Outlook 'Bitness' registry key not set. by 64-bit install of Office 2013

A 32-bit version of Office 2013 was installed by default on Windows 8.
I uninstalled this and installed the 64-bit version as per http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/choose-the-32-bit-or-64-bit-version-of-office-HA102840825.aspx.
But the Outlook "Bitness" registry key is missing, i.e. no \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Bitness.
(Note: the old 32-bit install had key \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Bitness)
Thank you for any insights as to why the key isn't set.

Office 2013 does not run on Vista, it is only compatible with Windows 7 and above.  You will not be able to install it.

  • Cannot install Sharepoint 32bit due to product key issue - may have been used on Trial Office 2013

    Hi,
I have a 32 bit version of Office 2010 Professional installed. I have attempted to install SharePoint 2013 but it fails saying the product key has been used before possibly in an Office 2013 trial version.
Any idea how I circumvent this? Is it possible to get an alternative product key - although the install process does not allow a product key to be entered.
    Thanks,
    Alan Johnson

What are you trying to install? It isn't 'SharePoint' as that doesn't have a 32 bit version. On it's own 'SharePoint' refers to SharePoint Server or Foundation, which are server products that you connect to from your computer but do not install locally.
It is also not common to install Office on a SharePoint server (but not unheard of either).
SharePoint Designer, which is very different from 'SharePoint' does come in 32 bit as does 'SharePoint Workspace'.

  • Adobe PDF Registry Key for setting Available PostScript Memory

    Good evening,
Is there a Registry Key that can be modified to set the "Available Postscript Memory" in the Device Settings tab of the Adobe PDF Converter ?
    Thank you,
    Jeff

I don't think so - but I'm curious why you would want to ever change
this setting. (It may not do what you think it does).

  • I have a new hard drive and itunes and my computer (windows XP) no longer recognise my ipod. I also had the problem with the registry keys not being present but this has now been fixed. However i can no longer link my ipod up with itunes.

When I first tried itunes with my new hard drive there was the problem with the registry keys but something also flagged up about needing a signed driver. Is this anything to do with why Itunes and my computer no longer recognises when my ipod is linked up? Whatever i try under 'devices' my ipod is never available to sync up. If anyone can help I would be most grateful.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this has not worked. I didn't have quicktime to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference? After following the instructions, I get the "registry keys missing" problem appear again (which I've subsequently fixed again) and then when I connected the ipod I got the following message - 'Device driver software was not successfully installed'.
I've tried windows update but this doesn't do anything as '...the service is not running'.
    Any suggestions?

  • Notification Server error 2, Registry Key not found?

    Hello everyone,
I've got more of a cosmetic problem as it seems atm. When checking the Component Status, I see some red crosses in a couple of components. Two being SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER and SMS_NOTIFICATION_SERVER. The site itself seems to be working okay, although
it has some problems here and there, but nothing too troubling.
The first error, located in SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER, states that a the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\NotificationServer cannot be written and returns error code 6 - handle invalid.
The second error, located in SMS_NOTIFICATION_SERVER, states that the above mentioned key cannot be found and returns error 2 - cannot find file specified.
I've checked the registry and the key is definitely there. I also checked the permissions and local service, system and the Primary Sites computer account have full permissions.
    The Key contains three values:
    - Default - REG_SZ - No Data
    - Reserved 1 - REG_SZ - No Data
    - Reserved 2 - REG_SZ - No Data
    I've found this
thread that suggests a site reset as the solution, but that was already done two weeks ago and it's currently not an option as this is a live production system.
    Any suggestions?
    Best Regards,
    Fred

  • Windows key inoperative dv7-4285 windows 7 - 64 bit. only key not working

Windows key inoperative dv7-4285 Windows 7 - 64 bit. The Windows key is the only key not working.

    Thanks for the information,
I have a couple of suggestions that may help with this issue. My first suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard.
Follow these steps to do that:
    Click the "Start Menu"
Type "Device" in the search box under all programs
    Select "Device Manager"
    Click "Keyboards"
Remove all devices under keyboards by right clicking and selecting" uninstall" on each device
    Restart the computer
How long has the button not been working?
Are there any other keys not working or producing the wrong character?

  • Adobe Reader DC Disable_Repair Registry key not working.

    Hello friendly helpy folks.
I am installing Adobe Reader DC in a Citrix and RDS environment. I have successfully installed it as a MSI with the transform generated by the Customisation Wizard. However the "Repair Installation" function still needs to be hidden. Searching the interweb gave me this link Installer settings which says that the registry key Disable_Repair should hide it in all versions later than 10.x, however it doesn't. I also tried the HideMenuItems.js to no avail.
Has anyone had any luck with either of these methods? Or can anyone point to me to a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Joe.

I referenced the ETk to get everything turned off except does anyone have any idea how to disable the "store and share files in the document cloud" piece in the tools pane?

  • Itunes 64 bit Win is not a valid 32 bit application

thrice I've downloaded itunes64setup for my win7 HP, but it every time I try to run it I get the error itunes64setup.exe is not a valid 32 bit application
I'm getting sick of apple. They're worse than microsoft ever was.

Remove and reinstall all iTunes and Quicktime related components as explained here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
    2. Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled
In most cases removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. In some rare cases those though, files may be left behind. After following the previous steps, you must confirm that the following files and folders have been removed. If any are left behind, remove them now:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
Note: Follow the additional steps at the end of this article if you receive the alert "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" when trying to delete this folder.
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime\
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you will need to confirm that the following folders have been removed as well:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\     Note: Follow the additional steps at the end of this article if you receive the alert "Cannot delete iPodService.exe: It is being used by another person or program" when trying to delete this folder.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTimeVR
    3. Reinstall iTunes and related components
After verifying that iTunes is completely uninstalled, restart your computer and then download and install the latest version of iTunes.

  • Need Help! Ospprearm.exe not working with Windows 8 and Micorsoft Office 2013

I am running 64 bit win 8 and office 2013.  I searched in my whole PC and I found Ospprearm.exe in this location C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
That was the only place I found ospprearm.exe.  When I opened it I got this error
There was an error when trying to rearm Office. You can try passing the SKU Id as a parameter. Passing the SKU ID is necessary if you are relying on activation to permit an additional rearm. Error: 0xc004f025
On a computer running Microsoft non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xc004f025' to display the error text
I haven't rearmed Microsoft Office before with this technique before.
I really Don't know what happend.

    Hello Ethan
I am a bit worried since using Ospprearm.exe for office in my 64-bit version of Windows
8 original version apparently changes my CMID will it affect my Windows Profile adversely as well or only office? I am told this rearms
    does "the following tasks:
Resets the grace timer to 30 days.
Freezes the grace timer until either an Office application is run, or the ospp.vbs script is run.
Resets the client computer ID (CMID). This is important because the KMS host uses the CMID to determine the number of unique clients. To check the CMID, use the command ospp.vbs
/dcmid. For more information about ospp.vbs, see The ospp.vbs script.
Note: If you run this command on either Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, it only returns to CMID for Windows,
not Office. To see the CMID for Office 2013, look for event 12288 in the Application Event log..."
Your clarification will be deeply appreciated thanks!!!

  • Pushing a 64 bit registry key

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to push a reg key to 64 bit systems that falls in the wow6432node folder.  I have verified it works if I run it locally with the command
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regedit.exe /s "HKLM Field Mappings.reg".   I have tried pushing this using the regedit in system32 and syswow64.
I have tried pushing this as an application and a package in SCCM, both complete and say installed but I do not have the entry in the local registry.
    Any ideas ?

    Hi,
I recommend you check the log file execmgr.log.
Also, you could download a tool called “Reg2exe”
This is small tool that let you change reg keys to exe, then you could deploy them as exe program with SCCM.
Here is a similar post for your reference.
Deployed Reg Edit says it's successful in execmgr.log. But, it still doesn't show up in the registry on the client machine. What am I missing?

  • Pavilion g6 B6E08AV Win8 64-bit several keys not working.

Pavilion g6 B6E08AV Win8 64-bit delivered/received 12-22-12 for Christmas. Last couple weeks [q, w, e, r, u, i, o, p, right shift key, zero & enter on number pad, left & up arrow keys] stopped working.  Must use on-screen keyboard. Very disappointed/upset after chatting online w/tech. He wanted to send replacement kybrd for me to replace myself...(NOT). Alternative= send me a box to ship laptop to repair center, 7-9 day process! I can't believe there is not an easier/faster way to replace a simple keyboard; like take in to a local partner. I am even more disappointed that a farely new unit already has a hardware failure.

    Hello,
I see that you're having an issue with the keyboard on the notebook. Now, if you're in warranty and want the replacement to be free that would be the best option.
If you're not in warranty and looking to replace the keyboard yourself you can look into this one which the same exact keyboard that you have (if you're located in the US.)This is the only keyboard I could find that your notebook supports.
Other than that I would suggest going with the replacement HP is offering you. Also, you could always ask for them to give you expedited shipping.
Hope this helps. If you need anything else let me know.

  • 'Paper Available' box / 'printMediaReady' registry key not sticking

I am running a print server on Windows Server 2008 R2. When you open the printer properties box, on the general tab, there is a 'Paper Available' box.  All the printers pretty much all say 'letter' in that box - some say Letter and Legal
and we also have some label printers with odd sizes.  Anyway, we have some printers that say 'letter' in that box but the printer is only configured to print legal.  We have configured that under Printer Preferences and Printing Defaults
    - and the printer prints legal just as it should with no issues.  However, I have people questioning why it doesn't say legal in that box if it is configured to print legal.  In doing a little research I found 2 registry entries that control that
    box:
    HLKM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\printername\DsDriver - printMediaReady
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers\printername\DsDriver - printMediaReady
I found if I change this value it will change the value in that box.  However, I have some printers where that doesn't happen.  I can make the change, close and reopen regedit to verify it is still there, but as soon as I open the printer properties
it switches it back to letter.  Anyone know why this is happening on some printers and not others or how I can make this change?

    Hi Tony,
Thank you for posting your issue in the forum.
I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. There might be some time delay. Appreciate your patience.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Exe developed in 32 bit Windows XP not working in 64 bit Windows Vista

Am using LabVIEW 8.6 demo version downloaded from internet and Windows XP 32 bit OS. I developed an application and created an exe which communicates with a USB smart card reader. That exe file works fine with that USB device in Windows XP 32 bit OS.
But, when i used that application exe in Windows XP 64 bit OS, and also in Windows Vista 64 bit OS, the application is not working. The communication with the USB smart card reader is not at all establishing. The USB device will take appropriate 32 bit driver and 64 bit driver automatically when updating on various OSes.
How to resolve this? Shall i have to install any 64 bit drivers for LabVIEW?
    Thanks,
    Mathan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Dear Amit,
Thanks for the attention. I have tried both the option you told, "Run as administrator" and checked "Services" and smart card services are running. Even i tried restarting the device, but the same result. Maybe as you told, this maybe more of an MSDN issue. I don't know how to proceed.
    Thanks,
    Mathan
[Edit: From somewhere in MSDN forum or others, i tried the below suggestion too, but in vain. Same scenario. I lost myself in VISTA.]
    1. Right-click on the key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais and select Permissions...
    2. Click Add.
    3. Click Advanced.
    4. Click Locations.
    5. Click on the computername and click OK.
    6. In the window 'Select user or groups', click on Find now.
    7. Select LOCAL SERVICE.
    8. Click OK.
    9. In the window 'Select user or groups', click on OK.
    10. In the window 'Permissions for Calais', click on LOCAL SERVICE and make sure 'Full control' , 'Read' and 'special permissions' is allowed.
    11. In the window 'Advance Security Settings for Calais", deactivate the options 'Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects...'
    12. When the window 'Security' appears, click Copy.
    13. In the window 'Advance Security Settings for Calais", activate the option 'Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects' and click OK.
    14. In the window 'Security' click Yes
    15. In the window 'Permissions for Calais', click OK.
