Outlook causes Itunes not to function

If I open Outlook before I tunes then I cannot get Itunes to play any songs. Once I open itunes then I cannot play any sounds on my computer. If i open itunes first then the sound works and songs play but outlook has some issues. Anyone have any ideas.

Happened again with the latest iTunes update. The past couple of versions worked fine, but the new version has once again killed the Logitech cordless keyboard. I've restored an older image of my drive, but iTunes can't open the library because it was created by a newer version (the one that doesn't work). What is wrong with you people at Apple? How hard is it to NOT recreate a problem that was fixed?
Meanwhile, is there anyplace I can download the iTunes version that was one release prior to the new version? Thank you.

  • With Windows Vista, the most recent Itunes update 1/30/2014 has caused Itunes not to work, with a Mscvr80.dll not found error. Uninstalled all Apple programs, and installed fresh Itunes. Same problem. Tried to reinstall using an older install exe nogo

Recent ITunes update has caused ITunes not to work. Tried uninstalling all Apple products and reinstalling fresh. Still doesn't work. Tried reinstalling from an old install.exe. Install went nicely but program won't start as it says it can't open the library file.

Now that I have no way of accessing any of the products I have purchased from ITunes, I will most certainly never use ITunes again for any reason. Why throw good money after bad?  I will use another MP3 player that is not as cumbersome or proprietary.
    Lesson learned.

  • 7.3 upgrade causes iTunes not to launch

Initially I ran into this problem when I upgraded my Macbook's install of itunes to 7.3. When I would launch the app it would bounce in the dock a few times, sit there, then just disappear. After digging around I found others had a similar problem and the only solution was to downgrade to 7.2 which I did. Then 7.3.1 came out claiming to fix a 'minor' problem where itunes would not appear or something to that effect. I was hopeful and upgraded from my now downgraded 7.2. That only brought the problem back again forcing me to downgrade...again. Fine, I thought, I'll just stay at 7.2. Then after upgrading my work iMac G5 to 7.3.2 the same thing happened! What is causing this even on the supposedly fixed updates?! Sure I could run old software, but I have a feeling it's going to happen to another one of my 3 Macs and at that point I'm going to go nuts. What can be done to prevent this and make it run as it should on the latest and supposedly greatest version?
    thanks

  • Quiktime causing iTunes not to open and run

I see there are a lot of people having problems installing iTunes for windows.
I have windows xp and downloaded the latest iTunes program so I could put music onto my nano (1st gen) and use it now that it is fixed. The download was successful but slow, but now it won't open. Quiktime does open however.
This is the error message after clicking on the shortcut icon on my desktop:
    Newer version of Quiktime Required.
Quiktime version 7.6 is installed, iTunes requires Quiktime version 7.6.6 or later. Please uninstall, then install iTunes again.
I have uninstalled iTunes and will try installing again. The quikctime that came with iTunes is version 7.6.8..so according to the error message, it should work!
    Please help.

I have had Itunes intstalled for years and never had a single problem with it until version 10.0.0 came out. Then I got the very same message as the previous person (Liipfert):
*Quick Time version 7.6.5 is installed, itunes requires quick time version 7.6.6 or later. Please uninstall itunes, then install itunes again.*
I am on Windows 7 and also just recieved Itunes version 10.0.1 which I installed but still receive the same error message and cannot get Itunes to open. I have checked Quick Time and I currently have 7.6.8 installed.
I have too much invested in the size of my music library to risk losing any of it. Somebody HELP PLEASE.

  • New update has caused itunes not to run

i clicked on the new update for itunes, and successfully went through all the new install, but when i go to run itunes it comes up "itunes updating". It wont allow me to click on anything else and freezes the screen. I have tried uninstalling itunes several times and re-installing but this does no use, and i am left with the same message.

I just did some research and found the answer to my problem. It might be the same as yours.
    Try this website: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302856
I found out that my problem was user-specific, and when I moved the itunes preference file to my desktop my problem was solved. itunes no longer froze when I opened it. Good luck!

  • The latest version of iTunes com addin for outlook cause outlook to hang when exiting

iTunes Version 11.0.0.163 com addin for Outlook causes Outlook 2003 used on a Windows XP machine to not close when exiting.  I have verified via the Task Manager that it Outlook does not close.  I have gone into Outlook and disabled the addin and Outlook closes properly.  Enable it again and Outlook once again does not close.  This did not start hapening until I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes.  I have both an iPhone and iPad that I need to keep synced with my Outlook calendars, contacts and notes.
How do I get in touch with someone at Apple to report this.  I have been all over their website, but cannot seem to find any email or phone number to report software bugs.

  • Updating to iTunes 10.6.2.35 my Outlook 2007 will not shut down.

Just updated my iTunes to 10.6.2.35 and now my OUTLOOK 2007 will not completely shut down.  Any thoughts?

The idea of a 3rd party unrelated app didn't seem reasonable, but in Windows, I brought up the the Windows Task Manager (similar to MacBook Activity Monitor) and started "ENDING" the tasks that seemed to be unrelated to the system but used for certain applications.
When I stopped a task related to my Linksys Music Bridge (I was using Airlink-101 music bridge tools to access the bridge) this allowed iTunes to start and stop without automatically restarting.
On XP, the task was "CMFLYWAV" not sure why it's called that, but I now use Bluetooth to send audio to my HiFi using a Logitech Speaker Adapter that works great, and doesn't cause problems for iTunes.
There are probably other unessential tasks running on those machine that still have this "won't shut down" problem.
Thanks for the hint, but I was heading down that road as the next step, assuming something else was forcing iTunes to stay active. But I would not have expected it to be a network speaker driver as it was in my case.

  • Blackberry Link for Q10 with Outlook Sync has very poor performance and not good Functionality

I am wondering if anyone has tested this software. Blackberry Sync software for my previous phones were wonderful. I can sync my contacts and calender in a very short time. With this new Blackberry Link it takes about 1 1/2 hours Plus to complete. And when it does complete - it duplicates entries which I did not want.
Plus what is missing is the following:
        1. I am not able to say Update both Device and Outlook any longer. This functionality is gone.
My question: How does it do a two way sync if I only have a choice to use what I have on my phone or on outlook only
I want to be able to update my Outlook contacts with changes and addition I made on my Q10 phone and update my device with changes I made to Outlook.
Why did Blackberry remove this very flexible choice? Plus Blackberry Link has very poor performance.
I work for a large company and I do Enterpirse Software testing daily. Performance is the number one complaint for customers on top of the UI and functionality.

    Thanks for the reply.
    OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 6.3.9600 Build 9600
    Link: 1.2.3.23
    BB Desktop: 7.1.0.41
    Anti Virus: Avast 140312-0
    Firewall: None
A thing I noticed when I opened Descktop Software for the first time since the new Z30 is that the old application thinks it is looking for a Z30.  I havent even opened the application since before I got the new device.  The only way it could think I have a Z30 is if it is using a lot of the same files as Blackberry Link.   That is some pretty terrible software development practices in my opinion.  I'm going to take your suggestion and uninstall both apps, run a registry cleaner and reinstall BB Link and I bet it works a lot better afterwards.
    EDIT 12 March 2014 7PM EST
Still all of the same errors with regard to syncing outlook contacts and Schedules.  I will post all of the error messages I recieve here as I see them.  Application is always started by connecting device with USB cable.
    "Sync was unseccessful
Caught _com_error exception. Description(): Error in MAPILogonEx: MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED; Error(): -2147467259 (0x80004005); ErrorMessage(): Unspecified error; Source(): XCPCRdmptn.RdRDOSession"
    REBOOT
Change to sync contacts only, 1-way sync to computer, always use device data
    "Sync was unsuccessful
CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences/Account_1_65537/DevicePin not set in TransConfig.xml for translator RimBB"
    REBOOT
Application went through the whole process and hung for about 15 minutes and then completed successfuly syncing contacts only.
Change to callendar only.  Sync completed successfuly.  No hang or errors. very quick.
A new recurring appointment on the device was not transferred to the computer.
    Sync callendar again, completed successfuly.
Appointment is still not transferred to computer.
So far I've spent an hour tonight trying to sync my contacts and appointment changes from just one day.  I'm not thrilled.

  • Ipod Touch will not turn on, recognize itunes and fully function.

My Ipod Touch will not turn on, recognize itunes and fully function. When it does, once in a blue moon, after 5 minutes it freezes. I am wondering if its becuase battery was left dead for 2 weeks or problems with the iOS. Resetting does not help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Try a Reset
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
    Turn the iPod On...
If that does not help... See Here:

After a recent iTunes update attempt iTunes no longer functions and the airport extreme base station is not accessable on our computer.  We still have wifi but cannot access the base station software.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the response. I tried that approach this evening and it didn't work for me. (Technically it worked for me, when I was hardwired into my base station, but would not work for me wirelessly, which is my main issue.)
Again, using the approach you recommended works only if I have my ethernet cable attached to the LAN port so my computer is communicating directly to the base station through the hard wire. I am able to scan for my base station and make setting adjustments normally this way too.
As soon as I disconnect from the LAN port and try to go wireless is where I run into problems. The Base Station's wireless network I created is available to choose in the top right corner of the monitor with all of the other available wireless devices/networks -- but the network I created does not have access to the internet. I am also unable to configure my Base Station wirelessly. When my Airport Utility tries to scan for the Base Station and Network, it cannot find any Apple Wireless Device. It's like the Wireless Network in my base station is not sending out a signal.
Is there a way to resolve this issue?

Yes, all I can tell you is that Finder does not have that function in ML. Your system is "working as expected".
