloud calendar in the To-do bar (an Outlook problem) & I've had some problems with the categories I'd given some Contacts (not sure if the problem is in Outlook or the iCloud, but although the categories appeared, filtering based on them didn't seem to).

  • Sync problem itunes 11.1.5.5 iphone 5 Version 7.1 (11D167) Windows 7 Home premium Outlook 2010 contacts calendar

I'm no longer able to sync contacts, calendar or notes from my computer's Outlook using iTunes.  For a while I was getting a message that the server could not be reached for resolving conflicts - probably got that message every sync for a month or so and just ignored it.  Then I followed online instructions for dealing with that problem and renamed the file conflicts.syncconflict.  The instructions suggested that this would cause creation of a new conflicts.synconflict file, which it did.  But then the sync just seemed to hang on the contacts portion of syncing, even if I left it for a couple of hours.  So I renamed the old file back to conflicts.synconflict.
Now sync doesn't work at all for me if I try to sync any of Outlook contacts, calendar or notes.  If I disable all those, the sync works for things like apps, etc.
    I have already tried:
checking latest version of iPhone software
in iTunes, clicking edit / preferences/ devices / reset sync history (not sure whether this button really does anything or not)
using outlook's scanpst.exe to check for corruption of my main outlook files and most of my ancillary folders
resetting the iPhone (pressing the button upper right and the circular button at the bottom for several seconds)
trying the sync after rebooting the computer and not turning on Outlook in the interim
The present symptom is that the attempted sync just hangs on the syncing contacts stage, and won't complete.  I can cancel the sync, but I can't complete it (unless I uncheck syncing with all the Outlook data).  I'm not getting any error message.
    This is what I'm using:
              iPhone 5
              iTunes version 11.1.5.5
              iPhone software Version 7.1 (11D167)
              Windows 7 Home premium
               Outlook 2010
              Asus G74SX computer
    It is March 27, 2014.
Suggestions welcome.  I'd like to be able to sync my contacts and calendar.

    Hey Steve,
I had this problem as well and found a way how to solve this:
You need to reset your iPhone by pressing the Home button and the Power button simultaneously until the iPhone reboots.
After it rebooted I unlocked the phone, connected it to my PC and ran the iTunes sync without any problems.
Hope this helps with your issue as well.
    Best
    Alex

  • IPhone 4S Outlook 2010 shared Calendar problem

    Hello all,
There problem to see in Outlook 2010 shared calendar in iPhone 4S. In iPhone 4S there is seen owner calendar of added Exchange Server account, but I need to see other one person shared calendar which is impossible to see. I see in iPhone 4S two calendars as added, but when I open calendar I see entries only for one account.
Where is problem and how to solve it?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Girts

I had the same problem where I could open a shared calendar in OWA but it would not work in Outlook 2010. When I clicked on the shared folder I got the error message 'outlook cannot open this folder'. The problem ended up being that the person
whose calendar was being shared was hidden on the exchange server ('hide from exchange address lists' had been selected). To resolve the issue we had to unhide the user, update the OAB on the server and then update the OAB on the desktop. We could then share
the calendar, accept the share and then hide the user again.
Sounds like I have the same issue too.  Where do I go to do all the resolve part?  Where do I unhide the user?  I am guessing OAB means offline address book.
    Thanks
    Paul

  • ICloud WINDOWS 7 64 Bit sync problem with calendar of Outlook 2010

    I am using
    iPhone 4S (IOS5)
    iPad 1 (IOS5)
    PC (WINDOS 7 SR1 32 bit, Cor-2-duo) & Outlook 2010, 32 bit, at home
    PC (WINDOWS 7 SR1 64 bit, Intel i7) &  Outlook 2010 version 14.0.6106.5005 (32-Bit), in my office
together with iCoud for syncing my contacts (about 500) and calenders (2 calenders, about 3.000 and 8.000 entries) with Outlook 2010
The syncing works perfect for 1., 2. an 3., but I have severe problems with the 64bit PC:
The iCloud operating pannel is only displayed after a fresh reset of the system. Two processes are running (iCloud.exe*32, iCloudServices.exe *32), the iCloud icon on the task bar is displayed.  Opening of the iCloud operating pannel fails by all means ( via icon, via network->icloud) etc. after Outlook 2010 has started once.
After closing Outlook, a restart of Outlook is perfored but displays "loading data" till infinity. The task manager is required to shut down Outlook.
After a fresh reset outlook starts (normal behavior) and displays the contacts (complete) and both calendars, but has only downloaded during set-up only about 7.000 entries of the 11.000 entries which are still displayed in the calendar of the  web interface of iCloud and are displayed nicely on iPhone, iPad and the 32bit PC. The sync of new calendar entries works perfect between all four systems.
I have removed and reinstalled the iCloud operating panel sereal times, checked the Outlook pst file for errors -> no success.
Any suggestions how to overcome this problem?

I had a similar problem back lst year with MobileMe and outlook. I had to uninstall outlook and MM control panel completely then reinstal MM THEN Outlook and then MM would download all 5 of my MM calendars into Outlook including all events
do they stop at a certain date i remember seeing an option somewhere that specified how far back to sync appointments

  • Exchange 2010/Outlook 2010 Security Alert (...there is a problem with the site's security certificate.)

I've been looking to resolve this issue for a while now and was hoping someone could help me understand my options.
We have Exchange 2010 & Outlook 2010 in our environment. I've created a SSL cert for our ActiveSync from a reputable CA and unfortunately, as you may not be surprised, we are seeing an alert each time we open Outlook that states:
"Security Alert; Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the site's security certificate.
The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site."
Of course my internal server name does not match my external server name. So the SSL I had created for use with OWA and ActiveSync is rejected by my internal Outlook clients.
After doing some research I believe this is related to the Autodiscover service being configured with my internal server name and not my external name.
I've found some info about adding New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory and Set-ClientAccessServer commands and then found this article that might help.  (Configure
Outlook Anywhere to Use Multiple SSL Certificates) but nothing is specific to my configuration and I'm concerned about what will happen to my existing configuration if this fails.
What happens when you run Set-ClientAccessServer? Does it retain and keep the old server config in place and add a new one or does it wipe it out? Will all of my devices need to be reconfigured?
Same with New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory.  Does this simply add another virtual directory or is it going to overwrite my existing config?
Then there is the question of whether or not any of this will actually address my issue at all.
    absolutezero273c

    Sorry.
"[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity MailExt -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri "https://MailExt
    .contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml"
The operation couldn't be performed because object 'MailExt' couldn't be found on 'DomainController2.contoso.local'.
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Set-ClientAccessServer], ManagementObjectNotFoundException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 4D980455,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.SetClientAccessServer"...is the error I get.
I've created the split zones and populated the Forward Lookup Zones as follows:
    CONTOSO.COM
    MailExt(CNAME)MailInt.contoso.local
    _tcp _autodiscover(SRV)MailExt.contoso.com
    CONTOSO.LOCAL
    MailInt(A)192.168.1.10
    MailExt(CNAME)MailInt.contoso.com
One thing I did notice is that there isn't a _tcp _autodiscover entry for MailInt in my Forward Lookup Zones.  It was recommended that I make that entry for _tcp _autodiscover(SRV)MailExt.contoso.com in another post I read somewhere.
I believe what I am trying to do is create a new autodiscover object as is shown here:
I see there is a Get-ClientAccessServer & Set-ClientAccessServer command but I need to add a CAS. Does the Set-ClientAccessServer add or simply modify?
Or would that require the New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory command? I read
this page that discussed creating new virtual directories but that seemed a little risky without knowing all the ins and outs of how this service functions and to what degree this would affect the existing configuration.
I was able to use the Set-ClientAccessServer command and change the actual internal autodiscoverUri to https://MailExt.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml but the name still says MailInt and I continue to get the SSL cert warnings because it is looking
    at MailInt.contoso.local.

  • Outlook 2010 has problems dealing with in-line attachment (not an Exchange issue!)

    Hi all...
Is there an official way to have this bug looked at?
(Note -- it is *not* the Exchange/PDF bug that has been semi-addressed with the very-recentInterim Update for Exchange 2007...)
If I set up Outlook 2010 to use an IMAP server account (not an Exchange account) and send that account a message from Apple's Mail.app program -- that contains an in-line attachment -- Outlook 2010 displays the e-mail incorrectly.
If I send e-mail using Apple Mail of the form:
    <some text>
attachment  (and in this case I've tried .pdf, .docx, .xls, etc. -- it seems not to matter what the attachment is...)
    <additional text>
    <signature>
Outlook 2010 displays the resulting e-mail with a problem:
The received e-mail will look like this
    <some text>
then *two* attachments -- the attached file *and* an "Untitled Attachment" that contains the <additional text> and <signature> parts of the e-mail (!)
The reproducible bug (at least here) is that Outlook 2010 should display the remaining text after the in-line attachment within the *body* of the e-mail message.
Again, this is *not* the recent Exchange issue with .pdf files -- this is strictly an Outlook issue.
    Any thoughts/help on this one?
    - Steve

    Hello,
In order to get a better understanding of your issue I have a few questions:
1: You mention that the sending client is an Apple mail application. Do you see this issue when sending from a non-Apple email client?
2: Which version of Apple Mail app are you using?
3: If you send the same mail to an Outlook 2007 or earlier version of Outlook do you see the same issue?
4:  What is the format of the Email when being sent from the Apple mail client, is it HTML; Plain Text or Rich Text? Additionally, what happens if you send the same email but change the format.
5: If you send an Inline attachment to the Apple Mail application from Outlook 2010, what happens?
6: As per the Post you are attaching a single Inline attachment with text before and after the attachment before sending the email, but when you receive the mail in Outlook you get two attachments. Are these attachments still inline attachments?
7: The second file attachment; next to the remaining text and the signature does it contain any other text? Like some error added by the server?
9: Instead of .pdf, .docx, .xls file if you send an image as an inline attachment from the Apple mail application, then so you see the issue?
10: If you send the files as normal attachment not inline does everything work?
Below is an article which may be applicable to your issue although it pertains to an earlier version of Outlook:
‘Outlook renders inline message information as an attachment’
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814111
I also came across a user who experience similar issue and they suggested, setting the apple mail application to Always insert attachment at the end of the message.
View->Attachments and select "Always Insert Attachments at End of Message
Let me know what the results are using that setting.
Do let me know if you have any queries regarding the same and I shall try my best to address it as far as possible.
    Regards,

  • "changes to the public group membership cannot be saved" error from Outlook 2010 users, but no problem with Outlook 2003.

We have the exact same issue as this but our groups are already universal security group and we still have problem:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-NZ/exchangesvrmigration/thread/2c953cb4-5411-4f72-beb9-6b4c16fd6685
The distribution-groups were upgraded to Exchange 2010.  User A can update the group from Outlook 2003 or OWA 2010 but not from Outlook 2010.  Anyone know the solution?
    thanks

    Hi lilyl,
For this issue, please refer to this document:
How to Manage Groups that I already own in Exchange 2010?
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/11/18/3408844.aspx
So what does the "Changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. You do not have sufficient permission to perform
this operation on this object." error mean, when you are connecting to an Exchange 2010 server?
It means Exchange 2010 is doing its job - as designed...
    Thanks,
    Evan

  • HT4759 Problems with outlook 2010 and icloud

In outlook 2010, when trying to open up icloud calendar or contacts, I keep getting message, "The information store could not be opened". It worked fine until a few days ago.  The only changes I made was to add a new router to my home network.,  Any suggestions?

This is a more detailed explanation of the prblem that I have posted o nthe Microsoft Forum:
I am a home user of Outlook 2010. My outlook is not picking up all my emails from the server. It is patchy.  I have a whole bundle from yesterday which have not been downloaded despite appearing on my iPhone and iPad.  Yesterday I received some emails - and then between 4.30pm GMT and 9.09pm GMT I did not receive 7 emails = including my responses from my iPad which I was sending. Everything appears on my iPhone and iPad, but does not come through to Outlook. No error messages or anything to tell me that there is a problem - just when I want to go back and look I cannot find them in Outlook, and have to reforward from my iPad. I get them when reforwarded so really don't understand what is going on.
Is anyone else experiencing this?  BT service desk will not help me - say I need to go to the tech people on a paid for basis.  If this is happening to others I guess the problem is with BT not Microsoft?
