Outlook Emails Disappearing

I have a user who has his email set up on his computer and his phone. The computer is a Dell Latitude e6440, with Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2013. Our email is run by Microsoft on
Office 365.
The issue is that he is missing emails from his inbox on his computer. They show up on his phone, and if he searches the mail server for them (Search Current Mailbox > Find More On the Server),
they show up on his computer and their location data says that they are in his inbox. But if he just opens up his inbox, they are nowhere to be found.
Also, if he deletes a message on his phone, it doesn't delete from the server or the computer, but if he deletes it from his computer, it doesn't delete from his phone.
I've tried repairing his computer email account, reinstalling Office, and resetting the account on his phone. I thought I had fixed it for a couple of days, because I set the "Offline Settings:
Mail to Keep Offline" setting to All, and the missing messages started showing up again in the inbox. But two days later, he reported that new messages were once again disappearing.

Hi,
Any updates? Have you tried Diane's suggestion to create new profile to check whether the issue persists?
If there is any further question on this issue, please feel free to let us know.

  • 2013 Home and Office Outlook - Pop email incoming email disappear

I have Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 (current updates) using the same email POP account for over three years.
For weeks, I’ve seen incoming email disappear.  My Desktop Alert shows new email incoming then it disappears from the inbox.
I know these emails were sent to me because my co-workers have emails that show me cc’ed that I did not receive.
Where are these disappearing emails going or are they being rejected?
I was forced to perform the 8.1 upgrade, no impact on Outlook
I checked and have all Office updates current
I’ve checked my other device’s email apps and those emails were not located there.
I’ve checked my Outlook Options: Conversation clean up:  added
/checked – Do not move unread messages
    I have Disabled all:
    Add-ins,
    Rules and Alerts, no folders
    No security add-ins
Not sure on - View and manage Microsoft Office Add-ins

This may be caused by different reasons, but the most likely reason is on the custom setting. To help you investigate what happened to your messages, we'll walk you through a step-by-step process to eliminate possible causes of your missing messages:
Step1: Check web server - Please check your web serve to see if those missing messages are out there.
Step2: Search all messages - Try to search the messages that are missing. Remember to click
    All Mailboxes button before searching.
Step3: Check junk mail setting - They are probably set to delete mail rather than send it to the
    Junk E-Mail folder.
Step4: View filter - Please check your View filter
to see if you have set any filter rules to the incoming mails.
Step5: Forwarding settings - Please check in Account settings dialog to see if you have changed the default deliver location of your account.
Please follow above steps to see if you can find your missing data.

  • Emails disappear on iPhone after opening Outlook and viewing emails there

    Hi everyone,
I have been scouring the net to see if anyone else has this issue and from what I'm seeing there seems to be no real concrete answer that I could find.
I just bought the iPhone 4 and what I was trying to do was sync my work email to my phone, which I was able to do successfully and it works great. The contacts, calendar, and emails sync just fine. I can also view all of my folders that I had set up in Outlook.
Because this set up so beautifully for me, what I tried to do was set up two other employees with the same thing.
They both have the 3GS model. I went in on their phone and used the Exchange method just as I had done on my iPhone 4, also using the same information (except for their user name and password for their email accounts of course).
The verification says that it went through fine but what we noticed was that when they open Outlook to view any of their emails, all of the emails on their iPhone disappear. Everything.
The other thing we noticed was that their folders were also not showing up on their phones, where as my folders were easily accessible on mine.
Overall, they can send and receive. Their contacts, folders, calendars don't sync, and emails disappear once Outlook is opened.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would be happening and know of any solutions to stop the emails from disappearing on their phones?
(One of the guys has iOS 3.1.3 and the other guy has iOS 4.0.2 like my iPhone 4).
    Thanks for any help!

Thank you diesel, I will have to find another way to tell my boss.  Using the Yahoo account and iCloud method he could clear his iPhone of emails and know they would still be on his office computer.  I guess he has a choice to make.
    Thanks again, Louis

  • Outlook 2013 - Emails Disappearing

    Dear All,
I have a user using Outlook 2013 on a Windows 8 machine. The problem he is having is random unread emails will disappear from his inbox. The only way he finds out an email has disappeared is either someone chasing him up for an reply to an email
sent to him but he never saw because it removed itself or he happened to see it come into his inbox and disappear in front of his eyes, I have witnessed this myself.
This problem doesn't affect all email, there doesn't seem to be a related pattern on why emails disappear like size or time they come in. The email doesn't get move to deleted items, and you cannot find it via search either once it disappears. We have a
separate archive server which stores received emails for all our users and this is the only way we have manage to retrieve missing emails that we know of that have done a disappearing act.
The user in question does receive email on his iphone and ipad as well. I disable email on both these devices but the issue still occurs. I have created a new outlook profile, removed other users that were giving the ability to send mail on his behalf ,
uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2013 and moved his mailbox to a different database on Exchange 2010, none of described has resolved the situation.
If anyone has experienced this same issue or could suggest something I have tried yet, I would be grateful as this is a very annoying issue for myself and the user.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Please check if owa has the issue. If so, I recommend you recreate your mailbox to check the result. (Note: Before you recrete your mailbox, please export mailbox to pst file)
If not, I recommend you use MFCMAPI to check if there is any hidden outlook rule.
And please disable AV on your PC to check the result.

  • IPhone 5 - IMAP emails disappear after 1 read, but still present in outlook.

    Hi,
I have a client who is experiencing a weird issue.  They have 3 email accounts on their iphone 5 all with the same @blankdomain.com IMAP address.  Only 1 of these accounts is having this issue, the others are set up the same, but do not experience it.
It receives and sends fine from that account, but after an email is read, the email disappears off the device.  It is still present in the inbox in Outlook on thier PC, but very inconvenient it does not remain on the device.
Right now I have suggested taking a screen shot of the email once opened so they can later reference it, but also clearly not ideal.
Any idea's what might be causing this? Or troubleshooting steps to try?
    Thanks!
(sorry if this thread is out there already, I searched and found similar threads but not exactly what I was looking for)

Does anyone from apple ever read these questions, or are questions the community doesn't know anything about just left here to rot lol?

  • How can I stop my emails disappearing from iphone/ipad once I open them on laptop? This is only happening on my 'other' email address which is through Crazydomains?

I can receive emails to my account (Ive managed to work out how to set them up) but once I then open the email on my laptop through outlook they disappear from my ipad and iphone.  Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance

    Hello mushysun,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you did not sign out of your Apple ID on your iPhone before creating a new one, then you will need to sign back in with your previous Apple ID and then sign out.  If you do not remember your password and do not have access to the email account, then you can reset your password by using the security questions.

  • No longer able to drag Outlook emails to Outlook calendar events

I use Outlook 2007 on my PC, and sync it to my iPhone and iPad using iCloud.  I used to be able to drag an email to the notes section of an Outlook calendar event, but it looks like this ability/feature is now gone.  Can I get this feature back? I even tried opening an old Outlook calendar event to which I knew I had dragged-and-dropped an email.  when I opened the event, it momentarily flashed up with the attached email in the event notes section, but then the email disappeared.  Frustrating!  I drag emails to this section so that I have the details of my event linked to the event, and not cluttering up my inbox.

Have you tried clicking "Reset Sync History..." in iSync preferences?
Also, make sure you have at least one 'local' calendar set up in iCal - rather than just 'subscribed' ones.

  • Verizon email disappearing

I am having a problem with my verizon email disappearing.  I am using the verizon web interface.  Can someone help with this problem.  How can I keep my email accessible.
    Thanks,

Any time mail disappears from the server, there's a pretty good chance there's some device pulling it off. This can happen even without you intending it to. For example, the default Verizon setup for a long time (and possibly still) configured Outlook automatically unless you were paying attention and unchecked the box during the install.
The easiest way to fix it is to change your password. Once the device(s) can no longer authenticate, the disappearances should stop.

  • Outlook now disappeared

Just bought my first iMac O X 10.7.2 (21.5").  managed to transfer Outlook over and all fine.  When shut down and then turned on again Outlook (email, calander etc) has completely disappeared.  Can anyone help?

I see. If you still want to it  please look over About MS Windows Migration Assistant for the correct instructions on how to migrate from a PC to Lion. This should   provide all the instructions you need for a successful migration. Once the data has been migrated if you need help with MS Office for Mac there is a forum specifically for that. You can find it by clicking the Office for Mac Product Forums link.

  • Email disappears after dragging from inbox to subfolder.

Email disappears after dragging from inbox to subfolder. It is not lost because if it is unread it shows as an unread email in the sub folder. When I set the folder to view # of emails the # of emails shows next to the folder, but the actual emails do not. Also
if the email that is moved to a subfolder has not been read it will show an unread email in the subfolder but still not be able to view the actual email.
This does not happen on all subfolders.

Tried resetting the view on that folder already? You can do this via the View tab.
Otherwise, you'll have to share more details like at least your version of Outlook and type of email account.

  • Emails disappearing from inbox.

    Hi guys
Ive been having this weird problem with my N8 recently.  After I sync my inbox, and emails are downloaded, about five minutes later when i resync, the emails disappear one by one within a matter of seconds until the inbox is empty!  I have exhausted all options on the mail setup menu, I don't know what else to do.
Anyone had similar problems, or does anyone know how i could resolve this issue?
    Thanks Guys

    Hi desartco,
    Welcome!
You did not mention your operating system. That would be helpful so we can move this to the Yoga Tablet Forum.
Assuming that your tablet is running Windows, depending on which email client you are using (Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo!, or other account) look there. Your mail app is probably showing only new arrivals.

  • Sent emails disappear

I have a user who randomly has sent emails disappear on him. For example, between a period of 1 hour, he sent 3 emails. All those emails reached the recipient but they are no where to be found in his mailbox. I checked the message log on my Exchange server
and it shows that the email was sent and received.
I checked his deleted items and checked his rules to see if any rules could affect them. Emails were not found in deleted items and no rules could have affected those emails.
One interesting thing was that when he sent those emails, they were at 12-1am but he had sent an email at 1:16am which was still there. When he came in to work that morning, his Outlook had crashed. Maybe Outlook crashed and didn't save the emails? But they
would have synced with Exchange and should then appear in OWA which they don't. Any ideas what could have happened?
He uses Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2013 in cache mode.

Yes. In normal situations sent messages should be visible. Also is "Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder" option marked for that mailbox: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/outlook-2010/messages-arent-saved-in-the-sent-items-folder/?

  • Emails Disappeared from Inbox

Have lost about a years of saved emails from my inbox....I DID NOT delete them.  One day they were there the next they are gone.  I have settings on account and phone set to 'never delete'. Comcast foreign operators are of no help and eventually 'hang up' on me.....Poor service...They say can't get them, too bad, so sad.....Now if I was the NSA I could get them!Any way to find them or some other tech number to bypass the robots on the 800 number???Can't afford to lose anymore important emails, so if cannot be resolved, may look elswhere for a provider.

Most often email disappears from Comcast's "Xfinity Connect" webmail Inbox because an email program (ex: Outlook, Mac Mail) or mobile device (smartphone, tablet) using the POP protocol downloads the mail and removes it from the server.
Check all mobile devices and email programs on all computers. The missing mail may be in the Inbox of one of these. If necessary, change the Comcast password for the affected userID to prevent mail from being removed. You can change your password in "My Account" (https://customer.xfinity.com/Secure/UserSettings/) under "Users & Preferences" / (username) / "Basic Settings" / Username / "Change password". Once you identify the offending device or program, change its settings to "Leave a copy on the server", and make sure that a "Delete after xxx days" or similar setting is not active.
The "Email Deletion Schedule" settings in Xfinity Connect do not protect messages from being removed by email programs or mobile devices.

  • How can I share a Keynote show with a large audience using Outlook email?

I am working with a corporate client with a global employee audience of 7,000. They use Outlook as their email platform. Can I create an animated Keynote show and embed it into an Outlook email? So that the user opens the email note, and is either immediately presented with the animated show, or would click a play button to start the animated Keynote?  Do I have to house the Keynote show on YouTube, or some other server?
There is no sound, only animation, and the entire show is approximately 75 seconds in length.
    Thank you for any direction.

Note that any kind of file containing a slide show with multiple photos is going to be quite large, most likely, and thus is not really appropriate for e-mail.  Many servers won't accept attachments beyond a certain size, many people operate with strict mailbox size limits, and so your message may never arrive at its destination.  I'd encourage you to do something else.  For example, I think you can create a movie file - possibly using iMovie, I'm not sure though.  Do that and upload it to YouTube, then send people an e-mail invitation to view it.  If desired, YouTube allows you to set it to be viewable only to those who are invited and not to the general public.
