Outlook 2013 appcrash print preview

We have several Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Server running with Xenapp 6.5 installed. Also the universal print Server from Citrix in Version 7.1.1 is being used. When we open the print preview Outlook (32 bit Version) sometimes crashes, mostly with following
error message.
It happens when we Switch the Default Printer ....
All other Office (package professional) applications are running well. Any ideas?

Thanks for your comments.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Have you ever tried with the latest version of printer drivers? If no, please do so and verify result.
Another step that worth trying is to rename/delete the OutlPrnt file. Outlook keeps its printing style settings in a file called OutlPrnt. If the file gets corrupted, then you will get hangs and crashes issues.
Just give it a try and see if it works: Go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\
and renaming the OutlPrnt file to .old.
If issue persists, you might need to repair your Office installation and see if this will correct the issue.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

  • Outlook 2013 can't preview Office files

I run Office 2013 Home and Business. I've just realized that Outlook 2013 refuses to preview Word, Excel and Powerpoint files saying "This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer"... and so on. After downloading
the file I won't open either.
I finally came across solution allowing to open such downloaded files by modifying (=disabling) all Protected View components in Office apps, which in fact seems ridiculous for me as I used to run Office 2010 and the earlier solution (a bar with warning about
opening a file from Internet) was just fine to live with. What's the purpose of this feature if one has to disable it to have Office apps working?!
Anyway, I'm able to open those files now.
However, modifying the Protected View options in other Office apps hasn't made Outlook preview working - how can I turn it back again?

Does anyone know where these reg entries for file extensions can be found?
    Close outlook, start regedit
Navigate to here HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current version\preview handlers
Making sure to back up the contents of course
Delete the key for Microsoft Word previewer, etc.
Restart outlook, preview a word doc you should now get a message “you should only preview files from a trustworthy source”

  • Outlook 2013 Quick Print not working for HTML attachments.

I have to print multiple orders that are received as attached HTML files (Sometimes 20+ attachments).  In Outlook 2007 (On XP) this worked fine I could print the email with attachments and everything would be waiting for me in the printer.
I just got a  new computer running windows 7 and Outlook 2013 and I can no longer print the attachments.
I printed through File, Print, Printer Options, Print Attached Files - Email prints, no attachments.
I tested with an attached DOCX and PDF - Both print the email and attachment.
Quick Print HTML attachment - Nothing Prints.
Open Attachment in Internet Explorer - Prints fine.
Changed Default Program for HTML files to Firefox and tested quick Print - Nothing Prints
Changed Default Program for HTML files to Word and test quick Print - Prompts for program to use when opening (for every attachment), I choose Word, it opens but does not print.
I've been searching for anything else to try but I'm running out of ideas  Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

To resolved this issue i tried below trouble shooting:
    1) Repair MS office 2013
    2)Uninstall and install office 2013
3)Rename the Outlprnt file  to Outlprnt old  from C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\
    4) 2 times Re install printer drivers
    5) Creat new outlook profile
if you Unable to print from Outlook 2013 without receiving the "Printer not ready" message (32/64 Win 7 Pro).
This changed worked for us, by selecting the Advanced properties on the printer and changing the default setting "Start printing immediately" to "Start printing after last page spooled".
I hope it works for you, good luck in your quest!

  • Windows 8 Outlook 2013 doesn't preview .pdf files

    What's the trick?

    Well Said !!!
All pdf attachments can be previewed inside MS Outlook by installing same plug-in. By using Adobe Reader, all pdf attachments can be previewed separately (i.e. downloading). However the need is call to export outlook emails to pdf with attachments, you can go through an automated app. A standalone application that I used does not require MS Outlook and Adobe Acrobat any more to export Outlook emails to pdf with attachments.
    Give A Look:
    http://www.pcvita.com/convert-outlook-emails-to-pdf-with-attachments.html

  • Can you automatically print email attachments in Outlook 2013 with a standard "out of the box" rule

I know there is a standard "print it" rule in Outlook 2010 that prints the email not the attachment. I heard that there is a standard rule in Outlook 2013 that prints attachments. Is this true? I have Outlook 2010 currently and am having trouble
with scripts that are suppose to auto print attachments. If this feature is now a standard rule in Outlook 2013 I would upgrade.

    Hi,
Please note, both Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 only have the rule with the action "print it", but neither of them has the action to print the attachment. You need to use a macro which prints the attachments of the emails.
Some 3rd-party add-ins may also help.
If you need support on the macro, we can post this question to Office Developers forum:

  • Outlook 2013 does not print "To:"

    Hello All,
I have a few .eml files that are not printing correctly in Outlook 2013. After opening the files and selecting to Print or Print Preview, the "To:" header does not print. It is just simply excluded. If the same file is opened in Outlook 2010, the
    message prints properly.
Other emails in my inbox print properly, so the issue is on the files. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your response!

    Hi,
I didn't reproduce this issue in my Outlook 2013.
If you just print an email from the list (not a .msg file), does this issue persist?
Outlook keep its printing style settings in a file called OutPrnt. We could solve this issue by renaming the OutPrnt file to .old when Outlook is closed.
    You can find this file:
    drive:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
We can also create a new profile to test if this issue exist:

  • Outlook 2013 Calendar Details printing Double

I've read all the forums and all related articles about this bug but I have seen no real answers or solutions.
I purchased Microsoft Office just for the sole purpose of the Outlook calendar. I have the latest version as of 3/13/14  Outlook 2013 version 15.0.4454.1510.
There is this bug:  When you print calendar details everything is printed double.
Can anything be done? Everything I have read seems this bug has existed for years. Horrible it has not been addressed yet.
Has anybody heard that Microsoft is even aware of the problem? Doing anything to fix the problem? etc...?

    Hi,
Did you print in "Calendar Details Style"? How does it look like in print preview?
How does the problematic printout look like? Would you please provide a screen shot so that we can understand the problem more clearly.
In addition, please try to switch to another printer to check if this issue persists.
Please feel free to post back.

  • Print to PDF is very slow showing "save as" dialog when printing from Outlook 2013

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with one of my users.  The problem is intermittent.  At first when I was looking at the issue, here is what I saw:
In Outlook 2013, I opened an e-mail.  I then selected Print, selected the Adobe PDF printer, and hit the print button.  There was over a 1 minute delay before the "save as" dialog appeared to ask me where to save the document and what to name it.  I did this for several different e-mails with and without attachments and the problem was consistent.  I saved the e-mail to a local e-mail file and the problem was the same.  This process was over 30 or 40 minutes.  I was pulled away for another issue and now the "save as" dialog pops up within seconds.  The user is complaining that this happens regularly.  I tried a repair, cleared temp files, and was going to try printing from other apps, but then it started temporarily behaving itself, so I can't tell you if the same delay existed in other apps.  I didn't see anything obvious in the event viewer logs.
Has anyone else seen this?  Anyone have an idea on how to troubleshoot this?
    Thanks,
    Jeffery Smith

Thank for your help Bill, but changing settings in the distiller did not seem to work. As my application prints directly to the default application without using anything specific to Acrobat, I was hoping there was a simple way forward. A colleague suggested copying registry entries from the account I logged on as to the S-1-5-18 entry, then rebooting. This had no effect as the prompt still comes up.
Aandi, I don't have the Acrobat SDK or any experience of it.
Also I'm not sure where any code/script would sit since the application is stable and so I would rather not change it.
If it amounts to a few lines of javascript sitting outside the application then that would be of interest.

  • Attachment don't open en previewer is not working in Outlook 2013

When i get office attachments in an e-mail in outlook 2013 on a windows 8.1 pro.
The attachments don't open. And the previewer of outlook tels me that the content can not be previewed.
Any one any idea what can be the solution to open and preview these documents?

    Hi,
Did you get any error message when you try to open attachments?
What's the file type of the attachments? Can you open and preview a Word or Excel attachment in Outlook? By default, Microsoft Outlook 2013 blocks potentially unsafe attachments (including .bat, .exe, .vbs, and .js files) that can contain
    viruses.
In addition, please try to clean out the Temporary Outlook Files folder to check if it helps. See:

Please let me know the result.

  • Frozen out menu ribbon in Word 2013 and cannot preview word documents in Outlook 2013

I seem to be having a recurring problem with Word 2013 from Office Home Edition single user. When I try to put a caption on a table, the entire document page layout changes from portrait to something close to landscape and then the entire menu ribbon freezes
out. I usually have to save the file, close and reopen using the open and repair feature as the document only opens in read only after this incidence happens. Since the first time I experienced this in early July, I haven't been able to preview Word files
in office outlook 2013 and the protected mode feature hasn't worked since then either.
Can I get some help with this please? I reinstalled, did online fixing and tried a few other fixes to no avail. Could it have started as a result of my installing a trial version of Office Visio which comes as a totally different package from my Home edition?
    Thank you

... When I try to put a caption on a table, the entire ...
Is this the only action that will result in the issue? Does this happen to any Word documents?
The first thing that I'd suggest you to do is to install any available updates to your system and Office installation, and then verify result.
Then, please check if you have any add-ins integrated with your Word 2013 (please note that some programs might install add-ins automatically), try in safe mode and see if issue was caused by some add-in conflicts:

A Windows clean boot is also worth trying, it will help to determine whether background programs are interfering with your program:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

  • PDF printer not working in Outlook 2013

I have the PDF printer add in activated, but when I try to use the PDF printer in Outlook 2013, nothing happens.
The program turns for a while, but then closes without the PDF file being created.
Used to work without problem for earlier versions of Outlook.

You probably need to upgrade. According to the compatibility table (
    https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html)
Outlook 2013 is compatible with Acrobat XI (11.0.1) or higher only.

  • Windows 2012R2 RDS - Outlook 2013 preview handler not working

    Hello,
We have an Windows 2012R2 RDS environment with Outlook 2013 installed. Currently we are experiencing some issues with the preview handler for non-administrator users. With an Administrator account it is working without issues.
All users that open WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT or other office applications see the following error:
This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer:
    Word/Excel/Powerpoint
To open this file in its own program, double-click it.
Other programs like Windows Media Player (voicemail messages), Image viewer, Notepad are working.
Any idea what we can do to make this work?
    Thanks.
    Max

    Hi Max,
    Thanks for your information.
After doing some research, this behavior might be related a DCOM permission. I suggest checking this point:
    1. Go to Component Services and Open it.
    2. Expand Component Services, click on Computers, then right click on My Computer and go to “properties".
    3. Click on Default Properties tab, and make sure the following is set:
    Default Authentication Level: Connect
    Default Impersonation Level: Identify
If it’s a permission issue, we can use process monitor to get the logs.

  • Print out all contacts with all info showing in Outlook 2013

In Outlook 2013, if you click the Contacts group you want to print, then go to File...Print, the only option is to essentially print the view you have when clicking into the People menu.
How can I print out every contact showing all the info in each contact?

    Hi,
Do you want to print each contact into each printout page with all the info? If so, you can try printing using the
Memo Style. To do this, click the contact group you want to print, select one contact and then press Ctrl + A to select all contacts in the contact group. Then, click File > Print. Under

  • Outlook 2013 cannot preview Office dcouments

    Win8.1/64 bit/Office 365/Outlook 2013
It was all working fine then one day it stopped opening Office docs altogether.  Another forum had a work around to fix that, but I have not found a fix for the previewer.  I get the message "This file cannot be previewed because there is
     no previewer installed for it.
Previewer is installed as per the Trust Center Attachment Handling link.  However in another forum, I found a response that caused me to look at the Registration Keys - and there, at HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Office\Previewers there are
only three entries, PDF, TXT, and Zip - the only three file types I can preview.
Any thought how to get the other previewer reg keys installed?

    Hi,
Are you using the same version of Outlook and other Office programs?
The registry key you mentioned will be added when you preview a non-Office file. When you preview an Office document, it won't add a key under the path.
Please first try to run a repair of your Office installation to see the result. See:
